The room was very clran but a little dated. Overall a good stay
Yes
A little dated but very clean and comfortable. I would stay here again. Staff Very friendly and anxious to please. Quiet and cozy place
It was a very cute motel, very clean. You could tell that management tried to make it very attractive. There were little yellow flowers in the window boxes, 2 pairs of slippers for guests and eyelet bed skirts. The sheets were smooth and looked pressed. My only slight disappointment was, there were not enough plug outlets for charging devices for 2 people. Overall a nice stay!
It had all basic motel facilities, rooms were clean. Only fault found uncomfortable beds
I booked the Coach House Motel for 1 night and ended up staying longer. The owners are super friendly, the rooms spotless and the beds extremely comfortable. The location is quiet and convenient to everything I wanted to do and see. I plan to return next year.
Very nice and clean room
The room and bathroom was clean and comfy
All good
Easy check in and "just leave the key". Very clean.
The owner greeted us warmly. This motel is a true gem. It is a fresh and lovely property. Our room is so clean and welcoming. It is immaculately clean. There is not a mark on the walls or a speck of dirt anywhere. It is a pleasure to stay here.
We just stayed an overnight driving a uhaul from Manitoba to southern Ontario. Property was beautiful, the hostess was kind, prompt and accommodating. She even recommended a quick walk to a beach nearby. Beds were relatively comfortable, accommodations were very clean, and the room was nice and quiet. Overall would recommend this as a stop along your way travelling the shield. Well worth it 👍.
Cute little motel. Very clean and quiet. Rooms are spacious and the sheets smell like fresh air!
Take out orange shag and throw down laminate. Clean, very dated
Easy to park, quiet and comfortable
Very clean. Very comfortable. Well maintained. Decorating was impeccable. Will return for sure!!!
Great motel on a very well maintained property and the host is very friendly.
Room was recently renovated, clean, large, comfortable.
Very nice motel, clean and nicely kept owner attentive and friendly. Would stay here again!
Probably the cleanest hotel on our journey across Canada.
No food close by,but they made us aware before arrival. No AC, but cool enough to open windows.
Very nice and clean place to stay owners very friendly
Property is outdated but the cleanliness is excellent! Staff is very helpful and nice upon check in. The perfect stop for a night of rest.
Very clean and cozy. The staff member was also friendly and provided an easy check in/out.
One of the best stays on our 2 week trip
I couldn’t breathe with the strong smell of moth balls. I didn’t feel safe.
Same excellent experience as last week Very clean room, great shower, lots of hot water and water pressure, comfy bed Perfect when you need to crash for the night Get there after driving all day, get key is less than a minute Park in front of your room Grab a quick shower Collapse into bed, Wake up early next morning And continue your drive Fantastic value for that type of stay
Stopped in on our trip back from Manitoba. The lady at the counter was super nice and got us checked in right away. Room was clean. Was good for just a motel. Would stay again.
The rooms are awesome and great service
Probably the cleanest place that we’ve ever stayed at and we travel all the time. Bathroom was exceptionally clean. Would stay again:)
Nice place. Right by the lake.
Amazing
This motel is north of Lake Superior off of 17, and near a town with restaurants - room was very nice, beds were better than most, but no AC!
Easy parking, wifi
We only stayed for the night. The room was very clean and spacious.
Pristine interior. Will need to bring a meal ( take out available from town 20 minutes away) lovely reception. On motorcycle and they provided assistance for kick stand and rags to clean the bike.
This place was like if you went camping It was clean and had the necessary stuff. No food unfortunately but we were told ahead of time. Great place to stop on your journey. Nice walk to water.
Rooms were clean, staff was accommodating. Great place to crash for a night when you're tired ot driving
Great overnight stay while on the road. Basic but clean and beds were in good shspe
Set back from highway away from nearest town. Peaceful. Walk to lake. No A/C but nice breeze blowing thru room. Very enjoyable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Great staff but the building is extremely old and smells of moth balls. Gross shag carpet from the 70’s, bathroom updated. Beds old and springs poked me all night. Overpriced for what it is.
Impeccably clean and well-maintained, the on-site owners stay on top of things here and it shows. Location was convenient enough for a full day of hikes at Terrace Bay, Aguasabin and Rainbow Falls and Ney’s Provincial Park.
Nice north of Superior option for a 1 night layover as you drive the TransCanada.
There was evident pride in the care for the Motel and property.
On my road trip across Canada from Lake Superior to Montreal I have tried to stay in mostly small family-run motels. The Coach House Morel was one of the best. Run by a wonderful family, with a cute precocious pre-schooler to welcome you, it was truly a delight. Nothing fancy, your basis roadside motel, but very clean and well-maintained. You can tell they care about their property. It was a nice quiet oasis on my journey, a place I would happily stay at again.
Convenient along highway, but also some road noise, although low traffic. Dated but very well maintained. Comfortable. All i needed for my 1 night stop. Very friendly owner.
Super cute inn. Very well maintained, clean, smelt fresh. The property was gorgeous, directly across from a lake. Exactly as shown in photos. Very clean, very kind service. Mini fridge was in room, tv, good water pressure in the shower. Wifi was great, parking was easy. Was quiet. Stayed for one night on trip across Canada, would totally stay here again.
It's a nice place for night sleep. Everything is good and clean. Car parking is in front of the room.
Coach House Motel is located just outside of Terrace Bay. The owners, Judy and Eli, are wonderful hosts, and the rooms are exceptionally clean. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Comfortable and very clean as usual
Very clean and quiet.
Woods and forest that surrounded area.
The locatiuon was so pristine and peaceful, and yet convenient to the Trans Canada Highway. The owner and his family were great. It was a great value for the money.
Area is remote with few services. Our hosts contacted us in advance so we could get food or other necessities before arrival. They were both very friendly and welcoming.
It was very good. Very very clean Had items to assist with cleaning my motorcycle and small pieces of wood for the kickstands. Very nice owners
Great location on the Superior circle
Very quiet area, clean , good bed Simple place but good stay for one night
The property is basic, but, it is clean, comfortable. The folks who run it are kind and welcoming. They even had a piece of wood to put under the side stand of my motorcycle. Sometimes less is more, and this is one of those times. Food and drink can be had in Terrace Bay 13 minutes away.
A great traditional style roadside motel. Nice to park right at the door. Clean room with the usual 3 star amenities and not fancy but very comfortable.
Wiĺl stay again
A clean comfortable place to stay. The host was friendly and very helpful. A lovely stop along the way.
We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable the room was. Best sleep we had in a while.
I booked this motel based on the rating. Not sure who could possibly rate it a 9.1?
Coach House was a nice motel to find just 15 minutes east of Terrace Bay. Owners were kind and friendly. We drove into town to eat at the recommended "Drifters restaurant" next to the lookout tower.
Very good and friendly service. Brought us ice and extra towels when we asked. It’s on the highway but we couldn’t hear any road noise.
Very nice
It was very good place to stay for sleep. Very satisfied
Very friendly owners. Very clean rooms and great value.
The room was very nice and clean. The customer service were very friendly
Room was very clean and owners really friendly and nice! Disappointed with no air conditioning and no electric plugs in bathroom. Had to dry my hair in the entry way next to mini fridge with microwave on top. Awkward.
Overall, a lovely experience, acquaint roadside hotel with friendly staff and clean when well-maintained if dated decor
Read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. Very satisfied with cleanliness and freshness of room, as well as kind owner.
Lovely place to stay, has everything you need. The owners are super nice and very accommodating.
Very clean and friendly staff. Missing a bathroom electrical outlet. Nearest restaurants or shopping 20 km. Nice setting.
Room was clean and quiet. Staff was friendly. Fan/AC was not working in room
What a hidden (in plain sight) gem of a motel! We've always been reluctant to stay at roadside motels, but The Coach House Motel is not your regular roadside motel. The owners have taken great care of this place. My first impression of it was that it was a bit dated (orange carpets, 1970s bedspreads), but that is easily overlooked because the rooms are so clean. I have rarely ever stayed in such a clean and well-cared for place. Although there is no air conditioning, the windows were wide open when we arrived and there was a nice breeze flowing through out room. Everything sparkled in the room, it was that clean -- even the window casings were dirt free! There wasn't a speck of dirt anywhere. The carpets were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We slept well. The yard is very well kept and we appreciated the owners sharing with us that there is a quiet lake just 200m away. We happily spent a few hours exploring the lake (which we had all to ourselves). There is no restaurant or shops nearby as it's 20 km outside of Terrance Bay, so it's best if you stop to eat first, or bring your own food. The room has a fridge (which was turned on and cold upon our arrival), a microwave, and a coffee maker. If you are looking for a well taken care of motel just outside of Terrace Bay, then look no further! This is a gem of a place and we will be back to stay when we travel on the TransCanada again.
Extremely clean and great staff. Only issue was the road noise was somewhat of an issue. But not terrible Lovely well cared for grounds.
Not the latest infrastructure but that didn't matter because everything was very well maintained. It was very clean and was the perfect place to relax after a long day's drive. The staff were very friendly and available 24 hours. I will definitely stay here again!
This is the second time we have stayed here and it was great. Check in was quick and friendly and the room was perfect for a night stay over to rest from driving.
The proprietors were just lovely & iso accommodating. Immaculate & good experience.
This place was perfect for our one night stay on our way home. Super clean, a tipical old fashion motel very well maintained. The owner was very nice at the check in. I will stay here again. I recommend this place without doubt…
Lovely spot and lovely staff. Very clean rooms. We would stay again!
Lovely people. Cute motel, very clean. Everything fresh and recently remodeled.
Old school motel with old school charm and hospitality
well maintained, nice people.
So clean
Was greeted nicely. Everything was ready and they even brought ice to our room when we asked about it. Nice, clean and quiet stop along the Lake Superior Circle Tour!
Like other reviewers, what stood out was the friendliness of the owners and cleanliness of the rooms. There is obvious pride taken in maintaining the property (esp compared to other places in the area). It was a great stay and the surrounding area is spectacular! Grab any food/drinks in Terrace Bay or Marathon because there are no restaurants etc nearby, but there is a minibar fridge to store your food and a coffee maker to make mornings easier.
The property and room was clean staff were kind when we checked in. Room was so so damp everything felt wet. Wouldn’t go back for that reason.
In an area n a busy route
This motel is very outdated but our room was spotless. Amenities were bare bones - shampoo only & one towel per person. There is nothing nearby for miles. The staff was kind enough to send a message letting us know there are no restaurants close by. I would stay here again.
Very clean, comfortable beds. Fridgewas a good size. Pretty landscape.
Like the properry lanscaping. Easy parking. Beds were only double. Poor internet.
Had bugs in the rooms no ac no fan no fan in washroom
great
Nice older hotel, owner was very friendly, room was clean, beds good and good size bathroom. No nearby restaurants and decor is dated.
This is a classic roadside motel that's kept all the retro touches and has been lovingly kept in great shape. Think "Schitt's Creek", but with a British flare. The rooms are clean, everything works great, the staff is very friendly, and the gardens are beautiful. The only reason I went with 4 stars is that the mattresses are very stiff which was hard on my back, but if you like a firm mattress you'll be fine. Bonus: get a picture the old Bell telephone box!
Only stay one night. Too many flys
Wonderful place super clean exceptional unique and quaint. Very friendly and helpful. A
It is a great motel to make a stop when traveling the beautiful Hwy 17 in Ontario, north of Lake Superior. Quiet, comfortable, reasonably priced. Very nice experience.
