Reviewed Jun 12, 2026expérience ryokan parfaite - grande chambre tatamis avec futon (idéale pour 3 adultes donc), salle de douche très moderne et WC à part, petits déjeuners (différents les 2 matins) et dîner (en 9 temps, original et délicieux) servis dans la chambre, onsen privatisable (pour être ensemble hommes et femmes) ou alors onsens de l'auberge (1 pour femmes et 1 pour hommes). 15 minutes à pied de la gare (en descente - au retour pour 1000 yens nous avons pris un UBER !), 3 minutes à pied de la plage.
il était possible de réserver des massages directement dans la chambre ce que nous avons fait. mais ils étaient annoncés aux huiles essentielles, hors la masseuse nous a demandé de garder notre yukata en coton assez épais. donc le massage était très décevant (et difficile de communiquer). nous en avons pris notre parti.

Reviewed May 13, 2025Traditional tatami room overlooking a beautiful garden. My family were served a delicious array of food,seasonal and fragrant, while seated at the low Japanese table in the room. The staff graciously accommodated our lack of Japanese language skills.The baths were just down the corridor and were clean and lovely and the other guests were welcoming. The hotel was within walking distance of the train shinkasnen, the harbour and the gondola ride up to the castle
We were ignorant of how steep the walk down to the hotel was. A taxi ride definitely recommended for the way up back to the train station.

Reviewed Feb 27, 2024Yamaki Ryokan offers a truly authentic experience with traditional charm. While language barriers exist, the warm hospitality outweighs it. Its proximity to Atami Beach is a big plus, especially during the fireworks festival.
Keep in mind the downhill walk from the JR station; return by other means is advisable. Enjoy the unique atmosphere and cultural immersion!
