Staff were nice. Decor was very good - tasteful colour scheme and good furnishings. Good pint of Barnsley Bitter in the bar. Comfortable rooms.
Not much choice for breakfast if you didn't want cooked breakfast. The breakfast tea didn't taste good so the next day we asked for hot chocolate, which was kindly served to us and that was fine.
Extremely clean and tea making facilities were good, comfy bed.
It’s was noisy as my bedroom was facing the road- quiet between 2-5am.
Excellent
All excellent
Clean tidy well proportioned room. Shower was powerful.
Breakfast was haphazard. Only 1 member of staff to both cook and serve, so it wasn’t quick. Little choice of food if you didn’t like or want a full breakfast. It’s on the main road so there’s a lot of traffic noise
Good location, free onsite parking. Friendly staff, nice clean room and good food.
The breakfast was lovely, local products and full of flavour. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The shower was fabulous in the Wharfe room.

Room was immaculate, and a large fan was provided, as we were in the middle of an exceptional heat wave.
Felt the food could have been better.
The manager was great, good pub, good breakfast - all good
Everything, the staff were really friendly, food and drink were fantastic absolutely brilliant
Nothing
Perfect location for us doing the Pennine Way. Room was very nice and the food ok.
Would have liked an earlier breakfast.
Excellent room and bathroom. Nicely furnished and very clean. Lovely helpful staff. Good choice of food on menu
Property looks a bit tired from the outside which doesn’t do it justice inside.
We've stayed before, the staff are excellent, the food also. Will return again when in the area.
Such a lovely pub, excellent food, friendly staff, everything you need for a few days away. Couldn't be faulted. We'll definitely go again.
Nothing
Large room with sunny aspect
The room faced the road. With the windows open there was a suprising amount of traffic noise.
Clean and comfortable bedroom. Well appointed
Very rushed evening meal. Staff not very attentive. Breakfast slow ( opposite to the evening ) not brilliant quality food.
good breakfast but would like to see more choice, including vegetarian options
Entry to shower cubicle was too small
Lovely comfortable room, nice decor, tea making and biscuits in room. Comfortable bed. Good food and nice atmosphere in dining room. Excellent cooked breakfast
Rooms big & nicely refurbished. Lovely new bathrooms with powerful shower. Very comfortable bed. Clean and tidy. Fridge in room that actually was cold a great bonus. No extra charge for dog which is great. Enclosed beer garden.
Like all hotels and inns hard to keep cool in a heatwave though tower fan provided. There are better fans that would cool than these though. Beer garden needs a bit of attention to match standards of pub.
Pleasant staff, good breakfast 😋
Friday night was noisy with regular punters. Also the use of bad language by the same should be curtailed.
Super room, great staff great facilities in room
Nothing at all
Good location and good food
Breakfast was a bit slow one morning
What a lovely find comfortable clean and nice food
Great location, good value for money.
Not enough space around the bed making it a little difficult to move around. Quite alot of road noise. Room was quite hot despite fan being available.
Lovely room. Friendly staff. Evening meal was good.
On the main road, too noisy to keep the window open even though it was very warm, a fan was provided though. We felt as if there should have been more than one person around at breakfast as he was having to take orders and cook the breakfast and serve, not very easy when three couples were there to eat breakfast at the same time. There wasn’t a written breakfast menu which would have been helpful!
Fabulous home cooked breakfast. My husband (a self confessed coffee snob) really appreciated the freshly made Americano coffee with breakfast (lacking in so many hotels). The room was average size but with a reasonable bathroom and excellent shower. Rooms and bathrooms looked as though they have been renovated fairly recently. Good range of ales available.
Cooked Breakfast was very good ideal location for our walking stopover. Comfortable clean room, very well cooked tasty evening meal. Good value for money.
Good location in centre of Gargrave good parking lovely breakfast. Staff very nice.
Our room was a bit small but new that when booking.
Super clean, modern and comfortable rooms. Great amenities in room. Very friendly and helpful owner. Breakfast was fantastic, plenty of it, and really tasty full English. Plenty of parking. Easy to find location.

We only stayed one night during a flying visit to Yorkshire. Room was good size and clean. There are tea and coffee making equipment in the room. We stayed on Sunday so enjoyed a Sunday roast in the evening as they serve until 8.30. They served a hearty breakfast and had free parking.
The room was clean a good size and refreshments fabulous. A fridge is an added extra. Dur yo the heat a fan was in the room. Overall a fabulous expetience. A 15 min drive from Skipton. I would recommend visiting Malham a great walk and a pub for a refreshing drink. Breakast was lovely.
Nothing.
Cooked Breakfast was very good ideal location for our walking stopover.
A great full English breakfast. A very good steak dinner in the evening. A good dark beer on tap. A lovely garden to relax in the evening.
I can’t find fault with this experience. Staff worked hard to make my stay very enjoyable.
What a great find this was. The room was really nicely decorated, clean and quiet. The pub food was excellent for both evening meal and breakfast and there was a great beer garden
Nothing not to like.
Lovely village pub that doubled as a hotel.
On the main road to Skipton and very noisy.
Clean room , friendly staff and excellent food
Traffic noise off main road
The hotel is located in just the right spot, near to Settle and Malham, it has every facility you could need, nice pub, restaurant, comfortable rooms with every facility you need and excellent sound proofing, you can't hear a pin drop at night.
The excellent soundproofing, I always sleep really well at this hotel, the beds are really comfy and the breakfast is excellent. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The hotel has clearly recently been renovated and the decor throughout is excellent,
Very friendly staff and good location
Some of the public areas need a refrei
Nice place. Room comfy. Food was good and staff accommodated us well
Very convenient for walks
I would suggest maybe to have a summer duvet as it was really warm in the room but they did provide a fan.
Old fashioned country inn, but pleasantly surprised to find updated rooms with good facilities, including a tower fan . ( a necessity these days with the continental weather we are having. ) Staff smiling and helpful, food good with chef coping under pressure.
Initial impression exterior due redecoration, so inside and rooms really good.
The staff were excellent. Ian was a very hard working Manager who kept the pub/hotel running smoothly. All the staff worked hard to welcome you but Larna was exceptional. We had to book for an evening meal and we were glad were did as it was very good. The pub was the hub of the village. All the locals were very friendly and helpful. The pub is ideally placed to visit the local steam railway, Harrogate and the RHS Gardens. The Liverpool to Leeds canal is 200 metres away and there is nice 5 mile walk along it to Skipton. We had a fantastic stay and will come back.
Ian was on his own, on weekdays, serving and cooking breakfast. This meant after taking all the orders he'd disappear for 30 mins to cook it. Therefore during this time there were no refills of hot drinks and if you arrived whilst he was cooking you'd have to wait until he'd finished to order a drink and your breakfast. When breakfast arrived it was well cooked and delicious and served on hot plates. More staff is a must during the week. Ian is working as hard as he can but he needs help at breakfast.
I loved the decor the the lovely chef and the lady in the morning doing 3 jobs at once. Very clean and comfortable
It was warm upstairs and no aircon.
Amazing shower and large parking area. I appreciated the owner's attention to food waste.
Very nice room, good facilities. Very nice staff.
Due to very hot weather the room was very hot. No fault of the hotel, more to do with the weather.
Lovely clean room, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent food both in the evening and breakfast.
Difficult to find a negative.
Ian who does breakfasts is a top guy. Nothing a problem.
Noise off main road but that’s unavoidable
Just a short drive from Malham nestled in a lovely little village about 4-5 miles from Skipton. Breakfast was worth waiting for and the staff were friendly and helpful. Although the main menu was a little limited, there’s a few different options and food was good quality and plenty of it. On-site parking was very useful and although for us the weather wasn’t right during our stay, it had a good size beer garden which looked fab.
Very hot room (a fan would have been helpful and maybe with climate change all hotels will need to consider A/C - at a cost of course), and on a major road with very early farm traffic, which meant we were left with a choice of traffic noise or a hot sweaty night - we chose windows open and accepted the noise. Although an inn the main bar is quite small and got very busy so on a couple of nights we were in other rooms with less atmosphere. Saying that it’s obviously a local hub, which is great.
Cute location and amazing service
The property was well located. Staff welcomed us on arrival, showed us to our room explained fire procedure to us. Asked if we wanted to book a meal for the evening. Very friendly. Room was lovely tea and coffee available comfortable bed lovely hot shower. Very clean.
Nothing to dislike
Friendly - good location- good evening meal
Breakfast slow no fruit
Breakfast was fine, disappointed in evening meal, room was ok.
Evening meal consisted of fish and chips, served within less than 10 minutes, and was warmed up food very crispy. The answer from the member of staff was it was cooked at 180 degrees and he offered me to come and look to see if it was fresh. Then didn,t offer chance for dessert.
Food absolutely lovely
Great location for our activities, room was spacious and well-appointed. Nice range of beers, good food and friendly staff. Our room had a fridge which was very handy following our visit to the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes.
Breakfast was of the finest quality and the location was in an excellent location for exploring The Yorkshire Dales.
The bar could have been a little quieter, but wasn't an issue.
Breakfast was excellent, Location 10minutes bus ride into skipton
Everything , brilliant place and hosts

Excellent
Was right on the main route to were we were going …I rang ahead to say we wouldn’t be arriving until 9.30 and that was fine …a lovely welcome on arrival ,showed to our room which was lovely and spacious and clean with a huge bed and a seating area with a pod machine along with tea /coffee making …..the breakfast was amazing ,freshly cooked ,asked for a small …glad I did as that was plenty
Nothing to not like
The location was excellent, room was very comfortable, clean and in excellent order bed was very comfortable to the breakfast that was served the next morning was delicious. Glad we chose here I would highly recommend because we were made to feel welcome as well.
Nothing
Friendly staff
The steak I ordered was well done and gristly (I asked for Medium). They knocked the steak off my bill and I ordered something else. Other than that it was pretty good.
Supurb, something for everyone, and great service
Could NOT find any faults withh our stay
Redecoration and refurbishment attractive upstairs. I
Dining areas need a rethink re furnishing .main road more noticed than expected
There was plenty of parking, great access. The manager was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing
Very helpful friendly staff, room was immaculate and shower cubicle big and plenty of hot water. Food in pub was delicious.

It’s a very nice country pub in a lovely village location. Helpful staff and good facilities. Good range of beers!
Bedroom we had (Wharfe) was very small and not easy to reach with luggage. OK for 1 night I suppose! Restaurant menu whilst nice food is quite limited.
Beautiful rooms, very comfy bed and staff were lovely. Breakfast was tasty.
The room was like a furnace, so hot even with a fan on.
The style, cost, staff, bathroom and the secondary double glazing, when fully closed, works really well keeping road noise out
We stayed in the room called Linton and the space either side of the bed is limited.
Room was lovely and clean and comfortable, breakfast was good quality and hot. This was the third time we have stopped and will stop again in the furture.
No negatives from me to report.
Nicely furnished room - very comfortable. Good breakfast
Road noise with window open because of heat.
Comfortable room and absolutely lovely staff. In a great setting with a superb breakfast. This is my second stay here and I’ll definitely be back. Took my dog and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming.
Nothing
Good value for money. Staff very helpful and friendly. Sunday Evening meal very tasty. Breakfast was a bit haphazard had to wait a lo g time but very tasty.
Having to wait a good half hr for breakfast.
The room was lovely and so was the shower
The road was a little noisy at times but that can’t be helped considering the property is in a main road
Good sized room, very clean, good choice and quality of food both breakfast and dinner
Lovely location.Very pleasant staff. A very comfortable and spacious room. A splendid Sunday roast and a lovely breakfast. The village is beautiful.
Lovely room with modern facilities. Great breakfast and a friendly host.
Pillows very hard and the quilt was to warm.
Room was fine. But would have thought there would be more choice for breakfast than just a full English which could have been cooked better.
Breakfast. Very limited choice not cooked very well.
Lovely stay at the old swan, nice food breakfast is freshly cooked. Rooms clean and comfortable
Very welcoming staff, room comfortable and cosy . Ate dinner there and gammon was excellent, breakfast was delicious too. Second time we’ve stayed there and enjoyed it both times.
Nothing
The manager, Ian, and all his staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and diner, all top quality produce and cooked to order. Great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Good selection of beers and other drinks in the bar.
Nothing to complain about.
Good room with decent shower. Parking facilities were good. Breakfast is cooked fresh.
Having a room facing the road was a little noisy, but you are in a small village with an A road going through it.
Very friendly,good. Food
Only gripe was slow food service at breakfast
Great room, clean and well appointed. Very good breakfast.
Everything was perfect the staff and the food was out of this world the break fast done by Ian was the best I had in years totally enjoyed the place gargrave is a lovely place wish I could move there totally recommend to all
N/A ,,, nothing everything was great
Great location, not far from Settle at all. Lovely breakfast and good sized room with a comfy bed.
The carpet/floor wasn’t the cleanest in the bedroom and bathroom. It had quite a few bits across it. Looked to me as though the vacuum was maybe slightly blocked when used so not picking up properly. Or maybe time to invest in a Shark hoover! No oat milk out at breakfast - I didn’t get the opportunity to ask once I had realised as there was only one member of staff doing everything including cooking breakfast (which was delicious!).
Clean and well decorated
Nothing bad to say
Location Rooms were very clean and comfortable Good value for money Friendly environment
Nothing
There was a slight mishap over food which the manager/owner rectified immediately and he went over and beyond expectations in receiving what was just a little thing really but we were blown away by his generosity. The room was immaculately clean and very comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was amazing and for the price we were charged for the room was unbelievable value.
That we only booked for one night, wish we had stayed for a few nights but that's on us so will definitely be back.
Clean spacious room. Food in restaurant very good. Staff friendly and very helpful. Value for money. Close to local places of interest.

Lovely hotel pub and restaurant would recommend it without any hesitation staff very helpful and friendly.
Well located for walking the Pennine Way. The room was comfortable. The shower room was modern.
Located on a busy main road, which meant some traffic noise. The welcome could’ve been warmer.
