Not to much to be honest, booked car parking, didn’t happen. Said they’d not received application. It was grubby in places. Over priced at £ 175 no breakfast. I know it was city centre but there was a wedding on the night we stayed wished we could’ve been told. Worst of all, all messages from you start ‘Hi Bone’ not Mr! Not Alan ! Staff when I mentioned anything dismissed my complaints

Superfijne locatie middenin het centrum
Parkeren is wat onhandig
Characterful old coaching in. Friendly staff
Being an old building didn’t lend itself to a modern hotel. Price was a bit high.
The staff were lovely, we even got to meet the resident cat, the hotel has some amazing history loved the atmosphere in here very clean room too.
The only thing was the king bed wasn't very comfortabe.
Location, facilities, breakfast.
Some noise early morning from the fans / heaters/ kitchen's I'm guessing. More to do with the room location.
Common areas were run down and not taken care of. Hotel sign on street looked to have 50 years of dirt on it.
Cleaner
Location
Noise level, due to people screaming and swearing after coming out of a different venue until 3am so could not sleep.
The staff were rude and unmotivated, the breakfast room was poorly replenished. And no lemon or lime available for a £12 G&T!
Breakfast supplies were slow to be replenished, and several people had to wait and remind staff to fetch more from the kitchen
Room was near a noisy extraction fan which started up as it was getting light
Ambiance d'un autre temps so British !
Location
Service very bad mimimum staff breakfast cold and coffee machine broken, hotel needs a deep clean
Breakfast was OK . Breakfast staff did not interact with guests, stood like statues. Hotel location was good.
No evening meals, Hotel maintenance is poor. cleanliness is average. Hotel needs capital investment to up date and up grade.
Excellent
There should have been a disabled toilet and I mean a proper disabled toilet in the main building and not an easy access one - the disabled toilet is in the function room and the receptionists was not keen to show it to me which was not good.
room was fine, breakfast was great.., pick your own and so much ckoice. the location was ideal for me , only two miles travel to my destination.
they had a privat party the night i stayed, my room overlooked the courtyard and it was very noisy into the early hours of sunday morning...not good with no warning.
Fijne locatie
Erg gehorig
Unusually old hotel in a good location with a superior room
A bit tired in common areas and the bar could have been so much more of a venue considering the splendid courtyard
Loved my room, the hotel, staff and the location and my day was set up with a hearty breakfast.
Having to leave.
The location and the staff
Noisy party going on until 2am restaurant was not available
Good location
Room vibrated until 11.30pm with very loud music underneath as was a function on. Very expensive room and no consideration
Staff and the food
I liked everything about the Hotel It is by far, one of the best I have ever stayed in.
Really home from home, very clean and cosy
Location
Breakfast wasnt great
Lovely looking property, very convenient for shopping and eating.
Our room was lovely when we first opened the door however on further inspection the shower hardly worked just dribbled, the sink plug was jammed so my husband who is a plumber fixed it so it would empty, we found the room quite tired and in need of a makeover, expensive for what we got.
Helpful staff, historic building and site, good value for money, right in the centre of Salisbury
Posizione ottima e zone comuni fascinose.
Colazione nella norma, da migliorare.

Dusty and crumbled sheets

All good
Lovely courtyard and building, steeped in history. Very central. The staff were very accommodating with locking up our bikes securely. Liked having a bath and a small living area in our room.
The bed was a tad small and hard. Our friends got a much bigger bed for the same price.
the location was good
needs a refurb.stairs were very dirty and dusty.windowsndid not open so bedroom was realy hot.
Jahrhundert.
Location
Security to the bedrooms wasn’t as secure as I would like. The door was often found open
Suggestivo. Buona la posizione per visitare la Cattedrale. Colazione buona.
Zentrale Lage. Für ein oder zwei Übernachtungen OK.
The Inn itself is really lovely in a great central location but with some major drawbacks. Parking is a nightmare . The long term lot behind the hotel was crazy to find a spot and when you do, you have to be up and out by 8:00AM to pay for your spot again. Not having sir conditioning on a hot day is horrible. They do provide a fan but with having to keep your windows open, pretty noisy.
Location.
NA
Ligging, behulpzaamheid personeel
Beautiful place to stay , ideal location, our 2nd stay here.
The staff were not as attentive this time, on our previous stay the staff were rushed off their feet but still made sure they smiled and kept on top of their work, breakfast was constantly refilled and nothing ran out, this time staff were just present.
The location was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Interesting building.
Breakfast was awful. Food was dry and overcooked. Kept having to go and find staff to replenish items. Pastries were stale. So bad we cancelled breakfast on the second morning and got a refund. Toilet roll was not replaced on holder after room had been serviced. Duvet cover had a split on the seam so the duvet poked out.
It had a very good location staff were very friendly and helpful. It was clean and tidy.Nice buffet breakfast.
The room was small but being a old building they just did for a night
Fantastic building with loads of history. Room was very nice, bed was very comfortable, staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice but could have been warmer
Some of the food at breakfast was only just warm, no one really keeping an eye on it, shame.
Un peu vétuste
Lovely room, great staff lovely ambiance
Nothing
We stayed for two nights. We decided to have breakfast, which at £14.50 seemed on the high side. However on the first morning we went to the restaurant for the breakfast there didn't appear to be any staff on duty. We did however see someone clearing up briefly. The orange juice had run out and I had to go to reception to ask for some. I didn't like the look of the fried eggs or the scrambled eggs so I had to go to reception to ask for a poached egg. The bacon was as tough as eating beef jerky. The sausages weren't any better. We decided to have a pan au chocolate. They were extremely stale. We cancelled our breakfast for the second morning. We were quite relieved that they didn't provide dinner otherwise we may have been doubly disappointed. The hotel itself was looking a bit tired. It is definitely not a four star as it claims. The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. They were let down by the hotel. The room we stayed in was OK. But again not of four star quality. The one positive is the central location. Everything within Salisbury is easy walking distance. I think the AA, who have awarded the four star rating, or Best Western need to inspect this hotel with a view to reviewing its status.
The location
No air conditioning in hot summer
The shower was just drizzle.. no pressure. The overhead lighting didn’t work. There was no fridge - this was a suite There were cobwebs and very dusty. Old gloomy furniture which looked tired and unattractive. All very dated. Stale air. Depressing.
Room and courtyard lovely.
Staff promised to send on lost property but didn’t. Room was full of wasps coming in to die.
Convenient location
Decor rather tired
My husband and I stayed whilst visiting a relative. Firstly the reception was very friendly and efficient but our room was so hot. I know the weather exceptionally hot and there was a fan. The room was clean and spacious. There were several stains on the floor of the lift which were still there 2 days later. How difficult is it to take a mop to it. The breakfast was truly awful obviously cooked at the start of service. Bacon inedible eggs hard. The area around the drinks machine was filthy and nothing had changed by the next morning. Such a lack of care left a very poor experience.
Excellent location in city centre. Comfortable room with fans provided to keep the room cool as the hotel isn't air conditioned due to its age.
There could have been more electrical sockets, as we needed to charge our devices. If there were, we sisn't managero find them.
Ligging in Salisbury is prima.
Kleine kamers, heel warm en geen airco. Ontbijt was minimaal.
Its location is excellent and the room was very comfortable and spacious.
Not enough breakfast staff on duty. The side parking spaces had equipment and a storage cabinet in their rears, reducing the parking space available when removing luggage from the boot.
Idyllisches geschichtsträchtiges Haus, sehr zentral gelegen Hilfsbereites freundliches Team
Viele Stufe
The property is central but difficult to get to as a one way system Sophie at reception is amazing. ❤️❤️❤️
The rooms are tired and lacklustre. The net curtains were missing sliders snd hung badly. I was in a n expensive room £209 for 1 night. Bed was comfy. But would be better to have Breskfast included
Didn’t have breakfast. The location is perfect, and the courtyard so nice to sit out in. And very helpful letting us leave our case while we explored.
Nothing.
Great location, staying in historical building and private parking
At breakfast staff could have been more attentive to refill offerings or support.
Centrale ligging was ok. Personeel erg vriendelijk
Kamers erg warm. Veel geluid overlast van een afzuig installatie. Vreemd lucht op de beneden verdieping
Location and Size of room.
Car parking was confusing to start with. And car parking in the council car oark close by was cheaper to pay as you go, not through the hotel. 1 bedside light did not work, and the bathroom needs a make-over.
La posizione
Camere decisamente brutte, male arredate e piccole da morire senza aria condizionata. Ambienti vecchi, spazi angusti , porte scrostate come i muri
Great location in the middle of Salisbury, and we loved the historic building. The room was spacious (effectively a mini-suite). Despite some issues with service, the cooked breakfast was tasty.
Receptionist was a little 'off hand'. We had to come back to reception to get clearer instructions for how to find our room - and noticed somebody else having to do the same. Although the quality of the food was good, breakfast was disappointing, with key items (e.g. milk for cereal and tea/coffee) not getting replenished and us not being greeted and informed where to sit. Only two teabags in the room. Struggled to get reception on several channels with either of the TVs in the room.
Location was excellent, the room was a decent size and the quality of decoration was as expected. A bath and shower was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast had everything we could wish for. A little on the pricey side but for mid-holiday season, that is to be expected. Overall an enjoyable stay but would probably try somewhere different.
Inadequate parking for such a large hotel. We were lucky to be able.to.find a spot in the Brown Street carpark, which is close but usually full and 3 hours maximum. The parking voucher from reception helps greatly but if the Brown Street car park is full, it's a bit of a trudge as it was when we arrived at midday. The 'flusher' on the toilet was broken and could only be operated by lifting the lid of the cistern. Reported this. (Room 93). View was of the carpark and there was a water leak onto a flat roof by the rear window by the bathroom, that kept us awake until we became used to it.!
Room was good. we had upgraded. all amenities as expected. Breakfast was not so good, items missing on first morning, cups/mugs/yogurt, butter. 2nd morning it was better, as more staff filling up. No evening meals, no staff manning the bars, we had to go and find someone. it generally seemed very understaffed. Loved the courtyard,
mostly, it was understaffed.
Le petit déjeuner
L'absence d'ascenseur
Central location for exploring Salisbury. Facilities were good. Food very good. Staff polite and helpful
Shame there was no way to cool the room at night. Keeping the window would result in traffic noise. Fixed price for breakfast (£16.50) No option for just tea and toast.
L'emplacement, l'accueil, l'équipement
Rien
It’s court yard and central location
Build is starting to look tired. Lack of evening meal service I thought was poor for a supposed 4 star hotel. I also thought £15 a night to park a motorcycle was extremely expensive.
Uteområdet var flott. Grei frokost
Litt slitt hotell. Betjeningen ga ikke mye service
Atmosphere...Location..Hotel cat. Is there such a thing as the "best"BestWestern Hotel. I think so and I ve been in a lot. Excellent Location just a yards away from Market square. The hotel is a beautiful old building with delightful courtyard that is somehow unexpected. Its calm quiet and beautifully set out. Inside the the atmosphere is wonderful. Lovely old things to see and enjoy, well laid out rooms tastefully decorated. Its tired and a bit worn but i think thats the icing on the cake and its hard to think how any major changes would omprove the overall Red Lion experience. Staff, Overall really helpful and interested in their customers. Knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms We stayed what i think is the older main part of the hotel, 22 lovely old room with a natural quirke and charm. Comfortable bed and well appointed. Bathroom was roomy and bright. Breakfast, Usual BWH fair well cooked and plenty of it. as ever with buffet breakfasts some items are hotter than others. Hotel Cat .. If you are lucky enough and the cat can be bothered you get her company in the court yard The hotel s best features are its atmosphere and age. Any "improvement" may not be in keeping. A thoughtful sensetive lick of paint and a bit more attention to hoovering is all thats required. Will stay again
Parking. I was lucky and read the re views (which dont do the place justice and i m not sure what people are expecting) and notices a comment re parking. There are 3 spaces. There is nearby parking . Ring or email ahead. We did and helpful staff sorted it out.
Room was comfortable
Wer thought there was an understaffing issue. Plates were not collected in the courtyard and attracted swarms of flies, no cutlery at breakfast, malfunctioning co0ffee machine because nobody had checked to see if the drip tray needed emptying.
Location molto bella e personale disponibile e accogliente, comodo al centro città
Posizione centrale
There was not a lot that I liked about the hotel itself. The location was probably the best thing, although the staff were good.
Rooms are very dated. The room comfort is not great. Noise from people just walking around the hotel can be heard at all times, especially from my room it felt like everytime someone in the room above the floorboards were creaking. Also needs to be made clear that the food is only available until lunch time.
Charming architecture and interior decoration. The receptionists were lovely. A cute and friendly cat on the premise
Shower had no pressure and took many minutes before the water became warm. The room gets very hot without an AC. The staff sets tables in the courtyard before 6am making huge noise. The walls are very thin and we can hear the next door neighbour's voice, bustling, etc.
cleanines of room and location
bed uncomfortable and pillows Court yard could have been swept, seemed little dirty
The location was good, close to the centre of Salisbury, with a car park close by. The courtyard was delightfully peaceful, great to enjoy afternoon tea or a drink from the bar.
It would have been nice for evening meals to be available but the staff were very helpful in recommending several places to eat locally, within walking distance.
THE ROOM WAS IN A NICE AND QUITE LOCATION LOOKING OVER A CAR PARK AND NOT THE MAIN ROAD. THE BATHROOM HAD A ROLL TOP BATH AND A SEPARATE SHOWER CUBICLE. KING SIZE BED WHICH WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND A DECESENT SIZED TV (A HATE HAVING A ROOM WITH A SMALL TV). THE YOUNG MAN ON THE BAR WAS VERY GOOD AT HIS JOB AND FOUND TIME TO HAVE A CHAT WITH ME ABOUT THE TOWN AND PLACES TO VISIT NEAR BY. THE HOTEL ALSO CATERS FOR WEDDINGS AS WELL AND IS AN EXCELLENT BACK DROP AS THE HOTEL/ COACHING INN DATES BACK TO 1220.
THERE WAS NOTHING I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE HOTEL.
Certains personnels peu accueillants
Location was perfect and the room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped
Very nice place
I liked everything, but unfortunately the television channels are very weak and the signal is terrible…
Tge hotel is centrally placed close to shops etc. The downside of tgat is that coaches can't pick up outside. It has a lovely courtyard with plenty of tables and shade and was handy for the bar, udeal for our group to gather before meals. It's an old building, which inevitably means various changes of level. When I arrived that was a bit of a problem. Struggling to find our room with 2 suitcases and a rucksack a member of staff did give me directions, but holding the door open for me or warning ne about the 4 steps down a couple of feet geyond the door would have helped more. The hotel was clearly understaffed with reception staff filling in to serve meals and our room was serviced only once in a four day stay and that missed the fact that we were down to our last toilet roll. It also meant regular visits to receptipn to replenish stocks of tea and milk. We were with a group so we're given no choice about evening menu (except vegetarian or gluten free) and on at least one evening a lot of main courses were untouched or half eaten. A Red Pepper risotto, not as Primo Piatto but the main! Overall a mixed experience.
