The outdoor is great. The breeze in the valley is very pleasant when you stay in the balcony.

The bathroom facilities are a bit old. When people upstairs drop things on the floor at night, it’s very loud. And the restaurant is a bit overpriced with service fee added as the food is average.

Great location, food was some of the best we had in Bali and extremely well priced. Service from all staff at the resort was top tier, such great employees. Great infinity pool with floating lounges and awesome private pools for some of the rooms. Free shuttles to the grab locations. Near the Campuhan Ridge walk

Nous tenons à remercier sincèrement tout le staff rencontré qui a été d'une gentillesse et d'une amabilité incroyable tout au long de notre séjour. Le spa, la piscine à débordement, la salle de sport, la décoration de la chambre (et en général), sont autant de points positifs que nous avons apprécié. Un grand merci pour cet accueil nous repartons avec de très beaux souvenirs.

Kastara is a very beautiful hotel where you really are a part of the jungle. It is built quite high up and the views are amazing from your room. The staff are incredible and always wanting to ensure that you have everything you need. It's a perfect walking distance to town through the Campuhan Ridge.

Some sitting space in the room apart from just your bed would have been great.

The staff were very attentive and friendly. It was a top notch experience in this regard. We arrived quite late but they had sandwiches made and sent to our room. Met us with nice warm teas too. We got caught in the rain and the staff met my partner and I with towels. Throughout the whole stay the staff were excellent. The resort itself is beautiful and quiet. It feels like a slight step away from the madness of Ubud which is fantastic. The rooms were clean and spacious. Really enjoyed the hotel, it's gym, pool and our free massage.

The only draw back was because of the construction it was a bit difficult getting in and out of the city centre. Nothing to do with the facilities itself but was a slight draw back.

Breakfast had huge amounts of choice, was delicious and perfectly presented. Never a long wait to be seen to and the refills of juice were appreciated. The room was immaculate and staff’s attention to detail was second to none. All were incredibly helpful, polite and friendly. By the end of the stay we felt like family. The room was clean, well kept and it was huge. The bath was also fabulous. The main pool was clean and a nice temperature, the private pool was much colder but it was quite nice on a hot day. The food choices were unreal. We really didn’t want to leave at the end of the stay and will be pining to come back for the rest of our days!

The charge for the honeymoon decoration was our only slight disgruntlement. Other hotels have done this complimentary. Taxis were much more expensive booked through the reception.

Overlooking the jungle, the view from the balcony was simply breathtaking. Ubud is a relatively cool area, so enjoying the balcony bathtub starting in the late afternoon was just perfect. The hot water supply was also completely fine. ​The breakfast venue was breezy and very pleasant, and the food was delicious. All the staff members were kind and helpful. Also, I didn't see any insects during my entire stay.

Mostly everything else for me it doesn’t seems like 5 star hotel the property needs a lot of maintenance like gym equipment. There are only one elevator in the hotel. To get a taxi either you order from them and the price is high or you have to go with their shuttle bus for the meeting point to get applications taxi The hallway to get to the room in 5th floor is dangerous and uncomfortable especially in the night .

I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and kastara would Definetely be one of my favourites. The staff were all exceptional, the room beautiful with a wonderful view of the valley. Extra large comfortable bed. We ate every meal in the restaurant and all were delicious and wonderfully presented. This will always be my perfect pick for Bali, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

restaurant food, not all> i already complained about the Vongole meal that has 4 vongole and butterfish???? ...shoking:(, the croissants didnt taste great and very poor selection of bread. another thing was the solo yoga class request, when they told me that i have to pay for 2. this is bad bad marketing and service. just have a price for solo class....the fact that you told me that i have to pay for 2 people for a solo class..i didnt take any. Gym also...could be better in terms of equipement...and also more daily yoga class should be available. the gift shop need to be re evaluated....bad selection of items ...

Excellent stay away from the chaos of Ubud. I loved the attention to detail from the staff - little things really do matter. Delicious breakfasts, great room service, beautiful room with a “jungle” view. Overall a wholesome stay, I would definitely come back.

We had a great stay. The staff were friendly and professional, and the service was excellent. The hotel has a beautiful location, with a stunning valley view from the room. The spa and massage are definitely worth trying and well worth the price. The food has improved noticeably since our last visit, with a good variety of delicious options.

Nothing I disliked, but keep in mind that ride-hailing and delivery apps cannot enter the hotel area, so you may have to walk a short distance, even with luggage.

A little pricey room amenities like water

The staff was absolutely amazing! Everyone was so kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. A special thank you to the whole team for their wonderful hospitality. ❤️

The main downside was the transportation arrangement. The Grab pick-up point is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and the taxis offered by the hotel at the entrance were the only available option there and were quite expensive. It would be more convenient if guests could have easier and more affordable transportation options.

The architecture and design of this hotel is beautiful and pretty faultless. It felt topic class - the design is traditional yet modern and was our favourite thing about our stay - beautiful views.

Unfortunately the food did not even nearly hit the mark for a 5 star resort. The juice did not appear to be fresh. We had the set 7 course menu with tasting one night and the first course - crab and second chicken wings tasted the exact same as all you could taste was a thick deep friend batter. The wine pairings were not always served with the dishes. Service around the pool area was also lacking for the first day or 2, despite about 6 staff all huddled together near the bar. It significantly improved the last day as I think another guest complained about it. The staff were lovely it just seems poor management and more 4 star service.

My husband and I stayed in Indonesia for 2 weeks and stayed in 3 different hotels. This hotel was by far the absolute best out of them all. What stood out to us was how amazing the staff and service was. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, truly amazing service. My husband hurt his foot during a tour and the staff often asked how his foot was recovering and sent ice to the room on several occasions. They also decorated our room for our anniversary which was such a beautiful surprise to walk into upon checking in. Also the cleanliness of the hotel was top tier. Our room was always cleaned very well. We will definitely we coming back the next time we visit Bali.

We would return anytime. The pictures don’t even do justice to the beauty of this place. Their staff is attentive and helpful with tours, transport and especially kind and caring about guesses experience here. The hotel restaurant is excellent and not overpriced, available for all three meals if you don’t feel like going out. What an experience with the flowers in the bathtub! Everything is great about our stay, Suksma!

Can be a bit noisy sometimes with neighbouring rooms door slamming. Some Grabs aren’t able to come pick us up but the hotel provides a shuttle to take us out of the ‘local protected zone’.

The breakfast was alcarte freshly cooked. Plentiful and really delicious. We also had boxed breakfast one day as we had to leave at 4am and they catered for this. The room was clean and the beds were so comfortable. We had a private pool but unfortunately we couldn’t use as the water was pretty cold. There was a nice cool breeze and their sun-kissed pool bar provided really refreshing drinks and poolside bites. After a long day, we enjoyed sitting there and cooling down before heading to our rooms. Dinner at the Belantara restaurant was so amazing. We tried different dishes on each of the 2 days we stayed there and it was amazing. We also saw the Balinese cultural dance on one of the nights. The staff were very friendly and always there to help you.

The location is bit isolated and nothing much around there. The Ubud central is bit far, and the taxi bit hesitant to come there because of the roadwork. As soon as you enter the room there was this smell but went away after a while. Otherwise an excellent place

I honestly never write reviews on Booking.com, but this hotel absolutely deserves one. I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but Kastara truly stood out and exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was simply exceptional. The hotel itself is beautiful, incredibly clean and very well maintained. Our room was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed. The entire property is taken care of with so much attention to detail, and you can really feel the quality everywhere. The food was absolutely amazing as well. Everything we tried was fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared. We ate at the hotel several times because we genuinely enjoyed it so much. But what made our stay truly unforgettable was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, professional and attentive. The service was always fast, nothing was ever too much to ask, and we always felt genuinely cared for. You can tell that the people working here really want their guests to have the best possible experience. The level of hospitality, cleanliness, service, food quality and attention to detail was honestly outstanding. There was not a single thing we could complain about. Everything just worked perfectly. I rarely leave a hotel thinking “wow”, but Kastara was exactly that. Out of all the hotels I have stayed in, this is definitely one of the places that impressed me the most. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special. You made us feel incredibly welcome and gave us such wonderful memories. We would come back without hesitation and recommend Kastara 100%. Absolutely 10/10. ❤️

We liked everything, location , restaurant, staff ,hotel decor, room design and a pool with a view of the valley wow wow woooow!!!! The online pics dont do the resort justice especially the rooms , we were absolutely wowed by the aesthetic. BONUS No monkeys added to the relaxed feel. A special shout out and thank you to Widya at reception for her customer service and assistance in planning our time in Ubud., she was a wealth of knowledge.

We had a unfortunate fall on the balcony bathtub as the floors are a polished concrete which makes them extremely slippery , Management quickly addressed the concern and how it was being actioned to change the surface to more grippy.safer tile surface.

Pazzesca, incredibile, vista sulla giungla e camera da sogno con vasca da bagno esterna . Ci è sembrato di essere in viaggio di nozze pur non essendo tale 😂massaggio bellissimo, cena buona al ristorante. Peccato essere stati solo una notte!

Ci siamo alzati alle 5 del mattino e ci hanno fornito la breakfast box. Il cibo era immangiabile 😂.

Le personnel était très professionnel. Accueillant, disponible,… La localisation sur les hauteurs plus fraîche d’Ubud. La taille et la disposition de l’hôtel. Très Facile. Tout est prêt sans se sentir coincé. Le sentier à pied vers et depuis le centre vaut déjà juste en soi le détour.

Ein sehr schönes, nicht zu großes Hotel (ca. 45 Zimmer). Mitten im Urwald, an einem Fluß - ganz tolle Aussicht. Die übertouristische Urlaubsort Ubud ist weit genug weg - ist aber über einen schönen Trail zu Fuß (2km) in ca. 30-40 min erreichbar. Optimal - dafür kein Taxi oder Roller nötig. Das Hotel bietet Zimmer mit kleiner Außenbadewanne an - einmalig!!! Mit Aussicht auf den Regenwald. Auch der Inifinity-Pool des Hotels ist optisch ein Highlight. Das Restaurant (auf jeden Fall das Frühstück!) und das SPA ist zu empfehlen. Auf jeden Fall die vom Hotel kostenlose angebotene Dorf-Tour mitmachen - sehr Informativ und wirklich local! Wer hier nach Netflix schreit macht was im Urlaub falsch!!!

Hatten leichte Probleme bei der Abholung vom Flughafen, wurde aber beim Ankommen dann super mehrfach kompensiert - also eigentlich nicht wirklich etwas negatives. Wer natürlich ein 5-Sterne-Hotel a la Dubai erwartet, muss wohl einen halben Stern abziehen. Aber ansonsten gibt‘s hier nichts zu bemängeln.

Kastara exceeded my expectations! The property is beautiful and the rooms were so clean! The bathtub on the balcony was relaxing and the view is stunning. The staff were fantastic and attentive, especially to my dietary constraints. It is in a village so gojek and food delivery isn't available but the restaurant suits most tastes and there are cute cafes, warungs and restaurants within walking distance. Loved it.
