Carlos and Safira (unsure how to spell) were lovely and welcoming. We did the kayaking trip with Carlos and visited monkey island, we would absolutely recommend both. Carlos was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide, with a clear passion for what he does. The breakfast was delicious and the house was very clean. It’s a very cool house with nice chill out areas, we had a great view of the river and the football pitch where the locals had a heated match 😄 We sat by the river to watch the sunset and saw a pink river dolphin 🤩 If you have an interest in bird watching the nearby bridge over the flooded forest to the local community was one of the best birding spots we’ve been to in South America! Worth the early morning start.
Just a note that internet is only on during certain times (as well as power in general) and when it was on, one of us was only able to access social media apps. So a great place for a break from the internet!
Increíble servicio en un lugar paradisiaco
No poder estar más tiempo
I originally booked just one night at Hostal Búho Amazonas, thinking it would be a short stop during my trip… but from the very first moment, I knew it wouldn’t be enough. The energy of the place, the peace of the jungle, and the immediate connection with nature made me change my plans. I ended up staying for 5 days and 4 nights, and without a doubt, it became one of the most intense and transformative experiences of my life. From day one, everything felt authentic. This is not superficial tourism, it’s a real immersion into the Amazon. Waking up to the sounds of birds, the wind moving through the trees, and the jungle coming to life… it’s something you simply can’t compare to anything else. Every morning brings a sense of calm that is almost impossible to find in the city. The night walks were, without a doubt, one of the most powerful highlights. Walking through the jungle with a flashlight, guided by people who truly understand the forest, and discovering a completely different world after dark… colorful frogs, fascinating insects, and mysterious sounds surrounding you. It’s a mix of excitement, respect, and pure awe. You feel like you’re stepping into a living universe where everything has its place. During the day, every activity teaches you something new: medicinal plants, hidden trails, the history of the region, and the deep connection between local communities and nature. Nothing feels forced, everything flows naturally, just as it should in a place this pure. But what truly makes this experience special is the people. The hostal team doesn’t just provide a service, they make you feel like part of the place. Their hospitality, knowledge, and passion for the jungle can be felt in every detail. They are always there, sharing stories, teaching with patience, and creating an atmosphere where you feel comfortable, safe, and truly welcome. The nights are magical. The sky, the sounds, the stillness… it’s a silence full of life.
Everything was amazing, the people running the hostel are extremely friendly and helpful. The community was beautiful and small, it was the best place we visited on the Colombian Amazon
I had the pleasure to have Carlos as my guide. Despite my spanosh beeing really bad, and he doesent speak english, we had a great time exploribg the jungle and communicatibg with everything we had 😄 The Staff in general is super nice!
It can be a bit boring if no other guests are around because there is not much to do besides doing paid Tours.
The main building and the environment exceeded our expectations! Moreover the owner and his family were extremely welcoming and kind to us, answering lots of questions and being very available to show us around
Nothing, I would definitely recommend this establishment !
beautiful location, close to the river and the jungle. so many guava trees around it smelled amazing. the house itself was very colourful and cute and the family running it was very sweet
I found the tour prices very high but they are the only place in the area to offer them
The hostal is located directly next to Amazonian river. A very beautiful and unique place, especially for the sunset! The hole family who run the place is very kindful and helpful. You can book a completely program with a variety of experiences, in the forest, the river and an indigenious community. But also some single adventures. The guide is a local Ticuna, so you can learn a lot about the culture. I highly recommend the place ;)
I had an amazing time at this hostel, it's in such a beautiful location and the staff are really friendly and helpful. It's a great place to go and relax in the jungle and also to do activities. I did an overnight stay in the jungle and it didn't cost much at all and the tour guide was amazing. Highly highly recommended this place
People were really kind, also aware of which is your purpose and try help you out to find out the perfect activities to reach those expectations which of course is nature and it has it’s own way to flow but can’t describe how magic is that place a how many species could you find just around the corner. Really happy of have stayed in this place with this courteous people and also that delicious food. The explorer guide help was remarkable such a great person, also his energy is totally positive always seeking for your good even when we were camping at night at the wild jungle!. It felt like i was in good hands.
