Very cozy, clean and all the creature comforts. Having a fireplace and wood to start a small fire after a long day hiking and touring around in the rain and wind was our most favorite feature.

The mattress pads made us incredibly hot and uncomfortable during the night.

Només hi havia una dutxa per a dos habitacions. Una de les habitacions era un sofà llit innacceptable. Totalment incòmode. Tanmateix no trobàvem els llençols que estaven a l'altra habitació. No sé com fer-ho, però la veritat és que hauríem de reclamar i que ens yornessin els diners.

Todo era de buen gusto y buena calidad. Las ventanas con mosquitero, y todo el equipamiento necesario para pasar varios días (no solo uno como nosotros). Ubicación excelente para recorrer toda la zona. Un lugar para recomentar.

There was an insuline needle on the ground, which our dog found. The sofa bed was horrible, really bad quality, also the bed in the master bedroom was not from the quality you should expect paying this prices a night. Also there were a million bugs and spiders in the house. The view was nice.

Old Kyle Farm is a beautiful, calm place completely surrounded by nature. The facilities are top-notch and everything you need is provided. It is incredibly close to the Skye Bridge, making it the perfect base for exploring. Just a quick tip for summer travellers: make sure to bring plenty of insect repellent for the midges! We absolutely loved our time here and only wish we could have stayed a few more days.

Přímá komunikace s hostiteli. Jejich neochota a absence odpovědí na zprávy. U tohoto ubytování jsem měla pocit, že je jen na výdělek. Zpočátku byla komunikace v pořádku, akorát se jaksi zapomněli zmínit, že i přestože jsme si objednali a zaplatili čtyřlůžkový apartmán, budeme si muset na dvě postele rozložit pohovku a sami si ji povléci a ustlat (kdybychom to věděli dopředu, mohli jsme s tím počítat - když člověk přijede pozdě večer unavený, rád by si měl kam lehnout). Když jsme požádali o dřevo - žádná odpověď. Ráno v den odjezdu vypadl proud - opět žádná reakce na naši zprávu. Poměr cena - výkon rozhodně pokulhává.

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing, considering the price of £1,150 for two nights. The main issue was the sleeping arrangement. The sofa-bed mattress was extremely thin and uncomfortable, making it very difficult to get a proper night's sleep. Given the price of the accommodation, we expected a reasonably comfortable bed or mattress. We contacted the property and asked whether they could provide a mattress topper or an alternative mattress. Unfortunately, nobody came to see the problem and no solution was provided during our stay. We also found that some of the pictures in the listing did not seem to correspond fully to the actual accommodation, which added confusion and disappointment. Overall, we feel that the accommodation did not provide the level of comfort and service we expected for the price paid.

Our stay at Old Kyle Farm was by far the most disappointing accommodation of our trip to Scotland. Our biggest concern was the significant difference between the property shown in the advertising photographs and the accommodation we actually received. The photographs on the website led us to believe we were staying in the charming Old Kyle Farm shown in the listing. See first picture below. Only a day or two before arrival did we receive instructions and a photograph showing where we would actually stay. It was a plain, rectangular building with none of the charm or character shown in the advertised photographs. We paid nearly $500 per night, making this by far the most expensive accommodation of our trip. We expected much more for that price. We are an older couple, and the layout was difficult. There were 12 very steep stairs between the ground floor and upstairs living/sleeping area. The kitchen and bathroom were downstairs, while our bedroom and TV/couch area were upstairs. The bed was simply a mattress on a wooden frame, low to the floor, with no box spring and was uncomfortable. The couch was also uncomfortable, and the upstairs portable heater did not work. There were small cobwebs at the front-door entry. The very small washing machine had no dryer, which was inconvenient for travelers needing to do laundry. The listing called the view “stunning,” but we would not describe it that way. We understand that accommodations may differ somewhat from photographs, but in this case we felt the advertising was misleading because the photographs represented a different building. If guests are staying in a separate building, that building should be clearly shown and identified in the listing. Given the price and the difference between what was advertised and what we received, we were extremely disappointed and cannot recommend Old Kyle Farm.

The kitchen was well equipped and the view was great.

We paid £575 for 1 bedroom and a sofa bed (for 4 adults) and they both were not comfortable at all, the mattress was so hard and the sofa bed was nightmare hardly mattress in tact you could feel the sprung on your back because of this one of them had to sleep on the floor with sofa cushions. This property is only for 2 people not 4 people unless you upgrade the comfort of that sofa bed for your poor guests who paid so much came all the way here to have a rest but not what we got. And the last straw was the cleaning team’s cars came around the house parked right next to the house at 8.30 am and the noise from the car and they were back and forward carrying stuff beside the house. You should come when we leave at 10 am so give the guests peaceful morning to have breakfast. Sorry I can not recommend your guest house.

La casa estaba muy bien equipada, las camas eran cómodas, la calefacción funcionaba muy bien y había muchos detalles. Aunque se nota que al ser de madera estaba un poco deteriorada en algunas partes.

No tuvimos WiFi, hubo que utilizar el del vecino y no llegaba bien la conexión. Los baños no estaban del todo perfectos, para algunas cosas eran un poco incómodos.

Es carísimo para lo que era. Alquilé aquí porque por más opciones que busqué no quedaba sitio en ningún otro lugar, y sabía que era una pasada de caro pero una vez que he estado allí me arrepiento de haber gastado tanto en un lugar así. Además, al llegar (tarde) tuvimos que ponernos a hacer la cama del sofá, en lugar de encontrarla hecha (en la reserva claramente se indicaba que íbamos 4 personas) y vimos que debajo del sofá cama había bastante suciedad. No volvería ni lo recomendaría en absoluto.

We stayed in the farmhouse and one of the smaller two-bedroom apartments. Properties were lovely and looked exactly as in photos, all facilities were spotlessly clean. (Though inevitably there were some spiders...) Beds were comfortable, kitchens were well-stocked, washing machine worked well. There was table soccer in the farmhouse which the kids (and the adults) really enjoyed. Very nice views of Skye from the farmhouse. We enjoyed it a lot.

Some issues with shower water temperature on one night, but since we had two showers that wasn't a problem. The TV in the farmhouse couldn't connect to wifi. For the smaller apartment, we had some trouble figuring out how to lock the front door even with the instructions (have to push up the handle really hard). Lots of midges around when the air is still, but that's a Scottish problem!

Las camas son impresionantes! De esas que te abrazan y no quieres salir de ahí. A la cocina no le faltaba un detalle. Muy completa. Todo muy limpio. No entiendo las críticas que había leído sobre las telarañas. Todo el mundo sabe que en ese ambiente rural sin imprescindibles y no denotan falta de limpieza en absoluto.

Un poco caro para mi gusto. Pero es lo que hay…

Convenient location to break journey home

Nowhere to put clothes. The floor plan pinned on the wall showed this new studio unit development with a wardrobe in the bedroom but this hasn't been provided. Fine if you are the Naked Rambler but not for us! The space around the bed was very narrow with no room for a bedside light. Although the shower room with toilet and basin is excellent, this very compact unit is mainly suitable for an overnight stay. It is overpriced for what it offers.

Location was great with pretty views. We were only there for one night, so not much to review. Was very comfortable had a large kitchen area and living area. Overall really enjoyed our one night there. Would definitely stay there again.

We loved the charm of the Farmhouse, decor and set up. The kitchen was well stocked. We found a nice trail not far away to walk in the evening.

We arrived to lots of spiders and bugs and unfortunately left covered in distressing bug bites. We do understand that it is a country farmhouse, but you'd think that with regular cleaning the spiders wouldn't have taken over. We did follow the rule of keeping the windows closed when not there as there are no screens.

Altglassammlung (Bier etc.) im Mülleimer vor dem Haus. Der skelettierte Vogel neben der Haustür. Die extrem schlechte (quietschende) Klappcouch. Lieblose, unpersönliche Einrichtung. Insgesamt extrem schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, gleicht einer Abzocke.

Easy to find. Nice open view. Good safe parking. Nice and clean and modern.

We cooked and a couple of small bowls or containers for the fridge would have been helpful and a ceramic dish for the oven. Nowhere to hang up clothes. Draping over bannister provided an alternative. Not sure why the tv had to be quite so big in such a small space. Not keen on going downstairs for toilet in the night but we managed. Maybe not suitable for older people with mobility issues.

Not a lot, arrived to a strong smell of marijuana 😳 Got into property and found it very disappointing compared to images advertised. Sofa bed needed to be assembled and linen had a damp smell. Floor in downstairs bathroom were loose wooden slats with lots of splinters. No welcome pack or even milk in fridge. Bed upstairs was so uncomfortable, mattress was old and linen felt dirty. Whole property needs updating and cleaned/painted.

All of the above plus very expensive compared to others we’ve stayed in.

Die Lage der Unterkunft war fantastisch

Da wir als 2 befreundete Paare gereist sind, haben wir bei der Buchung angegeben 2 Schlafzimmer und 2 Badezimmer zu wünschen. Vorhanden war 1 Schlafzimmer mit Bad, sowie das Wohnzimmer mit Ausklapp- Sofa (leider war dies mit extrem unbequemen Matratzen ausgestattet, für Menschen mit Rückenbeschwerden nicht zu empfehlen)- ohne Bad, lediglich eine angrenzende Toilette) Wir haben telefonisch versucht, dies zu klären, leider ohne Lösungsansatz. Wir haben die Natur dennoch genossen, können dieses Quartier aber leider nicht für 4 Personen empfehlen

A peaceful location with a view towards the Skye Bridge and not far from places to eat during the evening (we had to do our own research as there was no information regarding local eateries in the property). The barn has been renovated to a reasonably high standard and was great for the 2 of us plus dog for an overnight stay. The heating issue was resolved quickly. A fabulous kitchen with plenty of high quality pots, pans and utensils plus Himalayan salt in a salt grinder! Top marks for that! The first floor sitting room was warm and comfortable as was the bedroom. I know past reviewers have mentioned the double bed which is unusual these days but we did know this before we arrived.

The approach to the property needs addressing - large pot holes at the entrance of the drive then a view of a large skip plus building materials littered around part of the garden. Sorting these issues would create such a different impression on arrival. What we could not fathom out though was the lack of crockery and cutlery. We rented a barn unit for 2 people; there were just 2 dinner plates, 2 cereal dishes, 2 side plates, 2 mugs (one chipped), 4 tumblers, 2 knives, 2 forks, 2 teaspoons and 2 dessert spoons. By the time we had dinner, all items had been used so we had to set the dishwasher for clean items for breakfast. In contrast, there was an abundance of really lovely quality saucepans, cooking utensils, great kettle and toaster so skimping on crockery and cutlery is a really poor business model and does not make sense. In fact it is an annoyance to many people who will downgrade the overall property rating because the property owner believes that enough crockery and cutlery for just one meal will suffice. We would have given this property 10 stars had it not been for the bare minimum of plates and cutlery.

Beds and pillows were uncomfortable. While it looked nice, I'm not sure how long things will hold up in the Rowan house. The Cottage was very charming and we loved the deck to sit outside!

In the bedrooms corners big spider webs. We came here late on the evening just to have a night rest. In the morning where was no electricity, so we couldn’t have breakfast, nor charge our phones. In addition, host didn’t replied to our email regarding electricity.

Location near to bridge was good and rest la of Skye. Saw first ever pine marten behind house. Excellent takeaway seafood at shack in Broadford. Well stocked large Coop and petrol station there too.

Ridiculously small and uncomfortable bed. Mattress very thin. Not set up with bedside reading light. Only 2 sets of cutlery meant you were forever washing them up. Awful service and lengthy wait at fish and chip shop in Broadford.

Good location for us, liked the design of the property, comfortable bed and super shower room. Midge nets on windows a good idea. If the weather had been warmer we would have used the outside seating area.

Lack of mirror for make up and hair drying in bedroom. Two of each type of crockery and cutlery was insufficient - we were only there one night but had to keep washing up. Kitchen roll would be useful too. Some of the internal walls could do with a lick of paint and some outside areas were a little scruffy.

Das Sofabett war nicht sehr bequem, eigentlich nicht zu schlafen geeignet. Vier Personen können da nicht übernachten, da zwei auf dem Sofa schlafen. Die Sofamatratze war weich und gebeult. Wir bleiben 2 Nächte.

The property was beautiful. We were booked into The Barn but due to a hiccup with the hot water we were moved to The Cottage next door. The farm caretaker was extremely helpful. The view from the kitchen window was stunning and the kitchen was well appointed and spacious. The cottage has a washing machine and drying rack. Brilliant log fire with plenty of wood. We highly recommend this property due to its character, position, and good communication from the owner.
