Lovely welcome from a staff member named Adam, room was very quiet and comfortable. Room needed a bit of an upgrade but was fine for the price. The only issue is the water pressure, it was practically a trickle coming out of the shower and luke warm on the hottest setting.
I stayed for work purposes, so was an excellent location for me. The hotel is located near a busy road, yet it is so quiet inside! The staff are efficient, helpful and friendly. The room, although basic (what would you expect for the price?) was clean, warm, cosy and very comfortable. The bed was probably the most comfortable I’ve slept in for a very long time, as were the pillows. I can’t really fault the place, complete value for money, I can’t believe they charge so little! I cannot comment on breakfast as I didn’t take it. Would definitely recommend.
Son and girlfriend booked in to stay here for to see in the new year, through booking.com. When booking she had to verify her age (17). They went to the embassy, Newcastle, after work tonight and were refused access as you need to be 18. This was not stipulated when booking. She went there for an overnight stay to see in the new year but was turned away for this reason. I even rang the hotel, as a family member to ask if they could stay but still it was a NO. I've messaged booking.com as no answer on the telephone. She sat in the hotel car park and cried for a good hour while her boyfriend rang around. Unfortunately, there was nothing available anywhere, so they had to head home. Such a shame.
The hotel room was a good size and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We received the Free breakfast (to go) offer which was good. Enough to choose from with a few coffee shop style tables to eat at. It was a few minutes drive to the Metro and approx 10 mins to Newcastle. Overall it was a good experience and we would book this hotel again.
Decent hotel and ideal location not in the city centre but not to far away from the night life. Prices are great value. Exceptionally clean by louise and the other staff on shift were all chatty and welcoming.
Excellent! The hotel is a little tired looking but our four night stay was just perfect . All the staff are so friendly and welcoming , nothing is to much trouble for them . They helped us out numerous times when we asked for advice / help to navigate this lovely area. We felt they were genuinely interested in where we had been and if we’d had a good day . The cold breakfast at the price was amazing so much choice and well presented , in fact we questioned how you could do it at that cost . When we came to check out the lady asked if we were ready to get home to our own beds ? But we actually felt like we wanted to stay longer , so we are definitly coming back next year to finish off what we didn’t get to see . Well done all of the team for making our stay so memorable ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just an overnight stay before dropping iff our son at Newcastle Uni digs. Ample free parking. A very friendly and helpful receptionist. From the decor it looked like the hotel was a premier inn in a former life. Just needs a bit of tlc and updating, but was more than adequate for us, very comfortable beds resulting in a very giod sleep.
+ reasonably priced + free parking + decent pub next door serving food + very friendly staff - quite dated, verging on shabby - breakfast is very basic - noisy location particularly if your room is at the back as it backs onto a very busy road. - the heater in our room (23) didn’t work.
Very basic hotel, similar to a Premier Inn. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the outside area was dirty with lots of rubbish, which really let it down. Served its purpose for two nights for a wedding locally, but I wouldn’t stay here again.
The bathroom had too many hairs in it and the people at reception need some customer service training.Otherwise the stay for 1 night was not bad.
Staff great
tried to charge £10 for 30 minute early check in which is ridiculous other than that it wasn’t too bad probably won’t stay again though
Could hear steps in room above. Loud sounds along corridor but it did seettle down
Lets say I wouldn't stay there again.
This is an excellent, value for money budget hotel. Most facilities are at par with what you would expect from a budget hotel but most outstanding feature is its very helpful staff. Adam is a star. He went above and beyond with anything we needed help with. All other staff we interacted with - Sumit, Helen, Caroline - were all very kind and helpful. Kudos to the management for hiring such awesome people. The next door pub waggon team is also an asset, good food at reasonable prices. Convenient location, felt safe, plenty of parking - couldn’t ask for more.
Greeted with massive pile of mattresses in the car park (not the best welcoming view - apparently awaiting council collection). Couldn't access the building to get to reception (have to be buzzed in). Looks like an old Premier Inn that's been run down and a few new signs up. Room was nice and big but run down. Poor state of furniture.
First off the review is for my experience we had it’s not for the hotel as it’s not a 4 star. Great location just off the A1, close to shops also. We arrived quite late but there was plenty of car parking spaces which was good, next door was pub which served food which is ideal. Entry via a key card or intercom so it felt safe. Through the door to reception where there was a few tables and chairs for breakfast. Adam was on reception we were greeted with a smile he asked how our day had been and if we had drove far we told him where we had drive from and how long it had taken and he joked and how long it takes him to do the same journey lol he was polite , helpful and really attentive. Nicest receptionist I’ve ever met. We went up to our room you could tell it used to be a premier inn it still had the carpets, headboards and curtains but the hotel had only been open a week so I presume the more money they make the more they can invest in the hotel which is needed a little especially the carpets and the bathroom but the room was clean ( with a note from Helen who had cleaned the room) with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. You could tell all the bed linens were new and the pillows were amazing we had the best sleep ever. Came down stairs to check out in the morning (10am a little early I thought lol) staff were lovely asked how we were and what we had planned. Had a good chat and felt welcome which sometimes you don’t really get that in big places so it felt nice. We missed breakfast but by the looks of things they had quite a selection. So all in all it was a good stay but the staff made it better especially Adam. We would stay here again.
Great to see a hotel refurbished, ideal location. Great staff.
Wife booked a room at this hotel several weeks ago as a halfway stop over for a break away to Scotland. Less than 48 hours before we were due to travel, the hotel left a message on her answerphone, cancelling our booking, blaming the government because of Afghanistan asylum seekers and child refugees (their words), and to call back if we wanted to discuss further. We did call back, left a message, but no one returned our call. Also contacted the central switchboard who assured us someone would call back, which they never did. Extremely poor set up in our view, so be forewarned if trying to book a room at this place.
Disgusting
It was okay I think you need more electricity sockets in the room
Just on an over night stay, arrived and got my room key at 15.15 had a freshen up and then back to the hotel by 10Pm. Good size double room all clean, tidy and just what i needed. tea and coffee facilities with the offer of more when i checked in. Comfy bed had a back room so no real noise. All in all a hassle free stay. Hotel is just off A1 on the edge of an industrial estate, pub next door and local food outlets near by. No food at hotel for me not a problem. if i was hungry or needed breakfast then perhaps not the place to stay.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a friendly face . The staff here are exceptional so helpful friendly and just great people . The rooms have everything you need all in working order .We stopped here for the Great North Run and the reception helped us with transportation to the event printing a document with all the buses and metro info not many would go above and beyond like that .
We stayed here for 3 nights for rugby League Magic Weekend. The hotel was spotless and anything we needed was met with a smile and a friendly face. The rooms were clean and the showers are amazing. The restaurant on site was excellent and plenty to choose from and was very reasonable, the breakfast was lovely. The staff are a credit to this hotel and worked very hard. Would definitely visit again.
It is the first time that I have ever stayed at a hotel that does not provide pillow cases. I slept on the actual pillows! It was supposed to be a luxury room: yes, a luxury room that provided only one coffee and one tea sachet each! I am given more at Travelodge!
We found our room very satisfactory. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help and were very friendly. They even provided an ironing board with no extra charge. Great place to stay.
Very basic but that’s what I expected for the price. Clean. Nice size room. Perfect to break up a long journey. Lady on reception was amazing. An absolute credit to the place. So helpful and friendly. Nice pub next door for dinner. No toiletries or anything but didn’t really expect anything for the price.
I had an absolutely amazing stay at this hotel! Vicky was amazing from start to finishing helping me sort everything out. She is a credit to the hotel as are the other staff members. Really looking forward to our next visit
Great value stay with hotel just off A1 with handy Greene King pub next door for evening meal. Bed very comfortable and with free parking all around ideal stop over on way home and close to shops and entertainment as well
Jemma would be my reason to return for the helpful and willing attitude she showed, wanting me to have a perfect experience and wanting me to return again. On arrival I asked for a shaded room, and she went and checked the room and turned on a fan to cool it down. Jemma seemed vo want to be as helpful as possible Internet was very slow in the evening, and then the following morning it stopped working. Room was nice and cool on a very hot day. Large car park. Breakfast is just a "grab aand Go" at present..
Well what can I say, the hotel is not the most central but the staff are amazing! We stayed for 4 nights and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive if they tried. Anything we asked for help with during our visit be it advice on places to go or supplying top ups for coffee and extra pillows was done with speed and a smile! I have to say Mandy, Vicky, George (I think) and the other 2 ladies on duty over our stay were amazing and deserve recognition for their top notch customer service! I will definitely stay there again if we venture up that way . Thankyou guys for a great break away x
I used this hotel as a base to explore the area. It's a former Premier Inn under new ownership. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They were busy when I arrived at a stag/hen night had checked out. It's also clearly used by workmen but this was no problem. Its in a good handy location for the A1 and is close to places to eat. The staff really helped with the Internet and anything else I needed. Being very warm the rooms having no air con were hot but the fan helped. A bit noisy on my first night but that wasn't anything the hotel could sort. Good clean rooms and comfortable bed. Breakfast was grab and go which I mainly used as snack in the day and had breakfast elsewhere but the juice and water were very handy.
It was adequate. We were a little disappointed that tge twin room we requested was just a normal room with a double bed and the other bed was a converted couch that was slightly sloping. It was hot in the room too, with no way to cool it down. The staff were all super nice though!
Great stay, the staff were so helpful and accommodating. No restaurant actually at the hotel but there is a great pub attached.
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The staff and receptionist were very help. The rooms are spacious, clean and all the amenities are working perfectly. The rooms will benefit from bedside sockets. Will definitely recommend
Very nice hotel. Comfortable and not too far frm newcastle city centre
We stayed for one night and loved it. The staff were really lovely, it was clean and had everything we needed. The room was quite big! Bed was comfortable and location is good. Just a 10 minute taxi ride into town. We would definitely stay again!
Really welcoming and friendly staff. Room had everything I needed, and was clean and bed was very comfortable. There was no food available (I stayed midweek but I understand there is a pub next door open for food at weekends). However there were a couple of great supermarkets nearby so it was easy to get some cold food to eat. Parking was easy, plentiful and free.
Went for a few days break with the family and had a great stay with great staff extremely helpful first class all round no complaints easy access to all areas like town centre and metro centre and the restaurant/pub is simply amazing also with fantastic food and service
Marvellous staff, cool as, all of them. Good clean place to stay. Any day xxx
Fairly decent functional hotel, staff friendly and helpful, good free parking, easy to get into Newcastle town centre.
Clean room, comfortable bed, staff very friendly and helpful, amazingly quiet considering it's next to a roundabout, decor a bit dated. We stayed for one night en route to Scotland and would certainly stay again.
Booked this as it had free parking on site, for an overnight stay whilst dropping off daughter to University. Rooms were very clean just as you might expect and the staff were very freindly, liked the look of the adjacent pub but as we spent the evening moving her in then out in Newcastle, and again over first thing in the morning did not get to sample it. Will book again when we are next up.
Two night stay to visit waterfront and Northumberland coast. 1st night awakened twice by van alarm parked outside window. Van then left at 4.00am. We're offered a room away from car park but as van was not returning stayed put. 2nd night found it difficult to sleep because of weight of duvet. However, staff friendly and helpful. Room good value and half price box breakfast made it worthwhile and saving a trip out for break.
I followed sat nav and arrived at the wrong one.. And I'm glad it was... Went uphill and booked into this one. Felt really at home straight away, love it here.Asked tor extra pillows and the girl. On reception with dark hair couldn't do enough for us, lovely girl, a credit to Premier Inn.Totallyenjoyed my stay here.
I was not staying at this hotel however I did ring through to ammend a booking at the pub next to the hotel and a lady called lily Ann was very helpful and went and sorted this out for me. I know this was outside her remit but it does show that she has great customer service
Stayed here for a few nights. I was overwhelmed by the attention from the receptionist (Vicky) nothing was too much hassle for her (and i think i was a demanding guest) always greeted with a warm smile and welcome. She really is an asset to the hotel! Rooms were spotlessly clean and cleaned to a high standard. Would definitely recommended this hotel and am looking forward to my next stay with these guys.
Had a lovely stay here, whilst we were helping my Grandfather move out if his home to come and live with us. ALL the team very friendly, from the reception team to the housekeeping girls. The Head Housekeeper was very friendly and genuinely showed an interest in why we were staying. Rooms immaculate, even though they are older premier inn style rooms. Couldn’t find a spec of dirt, and I really checked! Location is great for the A1 and Team Valley. Highly recommend, and thanks for a great stay.
Good location, good price, just a shame it’s for these reasons, party goers would choose this location. We’ve always had positive experiences with premier inns so far, this must’ve just been a bad time to plan a stay.
This small PI has always been the one I rate highest for it's customer service. A warm welcome and the most helpful team of staff. Decent rooms, car parking good and it's close to the A1. The adjacent Greene King pub is, however, a great disappointment and sadly it means I won't be returning to this very good PI.
