Treescapes - Rainforest Hot Tub 2km from Punakaiki

I stayed here with my one and four-year-old children and it was perfect for us. The forest setting with the sea views, fireplace and spa pool made it for a very special stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and a variety of heating options were available including a heat pump and electric blankets in addition to the fireplace. A wonderful place to stay and we would be happy to return here.

We were happy with everything.

The perfect little spot to catch up and unwind with old friends on a rainy night. We loved the cosy living space and log burning fire. Would love to visit in summer time so we could enjoy the deck and hot tub.

Beautiful sea views, private, clean, great water pressure in shower, outdoor spa was amazing for sore muscles after completing the Paparoa Track.

Loved this place. Beautiful spot in the Nikau trees with great views of the sea. The hot tub was a winner after walking the Paparoa track. So good to have a washing machine & a wood burning fire. We felt so snug in the wild weather.

The stairs up to the house were pretty slippery & one of our crew skidded over. A bit of non skid stuff on the stairs would be a great addition.

Great location. Lovely house with great views and a very clean hot tub. We have everything we needed to cook too. We would come back again.

Didn’t bother us however was very near the road so an odd car came past late evening & early morning. We could hear the Weka, however they probably stayed away due to the road.

A unique experience! We especially loved the retractable doors that invited nature indoors.

Hot tub was lovely.

Everything was great, great location, the hot tub was amazing and we all felt so comfortable. Having the wifi was a bonus as the cell reception is poor. We lit the fire but there is a heat pump if you don’t want to. They have thought of everything and made our stay very comfortable.

We had a fantastic stay here - it was absolutely perfect! The location is incredible, very easy to find and great instructions from Jed. Well equipped with everything you might need (including a portacot) and it was nice and warm from the heat pump when we arrived. The hot tub was a real treat and made for such a special stay, our 2 year old loved looking at the stars from it! I highly recommend this property to anyone, well worth the stay and we would definitely come back 😊

Set amongst beautiful lush vegetation, this lovely treehouse had a cosy fireplace and great outdo deck area.

Nice clean property with decent view of ocean. Has amazing sunsets. Recommend owner add scrubber sponge for dish washing, more hand towels, and dish towels. Also recommend better labels on rubbish, recycle and compost bins because it was a total guess on how to distribute waste. Very good remote property, some highway noise but limited to occasional vehicles. Would definitely stay there again.

It was great. I saw that some people complained about traffic but this wasn’t an issue for us at all.

The freezer had ICE in it!!! Ready to use - so great after a long journey to sit down with friends and a cold cocktail! Windows in sleeping areas all fitted with insect proof screens. Thankyou!

Came prepared with spray and repellants for sandflies and mossies. Needed - but this is the Coast!! Comes with the territory

The house was comfortable, and the view was beautiful. The only downside is there is nowhere to turn around at the house so reversing back down the track is difficult.

Lovely property, clean and tidy just a short drive from Punakaiki.

Some road traffic noise at night but overall good value for money .

The westerly sea view was great for watching the sunset. The balcony and BBQ facilities were great.

It is closer to the main road than I realised - but then most places in Punakaiki are.

No info on how to check in was provided we eventually worked out to go to nearby campsite to get the key!

No easy walking access to the beach, or at least nothing obvious. It’s a small one but hugely frustrating,when traveling one would expect salt and pepper to be available in house. Two wine glasses for a 6 bed house is pretty poor especially as it’s been mentioned many times before. Mattresses very thin

Arrived it didn’t have clear check in instructions. Staff were rude upon check in. When we went to the apartment the windows had been left open without the blind so it was full of sandflies. Spent most of the first night trying to deal with them

Position was great - good kitchen facilities - beds very comfortable.

The check in process was unclear and could be easier with a lockbox. We went to the actual property and the realised we needed to go to the campsite for the key and back to the property.

No curtains- curtains at least on bedrooms would have been good. Can't see in photos but main road underneath house so at times noisy with traffic.

Superb holiday accomodation in stunning setting. Elevated overlooking sea. Two great bedrooms. Enjoyed self catering, hearing crashing seas and lovely night sky.

A lot of noise from cars travelling at 100 kms on the very close main road. We did not know when booking that there would be no supermarket nearby. Had we known we would have brought supplies.

Very cool property with amazing views. We stayed one night with our two kids and enjoyed it.

A wonderful location for a getaway. Truly a piece of paradise. So close to great walking swimming and biking.
