Out of the Blue

J'ai aimé l'accueil et l'emplacement avec une situation plutôt bonne dans ponta delgada. J'ai en revanche été un peu déçue dans le rapport qualité prix. Je pense que c'est une très bonne auberge de jeunesse avec un bon rapport qualité prix pour les dortoirs. En revanche j'avais pris une chambre seule: pas dans le bâtiment principal mais dans une "villa" un peu plus loin dans la rue, et donc moins d'accessibilité au jardin qui est le grand plus de cette auberge. La chambre était bruyante (mauvaise isolation) humide ++ et mal ventilée, pour le prix d'un bon hôtel c'était un peu décevant. Enfin, autre grande attente de mon séjour, le petit déjeuner, décrit partout comme excellent: effectivement bon mais très peu copieux: un verre de fromage blanc/granola, une petite tartine salée avec des tomates dessus et 2 mini pancakes (très bon mais on reste un peu sur sa fin). D'une manière générale l'expérience a été bonne, mais rien d'extraordinaire non plus comme j'avais pu le lire en commentaire, notamment parce que la rapport qualité prix de la chambre n'était pas au rendez vous. Si c'était à refaire, je prendrais une chambre d'hôtel classique pour le même prix ou un lit en dortoir pour la vraie expérience auberge de jeunesse.

O serviço do pequeno almoço foi péssimo. Chegamos as 8.05 e levaram 50 minutes para nos servir. A funcionaria sem nos dizer nada . Foi um desastre.

Ambiente muy bueno con un desayuno casero espectacular. Habitación cómoda, amplia, cuidada y limpia. Cerca del alojamiento hay varios parking gratuitos.

Very well located, clean, and the outdoor space is super cute. The people were nice and the breakfast is good.

Our private washroom was nice but no window and the ventilation was only working when the light was on and we had to let to door open to let the humidity goes out. Otherwise the humidity stayed inside. In a room like this I would recommend keeping a small air extraction all the time, and increasing it when it is used.

The location was excellent, staff were extremely helpful and the hostel was clean. I ate both nights I was there. Tapas was brilliant, as well as a good choice of cocktails. Family dinner is an excellent idea, a good way to get travellers together.

The breakfast was really good and everything was clean.

The dormitory I was in was quite literally a closet behind reception, and the bed wasn’t very comfortable.

The breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The shared bathrooms are numerous and clean. The hostel offers a reasonably priced laundry service. We enjoyed the shared dinner, and the food was excellent and filling for a great price. The location is excellent.

The rooms are quite dark and damp. There's no outdoor space to hang out wet clothes.

The free breakfasts, the beautiful backyard oasis, the friendly and helpful staff. It was clean and comfortable and a short walk to anywhere in the city.

We were in the castle room. The top floor was hot unless we opened the windows, risking a termite infestation.

- room at the 2nd floor with steep staircases and no lift: definitively not for people with physical handicap - strange lightning in the room, impossible to read in bed - bed base was larger than mattress with sharp angles, a nightmare for ankles … - impossible to open the balcony windows because of the threat of termites, hard in summer despite the effective air condition system - no TV - limited choice at breakfast although bread and butter were excellent - very young staff but 50% of them did not learn the elementary rules of politeness - hard to park in the area - too expensive for services provided

Piscina y entorno

Un endroit très agréable. Les dortoirs sont tout à fait corrects. L’emplacement est idéal, proche de la mer. Le jardin est incroyable; on y passerait des heures… Le petit déjeuner est excellent, comme la cuisine du restaurant d’ailleurs. Le personnel est sympathique et les tours proposés sont très bien. Bref, une belle adresse. Je recommande!

Unser Aufenthalt war mehr als super! Das Hostel ist von der Ausstattung und dem Komfort her mehr wie ein gutes Hotel. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker, die Küche sauber, der Garten (+ kleinem Pool) sehr gemütlich und die Lage top. Die Bekanntschaften die man macht und die Leute, die dort arbeiten, machen es zu einem Ort, an dem man sich sofort wohl fühlt. Es werden zudem jeden Tag gemeinsame Touren und Abendessen angeboten. Danke für die schöne Zeit, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! PS: man hat auch die Möglichkeit, seine Wäsche zu waschen.

Perfecta ubicación. La habitación muy espaciosa. Desayuno hecho al momento, cada día diferente, buenísimo. Las instalaciones muy bien, en el momento que fuimos. Para ir en pareja, viajando solo, viajando con amistades, en familia. Hemos encontrado respeto, educación, civismo, cercanía, amabilidad, sonrisas.

Es ist ein Hostel, wo immer was los ist. 18:00-24:00 Musik auf der Terrasse, weil Terrasse und Garten mit dem Restaurant geteilt werden. Ab mittags Musik im Hostel. Unser Zimmer "mit Balkon" ging auf die allgemeine Terrasse heraus.

Me sentí muy cómoda, me parece un lugar con mucha personalidad y el jardín es una maravilla. Además el personal es muy atento, especialmente Gabriele, quién me dio mucha info del lugar, lugares para visitar y cosas que hacer. Fue muy simpático y muy agradable. Repetiría sin duda.

Er kwam een kakkerlak op onze kamer binnen via het raam, gelukkig maar één keer. En het was een beetje muf in de slaapkamer, maar met het geopende raam was dat zo opgelost

We arrived at 1 a.m. One staff member waited for us, welcomed us and showed us everything. Everyone was really nice. And the breakfast was delicious. We had nothing to complain about.

Gute Lage zur Innenstadt. Schöner Garten, leckeres Frühstück. Älters Gebäude mit Charme. Da es ein Hostel ist wird es überwiegend von ganz jungen Leuten besucht. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit Bad was sehr geräumig war. Bis auf die knartschige Treppe die direkt vor unserem Zimmer vorbei führte war es sehr ruhig.Wir sind durch eine Flug Verspätung erst in der Nacht angereist es wurde aber auf uns gewartet obwohl die Rezeption normalerweise um 0:00 schließt.

Liegt an einer sehr engen Straße Parken vor der Tür ist eher schlecht aber in Gehweite findet man einen Parkplatz.

Personalen var jättetrevlig och hjälpsam. Frukosten var super - kul att det var olika saker olika dagar. Det var trevligt att prata med unga människor från olika länder - alla var vänliga och trots att vi är äldre kände vi nu oss väldigt delaktiga. De ordnar jättefina utflykter och hiker och man kan äta middag tillsammans i den mysiga trädgården.

Trappan i vårt sovrum var brant och rätt farlig om man inte är van vid branta trappor (vilket vi är)

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine à Out of the Blue ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de chaleur. Toute l’équipe est vraiment adorable, disponible et souriante. Les lieux sont impeccablement propres et décorés avec beaucoup de goût et de soin. Le jardin est un vrai petit havre de paix, très agréable pour se détendre après une journée de découverte. Et que dire du restaurant Boavista… Une vraie pépite ! Nous y avons mangé les meilleurs repas de tout notre séjour aux Açores, aussi bien les petits-déjeuners que les dîners. Tout était délicieux, soigné et préparé avec beaucoup de talent. Un immense merci à toute l’équipe pour cette magnifique semaine. Nous repartons avec de très beaux souvenirs et une seule envie : revenir !

We loved the breakfasts and dinners in the garden with another guests. The bathroom was nice and clean. We didn't have to use the A/C but it's there if you need it. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Great staff, we had private room with private bathroom. Room was spacious and clean, bed comfortable. Bathroom was amazing, very good pressure of the shower (not so often in azores). Breakfast was good, outdoor area is very nice and comfy, liked the cat, the ducks and overall vibe.

Slightly pricy, but quality is good. Parking is a challenge, need to walk a bit and it’s paid during week days.

O pequeno almoço era super saboroso, na quantidade certa e mudava algum detalhe todos os dias. Todo o staff extremamente simpático e prestável e resolveram sempre qualquer solicitação da minha parte (razoáveis).

I've stayed in my fair share of hostels, and this one hit different. The Out of the Blue building is beautiful, homely, fun and clean. And the daily breakfasts, family diners and tours are memorable. 🧡 But it's the Out of the Blue family: Katka, Tom, 'the Italian guys': Giordi, Gabi and Marco, Berta,... that makes it hit different. They are effortlessly welcoming, warm, helpfull and authentic. And I just fucking love them. ❤️

Pleasant staff, we had an enjoyable family style dinner with interesting conversation. The beds were comfortable and the a/c kept things cool. The backyard area is quaint.

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hostel, super kreativ und liebevoll gestaltetes Interieur, total netter Empfang, sehr hilfsbereites Personal. Am tollsten ist der Hof mit Essensbereich, Garten, Pool, Hängematten, Enten und Katze. Wir haben hier nur eine Nacht verbracht und wären gerne noch länger geblieben, die Location hatte einfach nen guten Vibe.

Uns ist während unseres leider zu kurzen Aufenthaltes nichts negatives aufgefallen. Es ist halt ein Hostel und die Leute sitzen Abends länger, quatschen und hören Musik, die Fenster sind aber gut isoliert und wir haben bestens geschlafen.

Es ist eine bezaubernde Unterkunft mit einer extrem netten staff. Freuen uns schon zum Abschluss unserer Reise wieder dort zu wohnen.

We visited as a group of friends of more than 10 people. Right from the first contact, they were incredibly kind and helpful, and they accommodated all our extra requests along the way. They helped us with everything from handling late-arriving luggage to organizing quick breakfast meals in the morning. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay here. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always helpful throughout our visit. One of the highlights was the beautiful garden area — such a peaceful and cozy place to relax with a glass of wine in the evening. It really made the whole experience feel special. We would happily stay here again.

Loved the people, the cleanliness, and the location!

The hostel is in a pretty good location and has its own restaurant. They have a really cozy, beautiful garden courtyard with great music and a very pleasant vibe overall. The breakfast was truly excellent. The crowd here is almost exclusively English-speaking.

You should know that it is pretty noisy. I got the distinct impression that this is a youth hostel. People at reception talk loudly until very late, and the noise carries easily. Plus, you need to keep in mind that the floors everywhere are wooden, so you can hear every single step whenever a neighbor walks down the corridor. Sleeping without earplugs is challenging. I also got unlucky with my mixed dorm room, one guy was snoring incredibly loudly, which made getting any sleep quite a challenge. Overall, it's a good place to stay, but if you are looking for peace, quiet, and rest after a hike, I probably wouldn’t stay here for more than a couple of days.

Um lugar ideal para ficar, se estão à procura de um sítio com todas as comodidades e conforto! Os quartos eram confortáveis, super limpos, arejados, um design moderno com muitos toques açorianos. O pequeno almoço do hotel tinha o trivial, mas todos os dias tinham um prato diferente! Achei formidável ter panquecas vegan! Sem dúvida um spot que podem reservar sem receios!
