Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. Everything was perfect — the hotel, the beautiful surroundings, the room, the facilities, the cleanliness, the food, and especially the service. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional and attentive, always making us feel welcome and well taken care of. The entire resort is beautifully designed, very clean and maintained to an exceptionally high standard. We stayed with our baby and the hotel was absolutely perfect for a relaxing family vacation. Everything was comfortable, convenient and well thought out. The breakfast was excellent, we had an amazingexprience at 2 a la carte restaurants, the pool area was beautiful, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and luxurious. Without a doubt, one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. We would happily return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing and truly special stay. 10/10 — absolutely perfect
The staff, management, food, location, pool, spa, room, view. All of the holiday was perfect, we will come again and honestly cannot recall a more prefect holiday in the sun.
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a very high standard and excellent service. We were kindly upgraded to a luxurious suite with a private pool, which made our stay even more special. The private pool was not heated, but it was still wonderful. The hotel also has two outdoor pools. One is not heated, while the other is wonderfully warm — we absolutely loved the warm pool! The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety and very high quality. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!
There was nothing we didn’t like. We loved everything about our stay and had a wonderful experience.

We saw this hotel being built on previous trips to Crete so were keen to finally stay and explore the Royal Senses. We spent five night there and it was would be best described as a holiday of two halves. We booked a family king room with a sea view (I think every room has a sea view). When we checked in we were given an accessible room very close to reception. While the room itself was nicely furnished and spacious, it had a very small balcony and all four of us were very much in one room. This wasn’t quite what I’d envisaged on booking and we had hoped to spend time on our balcony with a drink watching beautiful sunsets and playing cards. Similarly while I’m happy to share with my children, the partition of the Family King room would have given us more space. I spoke to reception on day 1. They were helpful and responded relatively quickly, looking for alternative options. Although there wasn’t anything they could do immediately due to the hotel being very full, they offered to move us to an Elite Suite the following day. The Elite Suites are beautiful. The room had a gorgeous terrace with a private pool and the most beautiful views of the sea. They were spacious, private and luxurious. The room change allowed us to see the hotel from a very different perspective. Another huge positive was the food. Having eaten at lots of hotel buffet restaurants, and often found them repetitive and lacking in quality, and having lived in Dubai, famous for its extensive brunches, I’ve got high standards. Gea, the main hotel restaurant did not disappoint. Breakfast and dinner were varied with a huge array of options. There was something for everyone and a lot of the food was cooked in front of you - beef wellington, fresh fish, prawns, mussels, fresh cookies, cinnamon buns - the list goes on. I was very impressed! Well done to the catering team! We also took part in the Cretan night, which was an à la carte event and cost extra, however it was worth it.
We experienced an unfortunate sun-bed situation which was a shame. Having sunbathed, read and gone for a swim around 9:15, we went for breakfast leaving our things on our sun-beds. When we returned 30 minutes later all our stuff had been removed by the hotel pool staff and put to one side. They said it was their policy to move towels and belonging off beds if they’d been empty for more than half an hour. In principle I don’t have an issue with this type of policy as long as it is consistent. What frustrated us was that when we arrived at the pool there were loads of towels left on beds in order to save spots and these hadn’t been removed. The member of staff who removed our things also had no system - it was mainly on gut feeling. When we raised this with her, and pointed at towels that were clearly not being used and had been there for a while, she said fine and went and took their stuff off too. If you are going to operate a system, ensure it is fair and consistent. Another bit of feedback relates to the Cretan Night. We loved it as adults but I think they need to rethink their kids menu. I really object to paying 15 euro for spaghetti with butter! A kids menu never needs to be more than 10 euro including pudding. In hindsight I should have taken my daughters to the main restaurant and fed them there, included in our stay, beforehand.
Beautiful location, exceptional personnel.
The Best Hotel Stay! We had the most amazing stay at The Royal Senses Resort & Spa! The hotel is beautifully designed, and our private pool was an absolute pleasure. The aqua park was just what the kids needed, while the infinity pool was nothing short of amazing! The food was very good, but above all, the hotel staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. A fantastic family experience and truly one of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had! ❤️
Beautiful villa suite and the facilities were first rate. The kids aqua park is perfect for young kids. Food was very good.
The towel cards!
Grosse Unterkunft, privater Pool
Etwas weit gelegen von der Stadt. Man sollte ein Auto mieten.
Clean and great team looking after us all the time
The shower is nightmare with water leak under the door - bad design
The hotel is very beautiful decorated, the employees are very nice and friendly, the food is very tasty and with a lot of variety.
The location because moving in and out of the hotel you need a car and it is expensive. The buffet service during breakfast is great and with a lot of variety but I would prefer à la carte menu for dinner (the option exists but the menu is limited in comparison with the buffet restaurant) The location is great if you don’t plan to leave the hotel and it could have been my mistake when choosing the hotel.
We loved how serene the hotel is, even though it was totally full. The design overall is beautiful. Great breakfasts and impeccable cleaning service! We were half board and dinners were great too. There was also always something for our 9 years old - pasta, soup, chicken, and of course the most beautiful desserts. Again, we didn’t experience any slow service in the dining room at all, as some of the reviews mentioned. Water slides were great! Clean, no lines, no screaming and pushing We booked a room with a poll and I would recommend this type of room so you’d enjoy privacy, we didn’t even use the shared pool as we didn’t need it. But it looked very beautiful, though with not many loungers. To sum up - we moved to another hotel after 4 nights as planned, but emailed Hilton to check if we could come back:) (they were fully booked unfortunately)
Nothing really , maybe I’d add turn down service in the evening
Unique view and location
The elevator needs patience. A second one or other alternative would be beneficial
Felt peaceful. Rooms are beautiful. Breakfast was the best of all the hotels we stayed at in Greece. Staff were super helpful & friendly. Spa was incredible.
Adults only pool didn’t have “call” buttons for service like the main pool. No drinks service at the adults only pool. Tennis court & equipment needs a big upgrade.
We recently returned from great stay at Royal Senses. Such an aesthetically pleasing hotel with a funicular to help navigate the hill! Rooms were spacious, with one big bed and comfy sofa bed for our son. Good size bathroom with two sinks and lovely balcony with sea views. Water slides at aqua park were great.. just enough to keep us entertained without feeling overwhelming and also far enough away from the main pools should want a change of scene. Adults only pool area fab too. We went into the kids club with our son and I have to say the set up was fantastic.. it was hard to get him to leave!! lots of different things to play with and a free lunch too (need to pre book this) which always included ice cream! We liked the fact we could go into the club with our son as he wouldn’t particularly want to be left. Buffet breakfast was great, such a range of food and drinks. The buffet dinner was great too, always different things to enjoy and try. The restaurant is a very nice place to sit in so eating there for breakfast and dinner wasn’t a chore but we did go out one evening to the local village which I would recommend.. €8 each way in a taxi and such a quaint local village with lots of choice of restaurant. Overall a fantastic hotel.
I rarely take the time to review many places but really wanted to here. This resort is beautiful and gets so many things right - not everything, but their biggest asset is their staff. Every person we came in to contact with was friendly, helpful and couldn't do more for you. The concierge were excellent, the restaurant staff are exceptionally organised and accommodating. The cleaners work like ninjas - the resort is spotless but you rarely see them - things just seem to happen. The communication between departments is very good. My daughter was very poorly in the night on our second day - within minutes we had plastic bags and medicine delivered to our door and the cleaning team were in first thing in the morning to change beddings and disinfect. Nothing was too much trouble. The concierge checked in with us too to see how she was and insisted on sending fruit and dried food to our room to help. Genuine touches like this are what makes them exceptional. The food buffet was excellent and varied, plenty to choose from and cooked with fresh ingredients. Plenty of what was on offer was being made fresh in front of you and replenished quickly. You could press the fun button on your sunbed (if you managed to get one) for food and drinks delivered straight to you during the day. This felt very luxurious. The kids club was very good and the staff in there again were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us and very comfortable. The view of the ocean was lovely. Some things to consider when booking: The resort is quite isolated. There isn't really anywhere to go of an evening without taxis. We hired a car for several days (done directly through the lovely George at the hotel) and that was brilliant to get out and about, but if you like to have a wander during the day or in the evening, the hotel isn't really near enough to anything to do that. It is also extremely hilly - they have a small tram that moves up through the floors on one side of the building which is great but can get busy and you can feel like you are waiting a while. They also have a couple of golf buggies for moving luggage and people if needed but these are limited. The adults only pool, gym facilities and spa are all excellent - we used all these areas during our stay and were impressed. The biggest negative for this resort is the lack of sunbeds around the pools, as well as the lack of shade in the pools - some covered parts would have been invaluable during the hottest parts of the day. We saw many arguments between people and the lifeguards regarding sunbeds (not their fault or course) but managers were often brought in to diffuse situations. Some days I saw people lying on towels on the stone floor which is not really acceptable. Several days we had to wait at the pool bar for beds to open up, sometimes for hours. I know it seems menial, but when you have paid as much as people have to stay at a 5* Hilton Hotel, you would expect there to be enough beds to accommodate. There is space for more and it seems a lot of complaints would be reduced if more were available. The slide pool in particular has only 12 beds with a further 8 in the splash pool below. This pool is where many families are as it's geared towards children but there is nowhere to sit. Unless you managed to snag a bed, it also means there is little shade which during the peak hours, is not good. The only shaded pool is the baby pool. Just something to bare in mind. The evening entertainment was also a little hit or miss. My daughter loved the magician and we loved the live music - particularly the saxophonist at breakfast. The Cretan night was only available in the A La Carte restaurant at an additional cost which felt a little unfair. We did have a lovely stay and like I said, they get so much right here, but there is definitely some things that can be improved. Thank you to your incredible staff for taking such good care of us - they are exceptional.
Stayed at the Royal Senses for four nights and had a room with a private pool. I picked this hotel specifically to spend a few days by the pool quietly, and I feel like this goal was accomplished to the fullest extent. However, the hotel is located in a remote area so a rental car comes in handy, unless you don't intend to leave premises for the entire stay. Parking was free of charge. The room was very spacious and clean, though some noise could be heard at night from what I believe were the A/C ducts, even with the A/C completely off. Staff were, without exception, very friendly and highly professional. The hotel's restaurant options were solid, with some a la carte and some buffet style, though felt a bit overpriced for the quality. Breakfast buffet was at times chaotic given the number of people that turn up with kids but the staff seemed to manage. The facilities were modern, clean and simply peaceful to walk around. There is a train that takes guests up to the higher floors, though the waiting time was sometimes a bit long so walking up felt more efficient and wasn't that hard even in midday sun. The sunsets from the private pool were magnificent. I would strongly recommend this hotel if you plan to spend a slow vacation, though for exploring Crete a different choice might be a better option.
Very nice hotel, lovely staff specifically in the bar areas and restaurants. Food was great, good variety and one of the best buffet options I’ve had. Beach area was lovely, Friday night with DJ highly recommend. Shuttles regularly take you down and pick up takes 2 minutes. You can walk there in 10 minutes. Greek night on Thursday again was fantastic and highly recommend, Cretamos fine dining was a great experience. Something to highlight, it was obviously peak season but there isn’t enough sun-beds around pool for everyone who is staying at hotel. It was a bit of a battle/first come first serve to actually get a bed. This shouldn’t be the case, some people were on bar stools with a towel. This is something to look at imo. All in all we really enjoyed the stay.
Just returned from a brilliant week stay at the Royal Senses and have nothing but praise for this fantastically welcoming and beautiful hotel and spa. Our family group ( 2 adults, 1 x 14yr, 1 x 10yr) were all wonderfully catered for from the exceptional food, elegant rooms, stunning pools (including high quality loungers!) and luxury spa treatments. We arrived around midnight and received a warm welcome from reception with a delicious and thoughtful selection of drinks and snacks ready for us in our beautiful room. Our stay continued in much the same way with super helpful and friendly staff, excellent food and a truly relaxing experience. My daughter (14yrs) and I had wonderful treatments in the spa and being able to share this was really special ( under 18’s can have same treatments when in a shared room with a parent). Our anniversary fell whilst we were staying at the hotel and we were treated to a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and chocolate mousse cake in our room, a lovely touch and much appreciated. The water slides are not the main event at this hotel ( which was exactly what we’d hoped) but were a great addition to our 10yr olds day. It’s definitely a family friendly hotel but doesn’t lose any of the luxury in being so - for us, we felt Royal Senses hit the balance just right. We were upgraded to a Royal Senses villa with its own infinity pool for the last 2 days, a real treat and a fabulous end to a wonderful holiday. Well done and many thanks to all the team and management at Royal Senses
Tudo. O quarto era excelente e as refeições do buffet fantásticas. Tanto no pequeno almoço quanto jantar.
Design of the hotel is beautiful and its position gets the most amazing sunsets. Breakfast is great. (We didn’t eat dinner here so can’t comment) Gym is well equipped and great views. They also run yoga and fitness classes everyday which is hard to find. The spa is gorgeous and is a must treat when staying at this hotel. Our massages were amazing. All staff go above and beyond and create and genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Tasteful entertainment at night with nice areas to relax. A lot of people complain about the location but I actuallly really like the location as you can get to rethymno old town in 20mins and Panormos in 5mins which are both lovely evenings out with fantastic tavernas.
Beware this hotel is very family friendly and in my opinion not suitable for couples without some adjustments. We paid a significant amount for a room with shared pool which we couldn’t use as children staying in the other rooms were jumping into the small pool and being taught how to swim taking over the whole pool. This is not the purpose of a shared pool and the hotel shouldnt really let families with young children stay in these rooms. It is difficult to get a bed by the mai pool as families reserve beds before breakfast with towels they have saved from the day before. The staff make some effort to stop this but for £450 a night I expect to get a bed by the pool. They do have an adults only pool which is gorgeous however the beds there don’t have umbrellas which was tricky as we had a particularly hot week. The beach area is lovely however it is a 15 minute walk to get there along a road with no footpath making it very unsafe as part of the walk is along a slip road off the main highway. They do run a shuttle every 30 mins however from 3pm there forms a queue and only 8 people fit in the van at a time so you only need 2 families before you and you are waiting 1 hour in the blistering heat. Note the beach area did have a strong smell of the toilets - I assume they need to sort the drains.
The food was very good and tasteful. The water activities for the kids was also great. The views from the rooms was amazing. Overall staff and service was excellent.
The kids club staff need to be more active with the children and in general looking after the children. Many times the children are left to just play while some of them are sitting on their phones. Also the waiters on many occasions kept asking me to pay the bill while I’m in the middle of finishing my meal. I would appreciate it if the waiters could at least wait until the end of when i have finished my dinner. Also water should be free of charge.
✨ Resort Review: The Royal Senses Resort & Spa, Crete ✨ If you're looking for a luxury family getaway in Crete, this resort is definitely worth considering. 🤍 From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well taken care of. The resort is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and the staff made us feel right at home. 🏖️ What we loved: • Stunning sea views • Spacious, modern rooms • Family-friendly atmosphere • Excellent service • Beautiful pools and plenty of space to relax 🍽️ Food & Drinks The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start your day. We stayed on a half-board basis, which gave us the flexibility to enjoy breakfast at the resort and explore local restaurants for lunch. Dinner was varied, fresh, and there was something for everyone—including kids. 👨👩👧👦 Perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with a touch of luxury. ⭐ Our rating: 9.5/10 Would we come back? Absolutely! 📍 The Royal Senses Resort & Spa, Crete
Hotel as a hotel is nice, which is to be expected, but the beach for me was something that really relaxed me. Thanks to the whole team 🥂
Such a wonderful hotel. We had a lovely family holiday here with our two teenage boys. The hotel is modern and luxurious. The facilities are amazing and the breakfast and dinner buffets are exceptional. The views from the hotel are stunning. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. All those who we met were friendly, caring and hardworking… I thank you all for making our stay so special… the man that came and took our bags from the bus, the staff at reception who greeted us on our arrival with cool hand towels, the person who took our bags and us to our room in a golf cart, the housekeeping staff that cleaned our room everyday, the huge team of staff in the restaurant who welcomed us and remembered our drink preferences at breakfast and dinner everyday and to Visalis at the gym for being such an amazing and encouraging gym instructor. I hope we are able to come again soon!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful and everything went perfectly. The staff was incredible, especially Rafaela, who helped me organise a surprise for our wedding anniversary on the very same day. Her kindness and dedication made the occasion even more special and unforgettable. The cleanliness was excellent, and the hotel is new and offers outstanding facilities and comfort. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The food selection was impressive, with a huge variety of options, all very well prepared and delicious. We truly enjoyed our stay and felt very well looked after. We will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional experience.
We booked this place on a whim, just a few weeks before arriving. We have two young (4/6) kids, and wanted somewhere relatively quiet, relaxing, peaceful, but still fun for the kids - and this place delivered. Firstly, the aesthetics. Everything is wonderfully modern and clean, and the surrounding area and views are incredible. Honestly eating every day at the restaurants watching the sunset over the sea didn't get old - absolutely beautiful. The room was great, rolling doors to separate the kids sleeping area (two good sized sofa beds), two big TVs, and a very nice large bed. The bathroom area was a bit odd as the sinks were "in the room" rather than in a separate bathroom area - and it was a small shame there was no bath, but overall I loved the room so won't take away from it. The place itself, wonderfully quiet, slow, relaxing - possibly the most relaxed I've been. The main pools were by the stunning views, the water was incredibly warm, the little baby pool was great for the kids, and there were plenty of floats/toys about. Every lounger had a button to buzz for service, as well as being able to order to your table right from the app you can get set up with. Service was fast too! There was also a splash-park area that had buckets, slides, all that kinda stuff, and the kids loved spending a couple hours there every day. The kids club was AWESOME - big thanks to all the staff there. The kids absolutely loved it, we put them in for a couple of hours after breakfast and there was a lot of variety and they came back experts on Greek mythology :) The beach was a very quick shuttle away that came every 30 minutes, very nice still and cool water, nice sandy area for the kids to play. I loved the beach although I will say Crete is wonderful for beaches and there are definitely others worth checking out if you like getting smashed by waves! We took advantage of the on-site car rental vendors and photographers too, got a family photo shoot and rented a car for a couple of days to explore Crete - again can't fault those services at all! There were a few entertainment events we went to - DJ at the beach in the evening, a magician, and a traditional Cretan night, nice ways to spend the evenings, the kids are still talking about the magician! And the food - for a hotel buffet it was wonderful, a strong variety, felt like high quality food and ingredients, and some really good meat and fish on offer every day. For the first time in my life I was actively loading 50% of my plate with salad. And the desserts were brilliant. We went to the a la carte restaurant which was also great but the kids loved the buffet so we stayed there predominantly. Our son had a birthday whilst we were there, and the staff made him feel so special all day and presented us a wonderful chocolate cake and a song at dinner too - a lovely touch that ended such an awesome day for us. Finally - the spa facilities. I had to try and work off some of those desserts - the gym was a decent enough size and there were plenty of fitness classes on, but I was happy to just hit the weights and ride the spin bikes on the terrace overlooking the sea! But wow - the spa itself - absolutely incredible. I've been to quite a few spas in my time but this definitely ranks up there as one of my favourite. I actually wish I went sooner in my trip as I'd have gone more times! Anyway as you can tell, I had a wonderfully pleasant time here, and it was just a wonderful slice of paradise to kick off the summer holidays - and one I'll never forget.
From the moment we arrived until the day we left, our stay at The Royal Senses Resort & Spa has been nothing short of extraordinary. We have been fortunate to travel to many beautiful places around the world, but this resort has truly earned a place among our all-time favorites. Everything exceeded our expectations. The breathtaking sea views, the beautiful and luxurious rooms, the exceptional service, the stunning surroundings, and the warm hospitality made us feel welcomed every single day. The food deserves a special mention—without exaggeration, the restaurants here are among the two best we have ever experienced. Every meal was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and an experience in itself. What made this vacation truly unforgettable, however, was the incredible team. Every interaction was filled with genuine kindness, professionalism, and smiles. It’s clear that everyone here takes pride in creating memorable experiences for their guests. A heartfelt thank you to some amazing people who made our family’s holiday so special: • Evelina (Main Restaurant) – Thank you for greeting us every day with your warm smile and positive energy. Your kindness never went unnoticed and always made us feel at home. • Elisavet (Reception) – Thank you for always being there whenever we needed anything. Your helpfulness, professionalism, and welcoming attitude made every request effortless. • Sia (Pool Bar) – Your wonderful service and cheerful personality made every visit to the pool bar a pleasure. You always served us with a smile, and it made a real difference. • Domna (Lobby Bar) – Thank you for the fantastic drinks and the outstanding service you provided every evening. Ending our days at the lobby bar became one of our favorite traditions because of you. • Amalia (Pool Bar) – Thank you for your excellent service, friendliness, and for always making us feel so well looked after. • Anastasia (Concierge) – Your customer service was truly exceptional. Thank you for going above and beyond, especially for the wonderful birthday surprise you arranged in our room. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made my birthday even more memorable. To everyone at The Royal Senses Resort & Spa, thank you for creating memories that our family—and especially our children—will cherish forever. Vacations come and go, but the way you made us feel will stay with us for a very long time. We arrived as guests and left feeling like family. We cannot wait to return, and we will recommend this beautiful resort to everyone we know. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. See you again soon!
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms and facilities were spotless, and the pools were beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a great variety of delicious options for everyone. One of the highlights was the breathtaking sunset view, which made every evening special. Everything was perfectly organized, and the atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable holiday.
An absolutely unforgettable stay! The breathtaking view, exceptional food with plenty of variety, spotless rooms, and outstanding staff made everything perfect from start to finish. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. This is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I honestly can’t see myself staying anywhere else when I come back. Highly recommended!
We stayed at the Royal Sences for our Honeymoon. Each member of staff went over and above to make sure we made so many memories! We shared laughter, stories and made friends with so many that we met. This has been our third time visiting Crete, and this wonderful hotel. We got engaged here in 2024, brought the family in 2025 and took our first steps in married life together in 2026. Thank you for being part of so many memories and no doubt we will be back in 2027. Thank you all so much!
Our stay was nothing short of wonderful, and we left with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. This trip was incredibly special for us. It was our honeymoon, and also only our 2nd visit to Greece after taking a three-year break from travelling. We had been looking forward to this holiday for such a long time, and we're so happy we chose this hotel to celebrate such an important milestone in our lives. We stayed in one of the villas with a private pool, and it was everything we had hoped for. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, peaceful, and offered incredible views. Having our own private pool made the experience even more relaxing, and it quickly became our favourite place to unwind after a day exploring Crete. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. Everywhere was spotless, and we were particularly impressed by the housekeeping team. Our villa was cleaned impeccably every day, with great attention to detail, making it feel like we were checking into a fresh room every afternoon. The food exceeded our expectations. The buffet restaurant offered a fantastic selection of fresh dishes every day, with plenty of variety and delicious local specialties. Every meal felt different, and we genuinely looked forward to breakfast and dinner each day. We would also like to compliment Alexandra, the restaurant hostess, who did an outstanding job throughout our stay. The cocktails at Zino were great as well, and we thought the prices were very fair for a luxury resort. Sitting with a cocktail while watching the sunset became one of our favourite parts of each evening. Cretamos deserves a special mention. It was, without question, one of the highlights of our stay. Every course was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and thoughtfully prepared. If you're visiting The Royal Senses, don't miss it. The biggest reason this holiday was so memorable, however, was the people. In every interaction, the staff was attentive, happy to greet us and make us feel like at home. A special mention for the reception and guest services team. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the team in such a heartwarming way. The team was always willing to help with everything we required like nothing was a trouble for them. A very special thank you goes to Myrto, Guest Services Manager. Always smiling and incredibly kind, she was genuinely interested in making sure our honeymoon was as special as it could be - even before we arrive we felt valued and cared for. She is, without exaggeration, one of the most genuine hospitality professionals we've ever met! Such hospitality is becoming increasingly rare those days, and it truly made all the difference to our stay. Luxury hotels can offer beautiful rooms and impressive facilities, but what makes guests return is the way they are made to feel. The Royal Senses achieved exactly that. Thank you to everyone who made our honeymoon so unforgettable. After three years away from travelling, this was exactly the experience we had hoped for—and even more. We are already looking forward to returning to Greece, and when we do, The Royal Senses will undoubtedly be at the top of our list xx!
Great hotel Friendly and professional staff , kudos to Marinos and Katherina for amazing experience and treatment , team A Myself and the family enjoyed any moment
The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. I had a wonderful stay
From the moment we arrived at Royal Senses Resort in Crete, we received an incredibly warm welcome. Instead of waiting at the reception desk, we were invited to relax in comfortable sofas while enjoying delicious cookies and a refreshing welcome drink. We were also delighted to hear that we had been upgraded to a different room. When we arrived at our accommodation, we were amazed to discover that we had been upgraded to a stunning villa. It featured a spacious living room, dining area, a private terrace with a swimming pool, sun loungers, and an outdoor dining table. The villa also had two bathrooms, and upstairs there was a beautiful bedroom with an exceptionally comfortable bed, a walk-in dressing room, and a private terrace. The restaurant exceeded all our expectations. The food was refined, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Every evening there was a wonderful selection of appetizers and an extensive variety of dishes to choose from. The waiters were attentive and gave us excellent wine recommendations that perfectly complemented our meals. Breakfast was equally impressive, offering a wide and delicious selection of fresh products. We were able to enjoy every meal outdoors, and each evening we were treated to a breathtaking sunset. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding hospitality of the entire team. Every member of staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Royal Senses Resort is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy luxury in a beautiful setting. We highly recommend it and would love to return.
Beautiful!
Because Curio is a soft franchise, brand standards can be inconsistent, and this property is a textbook example of that. Our stay was a mix of fantastic frontline service and food, contrasted heavily by noticeable cleanliness issues and management who don't care. The Highs: - The Food & Frontline Staff: The food was mostly excellent, and the coffee was super tasty. Special shoutouts to Eleni (who makes world-class omelettes), Marinos, and Alexandra. We also have to mention Maria at the cocktail station. She was so amazing with our child that he actually almost cried on her day off because he missed her so much. - The Water Park: Genuinely great and a huge hit with our family. - Kids Club Facilities: Very well-equipped, and the kids' lunch option is a fantastic logistical perk for parents. The Missed Opportunities: - Pool & Beach Cleanliness: Trash remained on the hotel beach for days without being cleared. Glasses and garbage were left on sunbeds for hours or even overnight, ultimately blowing into the sea and the pool (which also had a foam spill on one occasion). We specifically asked pool staff to clear the trash from loungers, but no immediate action was taken. We actually stopped ordering poolside food and cocktails because sitting next to dirty ashtrays and half-empty glasses was unappetizing. The hotel likely lost more in F&B revenue from us than it would cost to implement a consistent daily cleaning routine. - Room Maintenance & A/C: We noticed bugs in our room and tracked them directly to the A/C vents, which did not appear to have been cleaned in a long time. My wife suffers from allergies and had a stuffy nose our entire stay until the last two days when we kept the A/C turned off, and her symptoms disappeared. - Kids Club Staff: While the facility is great, the staff felt very disengaged and unenthusiastic. They did not seem particularly friendlyor welcoming toward the children, which was disappointing. - Half-Board Policy: If you are a half-board guest and choose to eat à la carte, the hotel offers only a 15% discount. Given the premium paid for half-board, this felt quite insulting. At a bare minimum, the cost of the missed buffet dinner should be applied as a room credit toward the à la carte meal. - Management Response: We reported these cleanliness and maintenance problems to the guest relations manager mid-stay, hoping for a resolution. Unfortunately, nothing really changed for the remainder of our trip.
The view
Very disappointing stay. The staff were unfriendly, especially the employees handing out towels at the pool. The service at the steak restaurant was unacceptable—we received our steaks but never got our side dishes, and when we asked, the waiter replied that it didn’t matter because they were free. The hotel is also not family-friendly. Getting around with a stroller was extremely difficult due to the stairs, making it especially challenging for parents with young children. This was the main reason we decided to leave earlier than planned. Overall, poor service and a lack of accessibility made this a very disappointing experience.
Everything was beyond magical, the staff, the ambiance, the service. Would definitely visit again!
Nothing
Everything was amazing, from food to friendly staff, excellent villa, private pool, views. Real 10 out of 10 vacation
Clean, beautiful interior design, large rooms, nice pools, nice beach, incredible food with a wide selection. Special thanks to Katarina, the restaurant manager, Jenny with the amazing red hair, costas, Erina, Thomas the hotel manager and others who all made our stay a 5 star experience! They’re a delightful crew of hard working employees who radiate positivity and passion for what they do! Thank you to all the staff across the property who clean daily, set all the tables, prepare the food and sun lounges, your work doesn’t go unnoticed and it’s highly appreciated! I love that it’s generally pretty quiet despite the many children roaming around. And the ‘Hilton Cat’ was definitely the star of the show wandering around entertaining guests.
The property can be complex to navigate, no direct access to get down from your room unless you wait for the inclinator/funicular. Signage is incredibly poor to guide you around the property if you take the stairs (a simple fix!) in this ‘ rabbit warren’ . The beach has rusty nails on the timber pathways on the sand and we witnessed a child falling onto them. The property doesn’t have direct beach access but they do provide a shuttle (5mins) every half hour. A major issue is the restaurant in the afternoon.. there is no sun protection and you simply ‘cook’ sitting in the hot sun. I think installing electric blinds to cover the outside area and some umbrellas would allow guest to enjoy their dinner without the intense sun. Like all hotels on Crete, you’ll have to throw the loo paper in the bin. Half board doesn’t include water/tap water so you’ll need to buy that, which was a bit disappointing when other similar hotels offer that as standard. They do however provide bottled water in your room and on the beach.
Excellent service, staff are very kind and helpful. Both restaurants within the hotel were very high quality. Rooms are spacious, well designed and comfortable.
Having to leave.
I recently stayed at the Royal Senses Resort & Spa Crete, part of Hilton, and I can honestly say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment you arrive, the service is extraordinary. We were welcomed with drinks and cookies while waiting to check in, which immediately set the tone for the stay. The staff throughout the resort are attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about making your experience memorable. The property itself is stunning. The infinity pool is huge and beautifully designed, but what truly stands out are the views. The sunsets over the sea are absolutely breathtaking and worth the trip on their own. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. The food was also outstanding. I ate at three different restaurants on the property, and every meal was excellent. I travel a lot and stay in many hotels around the world, and I can honestly say I have never eaten such consistently delicious food at a Hilton property. The beach is nice, although not the highlight of the resort. The hotel offers a small shuttle that takes guests there in just a few minutes, and once you figure out the system, it works very well. There are also several beautiful beaches nearby if you’re looking to explore the area. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. I would return without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Crete.
We had an amazing stay with our family of 5 (two 5 year old twin boys + a three month old baby). The hotel was immaculately clean, very well staffed and everyone seemed so happy to be there. It felt so luxurious, we’ve spent the last 4 years visiting the Curio Collection hotel in Rhodes (Lindian Village) but wanted something new. It was fabulous. Despite it being family oriented it was very peaceful and well catered for both couples, friends and families. A huge shout out to Athenis, who every day at breakfast made our stay so special. She was genuinely so happy to see us every morning.
The instructor for all fitness classes is exceptional!! I attended 2 different classes and he gave clear instructions and did every single move along with me. For the Pilates and Calisthenics class, i was the only person and he still had the class. He also personalized it to my needs and was very encouraging. My son took the weight training class and said he felt like he had his own personal trainer! My daughter in law also took the Pilates class and said it was challenging but very good.
My wife and I had a great week at the Royal Senses. Lovely room with balcony and views over the sea. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The 2 outdoor pools are long and fairly narrow but never crowded when we were there. The children’s pool is at one end so not on top of adults at the sides or other end. There’s also an adults only pool near the spa although we never used it. The classes in the gym were excellent with a very knowledgeable instructor. I wish I’d gone to more. We were on B&B so went out to the nearby village several times as we had a hire car. However the evening buffet was good when we tried it. It’s about 30 minutes drive to Rethymno although we found the old town and harbour overly touristy. We didn’t do as many trip as we had planned as enjoyed the hotel and facilities too much.
Very friendly and attentive personnel. We had a great time and appreciated the perfect service. Especially from Katherina and her staff. All of them were both very kind and professional, always making sure we had the best service.
Stunning hotel which was beautifully appointed. Our double room had a balcony with sea view and was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable and the aircon was the quietest I have ever experienced. There are two lovely pools with a sun-bed deck, one heated and one standard temperature plus a toddler pool with shady pergola. An aqua park is tucked away in the corner of the hotel - no age limit on the adult slides and plenty of gentle activities for the younger guests. Our stay was half board and we enjoyed the buffet at breakfast and dinner. There was plenty of variety and the menus were different each day. The food was of high quality and wine was reasonably priced. A real treat for me was to be able to do Pilates every day. The onsite fitness instructor delivered some amazing and challenging classes on the gym deck overlooking the ocean. Aqua Zumba was an option too, plus weightlifting and meditation - but there was a wide range of fitness classes catering for all abilities and preferences.
Reception staff where amazing when you arrive, make you feel very welcome. our room got upgraded which was extremely appreciated. we had half board and the breakfast and dinner was amazing with new dishes each time, the staff at the main restaurant were also lovely. cleaning staff are also great and do a amazing job. best hotel i’ve stayed at really recommended
This was truly one of the best family holidays I have ever experienced. The hotel was absolutely amazing, well-maintained, and offered stunningly beautiful views. While the various cuisines were impeccable, I felt the dessert selection had some room for improvement. The kids had a wonderful time and absolutely loved playing in the pools. Although our room check-in was delayed, a staff member named Costa was incredibly helpful in getting us settled and even provided snacks for our night flight. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend it to others. Riz

The view from every angle was amazing!!! the staff were great and the food was impeccable!!
We were asked to pay an additional €45 to use the spa facilities, which I’ve never experienced before. As far as we were informed, the spa facilities were included. However, when we went to use the steam room on day three, we were told we would need to pay as we hadn’t booked a treatment.
An amazing stay. The hotel has the most spectacular views over the Mediterranean and the daily sunset is breathtaking. Would we stay here again!! YES, without a doubt. There are only 2 down side to this hotel. 1. The location, if you don’t have a car it will be a 20min taxi ride into the main town Rethymno. Our fav beach and small town trips were at least an hour away (south coast) 2. The private beach, although you do have a shuttle bus from the hotel down to the sister hotel. The private beach has NO view out into the Mediterranean as it’s shielded by the man made concrete sea barrier. We spent a couple of hours. Check-in: Smooth, informative, complementary drink and biscuit and you are taken by golf buggy to your room. Room: Great room, has everything you need with a few little extras. Amenities are well catered for in case you forget anything. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are of good quality. Housekeeping are really nice and go the extra mile, with a little towel art on your bed. Mineral water/coffee etc replenished everyday. Complementary bottle of wine. The view from our balcony, was incredible. I’d say every room has its own balcony with sea view and sunset. Restaurants: Breakfast, incredible, something for everyone, freshly cooked, fresh food etc. Buffet dinner, again a wide choice of local foods all freshly cooked. The sunset at dinner is jaw dropping. The team that run this restaurant are so friendly and tentative to your every request. Gym: 24hr access. Small but has everything you need for a workout, resistance machines for full body along with cardio machines. All with great views, water and towels. Great variety of daily classes. Spa: We had a couple of treatments, we really enjoyed our experience. A very relaxing experience. ‘Pinelopi’ was so friendly in particular, professional and ensured we used the spa to its full potential, giving us advice on the order that we should use the facilities etc. She made our experience that extra little special and we looked forward to seeing her each day. Pool areas: We used the adults only pool outside the gym/spa area and this was perfect for us. Quiet, great beds etc. Yoga: Shout out to Vasilis the gym manager and fitness class instructor. We did daily 9.15am yoga each day on the shaded gym terrace with sea views. Accommodated for all levels (we were beginner) and he was more than happy to run the class even when we were the only people there. Check-out You get a call the evening before to arrange for you to be collected and driven down by golf buggy. Smooth check-out with a little local gift as a thank you from the Hotel.
Complexe très beau
My wife and I have just returned home from The Royal Senses and wow, this place is in a league of its own. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely special. The welcome was warm, sincere, and set the tone for an unforgettable stay. Every member of staff seemed to take pride in creating magical experiences for guests, and their attention to detail never went unnoticed, they even offered to set up a meeting with the chef to discuss my wife’s dietary requirements. Our Grand Villa was simply breathtaking. The space, design, comfort, and views were amazing. Every morning felt like waking up in a dream, and every evening felt like we had our own private part of paradise. What we will remember most, however, are the sunsets. Watching the sky transform over the Cretan coastline became a nightly ritual for us. Those moments, glass in hand and surrounded by complete tranquillity, are memories we will never forget. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. It’s rare to find a hotel that combines luxury with such warmth and hospitality. The Royal Senses didn’t just give us a break, it gave us memories we’ll talk about for years to come. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special. We didn’t want to leave and are already dreaming of our return. Simply perfect. 5 stars isn’t enough.
Honest review - Royal Senses Villa with Sea View and Private infinity pool. We stayed here over half term for ten nights as a family of four. Our party had eight people in total with other family members residing in a Family suite with a sea view. Our board was bed and breakfast. This is a four star hotel. Not a five star hotel. You cannot upgrade to half board for Lunch only Dinner. Our Villa was well proportioned and clean. The view stunning. The pool was €180 a day to be heated, it was very cold. There was an odor of drain in the accommodation at the end of everyday. Our children slept on the sofa. This was not even a sofa bed with a mattress. This was a little disappointing considering the price. Only a handful of plug sockets worked in the villa and this made use of electrical items difficult. On our second to last day there was a flood in the external corridor that leaked into our room and soaked all of our shoes. There are safety catchs on the doors to prevent small people having access to the pool without supervision. The breakfast area got extremely busy. Eleni Gavla provided exceptional service throughout our stay remembering our made to order beverage requests on a daily basis. Breakfast options were vast and well prepared. There was no option for a jug of water on the table. The pool areas are clean. The lifeguard’s vigilant. The aqua park was fabulous and the children loved it. We ate formal sit down lunch in the restaurant and by the pool. This service was terrible. On the occasions we ate in the restaurant the staff got our order vastly wrong both times. It is expensive. The staff around the pool are aggressive in requesting payment for food. I was asked to pay on three occasions before the food even arrived. We had three meals where we had other items added to our bill. If I had not requested a summary of the order before paying would have paid for things we did not have. The staff found it odd I asked for a breakdown before paying. The portions by the pool are smaller than the restaurant. The beach is lovely, however, sadly the sand was littered with rubbish at the shoreline. There are regular shuttles throughout the day. The service at the beach was reflective of a five star experience. The prices at the beach are smaller more expensive than by the pool €12 for fries for example. We misplaced our towel cards one day leaving them at the pool. The pool staff said this was a reception issue. Reception tried to charge me €20 Per card (€80) to replace (plastic credit card es que). I have never stayed anywhere “five”star where this is the case. The reception staff replaced the towel after I said I was not prepared to pay this. Another guest I spoke had just paid to have her cards replaced. Vasillis in the gym works really hard. He runs classes daily. We really enjoyed using the fitness centre. Vasillis ensures all the clients are safe and engages with gym users. The kids club staff were great and our girls attended for a few hours on two days when it was over 25 degrees. This hotel is in a lovely location. Panormo village is €8 taxi cab fare away. There are lots of lovely restaurants. It is very family friendly. The hotel has a five star price for a four star experience.
We had a wonderful week there. Some memories stuck with us: 1. They have a beautiful heated pool. Wonderful for kids. 2. Breakfast and dinner buffets are really good. 3. The view when you’re in the pool is so amazing. But a warning. Cable car can get busy at times.

Beautiful resort! The view from our room was amazing, and having a private pool made our stay feel even more special and luxurious. I found the food to be fresh and enjoyed the variety available throughout our stay. Despite there being families and larger groups at the resort, it still felt very private and maintained an exclusive, luxury atmosphere. I also felt that the spa treatments and facilities were reasonably priced and offered good value. A special thank you to the wonderful housekeeping team for their hard work, particularly Asia, who took such great care of Room 1207 during our stay. I'd also like to mention the young lady who introduced us to the "Almost Colada" — you made the best version I tried all week! The entire team at the resort was incredibly hospitable and always willing to go out of their way to assist. Their friendliness and dedication truly enhanced our experience. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return.
The beverages were overpriced, and over the course of our five-day stay we spent a significant amount on both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. A particular frustration was the lack of apple juice for three consecutive days. As we were travelling with children, they were forced to drink orange juice instead as other options for kids remain limited.. After several days of this, we brought our own apple juice on the final night. Given the amount we had already spent on drinks throughout the week, it seemed unnecessary for staff to enforce restrictions on bringing in a small carton and can of juice for the kids. There is only so much orange juice the children are willing to drink.
We returned after first staying at this resort a year ago, and once again had an excellent experience. The family room was spacious and perfectly set up for a family of four, with plenty of facilities for younger children — including a heated pool, a fun water park, and a shuttle to the beach at the neighbouring resort (handy given the busy road). The food was consistently excellent, both at breakfast and the evening buffets. But the main reason for our return was the outstanding Topi Kids Club, led once again by Stella and her brilliant team. Our children specifically asked to come back because of them — and we’re glad we did. It made for a fantastic short holiday.
Prospective guests should carefully consider both the positives and negatives before booking this hotel. At first glance, the resort presents itself as a luxurious destination and an ideal place for a relaxing holiday. While there are certainly aspects of the property that are impressive, my experience raised several serious concerns regarding guest care, management practices, and value for money. The most concerning incident occurred when a photographer associated with the hotel referred to my 7-year-old son as a "sexy boy." I found this comment entirely inappropriate and deeply unsettling. During our stay, my son suffered a head injury in our room. When I contacted reception to enquire whether the hotel had a first aid team or could provide a cold compress, I was informed that a tray delivery charge would apply if ice was brought to our room. Given the circumstances, I found this response disappointing and lacking in basic customer care. The following day, a member of the management team contacted us to ask whether transport to the hospital was required and attempted to address the situation with a complimentary bottle of Coca-Cola and some traditional Greek sweets. While the gesture was appreciated, it did not adequately address my concerns regarding the initial response. I would like to acknowledge the excellent work of the housekeeping team. Throughout our stay, they were professional, friendly, and maintained our room to a consistently high standard. The food was generally fresh and offered a reasonable variety, although the overall quality was average rather than exceptional. One member of the bar staff in the foyer provided particularly outstanding service and made what was easily the best cocktail I had during my stay. She was professional, friendly, and a credit to the hotel. The room itself was very good, and the private pool was undoubtedly the highlight of the holiday. This feature significantly enhanced our stay and is one of the hotel's strongest selling points. Unfortunately, beverage pricing throughout the resort was excessively high. In addition, the hotel's policies surrounding drinks in the main dining area felt unnecessarily restrictive. For the final four days of our stay, apple juice was unavailable, leaving orange juice as the only soft drink option for children. After several days of this, we brought our own drinks to dinner and were reprimanded for doing so, despite having spent in excess of £100 on soft drinks during the previous four days. This approach felt unreasonable and customer-unfriendly. I was also disappointed by the way concerns were handled by management. Rather than feeling that issues were being properly investigated and addressed, I was left with the impression that efforts were focused on minimising or deflecting complaints. Furthermore, after submitting what I believed to be a fair and balanced review through Booking.com, I discovered that it had been replaced with a rating of "Superb." This experience further undermined my confidence in the hotel's approach to guest feedback. In summary, the hotel benefits from attractive facilities, comfortable accommodation, excellent housekeeping staff, and impressive private pool options. However, concerns regarding guest welfare, management responses, pricing policies, and overall customer service mean that I would not choose to stay here again. Potential guests should weigh these factors carefully when making their booking decision.
In check gik langsomt, så fandt selv vores værelse for at komme videre .......
The hotel is incredibly stylish and beautifully designed. The service and hospitality were absolutely perfect and at the highest level. I loved the sports facilities, especially the tennis court and the gym with an outdoor terrace for fresh-air workouts. The designated adults-only zone without children was a huge plus for total relaxation. The beach is very close, and there are many other great beaches nearby to explore. The food was spectacular — very tasty with plenty of excellent healthy options.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike, my stay was flawless.
I loved everything about the resort
Rien a redire. Hate d' y retourner.

We spent 3 nights at the royal senses, we had an amazing room and were able to completely relax. The staff were insanely attentive and very kind. Will be back and would highly recommend
Nothing :)
Zeer mooie kamer, met privé zwembad. Aanrader, zeer rustgevend op deze manier.
We recently stayed at the royal senses and unfortunately had a rather mixed experience. The hotel itself is new, modern, and the common areas are well maintained, which creates a very good first impression. However, several aspects of our stay were disappointing. Upon arrival, the hotel offered to “upgrade” us to a family room. While this initially sounded like a nice gesture, the room actually had a less attractive view overlooking a worn-out lawn, a very noisy air conditioning system, and noticeable cooking smells coming into the room. We therefore asked to be moved back to the room category we had originally booked, with a balcony. After a long journey, it was disappointing that we had to return to the reception ourselves to sort everything out and collect new key cards. The second room was thankfully brighter, quieter, and much more pleasant overall. However, there were still several technical issues: the safe was not working, and the fire alarm sensor above the bed flashed throughout the night, which made sleeping quite uncomfortable. As for the food, while the buffets were generous in quantity, the overall quality and originality of the dishes were lacking, which was disappointing for a hotel of this category. The “Cretan evening” was particularly unpleasant. The live music was played at such an excessively loud volume that it became impossible to have a conversation, and the sound was genuinely painful on the ears. Although the hotel had plenty of staff members, most of them appeared very young and inexperienced compared to the level of service one would expect from a 5-star property. The reception team was probably the weakest point of the experience. We also attended two fitness classes. I do not know whether the instructor had any formal qualifications, but the yoga class was honestly one of the worst I have ever attended. Overall, we left rather disappointed by the experience. The property presents itself as a 5-star hotel, a category that normally guarantees not only quality facilities, but also exceptional service and attention to detail — something that, unfortunately, was missing here.
We booked this indulgence escape with Jet2 hoping to receive great service but the only positives was the room and the comfy sun-beds. My wife was ill the first 3 days and because all the rooms are along way from the pool I asked if we could get a room with sunbeds in, I waited 2 hours in reception on the first day to be then told they would want £500 to move rooms, no other option was given. We also asked for the last day to keep the room until 5pm and we waited 2 days for them to say they wanted £65. The service was very poor in the buffet restaurant queuing up to 20 mins to be sat and waiting 30mins for a coffee which came cold, the evening food was very similar every night which got competitive with the à la cart starting at £65 per person. If you wanted ice in the room it was £6. There is no entertainment at all through the day and a DJ in the reception at night so early night every night as the hotel is very isolated. The steam and sauna was £45 per person for 45 mins which was scandalous, no water with the evening meal and you had to pay £5 for a bottle of water. We had to argue to get an additional towel as my son burnt his shoulders. If you want poor service, be isolated and have to spend money on most items which should be free this would be perfect for you but I expected a lot better, I am a bit perplexed regarding the other reviews I have read on this hotel.
Beautiful hotel with stunning views and a great location. The territory is stylish, rooms are spacious, and there was always something to eat, especially fresh vegetables and salads. However, for a 5-star hotel, the service was disappointing in many aspects. The biggest issue was the organization of breakfast and dinner. Every day we had to wait in line to get a table, which was especially inconvenient with children. It was also unclear how guests were prioritized — couples without children were often seated first while families had to wait longer. During bad weather this became even more uncomfortable, and the staff did not really try to improve the situation. Only after a complaint did they send a bottle of wine to the room, but this did not solve the actual problem. We also expected much better room maintenance. The entrance door to our Deluxe Sea View room was damaged and looked very worn out, which created a poor first impression. Housekeeping was inconsistent: towels were not always replaced properly, bed linen was changed only after we complained, and cleaning noticeably improved only after speaking to reception. The balcony light was also not working. There were also some safety concerns around the hotel. The floors were extremely slippery, and we saw both adults and children slipping and falling. Some stairs visually blended into the flooring, with almost no warning signs or markings. Overall, the hotel has great potential because of its beautiful views and location, but the service and attention to detail currently do not match the expectations of a Hilton 5-star property.
We had an incredible stay at the Royal Senses. The highlights: 1) The wonderful hospitality from everyone at the hotel from top to bottom, especially reception and the lifeguards. We were especially delighted by the bottle of wine and treats (the latter of which were occasionally replenished) and the parting gift. 2) The children's activities. My kids only spent a bit of time at the Kids' Club but had a blast, and the main (heated) pool and Aqua Park were wonderful. We only wish we could have spent more time at all of them. 3) (should be #1) The breakfast buffet, especially the specialties at the Cretan Corner. 4) The unbelievable views from our room and the breakfast/dinner buffet. Sunset in particular. The only small issues: 1. The door of our room slammed loudly unless you closed it as carefully as possible. Not a big deal, just a bit annoying, especially in the morning. 2. Occasional longer waits at breakfast for coffee. Perhaps this system could be changed somehow so coffee orders are taken immediately after seating? 3. The layout of the grounds/elevators/slooow funicular is a bit puzzling. No real way to fix this, but perhaps more/clearer signage could be added. Overall, this was possibly our favorite resort experience and we would love to return. Many thanks to everyone for an unforgettable experience!
Personal sehr freudlich.
I stayed at this beautiful resort for six days with my wife and two children, and we had a wonderful experience overall. What we loved: * The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We requested extra towels, umbrellas, and a late checkout—everything was arranged without any issues. Special thanks to the front desk team: Sofia, Elisavet, Anna Maria, and Aris. * The main restaurant was excellent, offering plenty of variety for everyone. The food was fresh and of high quality. * The welcome was very warm, with refreshing cold towels upon arrival. In the room, we were also pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine and prosecco. * Our room was comfortable and always cleaned to a spotless standard. * The main pool was pleasantly warm and perfect for the kids. Areas for improvement: * Unfortunately, jumping into the pool was not allowed. I understand restricting jumping for safety or excessive splashing, but not being able to jump in just to start swimming felt a bit unnecessary. * The private pool was not heated, and heating it cost €180. Because of this, we didn’t end up using it.
The chefs and folks preparing food did a marvelous job. The bed was comfortable.
Really from the start it was a bit of a disappointing stay. It was pouring rain (understanding they dont control weather), and the elevators and tram were both not working consistently (we did get a tram to and from dinner). When asking for a bottle opener to open some wine we brought, we were told it would be €60 to have it delivered to the room. My husband braved the pouring rain to go fetch it from the restaurant. The shower had clumps of hair on the wall. And upon checkout, I wasn’t asked about our stay. Lots of people were complaining at checkout-maybe it was just too much to ask.
