Room only with self check-in and no staff. Shower had good pressure but water not warm enough and took a long time to heat up. No housekeeping service. Unkempt gardens. Such a shame as it is a beautiful house with a lot of potential and could be a lovely small hotel/bed and breakfast.

Good location

The window fastening was broken, the linoleum in the bathroom was rippled, the electronic fob for the front door stopped working on day 3 and I had to put the code in again, the wifi password was absurdly long but the wifi barely worked anyway. The cupboard doors and drawers didn't shut easily... The shower gave you lukewarm water no matter what you did.

The location was good, being just outside the centre of Inverary.

NO personal service. Advertised as a Country Guest House but in fact it was a self-check-in room in a house. You get more service from a Premier Inn. I was disappointed, and it managed to deliver a soulless welcome   🙁

Kameraüberwachung vor und im Haus! Fühlt man sich überhaupt nicht wohl, wenn jeder Schritt überwacht wird und über Lautsprecher eine Stimme kommt, die z.B. fragt was man da in der Hand hätte ( verboten war es take away essen mit auf das Zimmer zu nehmen )

L'emplacement et le devant de la maison

Chambre très petite, pas de possibilité d'ouvrir les valises ailleurs que sur le lit. Lit pas confortable. Salle de bains des années 60. La fenêtre de la chambre donne sur un terrain vague avec une citerne de kérosène.

Excellent peaceful location in quiet part of the village with picturesque beautiful views over a lovely garden with wildlife to watch. Very easy short couple of mins walk to cafes, restaurants , few shops and pubs. Perfect spot for a short getaway

Slightly dated decor but not a problem totally out weighed by being really excellent value for money in such a spectacular yet easy access location with public transport or a car

We had a great experience. The place is in a beautiful position on the lake and it has everything you need. The owner was very helpful and the experience was truly unique. Highly recommended.

La struttura è tipica, accogliente e carina. Siamo soddisfatti del soggiorno.

Le cadre. La chambre très agréable. Le lit très confortable. L’organisation efficace de l’accueil pourtant( malheureusement) déshumanisé ☺️.Le calme et le parking sur place.

J’ai regretté l’absence de réfrigérateur : les touristes qui passent à Inveraray sont en général itinérants donc mini-glaciaire indispensable.

Advertised as 4 stars, but it barely holds 3 stars as it looks right now; please see the photos for reference. The room is in dire need of repairs, the wall paint is peeling off, the sheets were torn and frayed, the garden view is phenomenal if you enjoy construction yards, huge spiders and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, a 20-year old TV that has about 5 channels and a very antiquated bathroom (the showerhead was spraying water everywhere but where it was supposed to).

Location to town early check in

From the outside it looked beautiful but inside was a disappointment. The room we had was extremely small and dated, damp on walls, shabby towels the place on a whole lacked love and care which is such a shame as it could be beautiful.

I had a wonderful stay at Creag Dhubh Country House. The room was spotless, comfortable and very quiet. I especially appreciated the thoughtful layout and the amount of storage space, which made it easy to unpack and settle in after a full day of exploring. The bed was also extremely comfortable and provided a great night's sleep after long hikes. Although I didn't receive the self check-in code through the Booking.com messaging system, a quick call solved everything. They were so responsive and friendly. The issue clearly came from the messaging platform, and I really appreciated how quickly they helped. The location is another real strength. Being only a few minutes' walk from the harbour, the castle, restaurants and shops made it easy to leave the car parked and enjoy Inveraray on foot. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. If I return to the area in the future, Creag Dhubh Country House will definitely be my first choice. Thank you again for your hospitality!

Beautiful property with everything you could possibly want for a stay. We booked the house for a two night stay as a joint birthday away for my husband and I. The room was perfectly located with a short walk to the town centre. The room was comfortable and had the most amazing view. I am a bath girl but the shower was great!

Location was near the loch and a short walk to the town. Asked if I could park on the driveway before check-in time and that was okay. Self check-in so I didn't get to meet anyone in person but with the instructions for access it was a simple task of getting in. Room had a comfy bed, TV, kettle, bathroom and towels. Wooden shutters on the windows to make it darker.

all very clean. the room could have being bigger for comfort, suitcases etc. the bathroom was ok but small needed updating. it was self check-in which was very convenient, and when we had some triouble (our fault - we misunderstood the camra for the lock) the owner imediately responded. its near the lake lake view from the lawn, and there are tables you can sit there. it was quiet!

Unfortunately we seem to follow in the steps of a number of people who find this a disappointment compared with what is held out as being on offer, reviews from earlier years, and what is actually available. Whilst the hall, landing and stairs have the feel of a country house hotel, the rest does not, more that of a (somewhat overpriced) guest house: self check-in, no communal sitting area, and without any breakfast, certainly when we stayed, being available.

L’emplacement était bien pour le roadtrip que nous faisions. La vue sur le loch.

La maison est clairement ancienne, et l’entretien ne semble pas au top. C’est vraiment dans son jus. La salle de bain est curieuse, c’est comme des murs en plastique dans la chambre elle-même. Nous avons trouvé très cher pour la qualité moyenne. Les coussins sont vieux et assez plats du coup 😕

the room was small and could have been better laid out, the view from the window was a bit of a building site. it felt under construction. there were photos on the website, the room was in them and it looked better than in reality.

The location was great. The owner was really friendly and perfect location for amenities.

The rooms were unequal in size. The bathroom didn't feel private. The garden room had no view, and the shower was tiny. The carpet strip was loose on the garden room, and the door would not lock. A trip hazard.

Wifi was good.

The entrance and the surveillance camera were high tech, but everything else needed updating. Missing pulls on the drawers, mildew on the shower (also very difficult getting in and out of that high pink bath tub), temperamental heating and the charging station didn’t work for USB ports.

It was an ok overnight stop but I was glad I didn’t have to stay any longer.

The standard of cleaning was questionable in places. The entrance hall could have done with a hoover and the bed linen had not been ironed. It was not good value for money being just a bed with basic en-suite built into the room.

Just a minor thing, there were no teaspoons in the room to make tea or coffee.

This is a lovely old house in a wonderful location - we had a large room with a beautiful view over Loch Fyne. It was well explained in advance that there are no staff on-site so no breakfast provided. That was fine with us - it obviously keeps the cost down. It was nice to find a drinks fridge in the room.

The mattress on the bed in room 2 is well past it's use-by date and badly needs to be replaced. It was noisy whenever either of us moved so we didn't sleep well.

wir hatten 4 Übernachtungen (24.-28.5.) im CREAG DHUBH COUNTRY HOUSE gebucht. Mit der Qualität der Unterkunft sind wir sehr unzufrieden gewesen, weil das Zimmer mehrere Mängel hatte: 1. Das Fenster ließ sich nicht verschließen, weil es mit einer Schraube fixiert war. Dadurch war es im Zimmer immer kühl und Stechmücken konnten ins Zimmer gelangen. Bei Regen kam Feuchtigkeit in das Zimmer. Dadurch konnten feuchte Kleidungsstücke nicht trocknen. Aufgrund der Nässe und Kälte im Zimmer sind wir nach 2 Tagen abgereist. 2. Die beiden Seifenkörbe waren verrostet. 3. Die Lüftung im Bad hat schlecht funktioniert und war sehr laut. 4. Das Zimmer war so eng, daß man den Schrank nur teilweise öffnen konnte. 5. Die Möbel waren teilweise staubig. Insgesamt hat das Haus einen vernachlässigten Eindruck hinterlassen. Auf all unseren Schottland-Reisen war das die schlechteste Unterkunft, die wir jemals hatten.

"budget" for me is Premier Inn. This was way overpriced for extremely poor offering. bathroom ceiling and wall was mouldy, bathtub didnt look any better re mould room was tiny - to say the least; no space for leaving a suitcase bed was utterly tiny and if one person moved, the other "jumped" up

One of the most beautiful hotel rooms I have ever had. Absolutely spotless and a view to die for. The hotel room has beautiful tea cups and wine glasses, even a mini fridge. Will definitely come back.

Basically just a room only accommodation. TV didn’t work and there was no one around to sort out. The gardens around the had been stripped of plants so nothing like the picture on Booking.com. Expensive for what it is.

Buona posizione e facilità di check-in, totalmente autonomo. Stanza e bagno puliti. Parcheggio privato comodo e molto vicino al centro del paese anche a piedi (10 minuti in totale). Bagno spazioso, con vasca da bagno anche nella stanza più economica.

Il letto era decisamente sfondato, non particolarmente comodo. La finestra dal piano terra, affacciata sul giardino, lascia poco spazio alla privacy, ottenibile solo chiudendo le tapparelle e quindi senza luce naturale.
