The hotel facility was so relaxed, with a beautiful heated outdoor pool with very comfortable loungers, a gas fire pit, and great coffee 24/7 on the lobby.

Absolutely nothing. Wish we could have stayed longer

Location was excellent with main strip out the front doors. Free coffee and water all day and easy pool access. Room was very clean and spacious - stayed in newer part of hotel.

Too much noise after 11:00 outside and in the halls.

The wifi in Grand Bend is spotty so TV kept freezing and buffering. I used my laptop to watch my shows.

The room was in a hallway, tiny, no windows, just a small window to the hall that didn’t open. Felt dark. No closet, no iron board, no coffee/water. For the price, very disappointed.

Pool, Location

Daily 12 hours music from the pool drove us crazy, noise from the people above, no kitchenette nor coffee inside the room, we got two rooms: - little room quite little - large room spacious but "empty" We had the idea to use the larger room for family breakfast or dining, but without any stuff it is just lost space. Our mistake when we made the booking, anyhow the steady music from the pool and other noise made our stay unpleasant, overpriced.

Hotel has been making upgrades for several years. And when I spoke to the lady at the front desk, there are still more upgrades coming, so excited to see what they're planning to do on my next visit.

The staff were very helpful and cooperative.

Our initial room was very small with a bed pushed up against one of the walls which made it rather awkward for to to enter and leave for older residents but the staff were very helpful in arranging an alternative.

Location was perfect, beautiful flowers and landscaping outside made the hotel feel very inviting upon arrival

The only thing that I didn’t like was the actual location of our room, it was in building B -101 and it’s right beside the stairwell and the exit door was extremely loud every time someone would enter. The slamming door multiple times after midnight was very disruptive of sleep. There are no windows to the outside, just into the hallway so you couldn’t open the blinds because other guests walking by your door could see in.

Floors were not well cleaned. Upon our arrival /check in to our room we felt sand on our feet which gave the initial impression of floors not properly being cleaned. Aside from that the overall stay and cleanliness of the room was good.

Very clean, beds are super comfortable. Best location for everything. Lobby is nice, the 24 hour water and coffee is a nice feature. The grounds are pretty and there is plenty of outdoor seating options.

The parking lot is extremely annoying. But what's worse is when you call the desk they tell you to call the number on the text you were sent 500 text messages ago. I feel like the check in process can go over this a little more in depth.

The room was extrenely small, truly the smallest one I have ever been in. We could barely walk around bed. I also didn't like that our room had a sliding door that exited directly onto the patio where people were sitting. Did not feel like we had any privacy at all.

the staff were awesome, friendly and took pride in their work. The beds were comfortable and we loved that each bed had four different pillows to choose from (flat to lofty) to help you have a better sleep overall. (which is great when you have neck issues and didn't pack your own pillow) We did book the triple bed unit & it worked out perfectly for us.

The only real criticism would be the opening hours of the restaurant, it opens at 11 am. It would of been nice to have been able to have breakfast at the hotel. We found that nothing really opens until 10 am on the main street. The Lake Hound opened at 8 am but they were booked solid with large parties, so they said it would be a long time before a table would be available. The lineup was long (This being on a wet, rainy weekend, we wondered what it must be like on a busy, sunny weekend in peak season?) That being said, the hotel does offer coffee and tea near the front desk.

It was very odd to be woken up by staff so early in the morning walking right into our room I feel like they should have definitely known what rooms were occupied or not or to at least knock on a door before just barging in

We liked the location, and the way the hotel was renovated. The staff were friendly and the place was clean.

No elevator, getting to the room was a challenge and we had to ask for our towels. No indoor restaurant. (The food was good though!)

We didn't have breakfast either day. However the options order food to your room was impressive. The location was in my opinion the best. The complimentary coffee and ice water was awesome to say the least. The staff were superb. I would recommend your accommodations highly to anyone.

The rooms featured in pictures when booking the room are very deceiving. The room was quite a bit smaller than anticipated. We would have liked some simple plastic cups in the room for beverages. Thought it was odd that there was not a coffee maker.

Loved the convenience ambiance and the lobby and room smelled divine. Would definitely stay here again. Food and service at the pool bar was excellent, and attentive. Front staff was extremely polite and friendly and would see ways to go above and beyond where needed.

The rooms lacked electrical circuits for the entire family and were in inconvenient spots in the room. The pool, could use better cleaning and maintenance. Water was murky and lots of bugs and hair that could have been scooped up throughout the day. At times it was very noisy and not relaxing with loud kids. It would be nice if a designated time for quiet or adult swim.

My wife and I have stayed at Colonial Hotel many times in the past and each and every time, we are very pleased! Never disapointed! Great staff, emenities, rooms and overall facility is very clean, modern with high quality features, furniture and appointments. Already planning another stay in October 2025!

Really not much to not like! The experience is great overall! A few "would be nice"... -A couple of extra fire pits would be nice, as there are only two -It's great that they give guests free parking during their stay, which is very much appreciated!, on checkout day, checkout is 11:00am, and free parking ends at noon. Parking is fairly expensive at $10.00 hr. Perhaps consider a discounted rate for guests on their last day? It'd be nice to pack the car and spend your last day exploring downtown, maybe visit the beach etc. before heading home without paying so much to park? We checked out on Monday and the parking lot was only 15%-20% capacity. Just a thought! Otherwise great place to stay!

colonial salad was really tasty, wings too! spinach dip not great :( very watery and tasteless; suggestion - add 5pc wings as an option for smaller bellies 👍🏼 i’m still not sure about the idea of keeping the pool open to the public! parking for hotel guests - perhaps consider another lane for hotel guests to pull into and not have to wait with the general public

Spent a night in the jacuzzi suite for a quick getaway. Room was clean and the fireplace was lovely, the jacuzzi was very relaxing and the fragrance oils were a nice touch. The bed was a bit on the stiff side, and the only real problem is that the suite is situated directly in front of the street lights with a very large set of corner windows. Black out curtains would be an asset!

For our anniversary night away we typically go to the Kiwi Motel in Grand Bend but we wanted to try out something new and chose this hotel specifically because their website said their outdoor heated pool was open thru October (depending on the weather). We were disappointed when we arrived on a blue sky, oddly warm (28 Celsius) October (20th) day to hear it was not open. The pool was clean and beautiful looking though. We asked the front desk, and they had no reason. They said they'd ask the manager, but never heard back. We messaged them on social media but no response. They should update their website as it's misleading and check their social media inbox more frequently. Beyond that, the renovation to the hotel were really well done. There are lots of seating areas outside and we enjoyed the bonfire pits. Our "Superior Queen" courtyard room was probably the smallest hotel room weve ever stayed in, but it was clean and modern. The bed was not actually a queen bed but instead a double...again update the website so it's not misleading. The location is great being right on the strip. It was cool to check out how the old Colonial had been renovated, but to be honest for the price minus pool, and micro room, we won't likely be back.

Amazing location! Close to restaurants, beach and shops.

Excessive noise at night is a problem. The rooms are situated in close proximity, and the hallways facilitate the carrying of sounds, including voices and crying babies. I had to call security twice. It would be wise to place couples and families on separate floors.

Room was freezing has heat pump set at 80 to be comfortable no tub terrible shower no nice rain forecast shower just one plain shower head no pulsating shower head you had to be careful getting out of the shower as there is a hard metal door stop that hurt if you stepped on it no in the room coffee had to walk the equivalent of half a city block to get coffee in the morning coffee bar one hot pot of coffee my local second cup has more coffee out asked for a blanket got one a well used velux requested a room change to a warmer room with a tub.....was told my classification wouldn't cover so $199 gets you a bed and a blanket. Will not stay here again a local hotel has a king sized room with a fire place and an in room coffee maker for $149. No restaurant no bar cold and unhappy was very happy to say good bye to mediocrity
