Reviewed Aug 10, 2026Despite dated architectural style, the units are spotless, comfortable. Equipped with fridge, microwave, crockery for basic heat and eat. Cosy restaurant offers tasty basic meals and snacks.
Difficulty in locating light switches in a logical place. I accept this may be due to architectural design.

Reviewed Jun 17, 2026We love the location when traveling to or from the coast. Warm beds with THE BEST AND SOFTEST blankets and even electric blankets. Room was upgraded from past visits, had a microwave and bar fridge as well. You do not hear the traffic nearly as much as you would guess.
A bit far from take away joints, but still great value for money.

Reviewed Jun 17, 2026The staff are so friendly and Festi helped so quickly with all our queries and needs. We stay here often and every time is a great experience. The view is also amazing. Everything is in pretty good condition and the grounds and facilities are very clean..
The units have everything you need but are starting to need a bit of TLC. The door had quite a bit of play and with the wind made it rattle, but it was easily fixed by using a towel between the door & frame. With regards to the menu, this is actually a me problem rather than anything else - I was intrigued with a steak meal with peanut butter sauce... bad idea... peanut butter and steak in my opinion do not work together

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026Unique place! I booked a pyramid cabin which looked very comfortable but it didn’t have wifi so i moved to the main building. I ate a tasty supper in the dining room - pleasantly warmed by log burning stove. Very good breakfast too ! Fetsi managed everything brilliantly. It was a lovely place to rest on my journey from Durban to Pretoria. So glad i didn’t fly. The Drakensberg mountains are spectacular.

Reviewed May 15, 2026The pork ribs were absolutely out of this world. The chips were delicious and the salad very fresh. We were called to ask what time we will be there and if we were going to make use of the restaurant, which we really appreciated.
The N3 traffic was very disturbing during the night. The curtains are very thin so the lights shine in your eyes when facing the window. The roof makes cracking noises right through the night.Very hard beds.

There was no fault, just the expectation of the bathroom size, the rooms are outdated and the idea of no aircon was the biggest failback. Bugs and funny noises at night made us sleep very poorly

Reviewed Apr 8, 2026It was just as quaint as I remember from my childhood. I loved the bungalow and the shower / bath sunken into the floor, just as I remember from 45 years ago when it was called Andrew Motel.
During our visit, it was quite hot and there were no aircons, only a fan. But that was okay. We brought camping chairs and sat outside under the tree shade. It was picturesque and cozy. Me and my aunt loved it and will stay there again.

When making the reservation, I asked if someone could assist my parents with their luggage. Not only did the staff help—they truly went out of their way to make sure my parents were comfortable and well taken care of. The team was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful throughout their stay. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and it made a world of difference. I can highly recommend Pyramids Motel. The staff’s kindness and willingness to assist exceeded my expectations. Thank you for making my parents feel so welcome!
