Root Karaköy Bosphorus Hotel & Spa

Die Unterkunft hat eine super Lage. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und die Putzkräfte aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Personal war auch freundlich hat uns am Abreisetag ein Taxi gerufen welches auch preislich super war. Es gab eine Baustelle direkt an der Straße am Hotel, sonst ist es abends ganz okey für Istanbul Verhältnisse.( wenn die Baustelle nicht wäre)

Leider wird die ganze Straße neu gebaut, wir haben nur am Sonntag schlafen können. Die Bauarbeiten gingen von 2 Uhr nachts bis 6 Uhr morgens.( es ist keine Hauptstraße)Als wir fragten wie lange die Arbeiten gehen würden, war das Personal aufgebracht meinte sie hätten mit den Arbeitern gestern Nacht Diskutiert und das es ja garnicht geht das die nachts arbeiten und das es nicht nochmal vorkommt. In der Nacht danach war es wieder laut. Es war jede Nacht so laut das, das ganze Zimmer vibriert hat. Beim Frühstück schien das Personal sich zu langweilen anstatt die Tische abzuwischen die beim anlehnen schwarze Abdrücke hinterließen. Das frühstück würde ich persönlich nicht buchen.

T1トラム駅、カフェ＆レストラン通りにとても近く、それでもゴミゴミもしておらず、立地が非常に良かったです。そんなにうるさくもありません。 朝ごはんは9階のテラスで海が見える素晴らしい見晴らしでした。 朝食会場のVelliさん、フロントのAliさんはじめスタッフは皆さん機敏でフレンドリーでした。

窓のない部屋もあるようなので、部屋を選ぶ際には確認して下さい。

The staff is 100% service oriented. We arrived late and got our room assigned. The next morning we realized the room wasn't to our like, dark, limited space to sit, so we went to reception with our remark. Without hesitation, the showed us 2 other rooms and we moved in there without problems. The breakfast area is maybe not the most pristine location, but its clean and the staff is wonderful. Pleanty of advice on what to do, where to go and how to go. Just perfect.

Clean hotel in Karaköy with lots to see and lots of nice restaurants nearby. Nicely decorated hotel and great location if you want to explore all around Istanbul. Very nice staff and good breakfast on the roof terrace with great views. A great way to start the day! Comfortable beds and the room was cleaned well every day.

The hotel is a bit worn out. Very dark and narrow stairwells. Poor soundproofing in the windows, unfortunately all the noise from the street could be heard all night. Luckily I am a good sleeper despite the noise from the street at night! We had the comfort room and it was quite small for two persons. For some reason, there was only a few channels on the TV. I don't mean that I came there to watch TV, but in the morning it is nice to watch different channels during the morning routine, which I am used to when traveling.

We had a wonderful stay at Root Hotel Karaköy! The location is absolutely fantastic — right in the heart of Karaköy, surrounded by plenty of cafés, restaurants and shisha spots, with Galata just a short and enjoyable walk away. What really stood out was the hotel staff. They were so friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Karaköy is such a great area to stay in if you want to explore Istanbul, with so much within walking distance while still having a lovely neighbourhood feel. Definitely recommend staying here and would happily come back!

Amazing location. Surrounded by the best caves and restaurants, close to Tram and Ferry. The staff is super lovely and such a cool vibe to the place !

The breakfast is disappointing. Limited and repeat options, toaster doesn’t work. Also our room had no door in the bathroom which was uncomfortable.

It’s clear the hotel invested only in a pretty lobby and completely gave up on the rooms: Dark & Run-Down: The room was heavily worn out, lacked natural light, and directly faced a trash-covered roof. Broken Amenities & Lighting: Several electrical outlets were completely broken. The bathroom had extremely dim lighting and zero mirror lights, making it practically unusable for getting ready. At over €150/night, the quality-to-price ratio is terrible. You can find far better options in Istanbul for this price. Not recommended.

Hotel acogedor, con instalaciones nuevas y una decoración elegante y cuidada. Excelente desayuno en el rooftop, con bonitas vistas. El personal fue muy atento, amable y servicial. Una estancia muy agradable y recomendable.

Algunos cuartos son más pequeños que otros y pueden sentirse un poco ajustados, pero están muy bien aprovechados y cuentan con todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable

It was very nice ! The location is perfect ! The Hôtel is beautiful and with amazing terrasse for the breakfast ! The employees are very kind and they even offer a cake for my mom s birthday ! I really recommend !

Our room was a bit on the small side and breakfast was a bit limited. I would struggle to stay there for more than three days

The location is great, it’s my third time staying here because everything is close by. Staff were really friendly and thanks to Serkat for helping us with the room and arranging airport taxi, he upgraded us to accommodate our baby and made our stay a lot more comfortable. My little one loved the little turtles in the lobby.

The rooms are a bit old. The curtains are worthless and don’t keep out any sunlight. Meaning it gets really bright early morning, which woke me up every morning.

The rooms are too small and dark, the breakfast is poor, and the gym was the biggest disappointment. The gym is located in the basement, within the spa area, making it feel stuffy and humid. The space has a very low ceiling and feels extremely claustrophobic, which was one of the reasons we decided not to use the spa facilities. The cleanliness of both the spa and the gym was below expectations. As for the equipment, the only cardio machine for running was out of order, as was the only multifunctional strength-training machine. Apart from that, the only options left for exercising were a set of dumbbells, worn-out exercise mats, and a few kettlebells. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was its gym and spa facilities, so we were very disappointed with our experience.

The hotel is is located in the heart of Karaköy and is a couple minutes walking distance from restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and tram stations which is excellent. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was phenomenal, beautiful views ,and excellent variety. Check in and check out was seamless. Root Hotel is an excellent option if you're looking for a boutique property in close proximity to the buzz.

Only the location and cleanliness were good.

The rooms are outdated and desperately need renovation. The curtains do not close properly, allowing sunlight to flood the room—a recurring issue in most rooms. When I complained to the reception, they completely dismissed the issue and said they couldn't do anything. I was only upgraded after escalating the issue to Booking.com customer service; however, even the upgraded room had the exact same curtain issue. If you care about sleeping in pitch black without sunlight, this is definitely not the right hotel for you

Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer war auf 26 Grad eingestellt und auch nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen, ist es nicht möglich gewesen diese runterzuregeln. Es wurde lediglich gesagt, die sei zentral gesteuert. In den Hotelfluren und den anderen öffentlichen Räumen, war es jedoch wenigstens kälter als 26 Grad. Die Nächte waren also sehr sehr warm und schwer zu ertragen.

Very small rooms, needs renovation and has a feel of old property

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Most of all, we were impressed by the friendlyness of the staff. Especially Mustafa at the reception was an incredible host. He did everything to make us feel welcome, was always happy to chat and spoiled us with the best tipps for our stay (where to go, what to see, which dishes to try). The breakfast with the view over the city was also amazing and so delicious. A must try in our opinion is the Muhammara, it was truly amazing!

Unfortunately the room was a lot smaller than expected (there was no place we could store our suitcases) and when we first arrived there were still some bits of dirt below the window and the drain in the bathroom unfortunately had a bit of a bad smell. Also, the shampoo and shower gel are nicely placed in sustainable containers but those would often drop from their fixtures (especially after pumping) so that's not an ideal solution. Also, the pool in the spa was broken for one day and the other days it wasn't heated. As the weather was rather cold outside it was not every inviting to swim in the cold water. On the other hand, the steam room was SO hot, that you could only stay in there for a couple of minutes, which we flagged to the spa staff but they said there is no other settings.

A simpatia do staff, fomos muito bem recebidos!!

Quarto um pouco pequeno e colchão não mt bom, mas limpo. Black out não tapava a luz totalmente, entrava luz de fora, de manhã, pelo quarto. Ginásio precisa de ser remodelado, passadeira não funcionava. De qualquer forma, no geral tivemos uma estadia agradável, principalmente pela simpatia do staff.

Nie skorzystalysmy z pobytu. Nie jest hotel dzwiekoszczelny tak jak bylo to zaznaczone! W pokoju obok kiedy przyszli ludzie i zaczeli rozmawiac, bylo wrazenie ze weszli do naszego pokoju, takie sa cienkie sciany. Nie polecam jesli sen dla Ciebie tak samo wazny jak dla nas. Plus do tego pokoj byl zniszczony, zdjecia piekne a realnie jest inaczej. Przykre doswiadczenie

Hotel Root Bosphorus in Karaköy was me al bekend, omdat ik er al twee keer eerder heb gelogeerd met mijn zoons. Ik was nu met twee vriendinnen en ik heb meteen Root geboekt vanwege mijn eerdere goede ervaringen. Het hotel ligt centraal, in een levendige wijk waarin je zowel te voet als met het openbaar vervoer heel goed de bekende maar ook de minder toeristische plaatsen kan bereiken. Het hotel is schoon, heeft een zeer aantrekkelijke lobby en biedt een erg goed ontbijt (ook voor vegetariërs en veganisten) en het personeel is zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Ik wil hier vooral medewerker Mustafa benoemen. Hij blonk uit in klantvriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid en hij heeft ons verblijf in Root zeer aangenaam gemaakt. Bedankt Mustafa!

Alles was prima. Er was maar één ding wat me tegenstond en dat waren twee waterschildpadden in een heel klein bakje. Laat ze aub vrij of zoek een groot verblijf voor ze. Nu waren ze zichtbaar ongelukkig.....

Schönes zentral gelegenes Hotel mit gutem Frühstück mit Aussicht, gut klimatisierten Zimmern und sehr nettem Personal. Sehr gerne wieder. Die Betreuung durch Meriem bei Fragen und Wünschen via Whatsapp ist positiv hervorzuheben.

Es ist ein Minarett direkt gegenüber, dadurch kann es ab und an laut werden.

La localisation est parfaite Le petit déjeuner au dernier étage avec vue sur le Bosphore est exceptionnelle ! Le personnel est très sympa et la chambre était clean tous les jours. L’une des hôtesses parlait français.

Overall this was a fine hotel to stay in and we really enjoyed our stay. My first impression was really great — we got a free room upgrade, the staff took our bags to our room, the interior was quite nice and spotless. The location of the hotel was perfect — really easy to get to all the cool places and landmarks in town on foot (which was great because we didn't have to endure the horrible Istanbul traffic); there was also convenient public transport. The breakfast bar had a beautiful view of the city. The staff were super nice, they really put in the effort to make us feel welcome. Also, they had two pet turtles in the lobby that were super cute to see and interact with.

I think the hotel was made to look good but some bits weren't really of good quality. Our friends had a broken toilet seat, our soap dispenser broke on its own, little things like that that don't make a good impression. I tried the sauna but it smelled a bit funny (although it was empty) and there was a hole in the ceiling. Overall the spa and the gym (although fairly well equipped for a hotel — it had a barbell) didn't inspire much confidence in me so I didn't try to use them much after my first attempt. Noise could be a problem everywhere in Istanbul, we were lucky to see the loudspeakers of the minaret of the neighboring mosque from our window — earplugs are a must if you're a sensitive sleeper. Also, if ordering a taxi from the hotel, plan for a larger buffer because our taxi was 30 minutes late — we had planned well and it was all fine, but we could've easily been late for our flight had we not. The breakfast was OK but it was exactly the same every day and there wasn't too much variety. Overall — a bunch of small things that weren't a dealbreaker for me, but I think are good-to-knows.

The bed was comfortable and the wifi was good.

We were alittle disappointed with our room. A number of things were broken when we arrived including an outlet by the bed... Visually the room also didn't meet our expectations, the window had a large crack in it and the other window faced an area with a bright light. Also not the fault of the hotel but it was sooo loud, we were on the 2nd floor so the street noise was crazy and then the singing from temple at 5am every morning was pretty rough/unpleasant.

Wir haben 4 Nächte im Root Karaköy verbracht und waren wirklich begeistert. Wir haben netterweise ein Upgrade auf ein Zimmer mit Terrasse bekommen – vielen Dank dafür! Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt. Alles war zu Fuß erreichbar – Restaurants, Cafés, Bars und viele Unterhaltungsmöglichkeiten lagen direkt vor der Tür. Unser Zimmer war wunderschön, groß und sehr sauber. Die Terrasse mit Blick auf den Bosporus war einfach traumhaft. Auch das Frühstück war hervorragend: sehr große Auswahl und alles war frisch und lecker. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das gesamte Hotelpersonal. Alle Mitarbeiter waren unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer gut gelaunt. Wir können dieses Hotel von Herzen weiterempfehlen und werden bei unserem nächsten Istanbul-Besuch definitiv wieder dort übernachten.
