Comfortable bed, good water pressure in shower, lots of little extra products that made it feel like a mini spa experience, large room, great location.
Paul is very gentle and he served us a breakfast made with great care. You can see the diligent attention in the details of the installation - in the room, in the bathroom and breakfast area. Even though our room was downstairs, we could notice his caution not to make noise to us when we walked upstairs. We will definitely come back if visiting the region again. ;)
This comfortable B&B was perfect. The hospitality was above and beyond, as were the delicious breakfasts cooked for us. I would definitely recommend it if staying in the Leamington area.
Very friendly property with an excellent host.
We enjoyed our stay..very helpful host..thank you Paul
We truly enjoyed our stay. Although it was only for one night, the experience was wonderful. The space was cozy, comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful, tranquil outdoor scenery — the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee and conversation. The host was welcoming, approachable, and genuinely interested in connecting with us. He even made coffee for both my wife and me, preparing her a beautiful cappuccino, which was such a thoughtful touch. The amenities exceeded our expectations. They provided many extras, such as earplugs (though we didn’t need them, they could be useful), toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, bathrobes, large towels, and washcloths. We truly didn’t need to bring much at all. The bed was very comfortable, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the room itself was charming. We also enjoyed the game room and coffee bar upstairs, which gave the place a “home away from home” feel. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and we wouldn’t change a thing. Highly recommended!
Family friendly, nice location, clean room.
Friendly family - great experience overall

Our stay at Nicklin House was very pleasant. I was initially concerned about the check-in process, but it turned out to be incredibly easy. We were given a code to access the house and could arrive anytime after 3 p.m., which was very convenient. It was a lovely surprise when I entered the room. There were clean towels, two bathrobes, tissues, earplugs, a moist wipe, slippers, a cute bar of soap, and bottles of water waiting for us. They even provided a picnic bag with glasses, plates, and cutlery, as well as a beach bag with a towel and a mat for the sand. It’s all about the small details that make the experience feel extra special. Having the code to enter the house was a great feature—it didn’t matter what time I returned, which gave me a lot of flexibility. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying: freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, coffee, toast, and jelly. The location is perfect—right next to the main street in Leamington and just three blocks from a restaurant I really enjoyed (Taqueria Ajua). It’s also very close to Point Pelee National Park, only about a 15-minute drive. I highly recommend this place.
What a beautiful house rich in local history. Enjoyed the hosts and my excellent sleep in room.
Quaint and cozy little gem of a place to stay for our visit to Leamington. The hosts were friendly and accessible to share the local knowledge and provide suggestions for our road trip.
The Nicklin House was a nice place to stay. The host was amenable and friendly.
Owner is very very friendly and hospitable
Room was comfortable; extra amenities in the bathroom were appreciated.
We were first greeted by the owners dogs that would not stop barking and stunk. Then we were kicked out at 10:45 am when our booking clearly stated noon to be the check-out time. They claimed 11 am was the check out time. The owner claimed this as he opened our door after hardly knocking. This led him to seeing us (his guests) not fuĺly clothed. Terrible experience staying here.
This was the most amazing bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed at . The room was beautiful and everything was laid out for us. Most enjoyable stay we’ve ever had ! Paul makes an absolutely astonishing breakfast Outside property was perfectly set up for guests and socializing I highly recommend that anyone stays in this area to book a room here .
I liked its location but hated that the floor squeaks loudly in almost every area of the house. There was also only 1 bathroom to be shared with 4 strangers. I hated the silk sheets and the humid room. I wish I could have gotten a refund.
A lovely traditional property run by a couple who were eager to make our stay comfortable. The only downside was traffic noise from the main road.
Our room was in a nicely appointed basement suite. Nice amenities including a fridge, tv and full use of the upstairs kitchen if we’d have needed it. Lovely hosts. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Clean accommodations, friendly host , cute dogs
We had such a great stay at The Nicklin House! It’s a charming place with tons of character, super clean and well looked after. The hosts were so kind and welcoming, parking was easy, and breakfast was really tasty. Highly recommend if you're visiting Point Pelee National Park—that’s what we came for, and it was the perfect home base!
Everything was easily accessible and I loved the quaintiness of the house.
Great little place to stay for an overnight while visiting Pt. Pelee. Everything is nearby and accessible!
This property is ADORABLE! I love the welcoming feeling and the owners are so kind we will definitely be back
Super quite and beautiful place , you feel like home and not in a hotel but at the same time nobody bothers you and when ever you need assistance they are there for you with a very friendly approach.
Paul was very friendly and breakfast was delicious.
We had a pleasant experience with our stay. The proprietors were very friendly and accommodating.
Very friendly service and a comfortable room. The hosts are excellent! Get the breakfast option.
100 times better than your average hotel. Kitchen is amazing. Shower was amazing.
Lovely place in historic home with homey vibes! Near point pelee which was the big draw for me! Clean and safe and great breakfast, comfy beds, all the basics you could need with lots of cute touches in decor etc. Lots of good Mexican food throughout Leamington nearby so enjoyed checking that out. This is a really beautiful part of the province and a special place for seeing monarch butterfly migrations as they begin their journey south.
It was a great stay. They are super attentive and pleasant hosts, the accommodations are very comfortable and they even have some super friendly dogs. We hope to be able to return for a longer stay. We highly recommend it.
Wonderful hosts. Beautiful period house. The bed was of really poor quality….and coupled with the noisy Main Street we had poor sleep.
I love everything, the house is beautiful from inside out, immaculately clean, and quiet we slept like a babies lol. The host Paul and Dominique is amazing very accomodating. The best bnb in Leamington Ontario definitely will be back again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Nicklin House. Paul and Dominique were the perfect hosts. Paul's breakfasts were exceptional and we really appreciated the authentic period details of the home. We had a lovely time staying with them.
Paul and Dominique were amazing Hosts. I will going back nice get away
The place is beautiful, very clean and cozy and the outside garden is amazing. This house has character. The host was very nice and the breakfasts were very good ad healthy. The bathroom needed a little bit of repairs but nothing major just the towel holder that fell while inn the shower. The place is beautiful and we will definitely go back if we are in the area. The price was good and the the beach, the provincial park and the boat to embark for Pelee Island was a minute drive. We absolutely loved our stay. Thank you for the wonderful stay and we must say Leamington is an absolutely beautiful little place.
Nicely finished bedroom, bathroom nearby. Beautiful gardens with several seating opportunities for breakfast! (Or lunch, dinner...)
We stayed at Nicklin House for two nights and all I can say is all good things. The place is clean feels like your home with all amenities and consumables are within reach and available. Paul the owner is very nice and always checking what need. Even he look after our dog when we are having breakfast. The Breakfast is fantastic and is really good. The property is well preserve with historic character. We will definitely if given a chance to be the area again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Nice and clean house and the host provided us with what we needed. The breakfast that was prepared both days was delicious. Very friendly hosts. If we come back in the area, we will definitely stay here again.
Clean and quiet!
Dominique and Paul are great hosts, as one would expect from people with years of experience in the hospitality industry. Staying with them is reminiscent of visiting a distant relative. They are attentive, polite and helpful without being intrusive. Guests will appreciate the small things, such as the deluxe soap, abundant towels, complimentary bottled water, well decorated rooms and pride that their century home exudes. And, to top it off, they have a select menu of thoughtfully prepared food available. I was quite pleased with the Portuguese-style breakfast and fantastic espresso provided for a reasonable sum. Leamington also offers an atmospheric downtown (I did visit on a Friday night) as well as a beach and waterfront park well worth exploring. Whether you are passing through or using it as a base to explore the region, this is an excellent choice.
The house was cute and easy to access. Simple self check in. Our only complaint was that the room doors had vintage key locks. Well our key stopped working and we were locked INSIDE our room for over a half hour. Tried calling the host but they didn’t answer. It was 11:30pm. Thankfully after yelling for help another guest heard and unlocked our door with their key! So all guest can access each others room.
I am a birder and it has been years since I have stayed at a Bed and Breakfast; if you’re up early and out until late, you miss the amenities… But I enjoyed my first night so much that I booked another night on my return trip back to the Toronto Airport when they had a cancellation. Pricing is very reasonable, too. Dominique and Paul are top-notch, gracious hosts and awesome Canadians that did many small things to enhance my travels. They offered to ready my room earlier when I was getting off a red-eye flight. I enjoyed Dutch pancakes and fresh fruit (and the much-needed coffee!). And I tried my first Portuguese beer! The rooms are cozy and they offer amenities, like slippers to walk around in (shoes and socks get sandy at Point Pelee) and a much-appreciated tissue pack. The rooms are very comfortable and there are silk sheets on the bed! They also contribute to support the community with a community pantry outside to support migrant workers, some of whom I met and are very nice people. Best wishes to Dominique in her new business adventures!
wonderful character and lovely welcoming greeting by owner even though we were quite late with our arrival
I like older homes
The hosts were incredibly nice and accommodating. The place was very clean. We had everything we need. The charcuterie board was delicious as well. A nice touch to our trip. Highly recommended!
The breakfast was delicious!
We enjoyed our stay at Nicklin House, much more interesting than booking into a chain hotel. The hosts were welcoming, the attention to details in each of our rooms was impressive. Our stay there added fond memories to our first visit to Pelee. Thank you!
The hosts went out of their way to show all the features of the home. Although downtown, Leamington is pretty town
Good
Exceptional quality of service
A lovely place with a short walk to the Bank Theatre.
Everything was as promised. Rooms are not large but clean and well furnished. The hospitality is huge. Thoughtful gestures like a basket to use for beach picnic.
Beautiful place to stay. Very comfortable and cosy. If you enjoy older houses with tons of character, you’ll love Nicklin House!
Excellent location close to the Ontario Wine country. This beautifully kept 1920's home was cozy and comfortable. The owners, Dominique and Paul were excellent hosts. We felt like old friends. The house has a wonderful back yard with a great patio kitchen complete with a brick oven and a fireplace. Walk to the downtown area is only a couple of blocks up Erie Ave and the lake shore is a casual 1&1/2 mile stroll down Erie ave. The roomrates are to our surprise, VERY reasonable. Continental breakfast is available. Homey atmosphere and charm are plentiful.
Charming
Excellent location for restaurants, shopping, and a leisure stroll. The host was superb who was very accommodating and provided everything we needed. The house was located on the main street but the room was quiet. The host even provided ear plugs, which we did not need, for those who are super sensitive to the street noise. Thank you Paul.
This truly a treasure found . We do not travel extensively but after staying at Nicklin House we are feeling B&B is a real travel option for us. We are retired and found the rates very fair in today's market. The check in was without any isssue. Communication with Expedia and owners were great. Quiet. The continential breakfast was beyong expectation and presentation in the spacious dining area top notch. Hosts were freindly but offered privacy enjoy the breakfast. Restureants near by . You would not know dogs were there. Prince was a Doodle with real charm. Only comment is with stairs may not be able to accomodate those with mobility issues. We were at a Music Festival in Kingston and 15 min away and coming in later after the event was no issue. You cannot go wrong is you feel comfortable in a B&B accomodation.
Great home, amazing hospitality, close to everything we needed
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner of this facility treated us like family which made us feel very welcome to their community. We highly recommend visiting Nicklin House.
Beautiful home, the host was very personable and helpful. And satin sheets….wooo.
Great place to hang your hat if you have things to do in the area. Very clean, friendly owners, easy going. You share bathrooms with other guests, but that's not a big deal (there are two well appointed very clean bathrooms) and that concession makes the stay very affordable. A much nicer experience than staying in just about any lower priced hotel. Will stay there again!
The owner gave clear instructions how to get in the property trough text. Very charming house. Everything was clean and well organized. The morning I met Paul and we had a great chat and I had a breakfast fit for a king. I recommend this place and I would stay there again.
This is a gem. The house is a beautifuly restored and maintained century home. Our charming hosts provided all the essentials along with a great breakfast, which made for a lovely stay.
