Reviewed Sep 11, 2026The hotel is beautifully decorated, everything is clean, tidy, and modern, and the rooms are spacious.
None of the staff could help or answer questions regarding electric vehicle charging—such as the procedure or which app to use if you don't have an RFID card. I believe you need to provide instructions and an explanation on how to use the charging stations for guests arriving in electric cars.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026Geweldige wellness op de 16e etage met prachtig uitzicht. Hele mooie en schone kamers, super bedden. Lekker eten. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Zelfs een dyson föhn op de badkamer.
Dat er kinderen waren in de wellness vond ik jammer.

Reviewed Jul 10, 2026Zeer teleurstellende ervaring bij Van der Valk Schiedam. Ik verbleef hier van 13 juni tot 2 juli en betaalde ruim €5.292,86. Helaas was de kamer bij aankomst al slecht schoongemaakt: stof, een vieze kamer en onvoldoende hygiëne. Ondanks meerdere meldingen werd het probleem niet serieus opgelost en werden beloftes om terug te bellen niet nagekomen. Als dieptepunt heb ik zelfs een muis in de eetzaal gezien. Ook hiervan heb ik foto’s en video’s. Nog teleurstellender dan de slechte hygiëne was de manier waarop mijn klachten zijn afgehandeld. Ik voelde mij totaal niet serieus genomen en er werd vooral geprobeerd de situatie goed te praten in plaats van deze op te lossen. Voor een hotel als Van der Valk en voor dit bedrag had ik veel meer verwacht. Helaas kan ik dit hotel niet aanbevelen.

The cost of room service is ridiculous, they should warn customers about it, went down to order some food because the phone was not being asnwer, I bought food worth just 15 euros and they slapped on 25 euros room service because I could not wait and it was brought to my room. I have never paid so much in any hotel but maybe its a Rotterdam thing, im not sure. The staff should have mentioned it because I would have waited for my food instead.

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026La piscine et le spa au dernier étage sont très sympa! Le restaurant était correct (plutôt bon par rapport aux Vandervalk d’Arlin et de Verviers). La chambre était très grande. Le design de la salle de bain très beau (mais pas très pratique).
La réceptionniste n’avait pas l’air d’avoir envie d’être là 😜! Dans les détails: le lit était un peu mou à notre goût et le miroir de la salle de bain pas fait pour pouvoir se préparer.

The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The location was convenient, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants. Ik had eerder gevraagd om een late check out te regelen om 14uur en tot op de dag zelf werd het niet geregeld en moest zondag om 7 uur vroeg weten of het wel lukte of niet en uiteindelijk lukte het niet en hebben wij ons moeten haasten om om 12 uit te checken terwijl wij om 14 uur wilde uit-checken

Reviewed Apr 28, 2026The service in the dining room which was booked for the Thursday evening. Had ro wait at least an hour before main course. The fries came 10 minutes after that. The asparagus special was stringy. My cousin who had booked complained. We were offered complimentary coffee and the meal cost taken off. When we received the bill it was still included on the bill. I was going to complain but my cousin didn't want to make a fuss. She should have. I bought a coffee earlier in the week. I gave him 10euros he brought back 3 euros 75. I pointed out the mistake. I hope it was a genuine mistake.

Alleen vertraag de room service men vergeet helemaal dat je besteld had en als je na de receptie bel dan pas komt men gelijk met je bestelling na de kamer dat is mij overkomen. Maar is een top van hotel ik kom zeker weer terug goed uitzicht heel mooi om te beleven.👌🏾
Room service graag verbetering aanbrengen bij bestellingen, men vergeet totaal om het te brengen en moet je na 45 min wachten voor een wijn bestelling bellen na de receptie om het daarna gelijk te krijgen

Die Minibar ist leer, es gibt keine Getränke auf dem Zimmer, nicht mal ein kostenloses Wasser. Ich war in Europa in vielen luxuriösen Unterkünften, das ist eigentlich Standard, mindestens eine Flasche Wasser. Man musste alles unten in der Lobby an einem Automaten kaufen, als ob man in einem Bahnhof wäre.
