Location is superb. Service is superb. Food is superb. Staff are so kind, helpful & they made our stay so comfortable and peaceful. Simply a great place and you can't go wrong with booking here.
The people working here went above and beyond. The owner was very excited to welcome me. He took pictures of me in front of the ryokan after checking in and when I was wearing my yukata for the first time. At the end of my stay he offered to bring my suitcase to the trainstation by car and took pictures of me in front of the trainstation. This was all suggested by him. After checking in I could chose a yukata and there was someone helping me put it on for the first time. The kitchen was able to prepare multiple meals keeping my diatery restrictions (no seafood) in mind. I had asked about this beforehand but never received a replay making me worry it wasn't possible, but I shouldn't have been afraid. The room itself was nice and spacious. And the onsen in the ryokan itself was also really nice. I definitely recommend this ryokan to everyone!
Ryokan veramente bellissimo e ben tenuto, cena e colazione ottime.
The kindness of the onere and is family Nothing
Simply perfect
Morizuyas was an excellent stay, centrally located, superb dinner , and very friendly and helpful owner and family. I highly recommend this as your next stay. On the day of checkout it was raining and the owner even drove me to the airport in his own vehicle as a courtesy.
Nothing, everything was excellent!
Amazing traditional building
Bed was removed whilst I went to breakfast at 7.30am. Had to set it up again
The Kaiseki dinner and breakfast meals were both fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing kimonos and helping us wear them correctly as well. They were also very helpful in instructing us on how to use the various onsen around town. There was also a lovely matcha tea ceremony that we could partake in on arrival. The proprietor helped get our luggage to the train station and insisted on pictures at every opportunity.
There was nothing that comes to mind as disliked during our stay at the Morizuya.
The owner and his staff were incredible hosts! We felt very well looked after from the moment we stepped inside. Breakfasts and dinners were beautiful - multiple and very tasty dishes. Location is unbeatable, right in the centre, very close to all the onsens. If it's available, book it!!!
Nothing
The private bathroom were amazing, the room was big and there was also a smoking room inside the facility. the owner is an incredibly friendly and polite man, it was a pleasure to stay there and discover Kinosaki!
In the entrance of our room there was some smell, but it was sufficient to close that door to sleep peacefully!
Warm welcomed by the whole family. Learning how to wear Yukata/ Kimono. Kindly helped us to transfer our luggage to the next location.
I’ve never had such incredible service in my life. They were so welcoming and kind and helpful. It was such a pleasure. The rooms were really neat with nice views and the private onsen was beautiful! We were worried we wouldn’t get access to it but one was open every time we wa wanted to use it because there’s only a few rooms so not a ton of guests.
The meals were very big and we had trouble finishing the food. I felt bad as I know it can be considered rude to leave food behind but we just couldn’t eat it all. Most of it was fabulous. There were a couple things not to our taste but it was an overall amazing experience!
Nice venue in the heart of Kinosaki Onsen bath district. The room was spacious. We enjoyed the private use of the Onsen in the evening.
The stairs are hard to negociate. We were glad we didn’t take our big suitcase. We took the dinner and while the food was good we found it a bite overpriced. Generally we found the price of our stay there for two night expensive.
The dinner and the breakfast were both amazing. One of our party was vegetarian and they accommodated with a meal that rivaled the non-vegetarian meals. The staff were the most welcoming I've ever experienced. The owner took photos, brought our bags to the train station, and gave us tips for the town.
I loved the ceremonial matcha ritual offered at the arrival, I didn’t know it was included. Choosing a yukata was also a sweet moment. Everyone is adorable, and indeed the owner of the place took so many pictures of me.
The futon is really thin, it’s part of the experience but my back was not ready for it ahah
A beautiful ryokan run by an 8th generation family. Amazing service, food, cool in house onsen and Kinosaki Onsen is a magical village. Rooms cleaned when you are having breakfast. The Kaiseki dinner was amazing. The Kinosaki Onsen concept is that the whole village is a resort where everyone works together for common good. Villages buses unexpectedly pick you up (for free) from train station & deliver you to chosen ryoken. 7 onsens in village all accessible for free via QR codes. Everything slows down in this place and it’s magical walking around at night between onsens. Lots of public foot baths in the village. Great hotel + village, just an awesome experience. Special mention for owner Hatchi and staff, just incredible. When our driver turned up for transfer, Hatchi was out there washing the van before we departed. Just incredible service.
Very convinience
The staff are very nice, warm welcome and treat us like family.
Great location and exceptionally welcoming staff. They were very kind and even took lots of photos for my family. Both the breakfast and dinner were delicious. There was a great selection of kimonos to choose from, which made the experience even more enjoyable. They also have a private onsen, which my daughter absolutely loved as she wasn’t comfortable using the public onsen.
Perfect location, gorgeous traditional Japanese style. The owner was the nicest, most welcoming person we met. The accommodations were beautiful. They gave us yukatas to wear around town. We did the matcha ceremony at his place. Best location in Kinosaki!!! We also loved the on-site onsens! We were able to soak right when we woke up. Best place we stayed in Japan. We had just carry-on suitcases and walked with our kids from the train station, very easy. He delivered our luggage to the train station upon leaving.
Tutto! Accoglienza, staff, camere.
Very warm, attentive and kind staff, the owner went above and beyond. Super kind, very helpful.
Nothing… everything was perfect!
Der Chef war unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Very nice facilities and kind staff. Two wonderful private onsens you can use during your stay. Walking around in yukatas (free to "rent") gives an additional charm to staying at Morizuya.
Yukata provided along with help learning how to put it on. Some of the local onsens were great. Enjoyed the tea ceremony provided from 3-4:30PM daily. Very helpful, friendly staff. Loved it!

The hotel owner was so friendly and kind! He helped us take a bunch of photos and always welcomed us with a smile on his face. An elderly staff also helped us put on our kimonos which they rented for free! The breakfast and dinner provided were also quite tasty :) This hotel even has its own onsen facilities, though a little small. Location is nice, close to many other onsens and shops. I love this hotel!!! 100/100
NIL, though the room had a smell probably from the straw of the tatami floor
The staff, the food, the private onsen, the room... everything was exceptional! I only wished I could stay more.
The breakfast, tea ceremony and dinner were so special, the staff were incredible and this stay was the highlight of my trip to Japan!
Room smelt slightly damp, but this is totally understandable in an Onsen town! And really wasn't an issue.
5-star ryokan they really take good care of me during my stay. :)
We had a wonderful stay at this charming B&B. The room was spotless, the food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. The owner is incredibly kind and gentle, and also an amazing photographer! My husband and I truly enjoyed our time here. If you’re planning a visit to the onsen town, we highly recommend staying here. There is a convenient shuttle bus right outside the train station. Just let the driver know you are going to Morizuya, and they will take you directly there. When it is time to leave, the owner will kindly drive you back to the train station. The transportation arrangement was very easy and convenient.
Morizuya is a beautiful and well taken care of family owned Ryokan. Very comfortable rooms with many amenities are provided. The hospitality is top notch. Rooms are kept very clean as well as the whole property. The two private hot spring rooms are a very nice amenity and kept clean for guests. Location is perfect, in the middle of town near all the shops and other onsens. We had no issue finding Morizuya when we arrived. The owner is a superb host and ensures everything goes smoothly for guests. He makes sure to provide all information you could need. He also drove us to the train station in the morning and offered to take photos of us! We saw a beautiful tea ceremony from the owners mother shortly after check in too. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. All courses were presented nicely and tasted great. We appreciated the time and care taken to create the tasty meals. Overall every part of our stay at Morizuya was positive and we are beyond happy with choosing to stay here. Our expectations were exceeded and we would highly recommend staying at Morizuya!
Nothing, everything was great.
Staff was super welcoming and sweet, I loved interacting with every member of the family! Kinosaki Onsen is a beautiful town and the Ryokan's location was right next one of the public onsens and not far walk from the others. We were also able to use the private outdoor onsen onsite at the Ryokan which we loved
Food was alright, tasty but not outstanding. I would recommend getting one, either the breakfast or dinner, so you can get the Japanese traditional food service once and then eat out at a local store for the other
The location was fabulous for exploring Kinosaki and convenient to visit the two rated onsens by reviewers nearby. Surrounded by shops and around the corner from the waterway, the place has a quaint old feel. If you are shy, Morizuya has its own private onsens, however. I did not use this facility as I preferred the larger onsens. The staff were polite and the manager was very helpful and friendly - he was able to converse in English. MORIZUYA offers a free tea ceremony experience on arrival and the lady was so kind to take photos for me. The hotel provides a yukata and basket for onsen, and a nicer kimono one for strolling around the streets in. The Manager also was kind enough to take photos for me around the bridge area and offered a luggage transfer to the train station so I could explore a little more before leaving. Try out their dinner for one night if you would like to try a little of everything food wise. Great for solo travellers.
Amazing in every respect. The location is as central as it gets, right on the canal, between one and eight minutes from each of the six public bathhouses in town. You step outside in yukata and everything is right there. The cave bath is the best onsen I’ve had in Japan. In the evenings it’s private, locked from inside. In the cave bath beautiful dark rocks form the walls and ceiling. The kaiseki dinners were extraordinary. Too many dishes to count. Kinosaki was nearly cut from my trip. I’m very glad it wasn’t, and Morizuya is a big part of why.
Very helpful and attentive staff, owner helped us take amazing pictures, food was bountiful and exceeded expectations.
The tatami smell can take a while to get use too
The best accommondation in my Japan trip! This was truly an experience I will not forget. Staff were amazing, yukata wear beautiful, my room was great, tea ceremony was beautiful, dinner and breakfast were well thought and grand. Onsen pass and the private onsens were so good and tattoo friendly so I could actually enjoy my first onsen! I really appreciated that this ryokan had a single room. I regret not booking this for longer and only stayed for one night. I will definitely come back here if I can travel to Japan again.
Everything about this place was amazing! The staff are so lovely and so kind, and the owner took so many pictures of everyone and made me feel like a princess! The food was incredible, the rooms were gorgeous, they had private onsen and you can tell how passionate they all are about it. Will never forget this magical place!
Nothing
Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, tolle Lage, großartiges Essen.
A perfect 2 nights stay in Kinosaki Onsen. The room was exceptionally quiet and relaxing, and the staff hospitality was outstanding — everyone was kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the stay. Breakfast service was excellent, and the public onsen experience was exceptional. The atmosphere of Kinosaki at night felt very local and authentic, which made the experience even more memorable. In my opinion, Morizuya offers one of the best overall values among ryokan in the area.
Everything at this hotel is wonderful, but I'd like to highlight three particularly standout aspects. 1. Dinner and breakfast — these are something that foreign tourists especially should try in order to fully experience authentic Japanese dining. At this hotel, dinner and breakfast far exceed expectations and are a true representation of a traditional Japanese meal. I recommend not eating for a good while before dinner so that you're able to finish everything they bring out — and they will bring out a lot! 7–8 different dishes! All of the highest quality and flavor. 2. The yukata photo experience. The hotel owner has a passion for photography and knows exactly how to capture stunning shots. You'll be invited to choose a yukata from a wide selection of beautiful designs, helped into wearing it, and then treated to a photo and video session so you can take home wonderful memories. This experience is a lovely complement to your stay at the hotel and in the city as a whole! 3. This isn't mentioned anywhere, but the hotel provides basket-type bags for your onsen visits: you can use them to carry towels and other essentials, and they also have small waterproof pockets for wet small towels. So you don't need to worry about bringing extra bags — everything is provided by the hotel! And yes, you don't need to bring towels either — the hotel provides both a large and a small one, which you can take with you to the onsen. They also provide casual-style yukata (in addition to the decorative ones) that are comfortable to wear to the onsen, so you don't need to pack any special clothing. Travel light — everything you need for the onsen will be provided by the hotel! For all these reasons, I highly recommend staying at this hotel — you'll experience the full splendor of Kinosaki Onsen and Japanese tradition.
There is nothing that could be done better!
The location to all of the onsens.
A bit aged but very clean and well maintained.
Struttura meravigliosa, davvero oltre ogni aspettativa. Staff super disponibile, gentile e accogliente.
Wonderful staff - great place - great experience
Clear, lovely
Everything from check in until check out! Very kind owner, very clean place, food was fantastic! They’re super nice people made me feel like home.

Morizuya and it's owner were the highlight of my birthday trip. The whole family and staff are so gracious and sweet. They're so dedicated to creating a memorable stay for each one of their guests, it is beautiful to see and admirable. I had my dream ryokan stay at Morizuya and would highly recommend the same to anyone. The private baths (one a cave bath, and one and open garden bath) were an incredibly luxurious perk. I consider it a privilege and honor to have stayed in this special little gem in Kinosaki-onsen.
Great location, friendly owner and authentic experience. I’d definitely recommend it.

I wish I could rate this higher than a 10!! What an incredible stay - so conveniently located in the main street, with stunning traditional tatami mat rooms and futon beds. Our room had a view of the street which was nice to watch from our seating area, and was opposite the dining room/ tea ceremony area on the second floor. The room was large and well maintained, including a private toilet, kitchenette, TV, floor seated dining space and comfy seating area. We honestly would be happy staying in the room for the entire trip, BUT, the ryokan (and Kinosaki Onsen) offers so much more than just the rooms! Firstly, the onsens. Morizuya has 2 private onsens that you can use, one outside and one inside 'cave', with the conjoining bathing areas to prepare for your soak. Both onsens are truly magnificent and well maintained, such relaxing spaces! They are designated for male or female at certain hours in the morning to ensure everyone can use them. You also receive a pass upon check-in that allows you entry to all other public onsens in the area. Secondly, the dining and tea ceremony. We were honoured to learn about the ancient tea ceremony process with our host's mother, who walked us through the proper process. We had breakfast included which was a delicious and filling kaiseki each morning, with different dishes each time. Our stomachs were very pleased each morning! Finally, the staff at Morizuya. They were fantastic! We were able to pick our own yukata to wear around the ryoken and the street to explore and onsen, with styling advice given by the staff. Our host was the most attentive, hospitable and wonderful host, with a fantastic greeting and multiple impromptu photoshoots in our yukata, making us feel extra special. He also caught us on our way to the train station after checking out and drove us there, made sure we got our tickets and boarded the correct train. He is truly so considerate and helpful and we are so grateful for his help.
Nothing - absolutely amazing stay!
Location. The boss was also very hospitable.
Price wise, a bit more ex compared to the other one on another night we stayed at Kinosaki. Even facilities were not that great
A nice, comfortable stay. While I was there, one of their own pleasant onsens was private use, which was nice as someone a little nervous about public ones. The location was within good walking distance of the other onsens as well. A sizable room and polite staff also helped ensure the stay was comfortable and smooth.
Nothing
Inget.
Everything was perfect — the place itself, the nice and comfortable room, the incredible food, and the amazing staff. The owner was also very attentive and kind. They even have their own private onsen, which made the experience even more special.
Beautiful room, amazing food, wonderful baths, very helpful and kind staff, super cozy beds, great location.
I was nervous about staying at my first Ryokan, but Morizuya makes you feel right at home!! Everything from the personal yukatas, the matcha tea ceremony, to the homes onsen, down to the location being in the heart of Kinosaki!! Truly the best part of my friend and I’s Japan trip!! The owner of the house were the best part, I can not recommend this place enough!! If you are in kinosaki, staying at the Morizuya is the best place to stay!!
I loved everything about this place!! No bad things to say!!
A beautiful stay which is like nothing we’ve ever experienced. Staff are so thoughtful and considerate and the location is second to none.
