Really lovely and welcoming hotel

Very good central location close to cathedral and the high street and driving to Stonehenge etc. Helpful staff and very easy parking right behind the hotel. Has stairs but obliging Staff carried our heavy bags upstairs for us.

A very poor stodgy evening meal for older guests wanting meal in hotel that was served in a dogs-allowed ‘cafeteria’ type room with zero atmosphere and noticeably very few other room guests dining in. (10 Sep 26). Breakfast in the dining room (!) on 11 Sep was good and noticeably well patronised.

Central city location. Pretty garden/terrace area where you could have breakfast or just sit out. Decent breakfast.

The restaurant was closed for evening meals (you could eat in a cafe area but it didn’t look very inviting). It may have just been closed for a function.

Best hotel breakfast I've had in the UK! The hotel was close to the centre and the staff were friendly and efficient. Our Classic room was small but comfy. The bespoke decoration added a touch of class. All Hotels should have a symbol on the roof for ease of location.

Our room faced a busy main road which was kinda noisy. The breakfast room chairs were a little on the low side for someone with bad knees and the toilet roll was thin and cheap so I needed to use twice as much!

Vicki on reception was helpful and friendly. We were looked after at dinner by Luke and Jack who were very good too. Dogfriendly hotel.

I thought I had booked a specific room but when I arrived this was not available. The room I was given fronted onto the main road and was noisy. I asked to change rooms but this proved impossible. Breakfast excellent and location of hotel excellent. I will stay again but hopefully not in the same room or fronting the road.

Rooms were shabby and in need of updating. Shower gel was completely empty. Room wasn’t clean. Found old wrappers on the floor, dust and cobwebs and dead spiders. No in-room fridge. No room service. We were given a room at the front of the hotel which is on a pretty busy road so was very noisy and the room shook when buses passed 😂

Friendly staff, clean & tidy room, air conditioning worked well. Stayed for a cousin’s birthday dinner, food was fantastic. Highly recommended and the breakfast was good too.

Warm welcome at reception but not very useful when it came to arranging parking. Room was ok, cleaner did a good job. Breakfast not great, dreadful toaster that either cremated or left bread untoasted. Rubber fried eggs, no table cloths. No tea cups only mugs. Not great really.

Hotel as been stripped of any character, one of the reasons I booked, no helpful directions, just left to get on with unpacking car, finding room and so on. The restaurant was like a cheap cafe, no table cloths etc. Staff all nice and friendly but when eating a booked meal the only staff member kept vanishing and I and other residents were kept waiting, (he was apparently covering another event in the hotel) Only two Alcohol drinks available and one was out of stock. All the decor of the hotel was covering what should have been nice features, it was very bland and disappointing for a hotel with such a rich heritage and reputation.

The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable.

We came during a wedding reception when hotel was fully booked. Reception staff were flustered and all a bit chaotic. We didnt get the information about the room until later in the evening alongside instructions on breakfast etc. Breakfast was a bit lacking. Stuff was super friendly but as it was very busy food had run out, tables too despite their best efforts.

The man on reception was brilliant. Super friendly and helpful. There wasn't a fridge in our room so he saved our food in their fridge :) There was no aircon but we were fine with a fan.

Edificio d'epoca ma completamente rinnovato, staff gentilissimo e very friendly, parcheggio privato a £7,50, no lift, camera ampia, ben arredata e bagno pulitissimo, a pochi passi dalla sontuosa Cattedrale e dalla Market squadre con pub e ottimi bakery shops. L'hotel dispone anche di un ottimo ristorante su un giardino molto romantico.

It was close to Anne Street Gate to The Cathedral Close. Staff were helpful and courteous. Really appreciated the air conditioning in the rooms. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, I couldn’t fault it.

Decor in the breakfast room needs attention. Charge for hotel parking on hotel property unecessary.

Lovely room and facilities - we got upgraded so our room had air conditioning which was much appreciated in the very hot weather! Nice touches like complimentary drinks and dressing gowns, slippers and coffee machine available made it even nicer.

Breakfast was below a erage, no fried eggs, asked, told would be 5 miss, never arrived. Food bordered cold, staff seemed more caring of efficiency for them, ie running the food down at 9am rather then thinking of the guest,who had paid over£200 for onenight

Breakfast room too noisy, even though marked as sound proofing, only 2 mugs and glasses a d there is a dishwasher! Looks like there were a pair of white pants wrapped around one of the smoke alarms, did inform reception

Great location. Stones throw from the Cathedral and the town centre. This was our second visit and both times we have found the staff fantastic, really good, going above and beyond. Just so helpful, particularly The duty manager (Joseph) and the 2 ladies on reception on Sunday 2nd. They even came out to the car park to help with a problem we had with our car! Fantastic.

The outside space was lovely and cool for a late afternoon drink.

Location is great. Easy access to this beautiful City. Parking is available, Train Station is close too. You can even pop to London for the day plus the Station is a quick Taxi ride away from the Hotel. I didn't have breakfast or eat in the Restaurant as this was a flying visit.

Reception isn't always manned, which is frustrating when you either have a question or need assistance

We were upgraded to an apartment. It was sleek and modern, and the extra space was great with a baby. Staff were very accommodating, provided a cot without asking even though we forgot to request one. Apartment was fully air-conditioned. Gluten free options available for breakfast, with dedicated separate toaster located the other side of the room from gluten containing ingredients.

Room modern, clean and comfortable, very spacious with plenty of storage. Air conditioning really welcome and easy to control. Shower room modern, spotless with excellent shower.Location was very central within a short walk of bars, restaurants and the cathedral. The breakfast was varied with plenty of choice. Loved the courtyard area which had the most beautiful planters shady areas and very nice garden furniture to sit and relax with a drink. Parking was very easy.

Nothing to dislike, rooms start on second floor, ours was on the third/top floor and as there was no lift might be a problem for some. We didn’t find it a problem, the stairs were not steep and were easily manageable.

Staff were brilliant ,front desk team great.The support to change booking dates were outstanding and was very appreciated by the whole party of two ,who used the hotel.

No bottled water in room, overgrown foliage on courtyard garden area, the staff at breakfast were slow to clear away breakfast dishes and the breakfast was not to the standard expected for a hotel of this quality. breakfast was pre cooked and left to kept warm on grill, the tea and coffee was simple jug of hot water, no teapots as normal expected with this type of hotel, towels in bedroom were clean but well used and hard to touch.

Nous avons eu un upgrade dans la réservation : on a eu la chambre la plus grande de l'hôtel ! Chambre hyper confortable, personnel adorable, je recommande fortement. Malgré le fait que c'est une chaîne, on est dans un bâtiment historique et donc ce n'est pas du tout désincarné. A l'arrivée, à la réception on nous a recommandé de prendre le petit déjeuner et de le charger à la chambre (12,95£) plutôt que de le payer à l'avance (16£ prix fixe pour tous les hôtels de la chaîne). Excellente recommandation ! Il y a une petite cour dans laquelle on peut petit déjeuner, au calme et très belle. Superbe hôtel !

The location is very good, and the staff is very friendly. The bed was really comfortable, and the shower was nice. The ground floor, with the TV and sofa, was very comfy.

The bar does not sell cocktails :-/. Please clean the dust off the windows and the heater.

Expensive for the facilities provided but pretty. Lacking pressure for showers. You are forced to pay for parking despite paying so much for a room.

Staff were helpful and lovely. The rooms were clean and well looked after. Parking was convenient for a town centre hotel.

The air conditioner in the first room failed in the night and started leaking loudly. Then later it dumped water all over the floor near the door.

This review relates to the hotel and not the apartments. The latter are situated in a seperate block on the other side of the car park. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They assisted me with several issues that arose during my stay. Please note that in addition to the cost of the hotel, there is a seperate charge for the car park at £7.50 per day. The hotel is in a good location and 5 mins to the city centre shops and a little more to the cathedral. Salisbury feels very safe when walking around. I understand from reception that the hotel is currently being refurbished. I believe this will be beneficial as there are several areas which look a little tired and dated and need modernising. When I last visted this hotel breakfast was a buffet. An additional hot breakfast was cooked fresh with a member of staff taking your order. However things have changed and it was completely a buffet style on this occasion. The food obviously just kept hot. This hotel has a lovely courtyard to relax in during the evening. There are many advantages to this hotel, however I will look forward to the moderisation when it's complete which would then justify the price charged and the star rating.

Fantastic location with a great car park on site. Lively secluded courtyard to sit in. Room on 1st floor so easy to access. Bathroom clean and shower very good.

Run down property. Hotel room had some ivy growing into the room from a window - covered in Ivy. Air conditioner straight over bed and bed filled whole room so couldn’t use unless you stood by room door for a while. Very dusty and room had lots of little moths in the carpet. Only 2 pillows and no extras in wardrobe.

PARKING: open air backyard wall delimited, but without gate. It's a public (pay-for) area directly connected to the hotel, where the property has some reserved spots. Lucky for me there were some corners under the stairs and could leave my motorcycle covered. Cameras cover the area near the hotel passage. Since my vehicle didn't take an entire car spot, I got the parking for free. Very kind. CHECK-IN: might get busy at late time, but all went well. STAFF: very nice and kind. I ended up buy some refreshment for them, as we all were struggling with the heatwave. WIFI/VPN: works. AIR CONDITIONING: yes they have! That was their best surprise! STYLE: English maison, mostly renovated, with some character, lots of carpets and very nice patio. POWER WHEN YOU LEAVE: stays on. CLEAN: yes, indeed, very much. BATHROOM: clean, functional, in style with the rest and much more spacious than the room. QUIET: the village itself it's quiet. Walls are old, one might hear some cracking of the floor or stairs, but nothing ruining your sleep. LOCATION: very central, the whole village is small, but the few things to do and see are just right after the next corner. SERVICES AROUND: minimarkets, pharmacies, atms, anything you need. VALUE FOR THE MONEY: very good in my opinion, a couple of square meters more in the room would have made it perfect. RESTAURANT IN WALKING DISTANCE: yes, some options walking about five minutes in the market area, but many of them close the kitchen already at 8pm.

SIZE: worked for me for one night solo stop (might very well for few more nights), but very tight if you want to accomodate 2 persons.

The location was perfect and the hotel is just lovely, full of character. Our room was lovely and the breakfast was delicious a great start to a day of sightseeing. Above all the staff were great especially the reception staff who were very friendly and informative.

Das Hotel liegt super, wenn man Salisbury zu Fuß erkunden will. Alles liegt fußläufig. Das Ambiente des alten Gebäudeteiles war sehr schön. Der kostenpflichtige Parkplatz hinter dem Hotel war auch gut gelegen. Das Personal im Hotel war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war gut und reichhaltig. Ich komme gerne wieder.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel and cannot recommend it enough. The location is absolutely perfect, making it incredibly easy to explore everything Salisbury has to offer. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. A huge bonus for us was how genuinely dog-friendly they are – our pup was treated with so much kindness! My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer because we had to continue our journey. We are already planning to return to Salisbury in the future, and we will definitely be staying at this hotel again. Highly recommended!

This room was noisy - right over the main road and traffic lights. There were some boy racers but most of the noise was volume of traffic passing through town.
