The smell of dampness in the studio apartment we stayed in was strong. Even the amount of plug in air fresheners couldn’t mask it.

The location was perfect for us and the accommodation was great.

Location was good. Easy to find. Directions to food and pubs in hallway for you to see. A selection of food was left (bread, yoghurts, butter, juice and milk) for us to eat which I was thankful for as I slept late and had to be put the door asap. In the room there was a kettle and a variety of tea and coffee. Hairdryer, small shampoo and conditioner. Full length mirror

Parking wasn't great. Small car spaces. My suv just got in the space without room to get in and out if another car parked next to you. Not enough parking on site. Only 6 spaces for a 9 room hotel. Was emailed to say we could use the pub car park a couple of streets down which was good. On our last day (stayed 2 nights) I noticed a smell coming from the bathroom. Smelt like the drains.

Location for my needs

Room is small hard to get round the bed which was small. No bedside table one side no chair to sit on. Not the fault of the hotel this one and I feel sorry for all the residents on the street but the traffic noise overnight is very loud

Perfect for my single-night stay - superb location, and a lovely characterful/ homely feel. Self-catering breakfast options were much appreciated too.

Car park could maybe get a little tight for manoeuvring when full (though that wasn't the case on our visit), but nearby Hillside was fine for additional parking space.

Self Checkin was nice and simple easy access to the property and that it was close to the local pubs/restaurants

Easy to check in, great size room & good parking. Loved the communal kitchen & felt like we were really welcomed. The hotel did their best to accommodate our early check in request too. Very grateful! Thank you!

We liked the self-serve breakfast available in the kitchen. There was milk, cereal, bread, jam, butter, tea, coffee etc. There were 2 stoves and 2 ovens, a fridge, freezer and toaster in the well-equipped kitchen that we could use. We appreciated having a clean, comfortable ground-floor room and being so close to the bus stop and shops. The self-checkin system was unfamiliar but worked for us. Management was very helpful.

Having a washing machine we could use would have been helpful.

Polvere sulle tazze da caffè, sui biscotti in omaggio e su altre zone della casa. Andrebbe spolverato tutto, non solo i comodini. In bagno la ventola non funzionava e c'era una strana puzza che proveniva probabilmente dallo scarico. Bisognerebbe prestare attenzione alla ventola del bagno e alla puzza.

I was surprised to see how much space we had in studio one, and was ecstatic with the tidiness and presentation of the room. The hotel is incredibly easy to find with parking just outside the room.

The only thing I could fault is the cleanliness of the tv remote, i noticed quite a lot of dirt buildup and so I think that should be cleaned. however overall my stay was fantastic!

My room was comfortable and clean. It was on the second floor which could have been hot and stuffy but the hotel supplied a fan in the room which was very much appreciated.

Not the hotel's fault, but the road is very noisy, even at night.

They mattress on the bed was the worst I've ever had. Not enough parking had to park elsewhere. The room was very small. Not good value for money.

The bedroom was nice and when I was cold someone came straight away to fix it.

The breakfast was virtually non existent. The fridge was empty. No orange juice, milk or yoghurt. The fruit was only satsumas and lemon which were wrinkled and had seen better days.

Bed was creeky when moving in bed, felt like the bed was broken when layed onit. Very noisey as on a main road- road traffic all night.

The location was perfect, and the hotel is modern and clean. Nice to have little extras in the kitchen for guests to enjoy.

The room was a bit tight, with frosted glass that you could not see out of. Noise from road and a constant drip outside.

Perfect location from Donington race track where we attended, everything we wished for, my second time to stay there. Roll on next year 😉☺️

Convenient for a day at Donington Track. Room was clean and tidy. I didn’t make use of the kitchen, but I’m sure that’s a great thing to have for some. It looked well stocked in there.

They were having issues with the fire alarm system. Had a message to tell me how to unlock the control pannel and silence the alarm myself. But nothing about checking that it’s a false alarm first. The alarm did go off during my one night at the property. There wasn’t space for me to park at the property - though the pub down the road were happy for me to leave my car there instead.

Upgraded our stay to Studio apartment, Julie and Steve were fantastic hosts! Easy access to the building, short walk to the main high street. Lovely apartment, will be booking again.

Fantastic location. Excellent and timely communication from hosts. Broad range of continental breakfast & tea/coffee in bedroom also. Clean, modern and safe property. Full size hairdryer.

My bed mattress was slightly uncomfortable for me. This is personal preference only. A Friend stayed the same night and complimentary of their mattress.

Did not use as 5.30am check in.

Parking difficult and restricted. Small old car used for long stay at EMA. Normal car would not have fitted as 1 space left plus waste bin in entry, plus cold and raining and leaving belongings in car so no comfortable left on street.

The shower room was acceptable and the room adequately cleaned with towels provided. We liked the big bed but one side was against the wall so getting in and out was very difficult. We left early so did not have breakfast but guests have to make their own in the kitchen provided. It was a reasonable price.

The name Bondgate HOTEL is a misnomer as this place was a collection of hired rooms with codes provided to enter the front door and our individual room. There was no service as you would expect from a hotel. It was suggested in the email we received that we ask to park in the nearby pub which we tried to do as the back car park was full. However, the response from the staff at the pub was very unwelcoming so we abandoned this idea and finally realised we could park at the front of the “hotel”.

The best hotel accomodation in Castle Donnington , comfortable , clean with great facilities.

Great place and location

We loved the comfy bed, the large communal kitchen with plenty of seating, and the great shower. I really enjoyed the breakfast choices, they were right up my street, muesli, banana, apple and a hard boiled egg. You just help yourself which suits us fine. It's a few minutes to walk to the high street, loads of cafes, restaurants and bars.

Nothing apart from road noise, but I live in the middle of nowhere so I'm quite sensitive to it. There is secondary glazing, and I don't think it would be an issue for most people. That wouldn't stop me going back, it really is a fabulous place to stay. Just mentioned it to let other people know to bring earplugs if they are super sensitive

The car park is very small Basic, small amount of furniture but works perfectly for an airport hotel overnight stay. Has everything you need.

I only had a small breakfast, but the selection was just right for me.

Fantastic cosy place which is perfect for short stays. Rooms have everything you need. Providing breakfast items, cereals and a variety of cooking ingredients in the kitchen area is really handy whilst having all main appliances to cook. Communication ahead of my stay was very efficient, clear and welcoming. Even the noticeboard in the downstairs hallway offered a personal touch to help with your stay. The Bondgate Hotel has everything you could need.

The car park is too small and tricky to navigate if you're nor a confident driver or can't reverse into the entrance. However there is on street parking and the owners provide good information.

Slight problem with the door code but sorted wuickly

The hotel is in a convenient location.

On arrival there was a very strong, unpleasant odour throughout the building. We reported this and were offered another room, but moving rooms within the property would not have resolved the issue because the smell affected the whole building. The owner later acknowledged there was a smell coming from a drain in the kitchen. We were then offered a studio apartment in a separate building. However, when we entered, we found the door unlocked and the bedding appeared to have already been used. The door also did not lock properly, so we did not feel the accommodation was secure or suitable for sleeping. We were told a full refund would be issued; however, this was later withdrawn. The situation and the way it was handled caused a great deal of stress and disappointment, and the responses we received to our complaint were rude and sarcastic.
