Great air-conditioning

Was kept waiting about 20 minutes before I could check in

I do love a European Best Western! Clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff.

Not the fault of the property but we had a courtyard room next to the airconditioning units and there was a terrible mechanical sound every 10-15 minutes. Maybe room 104? Avoid the courtyard in the summer and you should be fine

Lovely staff and a comfortable room. The decor was pleasant and we had a small room in the courtyard area. There was a nice breakfast with the eggs cooked to order. The hotel was in a convenient central location.

It would have been nice to have more fruit for breakfast. The breakfast & bar areas were really nicely decorated and there was a 'happy hour' with very good prices but the wine was horrible and we couldn't drink it, despite the low price!

The location was great - city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Had a great stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly the Reception staff, who managed to find us a closer room to our daughter when we asked, also the head chef, who runs special curry evenings; the curries were individually made and were excellent. The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms, although quite small, were comfortable, clean, and with the essential air con for the heatwave we experienced.

The car parking was inconvenient, as there was space at the hotel for just half a dozen cars or so, so we had to pay for all-day parking in a nearby multi-storey car park for most days. The room was small, especially the bathroom, with a very creaky floor. However, it was not too inconvenient.

Location

The location is beautifully central, and the rooms are a great size. This is our favourite place to stay when we're in Salisbury, as we visit family here a lot. There's a pub/restaurant on the ground floor, and your get a discount on the meals there. Genuinely lovely staff, always, and the rooms are always clean and modernised enough, even though the building is an older one.

The parking is free in their lot, but very limited, but you do have on-street parking that's free after a certain time, and nearby car park options. Honestly that's my only negative about the place.

Room at the back (107) cramped and low ceiling made it quite claustrophobic for two people. Better for one.

Excellent location for exploring Salisbury, staff were very friendly and the bar was comfortable, welcoming and good value.

Very limited hotel parking (space for about 4 cars plus 2 or 3 EVs only). I stayed a Saturday night and had a room looking out to the high street. There is a night club opposite and it was very noisy until well into the early hours. Friends who had rooms towards the rear of the hotel heard nothing so would recommend requesting a room away from the front of the hotel.

Our room was very small with a view of a brick wall. Also as it overlooked the courtyard we had no privacy.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were on hand throughout the stay. The breakfast was very good, with eggs cooked to order. Hard to beat two perfectly poached eggs in the morning! The property was a short walk from the main part of the town and a 10 minute walk to the train station, so very convenient. There was airconditioning in the room that was easily controlled, and a window that opened. We turned the aircon off at night and just had the window open. The room was pretty spacious compared with many city-centre hotels.

We are fine with stairs, but it might have been a bit of a struggle for people who are less mobile. Apart from the breakfast, there is no food served at the hotel, but given the number of restaurants in Salisbury, that wasn't too much of a problem.

It was basic in terms of extras. We got one type of teabag in the room, no other options- a few herbal would have been nice. Also bathroom was a step into shower over bath which was slippy and lacking in ‘comfort’ products such as body cream. The room was dark and at the back of the property.

We had a perfect short stay, the hotel is right in the city center, so everything is close by. Nice staff, clean and comfortable room.

Fantastic location, easy check-in and check-out, friendly staff! A really solid air-con system was very welcome in the middle of the English heatwaves.

Given that it's a restored older house, it had a few tight hallways and weird steps to navigate, but honestly it's nitpicking.

Die Lage in Salisbury ist ideal, das Zimmer gross und sauber. Ausserordentlich freundliches Personal, schöne und gemütliche Bar und wir konnten unser Auto auf einem hoteleigenen Parkplatz gebührenfrei abstellen.

Leider gab es nachts Lärm von Personen auf der Strasse, die feierten. Ein Zimmer auf der, von der Strasse abgewendeten Seite, wäre ruhiger gewesen.

Ideal location for town centre. I had a room overlooking the car park at the back of the hotel, so it was very quiet. Friendly reception staff. Lovely Indian restaurant attached to the hotel.

The breakfast was fairly limited but excellent quality, we're both vegetarians and there were cooked options for us. The chef came out to ask us if we were enjoying the food, in fact the breakfast service was very good indeed. Coffee was good, [I'm a Londoner so a bit of a coffee snob], it would have been nice to have a better fruit selection. The staff were all very competent. The air-con in the room was very welcome - although no instructions were provided and it took us a while to work it out. The location of the hotel was very good being just outside the centre of town and walkable from the train station.

So our room, [208], was described as a 'King sized classic', it was tiny with hardly enough room for one person let alone 2! We were told that the hotel was fully booked so we couldn't have changed for another. There weren't enough coat hangers and we had to get some more. If you wanted the usual 'shower cap' and other bits and pieces you had to pick them up from reception they weren't automatically provided in the room. The room was comfortable enough but a little tired in places, especially the bathroom. There was no view! Instructions for the air con would have been welcome. There wasn't a lift, or anyone to carry your luggage, so if you have mobility issues I'd advise the ground floor.

Lovely old building with quirky features. Air conditioning in the bedroom was brilliant as the weather was so hot. Very comfortable beds. Helpful friendly staff.

While at breakfast the bed was stripped and shortly after returning to the room having eaten a cleaning lady came in supprised we were there. Not something i expected. The rooms have no view beyond a brick wall. We tried 2 rooms obviously others were unavailable

Windows can not be fully opened so the air is a bit stuffy in the room (even with the AC on). But also understandable as we were at the ground floor.

Great location, free parking, happy hour, lovely staff who were very helpful and saved us a potential ticket when we parked our car in an EV charging space (these were not there last time we visited).

Only issue was the AC condensers and rectifiers outside our bedroom window. These were quite loud and we would avoid Room 208 next time.

As soon as you walk through to reception, your met with a welcoming smile by the staff, and the room was beautiful and spotless, I'm already booked up for a long weekend 😀. Thank you so much to all the staff who love's there jobs,I can't wait to come again ...🥰 Thank you xxxxx

We had no hot water in the morning so had cold showers. We reported the problem but it wasn't sorted in time. The breakfast was very limited, despite an assurance of vegan options, soggy and tasteless and overpriced.

An old property on the outside but very modernised on the inside. We stayed in the king superior suite. It was very spacious, comfortable air conditioning, the bed was sooooo comfortable if I could score higher I would! Exceptional breakfast, wonderful friendly staff, would definitely stay there again

Not a dislike as such but no lift so if you struggle with the stairs it might be an issue. Also would have preferred a shower cubicle rather then a shower over bath but wasn’t an issue for us.

I had to switch rooms because I wanted to stay an extra night. Both rooms were comfortable and well equipped although the single room was pretty compact. The air conditioning during a heatwave was excellent. The staff were charming and reception very helpful. A short walk from the historic centre. There is a reasonably priced multi storey carpark nearby. No evening meals but plenty of options within easy walk.

This is a comfortable modern hotel in an old building but it is not a character property. Not Ye Olde Coaching inn for example. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. You will probably want to help yourself to coffee because the breakfast staff seemed to disappear once they had you seated and had taken your order for freshly cooked eggs!

The hotel was in a central part of the city, and the reception staff were helpful.

My room was opposite a nightclub and on the Saturday night the music was like being in an MIR,I realise that there's not much they can do about it, but it's worth, mentioning it for others. Also for breakfast I requested poached eggs on toast, which were delivered without toast.. odd, I was told I had to makey own toast! To make it worse when I went to eventually eat them they were practically hard boiled. So to give everyone another chance, I asked for some more poached eggs done correctly, soft and runny, on toast. Take 2 exactly the same, hard boiled and no toast. I gave in and left! ......... To be fair 5 minutes later my bedroom door was being knocked on and when opened he said the 3 egg was now ready, as I was in a rush, so we said it was on the house and there was a drink behind the bar, so at least they tried.

Hotel car park was full when I arrived at 14.45 and after a 3 hour drive to have to look for parking was unwelcome hassle.

Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Lage war gut und obwohl ein Nachtclub gegenüber war, konnte man keinen Lärm hören.

Es gab im Zimmer zu wenig Ablage Flächen bzw Stauraum. Koffer konnte nicht ausgepackt werden.

Basis confort ontbrak; -Ruim onvoldoede haakjes om iets op te hangen - geen opberg ruimte voor toiletzak en andere gerief - geen bankje in de badkamer om even te zitten of ons te verzorgen - ontbijt voldoet niet aan de verwachtingen ( eieren onvoldoende gaar broodjes nog bevroren, geen kaas,…) - bij het avondeten konden wij geen mineraal water krijgen bij de bar !!!!

Zeer weinig plaats om kledij of toilet gerief op de bergen, waardoor alles in de valiezen moest blijven.

Good location in the centre of town.

My small dark single room cost £96, not including breakfast. I felt that was expensive, especially when there was black mould growing in the seal around the bath. Bath was also high to climb into to take a shower with no grab rail.

Great location. Had to use the public parking 1st couple of days. Only 3 minute walk from hotel, but warning, do not forget your GPS when you go to retrieve your vehicle because the exit puts you directly on the express way.

The room was ridiculously tiny, it should only be sold as a single room. The bathroom was cheap and very basic fittings, hardly any room to move. We had a king-sized bed and there was only six inches between the bed and the bathroom wall. The price we paid was not budget level and we would expect a much better standard of accommodation for that.

This was good for a one night stay, booked at the very last minute. Although it was on the ground floor, facing the back garden, the window was secure enough. It had AC, which made it more comfy. Bed was decent. I had the option to leave my luggage for a few hours at the reception, although it was not locked nor did I receive a tag for leaving it there. I believe a receptionist is always present there, though. Location is good, you are very close to main attractions, Salisbury is a relatively tiny place so you can easily walk everywhere

The room is very small and the carpet, although vacuumed, would need a deep clean/ refresh. Toilet seat bad quality. I had the first room on the corridor, so could hear most people coming in. Also, cleaners started briefly vacuuming at weird hours, 10pm and then 7:30am..wtf? Overall, it felt 40-50% more expensive than what it's worth, but for a last minute, single night stay, it was doable
