Breakfast was really good, the room was spacious, the bed was quite comfy, loved the amenities provided, spent one night so it was not bad at all, enjoyed how relaxing the beach was! No complaints :>

Wenn wir ehrlich sind, nahezu alles! Wir waren total Enttäuscht. Dieses Hotel ist definitiv KEINE 4****, höchsten 2** Es liegt im hinteren Eck einer Schmuddel Straße, wo komische Typen rumlungern. Wir als Frauen fühlten uns nicht sicher. Der Parkplatz ist eine Katastrophe, das Hotel total in die Jahre gekommen. Keines der Internet Bilder ist aktuell. Putz blättert, offenbar gab es einen Anstieg des Meeresspiegels, es gibt keinen Strand direkt vorm Hotel. Das schlimmste war diese Bar, àtzende bummernde Musik, in einer perversen Lautstärke. Zimmer sind so einfach und billig, 0 Schallschutz Das Hotel ist für Westliche Reisende 0 geeignet. Für Kinder schon Mal gar nicht. Kaum verlässt man das Hotel wird man àtzend von Jamaicanern angelabert, es war furchtbar, Nie wieder.

Close to the sea

Dirty rooms, shower did not function well and sink was leaking. Staff is a bit rude.

The location looks great as does the photos, until you drive up to the property. The photos used to advertise the property are very different!

It felt unsafe with men knocking on the car windows on the road, no proper parking to leave car safely, lady on the beach making us uncomfortable, room different to pictures and very dated. Door locks didn’t look secure.

Staff was good , and food was good

The view! All the rooms are with the balcony and a beautiful sea view. We enjoyed the evenings with a dinner served on our terrace on the ground floor. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is very quiet located just right next to bamboo rafting. Dont be scarred with the street entrance, is not very appealing. But the hotel and staff is wonderful.

Para quem está sem carro, pode ser um pouco fora de mão. Aos finais de semana, tem música muito alta à tarde (até 17:00) muito próxima dos quartos. O lobby não faz jus aos quartos. Mas nada disso compromete a qualidade do hotel.

Beachfront property. View from the room balcony. Receptionist were pleasant.

No hand towels or wash cloths were provided. Hot water didn't work at all and no one was on-site to fix the problem. Security told us we'd have to wait until morning when the receptionist comes. No one didn't even came to just see if the problem was an easy fix. Parking is on the street at your own risk. Beach was a little messy. TV didn't work. Blue screen all night.

Very clean,good vibes and the food was amazing.

Everything else. I’m ashamed, I can’t believe this had good reviews. I saw bugs, Beatles, roaches. The bathroom was disgusting. The tubs need changing, the entire hotel need some care. Shower didnt work. I spent one night and I couldn’t wait for the morning so I could leave.

Honestly we enjoyed every moment of our stay, this property is not the most modern but I can see that the owners are doing some work to enhance the property. I personally would rather they keep it a little rustic after they’re fully finish with renovations. However the staff were amazing & friendly,the food is absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend this small hidden hotel because they were the only hotel to open their doors to the locals offering help after the hurricane even though they themselves sustained damages. This truly says a lot about the owners keep up the good work and all the best for the future

I enjoy this place so much the Food is amazing, the Staffs are Nice the sound of the waves while you sleep is so relaxing also the ocean view is beautiful. A Huge plus is that its also just beside the river.

Don’t go around it. It’s very expensive. Dirty. Very bad breakfast. Noisy. Room was smelling like pies.

I stayed at Sand and Tan along with 7 others in our nonprofit group. The location is nice, right on the beach, with plenty of beach chairs, and a beach side restaurant. The rooms were large and comfortable, well cleaned. However there were a few problems for two of the rooms. One room had no hot water. Our room, on the first floor, had doors to a lovely patio. However we could not access the patio from our room, we had to go outside to get to it. The doors wouldn't open; initially they opened a couple inches, and it took numerous reminders to get the staff to close it. Despite several requests they never made it possible to open the doors. Another issue was towels, which were fine, when we had them. The second day we never had towels, and weren't advised that there were problems. Finally at 9 PM I went with a staff member to the laundry room and he found two towels for our room. That was only an issue for my room, the others on my trip had towels. We also weren't given water bottles the second day, though some of the rooms did get them. We were given bottles when we asked, and informed that to get water we needed to ask. Other than that the staff was friendly and helpful.

I gave this hotel a two star one for free breakfast and one for view, my room was cleaned since I got here , the shower head fell off twice ,and is still off. I just can’t get over that I’ve been here since Tuesday and my room has not been cleaned. My garage bin has overflowing. This will be the first time and the last time I will come back here

It was nice that the hotel was on the beach and it was very clean, lovely water. The beach attendants were lovely, always helped us move the beach chairs and umbrellas. It was nice that the bar was on the beach too so drink topups were quick. The staff were very friendly.

I specifically requested a quiet room for my baby and also a room on the ground floor because my mum is disabled and couldn't go up the stairs. We got a room right across from the bar which was fine. What wasn't fine was every night the bar had music on full blast until unsociable hours. One night in particular it was still going at 10pm and my mum stuck her head out the door and asked to turn it off because it kept waking up my baby, only to find it was just staff playing music loud to entertain themselves while they cleaned up. Also the breakfast was cold and was the same every day (callalloo for Jamaican breakfast 3 days in a row or eggs). The restaurant was out of many options on the menu for the 3 days we were there and when we did order food it took 2hrs to come.

We ordered food from the restaurant and we had to wait for two hours.

La plage ... même si la présence de cailloux oblige de porter des chaussures de plage. Dommage que l'hôtel ne nettoie pas cette plage !!!

The beach and location is beautiful. Many locals are visiting there, which makes it an authentic experience. The staff was friendly and very chill.

We liked the beach

Limited Jamaican breakfast Options, the mattress and pillows are worn out which made us very uncomfortable, extremely loud music that started playing around 10:45 while I was trying to sleep in, the WiFi didn’t work for 90% of the time, also contacts provided didn’t work,

Most of the staff were friendly. The waitresses and breakfast kitchen were friendly. The room was comfortable.

There was no daily maid service, had to go to reception to get a roll of toilet paper. Had to beg for bath and hand towels. There was LOUD music all day and all evening, till about 10 p.m. This is a rustic, basic, local place suitable for a young crowd.

Being on the beach was really nice. Bar staff and breakfast staff were amazing

One particular reception staff tried to get money out of us and when i said i can pay by card she said no cash only. I stated i had no cash so she said “oh, it’s ok don’t worry about it.

Der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer war super. Die Musik an der Bar war auch immer sehr gut! Die Zimmer waren sehr groß und man hatte alles was man brauchte. Das Frühstück war auch immer sehr lecker.

Die Sauberkeit- Vorallem im Bad war nicht so gut. Zudem ist fussläufig nicht viel zu erreichen. Die Preise für Getränke und Essen im Hotel sind recht teuer.

The adjacent building appeared condemned, with visible structural deterioration, including walls collapsing toward the sea The immediate street environment felt unsafe, with persistent solicitation and drug-related activity directly outside the property

The beach but the waves were treacherous at times….

The location, loud music, shower head broke off hitting me while I was in there. TV service terrible and no one fixed it after it was reported my room was right by the bar….some of the staff were not friendly, hospitable, professional or courteous….experience overall ☹️

The location of the hotel is absolutely brilliant. You have direct access to Shaw Park Beach and White River. I can't fault the location and sea view rooms. Walking around the property and beach in the mornings was so relaxing and peaceful.

I didn't like the fact that non hotel visitors were allowed paid access to the hotel and beach location. It takes away the exclusivity for the those staying at the hotel. The ground floor rooms are not very private with all the visitors passing by. The running water from the shower was extremely poor. Was going to stay for 3 nights, and left after 2 nights.

The customer service and the food.

The hotel was old and dilapidated. The room’s original decor ideas were good, with the wood table concept, and it was clean, but the rooms need to be upgraded; they’re still outdated, and the building needs to be painted.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand, es stehen genügend Liegen zur Verfügung, das Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend! Man kann auf einem Holzdeck direkt über dem Wasser speisen. Man muss etwas lange auf die Bestellung warten, dafür ist das Essen wirklich ausgezeichnet. Auch an der Rezeption geht man freundlich auf die Wünsche des Gastes ein.

Spacious rooms with amazing sea views. The beach is not very wide but it was ok. Breakfast was very minimal and didn’t have all of the options that were advertised. Nice little bar and restaurant on the beach. This place has got a lot of potential it’s a shame.

The hotel is a little run down and they were doing renovations which were extremely noisy. We also didn’t have hot water and one of the staff spent almost an hour trying to fix it. In the end we got lukewarm water. The receptionist was extremely slow and didn’t seem to understand most of our questions.

Hvis du ønsker et sted med vibe og høy musikk gjennom hele dagen. Fint på stranda der elva møter havet. Er mange steder å ligge både på stranda og brygga. Det er rett ved siden av der hvor du kan gjøre bamboo rafting i elven

Jeg bodde her kun en natt, men jeg syns at for at de skal ta betalt den summer per natt bør de gjøre oppgraderinger. Det bærer preg av å være veldig gammelt og slitent. Det rant vannet på gulvet i soverommet uten at jeg vet hvor det kom fra, og vannet hadde en veldig vond lukt. De var tom for mye av det som stod på menyen i baren. Hele hotellet er så så. Syns også de ansatte virket litt ignorante, noen av de i resepsjonen. Jeg ville valgt annet sted for prisen.

The best thing about the property was the employees. All staff was really helpful and Leon (bartender) was a vibe. They played some really good music on certain days at the sunset bar and on a couple of the days had a dj… The location is a bit out of town but get an uber it costs about £4 (English) then we would give the same or £5 tip each way. The road the hotel is on is literally on white rice where they do the rafting (ideal if u wanna do the rafting) but headache sometimes as the workers would ask the same thing everyday twice a day sometimes…..after a week they knew who we was and was cool with us. There is also a lovely fish restaurant there called mr atkinsons FISH POT it’s stunning, so pretty and authentic. The breakfast isn’t a massive selection but what they did have was good…. U can choose Jamaican or American breakfast….eggs, omelette, boiled eggs, sausage. Then everyday they would do different Jamaican breakfast. Overall if ur on a budget and u wanna explore Ocho this is worth the money imo. Also the food at the hotel is pretty good, lots on the menu. There is also a local restaurant (5 mins walk) called the ranch. Try the beef stew 👌👌 And be firm but kind to the hustlers. Just reply “mi good” if u don’t want anything and never say it’s ur first time in Jamaica cause they will see u as weak.

Really does need some money spent on it, the public part of the beach between sand & tan and souzi hotel (nude hotel) had food & litter from locals. Toilet was always half full of water. Shower was cold or Luke warm if lucky everyday. Broken tiles on entry step of building.. I just feel like the owner must be earning money, why not invest in some bits there.

Quaint and serene . Excellent service . Food was good and tasty. Sea waves were very therapeutic and relaxing .beach minimal .

Hot water was not hot . Cold water was refreshing but cold. Clothes draws were fixed , did not open .

It was our first time in Jamaica and we had a wonderful time. Even though the street the hotel is in looks a bit rough (looks, doesn't mean it is) the setting is just perfect. We loved the sea view and the wall paintings. It is beautifully decorated, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, all with a balcony. The staff were lovely. The bathroom was good enough and breakfast was nice. We really appreciated the local vibe, the music and everyone was very nice. It was such a great experience, I would definitely recommend this hotel and local businesses rather than large resorts which don't seem to benefit everyone.

We stayed a couple of weeks and experienced power cuts and water outages - not the hotel's fault + rough weather and we were expecting this when travelling to Jamaica but a couple of candles or a gallon of water would have been really appreciated for the guests.

Struttura vetusta, bagni e docce non funzionanti, personale scortese e non collaborativo per i problemi che si sono presentati: siamo stati un’intera notte e un mattino senza acqua nei bagni, risposta dello staff che non era un problema loro. Non hanno fornito neppure dei secchi di acqua di mare per il wc!! Allucinante!!!

The location and the food is why we like staying here; this was our second time. Every room overlooks the sea and beach area, and the hotel is a 5 -10 min taxi ride into town. We swam every morning (weather permitting) before breakfast which was great. The food is delicious and there is a bar on site too.

Bathrooms would benefit from an upgrade.

Our first room was flooded out as we were about to take a shower upon arrival. First mor ing of breakfast i received a dirty fork filled with food well wrapped in a napkin. Didnt like the cats loitering in the dining area staring at us while we eat

The restaurant staff was courteous and food was very good.

I liked watching the sunset, I liked the easy access to the beach. I liked that it was right by the beach. I loved that I woke up to a beach view.

Only thing could have been cushions in the chairs in restaurant and bar - they were a little uncomfortable! Other than that the shower mat needs a little work.

It is right in front of the beach, but the hotel is very basic and quite old. The breakfast is good, though. I’m sure there are better and newer hotel options for the same price. The sea is totally different from Negril or Montego Bay, so expectations should be kept low. The rooms are very big, which is great. However, it is far from the city center, and you definitely need a car to get there. There are no restaurants nearby.

Rooms are old , bedsheets are torn and old. On the third floor, roof leaked and water was everywhere in the passage. Really poor condition of the hotel. We booked it looking at the ocean view. But the condition of the hotel is really bad. Location is also not good. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.

I like the vibe of the place; it’s possibly good for an all-day party. I liked the terrace of my room. It’s nice to have the option of paddleboarding and available driver services.

Breakfasts were poor, with a lack of fruits and vegetables. The rooms were very old-fashioned. The area around the hotel felt unsafe, with dark streets and a blocked main road on one side. The music in the bar was extremely loud, playing from 11 a.m. until after 10 p.m., making it hard to even have a conversation there.

Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Fijne bedden. Mooie ligging, aan het water, vanaf je balkon kijk je op zee. Strand niet makkelijk om naartoe te lopen.

Continu harde muziek bij de bar. Om te genieten van een plek aan het water is dat niet ideaal. Je zit de hele dag in de herrie. De muziek galmt door alle kamers van 11 a.m. tot 10 p.m. Er mist een antislip mat in de badkuip. De douche was waardeloos

I loved the view and proximity to the ocean. The atmosphere was lively and there were a lot of water activities available in close proximity like jet cars and jet skis and rafting. The food was prepared well and tastes good.

I would prefer a more enclosed parking lot that’s gated.

Hotel direttamente sulla spiaggia, abbiamo dormito con le porte aperte per sentire il rumore del mare. Semplicemente fantastico. Il sabato e la domenica c'è il dj set con musica. Colazione ottima. Mario ci ha aiutati con la batteria della nostra auto e Shanika preziosa ci ha prenotato un tour. Persone disponibili e gentilissime. Grazie. Tornerei senza dubbio.

The entrance to the property is horrible. The beds are soft. The hotel need renovation. The staffs were ok. We had three empty containers in the shower.

The rooms sliding door open up on to a lovely beach with bar/restaurant, the bar man/waiter was friendly attentive, the food was excellent. The hotel was great value for money, really nice beach bar, would recommend.

The receptionist was not friendly or welcoming border line rude. The shower was terrible no pressure and loop warm. Did not have the Jamaica local breakfast which was disappointing
