We were initially a bit iffy about the location and being a bit of a drive from taupo where we needed to be, turned out to be a fantastic location, peaceful and away from everything - might just be our new go to spot when visiting taupo! Room exceeded our expectations, very cosy, really good lay out/use of space, well presented, very clean and fresh, had everything we needed Fantastic playground and amenities with a bonus little shop in reception Very welcoming and friendly staff/owner We look forward to coming back
Didn't stay longer
Nette Leute und super Lage!!
Preis Leistung sehr negativ.
Close to our venue, quiet and close to lake too, perfect little retreat
5 star
Handy location, clean, modern cabin
Just needed another blanket for the bed given it was a frost that night.
good place and location.
no much complaints
The staff were lovely and very accommodating , the room are clean, tidy and perfect for us!
Loved the new cabin we stayed in. Loved the heater as it felt like having a fire in the room, we were cozy and warm the whole night
Travelling outside during winter was very cold. When we arrived, our room is already warm. Thumbs up for that!
The internet connection was quite slow.
Very good everything
Very comfortable and well presented
No sink and basis plates etc
Loved our cabin , soo cosy , clean , comfortable beds - had everything we needed . Will definitely be staying here again . We got in late and our key with instructions to our cabin was easy to access and walked into a warm cabin - perfection!

The location is ideal as a base before I headed to Kaimanawa Ranges
The toilet/bathroom is far away but this is expected
Absolutely love staying, it is now our 3rd time and every time it has been wonderful
Good location for what I love fly fishing
Site, surroundings, accesibilty, availability
My budget.
Friendly & welcoming staff, awesome location & comfortable & convenient for us.
Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Wir hatten eine kleine Hütte in Form eines VW-Bulli mit Blick auf den See, topsauber, mit Sitzgelegenheit, kleinem Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher und ein paar Tee/Kaffeebeutel. Was braucht man mehr ? Es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir direkt nach Ankunft eine zweite Nacht gebucht haben.
Wonderful, relaxing, and there was no hurry to get going before 10 amil... Thank you very much Motuoapa. Holiday park.
Love that we could stay on a bit longer as it was late when we arrived.
Room very clean and comfy
Only 1 shower for everyone. Room smelt like someone had cooked lots of onions.
East access to the family bach very welcoming service
Nil
Very unique and great location
Facilities were very limited
Excellent accommodation and wonderful service by the staff, who made our stay easy and enjoyable
I have now stayed 3 times in the self contained cabins , As an older guest (89) I appreciated the convenience and comfort they offered . The bed was so comfortable and I loved the pressure of the shower . Ill be back
Coolest little camp area we stayed. Good facilities to use if needed. Quiet area too
Nothing.
The view the peace just time to wine down meet new people an relax would so come back for another stay an tell family an friends about this place ❤️
Nothing to complain about
Cabin was clean
Reviews mentioned that the toilets and showers needed an upgrade. I'd agree. Compared to the obvious investment in (very attractive) cabins, art and decorative detail, it seems incongruous to have so few facilities for such a large (dense) site. I can't imagine what it is like in the high season! Reviews also mentioned the lack of information about facilities on the website. I'd agree. I couldn't find out for example, whether the kitchen had plates and cutlery. There was a cupboard, but very few plates and hardly any cutlery. On leaving, I noticed that plates and kitchen equipment could be hired. Fair enough, but it's a bit late to discover things like that on arrival, so I'm not sure why there isn't more info on the website? We could easily have brought our own, but camp kitchens usually have the basics. I don't know how the large group of young people cooking in the small kitchen found enough plates to eat from and would have had to share one fork and knife!! I realise that the lack of equipment in the kitchen is probably due to visitors taking stuff to their cabins, but the wonderful Hospice op shop in Turangi has PLENTY of second hand plates and cutlery. If not that one, then another. It's a really beautiful site, with pretty accommodation, so it seems such a shame to let the side down with these points. I'd stay there again, but I'd take my own plates and cutlery, and probably make do with the toilet and shower. As per other reviews, the water ran scalding hot - extremely dangerous, I'd say, for kids. Or humans in general. I didn't have too much trouble keeping the temperature bearable in the shower, but it wasn't a busy time. I imagine with others running hot water in the other showers and kitchen it might have been erratic. The signs on the showers (male/female) seemed open to interpretation.
Lovely area
Great little fun combi van!!
Lovely quirky Combi van styled cabin. Well done and comfortable. Even had a view.
All good
Great spot great views and the owners were super helpful.
The ablution block was slightly older but was cleaned regularly and the owners have just started to build a brand new block with kitchen facilities as well.
Right beside the lake.
The ablution block needs a spruce up.
Good cabin, outside of Turangi. It was clean, comfortable and had all facilities we needed for a short stay
No aircon
My accommodation was a combi van, fantastic!
The bathrooms although they are getting an upgrade.
Was lovely clean place, it was exactly what we needed for our weekend away.
No complaints here! Glad we found this place!
My child fell out of the top bunk despite a barrier being put up. The barrier was not secure enough as it was slipped in under the mattress and with a little roll over he was on the ground
Friendly staff, it was a small kitchen but well-equipped, everything was there. Outdoor space was nice to have for meals. Love the water pressure at shower
Nothing to mention
Late-night check-in. Polite and courteous. Well-kept rooms. Had an incident in our room with one of chilrend, where he cut his foot, staff were fast and thoughtful.
Mnot enough milk for me in my room :) <3 Coffee lover here.
Cabin had everything we needed and was clean and perfect for our one night stay before a tramping trip
Very clean and tidy camp and cabin. Great location right on the lake edge. Loved my little "Combie" cabin.
Super clean and comfy. Everyone was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
The only thing missing is air conditioning as it got quite hot at night but otherwise everything was fantastic.
Friendly staff, great location.
The unit was really comfortable, great value. Nice furniture, a TV, and fridge. Perfect for a one-night stay. It was also very clean and warm.
Although we were aware that we didn't have private shower and tap facilities in our room, I think the shared facilities are in need of an upgrade, as they have not changed since I was last at the motor camp about 10 years ago. We were made aware, however, that there are plans for an upgrade, so that is great.
Location
Kitchen bathrooms need updating
Homey for 1 night stay
Ramps bit slippery in frost
We loved how well the property was set out. The cabins were neat, tidy and warm. The kitchen facilities were excellent and very clean.
I like the ambience
Our family unit was a fantastic use of space and felt almost brand new. Very clean and functional. Neat deck with outdoor furniture . Very helpful friendly hosts. Easy walking distance to marina and the lake and the local cafe
There was no place to swim! The boat marina took up most of the available lake frontage and the tiny beach unfortunately not suitable for swimming.
Absolutely loved our stay! only feedback was our cabin was right next to where the caravans flush their waste which on multiple occasions was quite gross and he had to move away but loved the staff loved the kid friendly atmosphere and location was perfect
Super clean. Friendly staff. Great location
It was expensive but we booked late and, lots going for it
Location and staff were amazing. It was perfect for a midway stop over if traveling from Auckland to Wellington with kids.
Our cabin was right next to a dump station, not ideal when you're having your morning coffee on the deck. Maybe put up a screen or something to block the view lol.
Lovely view of lake for the 'boat house' we stayed in. Clean, tidy & quiet. Friendly, helpful staff. Able to hire kayaks.
More showers & better flashing toilets.
Well it was canceled on Friday night when I was phoned to ask wat time I was arriving. I said I was booked in for Saturday 6/12. He said I was not and Iwas for Friday.so no I can't do this survey.i had to hunt for accommodation at 9.20pm Friday night
As above hopefully we can sort it

Peaceful site, staff very friendly and helpful.
More showers but liked plans for new block will sple that hopefully.
Location was fantastic.
Nettes kleines tinyhouse , bett ist allerdings für 2 Personen eng
It was such a specious and cozy room (and so clean!!), we really loved it! Moreover, the owners were suuuuper nice and welcoming - I really recommend this Holiday park to everyone!
Actually nothing because we booked the little self-contained hut which was perfect!
We were elderly couple and owner suggested that she could change our booking to a unit with a ramp and that was gratefully received by us. It just made. Our access so much safer and easier.
Everything great
Liebevoll und sauber
Great place, friendly, good location clean and tidy
Darren and Brierly went out of their way to accommodate us, fixing up a booking error through booking.com straight away and being open to any request! The family room was lovely for cooking dinner with kids.
We stayed in the Trout which was very cute. For a family of 4 it is very small but we only needed the basics. Booking.com does advertise a private beach, however being right next to the marina this isn't the case. Otherwise, lovely spot and great location with short trips to beautiful bush walks and hot pools.
Accomodating when I had to arrive late. Great instructions.
Staff were very very helpful and extremely accommodating to our needs and wants. Nice family environment. Very clean. Felt like the old days kinda campground.
People in cabin next yo us noisy and can here alot through the walls even tho cabins not connected.
