Very pleasant ambience and nice aroma as we enter the hotel lobby. The hotel room was very clean, bright and refreshing with friendly frontline staff.

Access into the hotel lobby was somewhat confusing and had to turn back but besides that all good.

One of the best hotels in Malaysia. The management is doing a great job. The staff is so helpful and pleasure to communicate with. What we liked the most is the breakfast. It is obvious that the ingredients/products they use to prepare this wide variety of dishes aren't the cheap ones unlike many other hotels. The food here is just delicious.

Initially we didn't like the location as it is pretty far from Georgetown. But then we realized that this actual location has everything we need. There is a huge area adjacent to the hotel with its own entrance from the restaurant where you can have a wonderful walk. The bamboo garden is not that big, but you still can enjoy the garden and view while walking around.

We booked 2 rooms at Amari SPICE and unfortunately, the beds in both rooms were extremely soft. It felt like the mattresses had already gone past their usable lifespan, especially with the springs no longer providing proper support. After staying for 3 nights, I ended up having back pain, which really affected my overall experience and comfort during the stay. For a hotel of this standard, I expected much better mattress quality. I strongly suggest the management inspect and consider replacing these mattresses, as a good night's sleep is one of the most important things guests expect from a hotel.

Very pleasant & posh hotel

Enjoyable and comfortable. We arrived around 1am and we were greeted with a huge smile, checked in was easy and our room was clean, we also had some nutmeg candies in the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the interior design in the hotel was too notch. Breakfast buffet was endless with varieties of cuisines.

Far from shopping mall but convenient for visiting families living nearby.

Smooth and efficient check-in experience with a higher floor room and it was clean and nice smelling too. Inconsiderate room users slamming their hotel room doors shut was a nuisance and peace wrecker, otherwise everything's perfect. Thank you!!

Most part of my stay was great with the ever-friendly and helpful staff, nice room setup and shower facilities. Only my last night was marred by some inconsiderate idiots shouting and screaming in the middle of the night watching the World Cup. I can hear clearly a group of idiots congregating in a nearby room trying to wake the whole hotel up from 3am to 5am. Not sure if the hotel can do anything about it but this was really a bad start to another working day for the rest of us. The breakfast seemed to be not as great during my first stay about a year ago and some days most dishes on offer were spicy; the Indian cuisine, the Nasi Lemak that never failed to be served and then Tom Yum Souo noodles. Perhaps the hotel can take consideration that not all guests are inclined towards spicy food and offer some non-spicy ones. The egg station as usual has a long queue as the day passed but those were really delicious as it was made a la minute. Overall a rather satisfying stay other than the last night marred by some inconsiderate idiots.

We had an excellent stay at Amari SPICE Penang. The hotel is modern, clean, and beautifully designed. The staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous, and attentive, always greeting us with a smile and providing excellent service throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of delicious local and international dishes, and everything was fresh and well prepared. Overall, Amari SPICE Penang exceeded our expectations. The outstanding hospitality, comfortable accommodation, and excellent facilities made our stay truly memorable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Penang.

We absolutely loved our time here at Amari Spice! The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food and staff ( especially Cik B) in the executive lounge were fantastic! The pool and gym were used by us each day and we felt like we didn’t want to leave. We would absolutely recommend and return.

The hotel stay was pleasant and since we booked a room with a lounge access we were delighted to sample the snacks / finger food at the tiffin cafe. The staff at lounge Cik B and Annas were friendly and helpful. Thank you for making our short stay in Penang accommodating. Apart from the dining the location which is near the airport and the second Penang bridge made it very convenient.

I have been travelling to Penang every month for the past 3 years, every month I stay in Amari Spice Penang. The benefit of frequent customer is awesome. Most importantly, the team in the 25th floor executive floor is warmth, personalized, and professional. I would like to personally mention a few names here and their work attitude in no specific order: 1. Rahim Omar - is very detailed orientated, often provide very fine detail personalised touch to all of his services proactively. 2. Khairul - Friendly, proactive and great to chat with all the time. 3. Subashini - Take great initiative to give VIP trusted services that showed me lots of trust, whereas often, I have to remind there that I haven't paid for my stay. The level of trust she entrust me as the customer is very privileged. 4. Shamsuri - Somewhat quiet fellow, but very great at remembering little details of my personal preferences. Which is very welcoming and comfortable to be served by him. 5. Faziana - Great personality, friendly, and always show enthusiasm to providing prompt and good quality services. 6. Shakira - the chef, who is very quiet but most importantly, cook awesome food, and takes initiative to make varieties that invite a mouth watering pallet. She also always carry a pleasant and welcoming manner when I have any additional requests. 7. Even the cleaning staff (mostly non-Malaysian) are very warmth, supportive, and prompt to provide any assistance to me. They always carry a warmth and welcoming manner when being approach at all times. Overall, a Great experience.. The water in the shower area is not draining properly. By the time I finish showering, a significant amount of water has accumulated, making the area look like a pool. I have experienced this same issue during every stay at Amari, across different rooms.

Booked this hotel as it is next to the convention center where I was attending an event. Turned out to be an excellent choice - attentive staff, quality service, clean and spacious rooms, excellent F&B. Stayed 3 nights and having the staff remember our request for an upgrade to a suite was a pleasant surprise. The suite certainly did not disappoint in terms of size and in-room features. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at Amari Spice Penang and would like to commend several team members who made my experience memorable. A special thank you to the F&B team, especially the gentleman at the breakfast restaurant who remembered where we sat on our first morning and personally escorted us to the same table on the second day. It was such a small yet thoughtful detail that truly reflected excellent attention to guest preferences and service. I would also like to recognize the gentleman working at the bar area outside the breakfast restaurant. He was always friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating throughout our stay. The Housekeeping team did a great job as well, keeping the room clean and comfortable every day. My appreciation also goes to the Reservations team for carefully noting and fulfilling my requests before arrival. The Front Office check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I am grateful for the room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. The only area that could be improved was the check-out experience, which felt a bit cold and less engaging compared to the warm hospitality shown by the other departments. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would happily return to Amari Spice Penang in the future.

It's such an elegant hotel in Bayan Lepas. Although we didn't avail of any food-related services, we walked around the buffet area and found it really exceptional. The views and the overall feel is great.

Sorry if this may sound unfair as we only stayed in the area for a night. I'm not sure if this area is connected to great local shops, stores, and walking areas. I only base this on my checking of Google Maps. The hotel is a taxi-ride away to malls, for example. Not a big fan of the in-room nutmeg candy, you might want to give us alternatives :P

1. the room is comfy, with spare pillow already available inside the room. and more importantly its clean and tidy. 2. i like the parking system very much. no hassle to enter/exit multiple times in a day. 3. the staff is very friendly too

1. we booked 3 rooms but two rooms were not ready when we checked in at 3pm. we had to call a couple of times to get some updates. we had to look for and supervise the housekeeper ourselves to ensure our rooms are prioritised to be cleaned and make ready. we only managed to get into these two rooms about 2 hours later. 2. there wasn't any written instruction on how to operate the coffee machine. at least this can be in the form of QR code.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the first impression was very positive. The property is beautiful, well-presented, and the staff were welcoming. Check-in was smooth and efficient with no issues at all. The room itself was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable—exactly what you would expect from a hotel at this level. Unfortunately, this is where things began to go wrong. That evening, I discovered there was no hot water. I contacted the front desk, and to their credit, they responded quickly and sent an engineer within a short time. I was told the issue had been resolved after about 30 minutes. However, the next morning, the hot water was once again not working. When I called down, I was informed that no engineer was available at that time. I was then offered a room change, despite the fact that I was checking out within four hours—so it wasn’t a practical solution. As a result, I had to take another cold shower. To make matters worse, while I was in the shower, the engineer arrived and repeatedly knocked on my door, despite me having already declined further assistance. Shortly after, my room phone also began ringing. It was frustrating to be interrupted while dealing with an issue that should have been properly resolved the night before. The front desk staff clearly tried to help and were polite throughout, but the failure ultimately came down to the engineering side not fixing the problem correctly the first time. At this price point and standard of hotel, when something like this happens, you would expect some form of goodwill gesture. Unfortunately, nothing was offered—no discount, no late checkout, not even something simple like a complimentary airport transfer. Just an apology. Overall, while the hotel has strong positives in terms of appearance and service attitude, the lack of follow-through on a basic necessity like hot water—and the absence of any meaningful compensation—was very disappointing.
