Big, comfy room, great value, very central location.

Room 44: shower temperature a bit temperamental. No shelves in bathroom at all. Also, if you are over 5'8 and want to shave, good luck doing so in the mirror, which is low.

Location was ok - room small but comfortable. Nice shower, tv didn't have any extra stations, hairdryer provided, shampoo and conditioner in bathroom. Fan in room which was a nice touch.

I didn't opt for breakfast - £17 is just way too much for this type of accommodation. The lift is pretty slow. Someone's not always on reception but I get that.

This was a well appointed, comfortable hotel in a great location. I had a good sized room. All just what I needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

It would be nice to have a more competitively priced option for a light breakfast - £17.50 seems a lot when I don't want a full cooked breakfast.

Disappointed that the room had no bath only shower, no air conditioning nor did. The staff have a ice bucket when asked for drinks as no fridge Wasn’t the best stay I’ve had at the a best western

On a heatwave they opened all windows to let the heat in. Rooms were stifling.no fans or air conditioning. The lift mechanism sounded like someone playing the drums every time it was in use. External doors locked all the time because of the area it is in.

The hotel was secure and quiet. My room was very clean and spacious with extra beds. The bathroom was lovely with a huge powerful shower. There was plenty of tea and coffee and Biscoffs available. The staff on reception and in the breakfast room were friendly, helpful and efficient.

On arrival the doors were shut, so I had to use the buzzer to get in where there was a sign that reception was currently not manned, however a member of staff was there straight away to check me in. The hotel was very quiet, the lift took forever to get to the second floor. The rooms/hotel seems to have recently been redecorated so it was all very clean and fresh.

The bathroom drains seemed to push out quite a horrible smell. There was no aircon or fan in the room and the window (as standard hotels do) only opened slightly. Sadly at about 10pm the local homeless population seemed to have gathered outside the hotel, and so the night was spent listening to loud conversation, shouting/arguments and bottles smashing, I shut the window and could still hear them, and the room was incredibly warm with the lack of fresh air coming in.

There were no drawers to unpack into. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc in the shower. All the reading lights were on one switch, so inconvenient for one person wanting an earlier night. There was no one about. Breakfast was hugely expensive. £35 per day for two of us. We went to the nearby Wetherspoons instead at a fraction of the cost.

The property was located in the heart of the city, close to pubs and restaurants and shopping centre. The beds were very comfortable, however the curtains did not block out the windows completely.

The room was cold and there were no controls for the heating in the room. The shower leaked so bathroom was flooded after every shower. Soap was taken away and not replaced. The room was very noisy over the weekend which was to be expected being close the pubs and general nightlife.

The room itself was absolutely spotless, it was spacious and well presented.

The window in my room couldn’t close. I only found this out right before I went to sleep as I don’t mind Window being a little bit open during the day for air circulation at this point it was late so I didn’t want to call anybody but This allowed so much noise from the outside to come in. It was a particularly noisy night so I didn’t get much sleep. Are the details that could be improved all the pillows whilst on first inspection they looked plump and fluffy they had no structure to them and I had to fold them on themselves to get any support which isn’t the end of the world, however not expected from best western. In the bathroom, one of the towels was pretty frayed on the edges, there was no hand towel provided and the under waterproof seal from the glass shower screen has seen better days. Outside of my room the lift is a bit slow and creepy… And I also found it weird that there was no one on stationed at reception upon arrival, I had to use a ring doorbell on arrival as the front entrance to the property was locked, this in itself is fine, but on entering the front door the reception was closed and locked with a sign saying they would be back. That person was friendly and helpful, but I’m unsure as to how welcoming it makes people feel as during my day I popped in and out and no one was there in the three or four times I left and came back to the hotel. Having the reception locked up when there is no receptionist is a bit unnerving, I book hotels over Airbnb‘s because I like the sense that there’s always someone around as a solo traveller.. this experience doesn’t have the same feel or experience of other best Western hotels I have stayed in.

Easy check in, made welcome, polite staff. Recommended an Indian restaurant around the corner- excellent meal. Prompt breakfast in the morning.

The hotel was very peaceful for a city centre with a large comfortable room, and the breakfast was very tasty.

It wasn't made clear that breakfast had to be ordered the night prior, this resulted in no chef in the kitchen in the morning.

Very welcoming and safe

The location of the hotel was perfect as I came for an event at the Cathedral which was literally around the corner. The hotel is literally minutes walk away from the town centre, railway and bus stations so you can get literally everywhere without the need for a car.

The car parking area could do with resurfacing as some of the surfaces are rather uneven. There was also not much information available about the food offerings, but there are plenty of nearby restaurants.

The location for me was excellent, the reception team were brilliant and very attentive. The room was so nice, huge bed, so comfy, very clean, great bathroon, great hot drink selection, just very very nice, well done. Loved when i checked out i was greeted by my name, really nice touch.

Nothing, the only thing i would recommend is to have fans in rooms.

Ein typisches Best Western Hotel - nützlich für eine Nacht, ohne Schnickschnack.

Rezeption erst am späteren Nachmittag besetzt; davor kommt man gar nicht ins Hotel rein (oder man muss eine Telefon-Nummer anrufen). Die Fliesen im Badezimmer sind nicht am Boden befestigt und bewegen sich daher beim Betreten. Im Flur des Hotels stinkt es nach Zigarettenrauch.

A real shame because even though the one member of staff was very nice and helpful- this is not a 4 star hotel -I arrived at 8pm after travelling a long way for 7 hours,but there is no food available, no restaurant or bar. Many rooms seem to be occupied by people who live there rather than paying guests , which created a very strange atmosphere. Breakfast was awful.

location was perfect for our reason to stay and the hotel had been renovated in the past year and was lovely and clean with comfy beds.

room was very hot despite turning the radiator off and window doesn't open much to let air in.

I was helped to get my phone charged, as I had forgotten the wire and plug.

The property was beautifully maintained with immaculate rooms and tasteful décor. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was calm and sophisticated. The staff were attentive, polite, and ensured every detail was perfectly managed.

Good central hotel near to restaurants. Nice sized room - comfy bed and good sized bathroom. Well refurbished and still looking good. Staff very friendly. Parking easy and free - right in the middle of town. Good value for money on a Saturday night.

Rooms do transfer noise from one to another. So you can hear your neighbours talking and people using the bathroom as plumbing noise is heard.

The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything was well-organised.

Walls way too thin. Could hear people in the room next time us having a party until super late! Also, even with windows closed road traffic until early hours in the morning. So terrible night sleep. Breakfast is a joke! No one to take our order, so had to go to find staffs in the kitchen, english breakfast itself was poor quality and served cold. The continental option was plastic wrap croissant and pain au chocolat, few cereal bars and a couple of choice of cereals. Again poor quality and same for the coffee: awful!

It was a very clean spashus room with good facilities and an excellent reception.

Only issue was the floating toilet in the bathroom felt like it was going to snap off the wall when you sit on it we just used the public one down stairs when sitting was 100% needed
