Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Très bon emplacement sur le champ de bataille de Waterloo, mais c'est le seul point partagé avec la pension U Kostela à Ujezd u Brna ,proche d'Austerlitz où ,coincidence,nous étions quelques jours plus tôt. Les autres ponts positifs de notre séjour sont à porter au crédit du Memorial Waterloo 1815 .Pour un droit d'entrée raisonnable de 44 euros pour deux personnes,le très beau musée ,le Panorama(un peu décevant)la butte du Lion et ses animations,la navette gratuite pour la ferme d'Hougoumont; site très évocateur de la bataille avec en point d'orgue un récit audiovisuel presque poétique. Coupé d'un bon repas au Wellington-des brochettes succulentes-,la visite vous occupe agréablement et utilement votre journée. A l'instar des pontonniers du Général Eblé lors du passage de la Bérézina, le Mémorial a sauvé notre campagne de Russie à Waterloo. Rien que pour cela nos voisins belges méritent la Légion d'honneur !
Waterloo morne plaine,Hôtel 1815 ,morne séjour. Prélèvement instantané du prix de la prestation; rien de réprehensible .Contacté, sur Whatsapp,sur l'heure d'arrivée,la réponse de l'hôtelier contenait une question sur le petit déjeuner. Ayant marqué mon intérêt, à 16h59 ,réponse de l'hôtelier dès 17h11 et prélèvement sans autorisation du montant . La communication de données bancaires, sur booking, pouvait mener à des retraits ,hors circuit ??? A l'arrivée, réception sans grand apparat , encore une question sur le petit déjeuner du surlendemain, et mention d'une amende pour "fumage " dans la chambre et une ponction de 20 euros pour checkout tardif (quelle durée, dans quelles conditions, mystère. Cela m'a rappelé le préfet de discipline à mon arrivée à l'internat. Les chambres portent des noms fleurant l'histoire :Reille,Blucher,Wellington etc... Nous eûmes droit à Lobau?? A pédant, pédant et demi ,aucune bataille ne porte le nom de Lobau,mais celui d'Essling, ni aucun général d'ailleurs, le comte de Lobau s'appelait "Mouton". Mais cela est sans importance, notre chambre aurait mérité le nom de Leipzig ou Trafalgar. D'aspect correct et propre,elle a la particularité de n'avoir comme ouvertures que deux rectangles de 40cm et 70cm comme des sabords de bateau mais donnant sur le ciel et deux hublots de 30 cm de diamètre, verrouillés,enchassés dans le mur.Donc Trafalgar. La chambre était donc sans vue ,comme sous entendu dans le descriptif ,mais pas visibles sur les photos Pour l'équipement quatre cintres ne vous incitent pas à de défaire vos bagages, un seul fauteuil pour deux ,de petites planchettes collées sous la lampe comme chevets et des couettes lourdes comme des ânes morts très utiles en saison et en période de canicule.

After the superb evening meal, breakfast was adequate but average. No air con which would have been preferable but we had a fan instead

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026Ja, die Unterkunft liegt Zentral zum ehem. Schlachtfeld, so dass man fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten dort fußläufig besichtigen kann. Mit dem PKW ist man schnell in Waterloo. Das Zimmer war sauber, das Personal freundlich. Das Restaurant das zum Hotel gehört ist zu empfehlen. Von der Terrasse hat man einen schönen Ausblick auf das ehem. Schlachtfeld.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Location to visit Waterloo battlefield and memorial / museum cannot be beaten. The views from the bedroom windows overlooking the battlefield were superb. Reception was very friendly and helpful after a long drive from England. I have only scored down on the basis that the attic room was very hot but we completely understand that our stay was at a time of unprecedented heatwave in Europe and that the building's age restricts what can be done. The use of a fan in the room was very thoughtful. We also appreciated the information in relation to the various Generals / Marshalls that the rooms were named after. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay here again.
As above, the only issue for us was the heat during the night but we appreciate that there was very little that could be done in the circumstances.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026Locatie, rustig, landelijk gelegen en op loopafstand van het Waterloo museum en voormalig slagveld. Verder pre dat in de kamer een ventilator stond, hielp enorm met de warmte en goede bedden.
De geuren van het steakhouse restaurant ruik je door het gehele hotel. En in de ochtend is datzelfde restaurant de ontbijtzaal.

Mye trapper som ikke var nevnt i beskrivelsen. Vi hadde rom med skråtak og kun små vinduer i taket, dårlig med rømningsveier. Ikke dobbeltsenger noe som jeg ikke klarte å lese ut fra beskrivelsen. Dette svarte ikke helt til forventningene ut fra hva vi så på bildene da vi bestilte, eller forventningene vi fikk da vi fikk hyggelig melding før vi kom frem om at vi var veldig velkommen. Det var kun reholdspersonell da vi kom frem kl.15.

Onze kamer was bijzonder vies. Er was niet gestofzuigd en onder de bedden lag een enorme laag stof, pennen, aanstekers, etc. We durfden niet op blote voeten te lopen. Het leek net alsof we in een afgedankte personeelsruimte sliepen die ze op het laatste moment snel hadden omgetoverd tot extra hotelkamer.

W pokojach nie ma nic ponad standard. Temperatura w pokoju wynosiła ponad 40 stopni, a do ochłody tylko dwa małe ledwo działające wiatraczki. Musieliśmy w nocy wstawać się oblewać zimną wodą. Internet w pokoju praktycznie nie działał. Na początku obsługa była miła i byliśmy bardzo zadowoleni. W trzeci dzień czuliśmy się już niechciani. W opisie hotelu widnieje „hotelowy taras stanowi doskonałe miejsce na relaks przy ulubionym drinku” niestety w praktyce jest inaczej. Ze względu na wysokie temperatury w pokojach stwierdziliśmy że posiedzimy na dole i się napijemy czegoś zimnego. Po zamówieniu piwa i napoju obsługa była zdziwiona, że nie będziemy jeść. Nawet nie skończyliśmy pić, a przed nami postawiono terminal. Nie zapytano, czy coś jeszcze podać po prostu poczuliśmy się niechciani. Restauracja w tamtym czasie była praktycznie pusta, tym bardziej nie rozumieliśmy dlaczego tak postąpiono.

Vanaf circa 18.00 uur geen tv-verbinding meer. Dit gemeld, maar volgende dag weer hetzelfde probleem. Geen yoghurt bij ontbijt, alleen ingrediënten om in yoghurt te doen waren aanwezig.

Reviewed Jul 9, 2026Dichterbij het Slagveld van Waterloo kan niet. Op 2 minuten van het museum. Ik stond om 5 uur op om bij opgaande zon over het slagveld te wandelen. Dit verblijf is de perfecte plek om dat te doen. Het bed is goed en de kamer is schoon. Het verblijf kan wel een upgrade gebruiken, maar een betere ligging voor als je van historie houdt, is er niet.

The room was very hot and had an unpleasant smell. The bathroom was very dated, even though the room itself had had a very smart makeover. The shower curtain was very cheap but at least the shower pressure was good. The breakfast quality and variety was average, especially for €18, and they had no gluten free bread or cereal options. We didn’t ask about those in advance but this is not an uncommon request. Staff friendly and did what they could.

Reviewed Jul 3, 2026Fantastyczna lokalizacja koło historycznego Lwiego Wzgórza, Pola bitwy i muzeum panorama. Personel sympatyczny i bardzo pomocny. Na dole świetna restauracja z pysznymi stekami i piwem.
Brak klimatyzacji w bardzo upalne dni. Nie polecam rodzinom z małymi dziećmi i starszym osobom nieodpornym na upały. Nie byliśmy w stanie spać mimo otwartych okien, rano wszystkich bolały głowy. Śniadanie było dość ubogie w stosunku do ceny.

Employés qui parlent entre eux en bas de la chambre après le service à 23h00-30. Petit déjeuner un peu cher (17.90€) et quelques manquements à mon gout (yaourts, compotes, fromage blanc?) Reviewed May 18, 2026It was ideally located for the main purpose of our visit, namely to view the site of the battle of Waterloo. It's a good place to stay. It's not a luxury hotel, but it does not promote itself as such. But, it "does what it says on the tin"!

Reviewed May 13, 2026This was the ideal base for walking to - and around - the battlefield and its sites. Our room was very comfortable; the bathroom had a proper (steel) bath. We didn’t dine in the hotel (there were no vegetarian options), but there was an Italian restaurant next door and a general bistro a 15-minute walk away. Breakfast was okay (albeit pricy) … but so noisy (see below). Plenty of parking and a good-sized garden in which to walk the dog.
It was my misfortunate to have breakfast at the same time as some filming was taking place. It was a constant cavalcade of people walking back and forth, a bright light being shone and a cameraman bumping into my table. I appreciate that this would not be the norm!

Parking facile et pratique, ce qui est toujours un vrai plus dans la région Chambre conviviale, bien pensée, avec une touche originale : chacune porte le nom de personnages historiques Personnel accueillant, professionnel et attentif Côté restauration, excellente surprise avec le restaurant Grill de l’Empereur : 👉 viandes au feu de bois parfaitement maîtrisées, savoureuses et généreuses Une adresse chaleureuse, sans prétention mais avec beaucoup de charme. Je recommande vivement et j’y retournerai avec plaisir.
