Clean, good location, decent restaurant and Starbucks on site
High cost for valet parking, $50/ day
La posizione e l’area della piscina e bar sul tetto
Parcheggio caro
The room was beautiful and clean. The food and the service at the restaurant was great
Everything was great
We booked this hotel for the Fourth of July long weekend and left disappointed. As Titanium Elite members, my husband and I appreciated the upgrade to an Executive Suite, which was spacious and well maintained, but that’s where the positives ended. The service was consistently poor. The rooftop bar was overpriced, we noticed shattered glass near the construction side of the building, and the last-minute changes to the destination fee benefits only added to the frustration. To top it off, we were overcharged for breakfast despite using our complimentary Titanium breakfast vouchers, and the front desk refused to fix the bill. This stay completely took the shine off a holiday we’d been looking forward to. Based on our experience, I can’t recommend this Westin.
I had a FANTASTIC stay at the Westin Tempe! Beautiful views, a spectacular suite and a vivacious rooftop pool and bar have me excited to come back! I first want to acknowledge the parking since I know the valet cost is a an issue. I did self parking at the Brickyard Parking Garage for $16 for 24 hours which was a 3 minute walk across a side street and down a short flight of stairs. I found it super convenient and would recommend it to anyone looking to skip valet. The lobby was nice, very clean and open with high ceilings and a comfortable sitting area. Austin got me checked in quickly and hooked up with their welcome package that included two free margaritas at the rooftop bar Skysill, two free cups of coffee or tea at their coffee shop and two free smoothies from Terra their restaurant on the 1st floor. I stayed in one of their Executive Suites With Mountain View and when I say the room took my breath away, I actually gasped!! It was more than I could hope for with beautiful views overlooking Tempe and Phoenix in both the living room and bedroom, a big comfy bed, a nice sized table to get work done at and a beautiful bathroom complete with a spacious shower and luxurious soaking tub! The room also came with bathrobes, complementary water bottles in the mini fridge, wine glasses and a corkscrew. I really loved being able to relax knowing everything was thought out! The rooftop bar and pool was beautiful, again with breathtaking views. The welcome margarita was good and strong but the Hibiscus Paloma was a show stopper! I also really enjoyed the rooftop patio the next morning when I took my laptop up to enjoy the sunrise over the city while getting my work day started. My morning was a breeze, enjoying beautiful views, my complimentary tea and smoothie but the standout of my stay was Aneesa at concierge. I had a last minute schedule change for a meeting that left me stressed for time to checkout and make my meeting but Aneesa saved the day when, without hesitation, she moved my checkout time back so I could complete my Teams call in the privacy of my room and not feel rushed to leave. I only ended up needing 30 extra minutes but I can't thank her enough for giving me that extra hour! It's people like her who keep me coming back somewhere and I'm happy to say I've already recommended this hotel to a few friends and work colleagues. A couple places I feel the hotel may have room for improvement on is stocking additional amenities for the bath like epsom salts or bubble bath and the windows of my room could have been cleaner but those little things really didn't bother me much at all. Honestly, I just walked across the street to the 24hr CVS and bought some bubble bath after my drinks and enjoyed a nice relaxing soak, it was perfect! I've definitely found my new go to hotel in Tempe! Thank you Westin Tempe and Team for taking care of me and again, thank you Aneesa, you're a true MVP!
Great area great drinks
No parking had to pay $50 overnight valet fee
The location and amenities were great.
Only one elevator working during much of ASU graduation weekend. Walking 11 flights almost did my husband and daughter in.
great property. horrible customer service
What should have been a simple short work stay turned into a very unpleasant experience. The property itself is well-kept, but the service fell well short of the Westin standard From check-in, the front desk felt unwelcoming, which I could have overlooked. The bigger issue was a problem with the room that needed a manager’s attention. A number of items were not properly stocked, the room simply did not feel up to Westin standards, and the poor soundproofing only made things worse. There was nonstop noise coming from the adjacent room. The associate helping me was not able to resolve it, which was understandable, but when a manager was needed, a manager named Danielle or Daniella briefly stopped by, said she was in a meeting, and promised to follow up afterward. She never did. That was the most disappointing part. It was not just the unresolved issue, but the complete lack of follow-through and accountability. At a Marriott property, especially as a Titanium member, I expected basic professionalism and some level of care. Instead, the front desk management came across as dismissive, unhelpful, and uninterested in resolving a straightforward guest concern. It is a shame, because the property itself has potential. But poor management and a lack of respect for guests made this a very unpleasant stay, and I would not return. Based on this experience, the management company appears to be failing this property, and in turn letting the Marriott and Westin brands down.
I would strongly recommend choosing another hotel if you’re visiting Tempe—better yet, look at properties in Scottsdale, which offer a far higher level of service. My experience with The Westin Tempe was extremely disappointing. I booked a two-night stay through Booking.com but accidentally selected May instead of April for a business trip. As soon as I realized the mistake, I contacted Booking.com and was advised that the hotel could authorize a refund. I immediately rebooked the correct April dates at the same hotel and completed a two-night stay, which made the situation even more frustrating. While the front desk staff were courteous in person, the Front Desk Manager ultimately refused to approve a refund—despite the May reservation still being weeks away and likely to be resold. As someone who works in public relations and travels extensively, I found this to be a clear example of poor customer service and inflexibility. Based on my experience—and similar feedback I’ve since seen from other guests—this appears to reflect a broader issue with how this property handles customer concerns. There are many hotels in the area that value their guests and demonstrate it through fair and reasonable policies. I would encourage travelers to consider those options instead.
Just had a very frustrating stay at The Westin Tempe. The main issue was the poor service and intolerable level of noise. As several other reviewers had pointed out, and as I sadly got to experience myself, this hotel is NOISY. There was a DJ playing nonstop loud music on the rooftop well past midnight over the weekend, and the level of disturbance was so loud and intolerable that it could be heard on different floors. My friends and I stayed on different floors, and we all heard the same noise, if you can even call that music. It was so disruptive and made it impossible to sleep after a long day. There was no courtesy notice, let alone any warning, about this kind of late-night party in advance. Had we known about it, we would have stayed elsewhere for sure. What made our experience even worse was the lack of care from management, or rather the complete absence of it. There were no senior or experienced managers available, and Danielle, the front desk manager, did not seem to care about the well-being of her guests at all. Not only was Danielle unhelpful, but instead of trying to find a solution and listening to the guests’ concerns, responding and speaking with empathy, she seemed to prefer coming across as strong and combative when all we wanted was a restful night’s sleep. I cannot understand how she was placed in a management position when she seemed more interested in arguing with guests than resolving any issue. It was so disappointing to see this kind of approach and hostile attitude from someone who serves as the face of the Westin hotel in Tempe. This really shows how much the hotel’s management cares about its guests and how this property is being run by this team. Overall, it was an awful stay. I cannot recommend this property.
The Westin is excellent. This is the third time we stayed here and absolutely love it. The rooms are beautifully appointed, well laid out, roomy, and very clean. The staff is attentive and friendly. Everything is within walking distance and if you get one of the higher levels, the view is amazing, day and night. I'll add one photo of something I particularly appreciated. Instead of fix mounted against a wall, the sturdy desk/table sits on rollers, so you turn it towards the window and enjoy the view or towards the TV, while your working.
Good location to everything. Parking garage across the street.
Pricey. Wanted more money to check in early and more money to check out late. The elevators kept breaking, literally all 3 were not working. Got so bad, had an employee take us to a service elevator to use after we stood waiting forever for the elevator. No sign saying they weren’t working. The coffee shop, which sells Starbucks always was sold out of everything and they basic coffee which we were given 2 cards for a free coffee or tea there was so bad it made me sick with diarrhea! They just need to do WAY better with a lot of things for the price the charge!
Location and facilities.
Loud construction and rooftop parties until 1200 am.
The Westin Tempe offers a great, relaxing and convenient business or personal travel option in the heart of Tempe's University district. Convenient walking to restaurants and businesses in the area. Rideshare has to access carefully through construction area but isn't inconvenient or delayed. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee available on the first floor.
Came to ASU for my daughter’s music audition. I figured the Westin was a standard business/family hotel type option. But from the minute we arrived it felt like we were crashing a frat party. Drunk kids stumbling around in the hall at 8 pm. We went down to the (mediocre) restaurant to get some food and it was impossible to get an elevator upstairs afterwards because there were just tons of students using all the elevators to get to the rooftop club. I don’t know if it was a special event or what, but honestly it feels like Vegas and it is kind of overwhelming. I get that it’s a college town and everything but we just weren’t expecting this kind of scene for a high stakes weekend. Maybe it’s helpful for my kid to realize that even if the music program here is great, ASU has a certain reputation for a reason…
Nice and clean
Parking
Everything was good
What a wonderful hotel. There are a lot of choices of places to stay in downtown Tempe, but I think the Westin is the best of the best. From the time we pulled up and the valet was genuine and helpful, through check in and our entire stay- the service here is first class. Our two rooms overlooked "A" mountain and were comfortable. The rooftop pool and bar are a real treat- we had a lovely afternoon up there. Even in December the weather in Tempe is fantastic, so it can be enjoyed year round. The onsite bar and restaurant are also great.. and it's nice to have a ton of places within walking distance to enjoy, too. We loved it here and would definitely stay again the next time we're in Tempe. Definitely a 5 star experience.
The Westin is located right on the ASU campus, near restaurants, hikes and bars. Very welcoming, when you check in they give you several coupons for the restaurant, bar and coffee shop in the hotel. I used the majority of them. The room was very comfortable, clean and I was the 8th floor so it was nice and quiet. They don't offer free parking which meant moving my car from street parking(free parking at night). One of the reasons I stayed here was for the pool, I was very disappointed when one of the nights I planned to use it, it was booked for a private event - a pool party and that meant everyone was using the elevators. The pool area is very nice - towels are at pool. Rooftop bar was nice good drinks, pool restrooms were clean.
Great location! We went to Gammage auditorium for an event. Nice walk. Our room had city views which were amazing!
Minor complaint - floors in room weren't clean. Rest of room was great!
Clean the reception perfect attitude was a convertible. Everything was really fancy and perfect.
Selected this hotel as it is close to the airport. Nice hotel, beautiful room, friendly staff. Convenient on-site valet parking with unlimited in/out, especially if you have an early flight. You can also park across the street. Very clean and comfortable. Really like their lightly scented tea soaps and lotion.
Great location and facility.
No coffee cups, empty body wash in the shower
I stayed at the The Westin Tempe for a few nights while visiting my son, and the location is excellent for all things ASU. There are plenty of great food options within walking distance, as well as additional restaurants just a short drive away. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I did experience an issue with the TV and contacted the front desk later in the evening. They promptly sent someone to troubleshoot, and the issue was resolved quickly, which I truly appreciated. The hotel offers complimentary drinks at the bar, including non-alcoholic options and house margaritas. While I appreciated the gesture, I was disappointed with the margarita. The bartender shared that they had recently switched from making them from scratch to using a pre-made mix, which was noticeable, as the drink primarily tasted like sour mix. As someone who has bartended for years, that stood out to me and was my only real complaint. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.
What is the most stressful part about traveling for work? Being overcharged for the stay and having to deal with the problem for weeks. I was incorrectly charged a few hundred dollars on my card. When the billing error was reported to the front office, Jayden acknowledged it and told me the charge would be corrected by a manager. Well, weeks later, the unauthorized charge is still on my credit card. Reported the problem to a manager, but received no response or resolution for weeks. Danielle at the front desk is unqualified to work at a full-service hotel, where communication with guests is a key function. The lack of professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, and basic customer service at this hotel was shocking. This property feels more like a poorly managed motel than a Westin hotel.
Location was perfect!! Right next to bars and restaurants . They provided two Complimentary cocktails/mocktails and two complimentary coffees from the coffee shop as well. Roof top pool with bar!!
Location, cleanliness, design, staff. Especially enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool facility, great for an afternoon in the heart of the city, close to the airport and a reasonable distance downtown.
What a great experience here! Service was impeccable, especially Jonas and Hannah at the front desk. They could not be any more helpful, they go out of their way to help all guests!
To start, we had to wait for hours after our check-in time, as our room wasn’t ready, and I don’t think it could have gotten worse. At night, we were shocked to discover that this Westin hosts late, rave-style parties on its rooftop bar. This is not one of those events for hotel guests, but it is open to the public for anyone 21 years of age or older. As a result, the party attracted a crowd that was not what you would typically expect to come to a Westin hotel. Due to the unbearable noise, we went to check what was going on, and we couldn’t help but notice that many party attendees wore highly inappropriate and revealing clothing, which made our daughter feel extremely uncomfortable. The following morning, we saw many guests appear intoxicated and dressed inappropriately, standing next to us, waiting for the valet to retrieve our vehicles. When we raised our concerns to the front desk agents, we were told that there was nothing they could do about these parties. At no point, when we checked in or during our stay, did any staff provide us with an explanation about these wild parties. Not even a courtesy notice or heads up. As an ASU graduate with a young family, I love Tempe and its surrounding areas. However, this Westin is badly mismanaged, and the staff showed no willingness to assist when our concerns were raised. Not the Westin standard we expected.
room was very nice and bed was comfortable
valet only parking
I would not stay at The Westin Tempe again, nor would I recommend it. After my closest friends and family members had spent quite a significant amount at this hotel on multiple rooms for a much anticipated bachelorette party, we noticed there were discrepancies in our folios, so we reached out to the front desk manager, Danielle. The manager showed a lack of courtesy and was rude and unprofessional when addressing what would have been a simple issue. She refused to remove the error charges on the folios and wanted to start an argument with us. What a way to ruin the fun and celebrations after a party. We understand there can be unexpected issues or billing errors that need to be fixed; however, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for initiating an argument using an unprofessional tone and disrespectful comments towards guests. After reaching out to Marriott Bonvoy’s customer service and providing copies of the supporting documentation, the error charges were ultimately reversed. The supervisor at Bonvoy’s customer service apologized to us for the unsatisfactory service provided by the hotel and for having to deal with this after our bachelorette party.
The location of this Westin is excellent, as it is literally right next to ASU and the Tempe business district. However, the service and recognition of Bonvoy elite status were extremely poor. While the exterior of the property is well-maintained, I was surprised by the lack of training and the discourteous front desk agents and manager. As an elite member, I expected better service. Just before check-in, I checked the availability of rooms on the Bonvoy appt. To my surprise, an agent informed me that the app did not reflect the latest room availability and that all the upgraded rooms had already been assigned to other guests. So no upgrade for me. During the stay, there was a disturbance from one of the guests next door, who appeared to be having a party for a weekend game. When I requested to switch rooms, I was told that the property was fully booked. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the manager, Daniela or Danielle, she showed little interest in providing assistance and displayed a lack of empathy. Daniela's or Danielle's response was quite condescending. Instead of offering a solution, she said there was nothing she could do, and I was free to depart early, but there would be no refund. Overall, the service experience fell well short of the level I had anticipated for Westin properties. I would not recommend staying at the Westin Tempe unless you enjoy receiving literally no customer service and having a frustrating experience.
Location, amenities
Random people walking around. Weird guy at pool and elevator that was not a guest. Didn’t feel comfortable.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Raving Review for Hannah at The Westin Tempe! Upon arrival, there was a bit of a mix-up with our room type and card on file. It was honestly a confusing situation. However, every team member we encountered was friendly and accommodating, and I especially want to shout out Hannah for going above and beyond! On the day of check-out, she handled everything with such patience, professionalism, and kindness. She made sure all the details were sorted and that we left feeling completely taken care of. Thank you again, Hannah, for turning a stressful start into a smooth and positive experience. The Westin Tempe is lucky to have you!
Normally, I don't write reviews, but our recent stay at this hotel was so frustrating that I had to share our awful experience. The check-in time is 4 pm but my wife and I waited more than two hours for our room. To make matters worse, I had called the hotel in advance after arriving in Phoenix to confirm that we could check in during the afternoon, as we had a dinner to attend. The service at the front desk was just awful, the staff seemed distracted and uninterested in assisting guests. While we waited for our room after 4 pm, no one from the front desk team offered us a bottle of water. When I checked back and asked about alternative check-in options, we were told that the rooftop bar was open or that we could voluntarily accept a downgraded room. We honestly expected better service than this. I have been a loyal Marriott member for 15 years and stayed more than 170 nights last year, so I expected more from a Westin. Unfortunately, the front desk team at this location simply doesn’t take care of its guests. The company that manages this Westin should be ashamed of the poor service at this property. Take your money somewhere else!
I had an absolutely fantastic experience checking in and out of the Westin tempe. Hannah, Liz, and Anisa did an exquisite job making sure that I enjoyed my stay and that me and my girlfriend were well taken care of during our short stay here. Whatever requests I had were promptly handled, and their attention to detail, and courtesy is what made me write this review!
Anthony was over the top in regards to customer service…He was running Cup of Joe coffee shop and delivered “knock your socks off service!!!!!
The beds
They always over charge
Room perfect with heavenly bed.
clean room and nice staff
It’s ok
Yes
It’s tool late to inform me that my guests and I cannot use the rooftop that evening of Oct 3! Just wanted to have my 60th birthday picture poses there. :(
Very convinent location. Staff were most helpful. Very beautiful property with quality service and rooms.
Nice hotel in downtown Tempe. Easy walking access to the bars and shops. The only downside is finding the parking near the hotel. Charging $50 for valet I believed it is outraged amount of money. I was lucky enough to find a spot near the hotel.
My experience at this Westin was disappointing due to unprofessional conduct by the front desk staff, which may be the result of a lack of training and poor management oversight. During the first night of the stay, in the middle of the night at 2:30 am, there was loud screaming and noises on my floor that appeared to be an altercation as a result of domestic violence. The front desk staff didn’t respond to the situation promptly, and the issue persisted for more than half an hour before the security team was dispatched. The incident was not only disruptive for guests who needed to rest, but it also reflected a lack of training and deficient management. When this was shared with Danielle, the manager’s response was unprofessional, and it was clear that she was too busy to be bothered, which made the stay feel transactional. Also keep in mind that this hotel is located near the college campus and was overrun with students who partied and created a lot of noise during their stay. The unexpected incident and frequent noise disturbances reflected poor management oversight and inadequate training. If a front office manager doesn't seem to know the fundamental principles of service, perhaps she should not work in hospitality, and the Westin should hire a manager who genuinely cares about the safety and experience of the guest.
No parking on site. That was our only problem with this property. Besides that it’s gorgeous and the amenities are top tier.
Good but not enough
Y
Everyone was welcoming, the hotel is lovely! The only thing we didn't like was the very slippery shower floor and the tiny mat to stand on. Will stay again!!
Staff was great and a wealth of information!
amazing rooftop and great rooms for the price.
Good location. A little noisy at night but manageable.
👍
Excellent check in
Great location.
Very nice hotel. The aesthetic is visually pleasing. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. It would be nice to know, up front, that on-site parking refers to your valet-only parking structure and the fact that runs $49/night. Otherwise, this was a pleasant stay.
More menu options for in room dining as well as both restaurants. Staff throughout the hotel from housekeeping, bartenders to front desk were all kind and helpful. Very clean hotel!
Beautiful and modern rooms, huge restroom and beautiful view; the Pool on the top of the building it’s amazing
The property was clean and had great amenities.
The coffee shop doesn’t take cash, it wasn’t open to get coffee on one of the days.
Super nice hotel and so close to all the fun things to do on Mill Avenue. No onsite parking but there is a parking garage right across the street for only $16 a day.
Everything
My stay was peaceful. The property and room were very clean and beautiful. The staff were upbeat and amazing.
Nice comfy hotel
love the Hotel but location for parking is horrible.. you either pay $49 a night for Vallet or $20 a night in a parking garage around the corner.. but you pay more if there’s a football game and then it’s limited parking.. so I won’t stay there again only due to the parking..
Very
Tempe in August is too hot so the roof top pool was a must have. Very clean and nice staff.
Excellent location - walking distance to EVERYTHING!

Such a professional property. Love this place
Due to delays with our airline, we missed our connecting flight in Phoenix to Cabo. No flights were available until the next morning, so we were stranded in Phoenix. After discovering we wouldn't be beachside with margaritas that day, we booked a night with The Westin Tempe. We've stayed at Westins all over North America and this location was on brand and delivered a wonderful experience. First, we arrived earlier than check-in time. They had one room available, which was an upgrade from what we booked, and allowed us to check-in early, rather than check our bags at the front desk, which we appreciated greatly. The room was beautiful and we had a fantastic view from the 15th floor. Secondly, one of my favorite things about Westins is their gyms, and this one offered the usual cadre of equipment. Next, the location was perfect. Because we took an Uber from the airport, we didn't have a vehicle to get around, but one wasn't necessary. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, along with an AMC movie theater across the street. Also, with a restaurant onsite, you don't need to leave the hotel to dine. We ate breakfast there, and it was delicious! Lastly, all the staff were attentive, helpful, and professional. Would definitely stay here again!
The sliding glass door to the bathroom didn't lock, but it was frosted to offer a degree of privacy, and was the only aspect of the room that wasn't perfect, IMO. Also, the temperature in the gym was a little on the warm side and slightly muggy, but certainly not insufferable.
Clean staff was friendly and service was fast when requesting items .
A little noise not too much considering it was on college campus .
Beautiful modern hotel
La habitación muy elegante y las camas muy cómodas. Pero lo mejor fue el baño.
