Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The attention to detail was amazing and had everything you need and more! Perfect central location .

Location ,although right in town ,it was nice and quiet. Tastefully decorated. Real milk in the fridge! Warm rooms.

The renovated Vicarage is utterly beautiful, and so quiet! Right on the main street, the Vicarage is easy to find, and easy to come and go from. Parking is at the front door and lots of shops, walks and cafes within a short distance. There’s a kitchenette and laundry (laundry 1-6pm) which made our stay very easy. Staff were very discreet, (not always on site) and very friendly and helpful. Having a shared sitting room was a lovely way to be able to ‘spread out’ a bit more than just feeling contained to our (generously sized) room. The Linden Leaves toiletries were so lovely. For people who struggle with “air fresheners”, this place is beautifully clean without being overly perfumed. Just lovely.

The bed has developed quite a personality - because of the “one-way” design, the mattresses can’t be fully turned to maintain their structure. This meant that the outer edge is always the outer edge, and due to visitors constantly sitting on the edges, the bed had developed a slope away from a central lumpy hillock. Not our favourite bed in Aotearoa.

The decor was beautiful and right in the Heart of town. I was a little concerned as it’s not far from the road but didn’t hear a thing. we were in a room at the front of the house downstairs. We really loved the little night cap Touch of the local gin. Very good recommendations for food and things to do.

Easy parking at the front of the house and great food options within walking distance - especially Barkers (superb breakfast and a range of chutneys and jams to taste/buy).

Charming room and facilities. My husband could sit in the shared living spaces if he wanted needed to. Although we didn’t use the laundry it could be useful to other guests. Very well thought through.

I have been stayed many 5 star hotels, this one is much better thank many of them, very clean and neat, high quality remodel with everything we need for the stay, bed is very comfortable, house keeper lady was supper friendly, highly recommend this place!

Its the little things which matter - the vicarage looks after the little things, like lounge with coffee, gin, port and games to play. The attention to detail in this place is fantastic. We only wished we would have stayed longer.

Lovely old renovated house that has been beautifully decorated . Very comfortable and well located.

Both floors had a cosy sitting room with extra kitchen facilities along with samples of local gins and ports to enjoy. The room itself was exceptionally appointed, cosy and comfortable.

Great location, and being right next to the Barkers café and in town made it easy to go out for meals.

The room was great, nice and spacious including the bed but the only thing was that the mattress had some small lumps that you could feel while laying down which just made it a bit uncomfortable

In the center of the lovely village of Geraldine, we had the privilege of staying in the Vicarage: only 7 rooms. Most interesting history. Our room was a sheer pleasure: beautifully finished, great bed and bed linen, great bathroom. Nespresso machine

being woken up at 6.30 am by a sewage truck outside our window that ran for 30 minutes with sound like a 747 taking off. i know people have jobs to do but 6.30 is taking the p***

We absolutely loved The Vicarage & reading about the restoration of it. It’s right in the centre of Geraldine so not far to walk to anything. Everything has been designed with the guests in mind & we love the guest sitting rooms (one on each floor) & that there was a laundry available to the guests if needed. We felt especially at home as room 6 has been decorated very similar to our bedroom at home, even the bedding is similar. Sadly we only stayed one night but this accommodation has been better than any other we’ve stayed in whilst touring around the South Island. Would highly recommend, you won’t be sorry.

The location was very convenient along our way back to Christchurch. This historic building was the nicest accommodation during our whole trip. 🥰 The check in information was easy to follow and we loved our room #4, it was fantastic. Everything was nicely decorated, with a mini fridge that had some yoghurt, fresh milk and a Nespresso coffee maker with capsules was provided. We got some items in the bakery across the street and had a wonderful breakfast in the lounge area. There is one upstairs and one downstairs. The bed was very comfortable and everything was exceptional clean. We received a card for a free fruit preserve from the bakery in the back of the building. We will remember this cute hotel when we get back home and have the preserve with our breakfast.

Fantastic historical property great rooms and attention to details , super clean first time we experience virtual checking in but worked well close to restaurant and great bakery next door for breakfast

Having breakfast and dinner at local places makes this a very good location to stay at.

Everything you needed was there for you. Exceptional quality in the room including liben, towels, just a luxurious stay. Easy check in. Located in the centre of Geraldine, which meant we could park up and walk everywhere which was perfect.

Very comfortable room and Barker’s right behind for breakfast and lunch.

Parking was challenging during the day because of visitors to Barker’s.

Despite being a busy season the breakfast was delivered promptly, beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were welcoming and nothing was a bother.

An old building that has been very carefully renovated to a boutique hotel. Everything was done very nicely. The town is small but nice, there is a baker opposite the hotel which serves breakfast from early in the morning. There is also a supermarket not far from the hotel.

Michael and Brigitte have created a beautiful place whilst being faithful to the heritage of this building. Small details in the shared spaces make the vicarage feel like a home from home. The room was beautiful, wonderfully well equipped and self checking was smooth.

My only regret is I was only staying by for one night.

It was a small town where I stopped by just to get some sleep, without any big expectations. I chose The Vicarage Geraldine after looking at the photos, but since I’ve often seen places that look different from their pictures, I didn’t expect too much. However, The Vicarage Geraldine turned out to be the most beautiful building in town. Parking was no issue at all, with a private space prepared right in front of the property, and the area was quiet and peaceful. The check-in was self-service, but everything went smoothly, and the moment I opened the door, I was genuinely impressed. It felt warm and cosy, and everything looked exactly like the photos. The cleanliness and the thoughtfully prepared amenities clearly showed the host’s attention to detail. Communication with the host was easy and they responded quickly. They also shared useful information about the town, which helped during my trip. I didn’t order the meals provided by the accommodation and instead ate at Barker’s Eatery right next door. The atmosphere was lovely and the food quality was excellent. You can also sample different jams and cordials there, and buy gifts. Due to my schedule, I could only stay one night, but because of the comfort and cleanliness of The Vicarage Geraldine, I would love to stay for a longer period next time. (Geraldine is a small town, but it has high-quality restaurants, two museums, and plenty to see. There is also a local market held every Friday.)

I have stayed here in the past . I have learned as to how the effort and care put into the restoration of this little piece of history has given a new lease of life both to the Vickerage and added another reason to come and stay a while in Geraldine. A truly epic experience. I am humbled.

Very nice location, only forty-five minute drive for us. As always, Geraldine is a very picturesque little town which oozes with an atmosphere of peacefulness and tranquility with lots of friendly local people, and just enough hustle and bustle to make the town really interesting. The Vicarage reflects this very well and is a superb retreat which is very well appointed,very comfortable,and very private. The decor is stunning and the room's are spotlessly clean. Congratulations to the owners, managers and working staff, your combined vision and efforts truly make The Vicarage the masterpiece that it is.
