I cannot say enough positive things about this gem of a boutique hotel. With only 6 rooms, it is intimate and cozy. It isn’t just beautiful, it is set up like you are staying with friends. Everywhere you look is bright and color drenched, from the beautiful deep blue of our room to the flowers, plants and decorations. Every inch of this hotel is just stunning. There are cozy spots throughout that feel like your own terrace or backyard. Inside and out it is easy to find a nook to relax in. The owner is often found hanging out and is warm and charming. Hola James! Uriel was kind and welcoming and available to answer any questions, whether about our needs, the hotel, or SMA, he was easy to talk to. This was our first trip to SMA and he suggested numerous adventures and sights to see to make the most of our stay. So much of this place feels like home and we will be returning annually, at most. We spent 7 days here and after traveling through MX from Laredo to the Yucatan several times, this will be a consistent part of our future travels. Thank you to the family of Casa Camellia! Occasionally, during the night and once during the day, there was a fairly loud motor running, maybe a pump? it would cycle on and off every 15 or 20 seconds; earplugs fixed it, and it didn't happen often. Not sure what it was...

The property is in a very quiet area with ample outdoor space within the hotel, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and a wonderful restaurant onsite. The free breakfast offered with our stay was outstanding! Would recommend to anyone!

We could not figure out how to use our TV in the room and wifi was spotty in the room but worked great near the upstairs, shared kitchen area.

Our stay in Casa Camellia in May 2026 was a pure delight! I suppose, that I have never stayed at a more lovely accomodation before. Every single corner of the property is beautifully designed and decorated. Every element thought-through. The WhatsApp communication with Uriel was very helpful and so was Raoul, who welcomed us upon arrival. There's a lovely garden and plenty of plants and art. The adjacent Garden Art Cafe (Open until 5pm) serves breakfast for the hotel guests and offers lunch. The food was delicoius and they accomodate vegans. There are multiple common lounge areas, as well as a shared kitchen, where you can store food and prepare your own meals. I honestly regret that we only stayed for 2 nights! If I'm ever in Mexico again, I'd go to San Miguel de Allende just to stay at Casa Camellia!

Sometimes the wifi loses contact. You just switch to another network then.

Lugar silencioso durante la noche (experiencia rara con la lluvia fuerte que trae ruido blanco), con personales muy amables que atienden muy bien, y desayuno sabroso, elogio especial para las frutas bien dulces. I would have appreciated a bigger reduction for my room price for the work I (voluntarily) did on the 2 terraces.

En general, nos gusto mucho el hotel, la decoracion, las areas de estar muy bonitas, la atencion y recepcion de Laura, el desayuno muuy rico, y la ubicacion silenciosa y sin trafico. Sin duda volveriamos para quedarnos un poco mas de tiempo y disfrutar.

El hombre que me contesto al telefono no fue amable, llegabamos cansados del viaje y en vez de ayudar me decia que debia ver el mensaje con instrucciones que ya nos habian enviado. Ello porque la ubicacion que nos envio nos habia llevado a otro lugar y el insistia que lo habia enviado bien!

El lugar es precioso y todo el personal super amable, con la mejor actitud y disponibilidad. Teníamos que abandonar temprano la habitación y Uriel, el anfitrión, pidió que nos prepararan un delicioso desayuno para llevar incluído con el precio! Fue un precioso y valioso detalle para nosotros! Volveremos sin pensarlo!

This hotel was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Drenched in color and art, it was a visual feast. Breakfast in the patio cafe was wonderful with fresh fruit and vegan options for us. The shared spaces included multiple patios and gardens plus a complete kitchen for guest use and indoor seating area. Our room was perfect. Lovely decor, comfortable bed, AC worked well, great shower with plenty of hot water. Location is ideal, just a mile from the historic center. It was dreadfully hot during our stay and we ended up using Uber to get to town. However it’s not a long walk.

We couldn't have asked for a more charming experience in a quiet neighborhood. The artwork around the hotel and restaurant was wonderful. The food and service were very good. We arrived a little early and the staff quickly readied our room while we had a delicious meal. We did need to take either an Uber or taxi into town, but they were plentiful and quick to arrive. Good walkers could do it on their own. I would recommend this lovely hotel to anyone visiting San Miguel de Allende.

La qualité de la communication avec Uriel via WhatsApp en amont et durant le séjour, pour que tout se déroule au mieux. Réactivité et bons conseils. La qualité de la literie (drapeau et taie d'oreiller). La beauté de l'endroit combiné avec le café jardin bien entretenu et qui sert d'écran au bon petit-déjeuner selon la tradition mexicaine.

This is such a quaint and colorful, quirky place. It is lush and green and quirky. Its like a maze of bedrooms, courtyards and gardens. Everyone was very warm and helpful and fully accessible via WhatsApp. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms surprisingly roomy. Make sure to get the instructions for the hot water. There is a shared kitchen/living room space. There’s a shared fridge and a place to store some food in the kitchen, so you could make something if you want. There is a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. The neighborhood is very quiet and residential.

It is a bit of a hike up the hill into the Centro. It’s about $6 USD to take a DiDi.

La decoración de la casa es muy linda, acorde con el mood del pueblo. La atención de Uriel y el personal, excelente.

No funcionó el televisor, no tenía conexión a la red. Era muy tarde y no quisimos incomodar al anfitrión. No había recepción 24 h, sin embargo la atención del Uriel fue excelente.

Excelente atención del staff, las instalaciones son acorde al lugar, limpias y el desayuno incluido completo y muy bueno. Ubicación a 20 min a pie del centro

This was a three day couple trip. Casa Camelia was perfect - very unique, personal atmosphere decorated with love. Uriel was very attentive and helpful, and provided us with great tips. The Casa is in walking distance to the city center. Breakfast was great, and all staff we encountered very friendly. Highly recommend for all who are looking for a more personal experience off the beaten path. We will definitely come to casa camelia again.

Casa Camellia is a beautiful boutique hotel! The space is welcoming and peaceful, the service is fantastic and the Art Garden Cafe is lovely. This was our first visit to San Miguel de Allende but if we ever return we will definitely stay here again!

This is a very attractive hotel with colorful, Mexican style decor. The outdoor areas on both floors have lots of plants and flowers. There is beautiful artwork everywhere inside and out. My room was tastefully decorated, spacious, and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The owner and staff at Casa Camellia were very attentive. I took advantage of the shared kitchen that was very clean and well-appointed. The Art Garden Cafe that is part of this hotel serves delicious breakfasts and is very convenient.

Just a few things to be aware of. Due to the floor plan of the hotel, noise (conversations, music) from the Art Garden Cafe can be heard throughout the property. The hotel felt "off the beaten path" which is a plus in some ways, but because of this I took Uber to return to the hotel after dark. The average price of an Uber from Centro was less than $5US.

Lots of comfortable, nicely decorated living spaces available for guests to enjoy. Breakfast were delicious. Good strong coffee.

Loud party from across the street kept us awake late into the night. Hoping for future guests this is a one time event.

We love this charming boutique hotel in San Miguel Allende and are frequent visitors. Our room was super comfortable (as always) and we love using the kitchen to prepare a meal. Breakfast is usually included and is delicious. The staff is very friendly and we are grateful to Uriel for his always professional and kind attentions. I highly recommend staying at Casa Camilla in San Miguel.

Everything! The small hotel is located on a quiet pretty street in the San Antonia area. The interior is charming with beautiful garden areas and public rooms. The included breakfasts were varied and delicious. The staff was friendly and Uriel was an incredibly helpful host!

The location was a bit far from the center so we had to Uber to get to town and back. The breakfast was great and the staff prepared breakfast for us and left it in the fridge since we left at 6am. Very thoughful.I I wish there was a hair dryer in the room.

It is charming but I wish I could write a better review.

My stay deteriorated when I needed to stay an extra 2 nights and they would not honor their publicly printed rates. I could not believe they would treat a paying guest that way. The breakfast is very skimpy compared to the hotel I moved to. I had to take Ubers back at night because of the isolated location which adds to the cost. The hotel I moved to was less than half the cost, full service better location. Full, hearty, delicious menu for breakfast. More modern-looking, not as charming but a way better value for cost.

Location is good but outside the protected historic center. Going to the center requires a cheap Uber drive or 20 minute walk. Staff is great and friendly

It’s a gorgeous place, packed with charming details and very thoughtfully set up. Many of the rooms seem to be like small apartments, mine even had a private courtyard! It’s covered in lovely vibrant tiles, fairy lights and plants. And there is a resident cat! The room was cleaned daily and the staff were very nice. It’s in a quiet street only 15 minutes walk from the bus station in one direction and the centre of town in the other. There was plenty of hot water and all the little quirks of the place were carefully explained on checkin. There is a shared kitchen and lots of places to sit and chill out. I’m sad I didn’t stay longer.

Stunning decoration and ambiance. Lots of plants, seating areas, comfort and character. Uriel spoke excellent English and was very helpful , as were all the staff. Breakfast was excellent as was the Art Cafe. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Some people might find the steep cobbled walk in to town a bit hard but it wasn’t a problem for us.

very good location, not noisy part of the city, it’s a pleasant walk around 10 min to the center. The vibe of the place is incredible! It’s a small hotel, but you see that everything is made with care and attention. Very authentic interior, but at the same time all works great (good hot water pressure in the shower, AC, tv). Host is incredibly friendly and helpful, gave us lots of nice tips about the city! He was always reachable in WhatsApp ready to help with a new advice, we managed to easily extend our stay one more night, since fully fall in love with the city and the hotel! The breakfast is something from another world… omg! it’s something that was definitely making the whole day start perfectly! Individual approach, they can combine and adjust breakfast menu for you and its crazy Mexican flavors! Absolutely loved it! will definitely come back for authentic experience(:

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The Casa is beautiful, each of the rooms are unique, the breakfast delicious served at the restaurant in the Casa which has seating inside the courtyard surrounded by numerous plants and artworks from local artists. Our room was comfortable and we loved the artwork and furniture- we felt at we were staying at a friend’s casa. The most stand out feature was the staff, especially Uriel who was our host. He welcomed us, and went above and beyond helping us immensely with some extra requests. He also took the time to give us a tour of when we arrived and then of all the rooms, each unique. We met the owner who offered us a beer and asked what we thought and if anything we could improve, which was nothing. We highly recommend and look for to a chance to visit again.

Casa Camellia in San Miguel Allende is a wonderful boutique hotel experience. Our room had a king size bed that was super comfortable. The host Mr Uriel was exceptional and took care of all details from the moment we booked. Breakfast is delicious and is included. We loved staying at Casa Camellia and we’ll surely be back! It's a charming place to stay and our host Uriel was always attentive and eager to help. We enjoyed having access to an equipped kitchen and made our coffee, and the breakfast had generous portion. Bed is comfy and we had good night sleep. It also has AC, a plus during the hot day. It's about 15 mins walk to historic center and its easy to call uber to go around town.

Everything in this stay was exceptional. The room was great size with a very very comfortable bed and view if you wanted to open the windows (Margarita Room) with all the water being purified to drink even from the sink, and having an air conditioner if needed. The restroom was comfortable too with the shower having an easy system for hot water. The space was great as well as the shared kitchen if you needed it and the outside area available for use too and very beautiful look in the rooms and outside in the patio and shared areas. The restaurant downstairs was where we could get our breakfast which was a full fruit with yogurt and breard then a heavy plate which was eggs, or omelet(prob more options depending on the day). The location was a great spot, we took a 8-10min walk to the city center and the neighborhood around was very safe as well. Parking was easy to find right in front across the street with no issues. Service was great too, we had someone to receive us and even the owner wound up introducing us to our stay, and would greet and chat a bit with us at breakfast. Taxis to city center were also very inexpensive, us paying 40mxn at nighttime. Would definitely stay here again.

El hotel es muy tranquilo y muy bonito. Tiene diferentes habitaciones repartidas en esta casa y tiene detalles muy bonitos en la decoración. Esta a aproximadamente 15 minutos caminando del centro, pero hay que tomar en cuenta que es una pendiente bastante pronunciada para subir y llegar al centro. No lo aconsejo hacer por las noches, sólo de día. No hay una recepción en el hotel, sino que te recibe un chico, Uriel, y es muy atento, pero se tiene que estar en contacto con él para que te reciba. Si tienes cualquier problema, le puedes llamar por teléfono o escribir a su Whats para que te atiendan y te solucionen. El desayuno está bueno y lo hacen en un jardín super agradable. Las cosas que no me gustaron es que no tiene estacionamiento. Se tiene uno que estacionar en la calle, y luego no hay lugar cerca del hotel. Me tocó que me agarrara la lluvia y tuviera que correr en el calle empedrada para no mojarme tanto. Lo otro que no me gustó es que no me tendieran la cama. No sé si tengan servicio de limpieza diaria, pero por lo menos a mí habitación no entraron a limpiar y hacerme la cama. Sin embargo, totalmente regresaría a este hotel, son más las ventajas que las desventajas y está muy orginal y bonito este hotel, además de que es muy tranquilo

The host Uriel was very helpful and the property was everything you would need. The breakfast really set you up for the day and then the use of the kitchen and communal areas made it feel like home.

I love the ambiance and peacefulness of Casa Contenta. The staff is very helpful and kind. I needed a taxi a few times and Bianca called and they were always on time. Breakfast was perfect to start my day. Plenty of hot water and presure which is always nice. Fan and a/c if needed. 15 minute walk up to centro.

For me everything was good. Location is perfect, just 10 min walking from downtown. I have a complain about the parking. In the hotel information says “parking free” but there’s no parking space at all. The car should be parked on the street. Even though the place is safe, the information must be clear about it.

I think that the best thing, even more than the charm of the house and the town, was the personal care and attention we received. A nice place to stay!

The difference between a great and not so great hotel lies on the details. Casa Contenta staff is more worried about their confort than on providing a good stay to the visitors. No sense of costumer satisfaction. I do not recommend this hotel.

ホテルというよりB&Bといった感じ。各お部屋におふろもトイレもあるのですが、トイレにティッシュが流せないのがちょっと。。。 家全体はカラフルだし、お庭は草花いっぱいで美しいです。全体的には古い家で設備も古いですが、掃除はいきとどいてます。 わかってはいましたが、壁がガラスなのは外の光が漏れるのとプライバシー的には微妙です。朝食はお庭を眺めながらでとっても良かった。ただ、パンがなくてシリアル、フルーツ、ヨーグルトなどです。別で卵料理をオーダーできました。パンはあったほうがいいですね。 中心街までは歩いて約15-20分の距離でタクシーなくてもギリギリ移動できる距離でした。

We really enjoyed our stay. The Casa is beautiful, the hosts were so friendly & accomodating, the room was comfortable & the location was great. I would highly recommend this place!
