Kaikoura Beach Motel

We were very lucky to get unit 10. Right across the road from the beach. Beautiful view, beautiful accommodation. Free laundry.

Nothing it was great!!

Easy to find, good parking and clean rooms.

Handy to town. Great beds with plenty of room to move.

It was expensive for off season.

The location is superb. We paid a little extra for a room with a sea view and it was even better than we'd expected.. The unit was surprisingly large, quite modern, very clean and tidy.

The car parking for this particular unit was a bit odd - but it was easy and accessible.

Room smelt musty constantly like mould being covered up. Was no sound proofing so could hear everything including the neighbours throwing up in the night. Signage wasn’t lit up so finding at night night was so difficult. Still can’t get past how bad it smelt

Unfortunately the people in the room next door parked their car in front of our room which spoiled the view that we had paid extra for That is not the fault of the hotel but was disappointing especially for the beautiful sunrise that would have been amazing as we sat on the patio with our coffee

Could see the ocean and also liked that it had 2 rooms with living area separate. It wasn't out dated and there was a nice dining table, place to make food and area to sit and relax. Felt like home away from home. Had everything you need and loved that you could use the laundry room at no extra cost.

We ended up being here over the flooding in the area. The receptionist was wonderful and so helpful. The showers and bed definitely need a shoutout! Come here just for the shower. Location is awesome!

Nothing - it fit our needs perfectly. Being stuck in Kaikoura (flooding) we appreciated the kitchenette and comfortable space.

A bit of a musty smell when I first entered but it disappeared after airing the room. Luckily it was a nice warmish day.

Not really a proper motel- like a cross between a cabin and a hotel. Have never stayed in a motel with no toaster, microwave or sink. Needs to be clearer.

Price was very expensive for what facilities the unit contained. Some of the dishes were dirty.

We had a sea view unit and advise booking sea view if available. You have patio doors looking right across the street at the ocean. We loved it. The unit is clean, comfortable and practical. Large bathroom with good shower. We would stay there again. The heating and ac is located in the living area and not in the bedroom. This was no problem while we were there with mild weather.

Perfecto todo, recién renovado, empleados amables a través de la app, no pusieron problema con el late check in . Habitación y baño muy amplios, mucha comodidad. Repetiriamos sin dudar!

Le check out était fixé à 10h00. Nous avions une activité de planifier à 5h30 du matin et lui avons demandé si nous pouvions prendre une douche au retour de l'activité (avant 10h00 bien évidemment) avant le check-out. Nous avons eu une réponse négative

The location of this Motel was fabulous. A little further away from the main part of town, restaurants etc, but we were lucky to have Unit 10 which was at the front of the property with spectacular views

We couldn't watch free to air TV - something was wrong with the internet connection. We tried everything, even got the Manager over & once he left, it dropped out again. People from other units walking passed lounge & "gawking" in, so we had to shut the curtains

Stunning beach front views, just a walk across the road to the beach and a view over to the mountains. Very spacious apartment, clean and comfortable.Nice kitchen with equipment for cooking your own meals. Friendly host.Wish we'd been able to stay longer!

The bathroom seemed tight with the toilet next to the shower. Bright street light outside meant the room wasn't dark like we'd prefer it for sleeping.

Mooie locatie in Kaikoura. Aan zee. Prima voor 1 nacht

Jammer dat er geen gasfornuis/kookplaat met pannen aanwezig zijn in de gezamenlijke keuken. Zelf koken hier is praktisch niet mogelijk. Enkel één grillpan op stroom in een piepklein hokje. Verder zie je dat er van alles aan de muur heeft gehangen in de badkamer, maar er is geen moeite gedaan om dit te repareren of herstellen.

Communication with hotel regarding late (after 6pm) check-in was easy. Check-in staff were very polite. Motel has carpark space in front of each unit. There is a simple kitchen room with microwave, toaster and washing up area. There is also a common laundry room. Reception is shared with the higher-end Kaikoura Waterfront Apts. just next door. We found our room to be simple, spacious enough for two people. Importantly bed was comfortable, allowed for good night sleep. There was a two-seater sofa, coffee table, set of drawers with simple set of bowls, plates, coffee cups, glasses and cutlery with counter space for food, drinks. Room included a fridge, kettle, coffee & tea, telly, a handful of electrical outlets, good lighting. Wifi worked fine while we were there. Bathroom was fair-sized, shower water pressure good. Location is good, right along the beach, easy to walk across the street to enjoy the sunrise and views of the mountains to the north and the Kaikoura Peninsula to the south. The bulk of the the restaurants were 1.5 km north in the town centre, around 25-20 minute walk. Overall, this was a good stay, would gladly return to Kaikoura Beach Motel next time passing through.

Staff being available after 6pm would be nice.

Easy to find and nice welcome from Bernie on arrival. Spacious motel room with big, comfy bed and nice hot shower. Basic kitchen facilities for self-catering and supermarket nearby for purchasing food/drinks. Great view over the beach and very close to seal colony basking on the mudrocks. Many coastal path walks nearby for exploring. Car parking on site but also many parking spaces in road outside. Nice to have access to free laundry for washing clothes during our travels and laundry powder provided, thanks! Great for a short stay

There was a microwave, toaster, kettle and kitchen equipment provided for cooking in the motel room which limited self catered meals.

A stones throw from the seafront. Although we didn't use them, laundry facilities were available with no charge 😊

No kitchen sink so had to go to the communal one (right nextdoor to our room & noisy if someone is using it) to wash up any crockery etc
