Reviewed Aug 25, 2026The location of the premises is good. Safe parking and very secure. It is in a very quiet area with no vehicle noises and disturbances.
The layout of the room. The double bed is against the wall and a grown up must enter the bed from the bottom. Due to the fact its against the wall there is no side table for anything, just a shelve above your head. The toilet is next to the coffee table, that is a little too much. No place for a lady to do hair with a blow-dryer, due to no plug near a mirror.

Reviewed May 8, 2026I wanted to share my experience from my recent stay. When we arrived at the house, the host was extremely drunk and could barely communicate. To make matters worse, he claimed that the key had been stolen from the box, which felt like a lie. I genuinely felt unsafe around him; he was disrespectful and not helpful or generous in any way. Because of this discomfort, I decided it was best to leave.
The owners (host) were drunk! And lie about the key that was stolen from the box! Which leave us to not entering the room.

I am definitely staying there again for my trips to McGregor and to the Springfield Winery at Robertson (which was lovely and welcoming: a place recommended by the owner). I bought some bottles from there as well as from Robertson Winery for their exceptional deals. Thank you for a lovely comfortable stay, Mr H! It was also a safe and nice area so 10/10 as everything as advertised was delivered. 👍

Reviewed May 4, 2025Herman was extremely friendly. Offered us help when required. Went out of his way to bring a braai closer to main house. Great secure parking and lovely areas to sit outside.
A little more TLC, larger towels for ladies, and more than 1 towel, Hand soap would be great and a larger bin for rubbish disposal. And a bin in each room. a place where you could wash your dishes would also be nice. Having said that, i would definitely return and recommend this spot to others.

Reviewed Mar 3, 2025Value for money was excellent. We had a rainy evening but still did a Braai and the owner was kind enough to join us for a drink which gave us greater knowledge of the area . It’s a lovely I think colonial house with lots of character . Probably need a car to enjoy the many interesting things to do in the area . One needs to do the wine train from Robertson station.
How can you dislike anything for the money!! PS Jack the dog is lovely!!

No aircon, fan is not working, we luckily had our own fan with us. There is not even rusks in the room at coffee station. Not value for money. My daughter and I was on roadtrip, slept in a few places for the same price, and this was the worst experience. No attention to detail, nothing nice.
