Eiger View Alpine Lodge

My favourite place to stay in Grindenwald!! If you can - pleace just book this place! Yes, it's steep to come here, but the room was amazing, so big and nice, with balcony. You can prepare food in the kitchen. I just loved the bed and bathroom! Love love love! And a guy in reception was really nice.

Too bad what I spend here just one night :(

Grindelwald is as wonderful as this hotel is not. The village and the surrounding mountains are the only reason this trip was still worth it. Once you step outside, the Eiger views are spectacular, which makes the two dirty skylights in the room even more disappointing. That is where the positives end.

Insects in the room, including a live cockroach on the kitchen utensils. A corroded kettle with a hole in it that leaked, creating a potential electrical hazard. These two points alone justify a one-star rating: they fall below basic hygiene and safety standards. The room was not cleaned before arrival: hair, crumbs, and packaging on the floor, and a freezer iced solid with old red stains. The door handle came off on first use. The shower flooded the floor, and there was no bath mat, no hooks, and no shelf. But the biggest issue was the behavior of the host. I had booked the wrong month by mistake, and the host agreed to move the stay. He then took an extra CHF 72 by card on site, outside Booking, and refused to update the reservation, saying he had no access. After receiving our complaint about the issues, he threatened us with legal action if we posted a review. Then he used the very date mismatch he had refused to fix to mark us as a no-show, even though we had stayed there and paid him on site. Booking support has since helped us a lot and restored our ability to post this review. Every point above is backed by photographs with embedded date and location metadata. I don't expect an apology or any change from the host. I'm posting this review to warn other travelers that even in one of the most beautiful places in the world, you can end up in conditions like these, and I hope it helps them find a place they will truly enjoy.

숙소의 전기 주전자에 이미 물이 들어있었어요. 언제부터 있던 건지 알 수 없고 청결이 의심스러워서 사용하지 못 했어요.

Great views from our balcony on the second floor. The rooms were spacious and clean and we were lucky to in room 22 to have an en-suite bathroom. Some rooms have private bathrooms across a corridor. Breakfast was ok, fresh fried eggs were an option which was a nice touch. Staff very friendly.

The bed was awful - 2 singles pushed together with a very soft double mattress (larger than the base) placed on top. A smaller mattress topper on top of all that. Made the bed unstable and way too soft for a comfortable night sleep. If they invested in a proper bed and mattress this would be a 10/10 score but if your hotel is primarily for sleep this misses the mark sadly.

El alojamiento es precioso, las vistas son impresionantes, muy limpio.

La distancia, para bajar al pueblo o bien tienes que coger los autobuses que el último es muy pronto, o bien bajar durante 10 minutos por un camino MUY empinado. Pero para tener esas vistas lo merece todo y al fin y al cabo son solo 10 minutos.

Die Aussicht ist spektakulär!

Es hat was von einer noblen Jugendherberge. Gemeinschaftsküche und Gemeinschaftsraum . Es gibt keinen Fernseher auf dem Zimmer und das Bad ist klein .

الموقع ممتاز بالنسبه اللي عنده سياره يبعد عن السنتر 4 دقائق بالسياره مشي 15 على نزول الفيو خيالي وهذي ثاني مره اسكن فيه يستاهل من جميع النواحي الا القيمة مبالغ فيها

الانتباه لوقت الدخول اذا تاخرت ياخذون 50 بالاميه من قسمة الليله الاولى على سبيل المثال وصلت 12 بليل ياخذون 50 بالامية المواقف بفلوس مع العلم انه المكان فاضي الريوق متواضع كما هو الخال في معرف الريف السويسري

While we did not experience this, we received a message from the Hotel that they charge 20 Swiss francs for checking in between 8 PM and 10 PM and Fr.50 for checking in between 10 PM and midnight with as much as half the night rate for checking in after midnight. That seems extremely aggressive.

Alles sehr ordentlich und sauber - schöne Aussicht vom Frühstücks-/ Aufenthaltsraum in Richtung Eiger.

... man muss halt den Berg etwas aufwärts laufen (oder per Postbus hoch - Haltestelle ca. 100m entfernt) Dafür hat man aber nicht den Trubel der Hauptstraße.

Ligging die heel rustig was. Zeer mooi uitzicht! Je kan vanaf het hotel gratis de bus nemen naar alle belangrijke plaatsen in het gebied. Verzorgd ontbijt zou ik zeker bijboeken.

De klim elke avond naar boven vanuit het dorp. ‘s Avonds rijden helaas geen bussen meer.

Nette kamer en prachtig uitzicht vanaf het balkon. Vriendelijk personeel bij inchecken en bij het ontbijt. In de omgeving genoeg te doen. Ook ideaal om de gemeenschappelijke keuken te gebruiken, wat mogelijk is in de middag en avond. Onze badkamer bevond zich tegenover onze kamer. Dit niet als een belasting ervaren, handig wel om een eigen badkamer te hebben. Dus dat wist ik vooraf bij het boeken. Gastenkaart ideaal voor openbaar vervoer. Wij hebben niet naar het centrum gelopen, omdat de bushalte vlakbij de accomodatie is. En in de avond zelf hebben gekookt. Leuke kleinschalige accomodatie.

Eigenlijk is alles prima hier. Als ik een puntje mag aangeven dan is dat de topper van het matras te zacht is. Je hebt het gevoel dat het je helemaal omsluit als je ligt. Maar dit is subjectief... Jammer dat er 15 Frank parkeervergoeding wordt gevraagd. Ook dit weet je vooraf, maar bij een accomodatie kan dit ook incl in de prijs of tegen gereduceerd tarief.

Extremely unfriendly staff. No luggage rack ,tv,fridge,in our premium room. Sticky balcony. Expensive, poor breakfast. Towel hook detached from wall. Room not made up. No light on balcony. No saucer or spoon for coffee. Lager beers on sale were warm. Fridge in communal kitchen was disgusting.

スタッフが少し対応が悪かったのと、お風呂トイレとお部屋が分断されていて都度鍵で出入りするのが手間でした。あとは駅から距離はありませんがすごい坂なので大変です

The location is beautiful, with a fantastic view and just a 7-8 minute walk to the town center. Perfect for our stay with our dog. The room was spacious and clean, breakfast was very good (though limited warm food options, eggs were made to order), and the staff were wonderfully helpful. Special thanks to the two Italians for advice and guidance for activities.

The location was outstanding , overlooking the town of Grindelwald. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast chef was very friendly and made a great meal.

The room was small it was very warm the time of year we came and they did have a fan that helped.

Wondering if we paid too much? 2,000 CHF ($2,600) for 3 nights. Could we have obtained a better price if we didn't go through booking.com? Don't know. But $860/night just seems really pricey on the face of it. Also, bed pillows weren't super comfortable. 3rd bed was a cot that wasn't super comfortable. I think 122 bus only runs until 7:00 pm, and the walk back to hotel is quite steep. Not for the faint of heart (literally). I guess that's the cost of the beautiful views of the valley from the hotel.

It’s was a great set up for our family, had everything we needed and more.

That it was so high up the hill, however amazing views and bus stop so close so didn’t effect us once we knew everything.

Overpriced, the lady Margherita chatted me since morning of booking 2-3 times asking my arrival time, then saying that parking is 20chf. When i mentioned it is not mentioned in booking that it is not, she simply replied if you dont like just cancel your reservation. She knew I cant cancel because it was non refundable booking. When i replied her about her rudeness, she simply ignored my message. Hotel is up in the mountain, very far from main attractions. Hotel doesnt have restaurants so u need to go down to city center to buy food. Parking isnt free, but there is public parking next to hotel they dont mention in order to charge 20chf. Toilet bathrooms were not inside room, so in the middle of night you need dress up to go to toilet through neighbors door! This hasnt been mentioned during booking ! It said private bathroom not like in other room with neighbors. Beds were uncomfortable, you need to climb to it, my mum had back problems so it is not old peoplee friendly. Overall disappointing experience! I would not recommend anyone this hotel, despite fact that it had good reviews. Tourist trap…

民宿在山坡上，上山坡度比较大，自驾或坐出租车过去比较好。

The view was truly amazing. We spent nights sitting on the balcony enjoying the sun set with mountain views, truly stunning! Common spaces were super nice to have, especially the fridge/kitchen area if you want to cook food. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!

I didn't realize when I booked the bathroom was separated from the room and across the hall. Someone was watching a violent movie in the common room which meant if you didn't want to watch you couldn't use the room.

L'accueil, Margherita est vraiment incroyable en tout points, souriante et proactive, ainsi que l'emplacement très calme

C'est juste un détail mais qui peut faire une immense différence sur le confort : il manque des moustiquères aux fenêtres. Lorsqu'il n'y a pas de climatisation, il faut qu'il soit possible d'ouvrir sans se retrouver totalement infestés, et je pèse mes mots, par pas moins de 4 espèces d'insectes différents.

Nous avons tout aimé, que ce soit l’emplacement, la chambre, le petit déjeuner ! Noté excellente pour le travail et l’amabilité du jeune serveur espagnol pour le petit déjeuner 🙏

The lodge is located a few minutes walk uphill from the main city. The view was spectacular, the kitchen which was shared was well equipped. Overall we had a great stay

The view was amazing. The location is great; there's an ice-cold fountain in front of the hotel, and the sound of the water was lovely. It's close to the center, very easy to reach by car.

Ruhige Lage, moderne Ausstattung, beeindruckende Aussicht.

Das Bett hat leider keinen guten Schlaf beschert. Die Breite war für 2 Personen sehr knapp. Kopfkissen und Decke sehr dick. Der Topper auf dem Boxspringbett war viel zu weich. Um abends im Ort etwas zu essen, muss man leidet doch das Auto nehmen, da nach 19 Uhr kein Ortsbus mehr zur Lodge fährt. Kein Personal, das deutsch spricht.
