Noisy. I was in a bedroom above the kitchen which was very noisy until the kitchen closed at night. The hotel is in a convenient location and the views from the room were super.
Good menu for breakfast
Lovely hotel. Spent 5 nights here in September. Very convenient location for sightseeing around the area. We ate here every evening and breakfast. The food was excellent. There were few staff but the service was very good.
Pet friendly, very nice, spotless room. Star very helpful and warm. Room was incredibly hot due to the weather, though there was fan. Restaurant food quite decent (it's a Chef and Brewer). We didn't have the breakfast as we had early starts each day (extra £). Unfortunately there was no in room fridge for us to keep the dog's food in, which was a minor problem due to the heat.
Restaurant was not in the same league as the hotel. Service staff operated at their convenience rather than client. Poor food (toad in the hole was execreble! But friends were paying so I didn’t to offend). Hotel staff were great and rooms were excellent.
Fabulous stay, staff welcoming attentive and smiling. Room a treat, balcony with view overlooking the Menai. Bed very comfortable ( setee too ). Was a bit noisy on Saturday night but didn’t bother us. Garden seating a real area of tranquility
Staff were very friendly, though we only had dealings with breakfast staff. Breakfast was ok, though limited choice on the 2nd morning when we went down for breakfast. We had a large room which was spacious, but just was let down by rips in the bedding. Nearly £400 for 2 nights, I would have expected better.
Absolutely beautiful outside space, a well kept garden with superb views over the Menai Strait. Room was lovely, very clean and well maintained; the bed was comfortable and we had a great balcony (again, with views over the Strait). The shower was ok, just about warm enough. The staff were friendly and the service was very good (special mention to Nathan, whether first thing at breakfast or serving us at the bar, unfailingly polite and on the ball). We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.
Room wasn't what we expected Wasn't the one shown on website It was smaller
Nice stay good food
Parking was tricky when we arrived as there were a lot of people eating at the restaurant. The room was neat and tidy and the shower facilities was excellent.
Fantastic hotel, can’t wait to return, clean and very comfortable a great base to stay for exploring the area .staff were friendly and welcoming.
Very nice rooms and staff who could not be more helpful and friendly . Food quality excellent with a wide choice .
Primarily a pub with rooms, rather than a hotel, it is part of quite a large chain so expect a corporate identity. That said, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room we had felt small and the bathroom felt cramped, also the bathroom could have been cleaner (shower tray and skirting boards). The room was very noisy from quite early in the morning and there was quite a lot of noise from other rooms. When eating in the restaurant, the quality of meals served seemed a bit hit and miss and is best described as adequate rather than special in any way, the menu exactly matches that of our local Chef and Brewer. I don’t think we will be returning.
Menai is a great centre for touring Anglesey and the mainland. The hotel has lovely views over the straits and the gardens are beautiful. The public areas are stylish and comfortable and so are the bedrooms. The staff are efficient, pleasant and very helpful.
The rooms are really nice and the views are great, the food in the pub downstairs is extremely good. The only down side is no lift so you have to carry bags up the stairs but the stay is worth it
Great location, gorgeous garden looking over the river Menai, spotlessly clean and super staff who are friendly and happy to help. Loved our stay, would recommend
Fantastic hotel , lovely staff and great food . We had a wonderful stay , especially welcoming to our dog !
Beautiful hotel, friendly people. The worst hard pillows and had a fire alarm( false alarm) at 8 am.
Lovely staff-very polite, helpful and friendly.
This was our second stay at The Victoria and this time we took my parents. We all loved our stay! Perfect location and brilliant hotel!
Nice cozy hotel room Quite thin doors could hear a bit of door slamming! Nice pub attached to the hotel too
From start to finish our 2 day stay was everything we hoped for .stunning views from our balcony over the menai straits ALL the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend the Victoria Hotel .ps food was very good.
Lovely hotel for a weekend away. Great location in Menai Bridge, with activities and restaurants easily walkable. Breakfast was lovely, the rooms were stylish and comfortable and the service was friendly. It was my second time staying here and I would definitely stay again.
It was amazing, although stairs were a big struggle we had to climb four flights of stairs, no lift due to been a listed building
The hotel bar & restaurant was fresh, new and inviting. I felt it was a little over priced for a standard double room. The sash windows banged with the wind so o had to wedge them closed. Also the green LED over the exit in room was so bright it eliminated the room so again I had to improvise and stick something over it. Also we did not have a TV remote… I looked high and low but after a long wait at an unmanned reception this was finally sorted. Overall great looking historic hotel friendly staff but over priced imo. Must try Dylan’s down the lane - awesome food!!!
I love how the rooms give a very cosy and warm feeling. The message from Steve and the team made me feel positive as I was staying alone.
Had a wonderful experience at the Victoria Hotel in Menai Bridge. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with beautiful views of the Menai Strait. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the food at the restaurant was delicious – especially the fresh seafood. Breakfast was amazing, seated in the conservatory. A perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend!
Bathroom far too small. The hotel room was really nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable but the size of the bathroom really let this room down. The toilet was so close to the sink unit that it hit your knees! ( I am of average size ) There was also nowhere to put your toothpaste and brush and the sink was so tiny. I wouldn’t stay again it was so uncomfortable and claustrophobic. Ruined our stay
We had an amazing time at The Victoria. Huge room with fantastic view, massive bed and fabulous bathroom. The food was delicious and the views outstanding. The value for money was unbeatable. We will definitely be booking again
Hotel really nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean, bed comfy. HOWEVER, the bathroom was a joke. Tiny doesn’t start to describe it. Couldn’t sit on toilet with door closed and shower so small and difficult to access it was a joke. £100+ room fee totally unjustifiable with such an inadequate bathroom.
Usually stay at the Management Centre in Bangor but Victoria Hotel popped up on my feed. Great, fast reception. Lovely, clean room with amazing views over the Menai straits and bridge. Food and service at dinner was exceptional. Faultless from everyone. Thank you
fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic bar, fantastic restaurant, fantastic garden, fantastic view
Great Staff, food was delicious
Really lovely stay, very dog-inclusive, all the staff were very attentive and hardworking even in crazy holiday period. Balcony room was a surprise but a welcome one, rooms were done daily and tea bags refilled. Only issue was slightly worn bathroom, but still clean and tidy and presented well.
Most enjoyable - brilliant views, decent food and comfortable warm room
The noise! I think the room was above the bar which was very busy, both nights
Everything about our stay was perfect. It was a peaceful night kid free night away for myself, partner and pooch. Normally we get a scruffy room because we have a dog but this hotel doesn’t do scruffy. It was immaculate inside and out and the decor was beautiful. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. It is the perfect location to get away from it all and the scenery is beautiful being right next to the straits. The food was second to none and great choice of drinks. We had a room with a balcony which was a real treat and unexpected. I can’t wait to return.
The property would get a 5 star rating but sadly my room was next to the kitchen and early morning noise 6am can be heard and then tonight I can here loud music along with the general kitchen noise as my hearing is bad I can only assume anyone with normal hearing will be disturbed more than myself in this room.
Stayed for 3 nights 22nd- 25th Oct with friends. Our rooms were superb with balconies looking over the Menai. Breakfast each morning was relaxed and excellent choices. Staff were attentive and friendly at all times and made us and our dog Monty very welcome. We would love to return. Thanks to everyone!!!
Room was very nice and large with a balcony to the river view. However, room has clearly had a damp problem in the past and requires decoration. Biggest issue with this hotel is the lack of a resident's lounge. Once the bar had closed, we were unceremoniously kicked out and told to go to our rooms. Clearly we were no longer allowed to talk to our friends who had travelled a long distance to join us.
Fabulous relaxing stay Dog well catered for too Many thanks
Hotel bar restaurant very nice ,and roast very good very affordable price. Outside great view over Menai strait and view outside ground the bedroom.
Stayed for 4 nights lovely staff and a nice clean room.parking was a nightmare and had to park a few streets away. Slightly over price as no much parking there.
All was excellant
Nice hotel and great location for touring Anglesey
It was comfortable. The food was good. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I would come back here
The Hotel was excellent, clean, good bar and restaurant facilities. The external terrace was superb. All the staff were extremely friendly & helpful.
The staff were very friendly and efficient. There were a couple of issues with the room which were resolved. The gardens and view across Menai Straits were lovely. The main menu was quite limited, but the food was OK and portion size generous. Breakfast was good. Main issue was there was no designated resident parking which was an issue as the pub/restaurant side was very busy.
Amazing Time staff were outstanding couldn’t do enough for you Clean and furniture looked amazing One of the best places I have stayed at
Overall nice place. The room was small and a bit pricey but good attention to detail.
Had a great stay on a lovely weekend in Wales. The staff were all extremely friendly and we enjoyed a nice meal and drinks in the restaurant and also sat outside in the large beer garden.
Wonderful views of the bridge, and the mountains on the mainland. Central position with easy access to the roads around Anglesey.
Hotel was lovely. Room on the small side. Drinks expensive. Avoid the sirloin steak as expensive and poor quality and badly cooked! Breakfast was lovely
Great position for both Anglesey and the mainland. Helpful staff and well appointed room. It would be really helpful to have the option of lighter duvet, the one provided was too warm for us and made a good nights sleep difficult.
Very pleasant hotel with good food in a lovely setting overlooking the Menai Strait.
Beautiful location. Lovely garden with stunning views. Our stay was a real treat...room, breakfast, staff, garden and views.
Great staff. Beautiful room overlooking the water. Excellent breakfast.
Beautifully decorated room overlooking the river. Super friendly staff at check in and serving a home cooked breakfast. Lovely respite.
Lovely rooms with great views from the balcony but it was the friendly and efficient staff that made the stay so enjoyable.
The room and view for the Victoria was really pretty. You could see the Menai bridge from the balcony and the river. Lovely area with view outside to eat as well. Everything was clean and good quality in terms of the room. The only thing that let the stay down was the food. The menu options in the evening were limited for vegetarians and vegans and the quality / taste of the food itself was average. Would definitely stay again but e
Very hospitable, considerate and friendly. I am a solo female visitor, travelling alone for a family funeral. I couldn't have felt safer or better looked-after.
Nice place, really good location. A few minor details could have been better. Hot water wasn't very hot and the toilet seat was badly fixed. Good to have a teapot in the room for making hot drinks.
hotel and staff excellent but food and drink expensive
Before our stay we were asked to have a double room instead of the comfort deluxe I’d booked due to shower problems (?) I hadn’t paid beforehand so that was fine. The room and en-suite were beautiful. Very friendly staff. Our room (3) was above the Bar and was very noisy when I was trying to get to sleep. I was woken up at 6am by the lorry outside the window delivering beer barrels. Breakfast was lovely. The restaurant room is the nicest we’ve ever eaten in and the view was amazing.
Beautiful place, fantastic staff, amazing value for money and ideal for work. I will be back
The ladies working on reception/front house could not have been more helpful or friendly, made the stay very positive and the rooms were very nice. Will definitely come back.
Very nice hotel.
One night stay for business. Instant sense of a warm and friendly place. Good food, good value served by friendly staff. Will be back with the family.
Very clean recently renovated rooms. Lovely pub. Great location. Friendly and welcoming staff
Staff are very welcoming, room was spacious with a great view of Menai Straits. Generous variety of breakfast options, breakfast service was exceptional and food was cooked to perfection. Thanks for a great stay!
A1
Since our last stay the renovations have enhanced our stay with a lovely room, bar welcome by receptionist a brilliant restaurant whose waitresses were so efficient and pleasant. The plug in the bathroom needs attention and another shelf is needed there for toothbrushes All in all a wonderful stay.
Last minute booking as a stop gap until we could check into our AirBnB for the week, the team at Victoria were brilliant, service was amazing, food was fantastic and they were super accommodating for us and our dog. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again when we’re next in the area. Highly suitable for business and pleasure. Room standards very high, all the amenities you’d expect - decent WiFi 60mb download speeds which is abnormal for somewhere quite remote.
Brilliant hotel amazing staff ! Will deffinately be booking again soon ! The hotel was such a calm place loved it
Good food, drinks and service. Comfortable room too.
A great deal of money has obviously been spent recently. A lovely clean, comfortable stay.
Outstanding! From parking onsite, to great customer service at check in/out, fabulous surroundings, atmosphere, ambience and the room was so beautifully decorated! Very comfortable bed, real care and attention to detail down to the glasses for water, teacup and saucer even a full length mirror and a hand written note on the bed with Green and Blacks chocolates!! Important things like ENOUGH PLUG SOCKETS and in the RIGHT PLACES which are extremely important to me as a woman who travels for work. Also - Incredibly clean!!! Oh and the Food … And the wine!!! Affordable, great variety and delicious!! ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING !!!!
Nice comfortable Victorian stylish hotel. Nice bar and restaurant area, comfortable rooms
We were visiting Anglesey and wanted somewhere convenient to both Beaumaris and Gaerwen. We stayed in the Victoria before the recent refurbishment. It is outstanding - REALLY well done with attractive rooms and public areas. They have even improved the outside terrace overlooking the Straits with tables outside the dining room accessible through folding glass door (couldn't use when we were there - Storm Ciaran!!!) A great place to stay with lovely staff!!
