Great staff and overall a good hotel, free breakfast and rooftop bar is a bonus. Mam at reception was super helpful too. There were some minor issues like shower head was a little defective but thats minor.

A beautifully appointed hotel, rooms were spacious, rooftop bar was comfortable with great views and amazing food. Staff were very helpful in helping us get out lost bags from airline. Driver who took us to Darjeeling was exceptional in difficult driving conditions. Central location.

Staff was very responsive. We arrived on the spot & booked 2 rooms, they were ready for single occupancy. Room was very clean.

Good effort by all the staff, all were courteous and professional. A little oasis in a chaotic city. We used establishment for one night before travelling up to Darjeeling to visit family for two weeks and then another night upon on returning before an early morning flight to Delhi for connecting flight to UK.

Clean, modern, comfortable, great bed, super shower, great lights/lamp composition ....I felt extremely well. I'm not a breakfast person - just had coffee - but what I saw was a nice buffet.

Das Sunhill Portico ist ein modernes, großes Hotel mit einem guten Restaurant und einer Bar. Es liegt im Zentrum der Stadt ist aber ruhig. Die Zimmer sind groß, sauber und komfortabel. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit. Wir waren zweimal dort und können es weiterempfehlen.

Centraly located and easy to reach train Station by foot.

Hotel old and not in very good shape. Therefore almost impossible to maintain clean. Water leaking and bathroom floor constantly wet. Location within th shoping Center not charming. Buffet with very little variation.

The hotel was well located. The rooms exceptional for the price we had to pay. The rooftop bar and restaurant was exceptional.

Bij aankomst werd ik vriendelijk en professioneel ontvangen door Bhumi van de receptie. Ik nam mijn diner in de bar. Het eten was lekker en de bediening was vriendelijk en professioneel. Het ontbijt was in buffetvorm en was lekker.

Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Das Hotel liegt zentral und doch ruhig in einer Seitenstraße und bietet jeglichen Komfort (internationaler Standard). Wir haben insgesamt 4 Nächte übernachtet. Wir erhielten jegliche Unterstützung (Fahrer, etc.). Alle Mitarbeitenden waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Für unsere "deutschen" Verhältnisse ist das Hotel sehr günstig. Besonders gut hat uns die Rooftopbar gefallen, in der es eine zahlreiche Getränkeauswahl, Essen, aber auch Life-Musik gab sowie einen wundervollen Rundumblick auf Siliguri. Wir können das Hotel wirklich sehr empfehlen und würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten.

Leider war das Frühstück gut bis mittelmäßig. Die Auswahl war sehr vielfältig. Leider waren die Speisen teilweise nur laufwarm, leider auch der Tee. Es wäre besser, wenn man die Speisen frisch zubereiten würde.

The hotel is great! The photos are super accurate which is rare in this part of the world. The reception staff were super kind and welcoming. The beds and room were perfect! I particularly enjoyed the shower! Great stay!

Unfortunately the restaurant staff on the first floor were super incompetent and had to confirm with me about 5 times whether I wanted a coffee or not, which was frustrating at the time.

The overall ambience, the hospitality, the quality was quite satisfactory. Sumptuous breakfast with variety available. The cleanliness of both the rooms and the toilet is also to be mentioned.

The AC system needs a complete overhaul, room was not cooled to the extent required for a comfortable stay.

I spend a lot of time to figure out how to switch off the lights in the room.

We initially ended up in a awrful place in a town 40 minutes away, we decided to leave there and head to Sunhill in Namchi and this was the best decision we made on our trip. It was stunning waking up to a view of the Himalayas, walked to the Hindu temple and rose garden, and the staff were really helpful in organising a taxi and shared jeep for us.

The restaurant/bar was a weird vibe which may have been because it was so quiet. They didn't have any alcohol and the food was okay. It's a fair walk to other food options which wasn't an option for us as it was heavily raining.

We returned to this hotel after spending some days in Sikkim. It felt Ike "coming home." The manager and all of the staff are so lovely and professional. The hotel is modern and clean. The rooftop area is a perfect place to spend the evening. This is an excellent hotel. I'd say 4, not 3 stars.

Beautiful hotel, more 4 than 3 stars. Driver meet us at the airport very promptly. Happy and beaming staff, even delivering a cake and singing happy birthday for a member of our group. Genuinely happy (or they are very good actors. Fabulous rooftop bar, again, super attentive staff. Nice breakfast and availability of refreshing cold drinks around the hotel. We only stayed one night, so I can not comment about the location I relation to things to do in Siliguri. This is a fabulous hotel with a professional manager and staff. The rooms are big and clean with all the amenities that I require. A paper delivered under my door was much appreciated. We are booked in again.

A beautiful hotel. Comfortable and very clean rooms with lovely powerful shower. The staff were exceptional. Friendly, helpful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were great and we ate in the bar 2 nights where the food and service were great. The attention to detail was fantastic. If you stay in Siliguri stay here!!

Staff at f&b needs to get their act together

We stayed there for a week between 31st Dec - 7th January, and also additionally booked their delo retreat in Kalimpong (2nd - 4th January). I’m honestly baffled by the positive reviews this hotel has received because my stay was nothing short of a disaster. From start to finish, it was a complete failure on every level. See my detailed comments below.

First off, the hotel was completely unprepared. Despite several specific requests made before booking, they did absolutely nothing to accommodate us. It’s beyond frustrating to make arrangements well in advance, only to be completely ignored upon arrival. The staff? Absolutely terrible. Rude, uninterested, and unprofessional. The rooftop bar (brewberry) was a joke— the staff (Rohan or Raunak in particular) there were not only inattentive, but outright hostile and cheap in behaviour. We waited for over 90 minutes for drinks and food we ordered, and when they still hadn’t arrived, we were forced to leave and move to the downstairs restaurant. It was embarrassing for me and my invited guests (with kids), and it completely ruined our evening. The lack of basic service and professionalism was astonishing. With only one exception, however, which was Mr Siba Das who was there for a day or two out of our 7 days stay. He did try to improve some of it but it was too late after a series of disaster already made by the hotel staff. To top it off, the hotel was disorganised and lacked basic hospitality. It’s clear they couldn’t care less about their guests. If you’re looking for any form of decent service or to have your simple requests respected, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. For us who’s traveled to over 50 countries and lived in highly rated and professionally maintained hotels, this place is a complete disgrace!
