Fantastic hotel with world-class hospitality! The hosts are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They gave us a thorough tour of the facilities when we arrived and went completely out of their way to help us with transit. They gave us a complimentary ride to the cable car station and even dropped us off for our bus back to the main station since we had luggage.

The property was very inviting and easy to find. The owners were ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! I've never been to a place with such amazing people running it. The onsens were private and exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Absolutely stay here!!!

Malheureusement, le Onsen n’est pas privé, et la propreté est moyenne. De plus, le mobilier est vieillissant. Les chambres ont une odeur de renfermé.

Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié leur attention et leur disponibilité : notre hôte s’est même gentiment proposé de nous déposer en voiture jusqu’à Gora, une attention qui nous a particulièrement touchés ! Los señores que llevan este precioso ryokan son entrañables y muy buenas personas. Realmente se preocupan de que estés cómodo y te hacen sentir como en casa. El onsen es privado (50min) y es precioso. Fue mágico pasar la noche allí después de explorar Hakone, una gran experiencia que no olvidaremos. Al día siguiente el encargado incluso nos acercó a la estación en coche, qué amable. Muchas gracias por todo!! Arigato gozaimasu!!

Des hôtes d'une gentillesse incroyable dans un cadre super agréable. Comme nous étions très peu à l'hôtel cette nuit là, on a pu profiter plusieurs fois du onsen qui nous a fait beaucoup de bien après les longues journées de marche. Je recommande ++++. Rapport qualité/prix excellent

Wonderful place. The hosts were fantastic and couldn't do enough, whether that was free water bottles, or driving me to the restaurant in the evening and the train station the following morning. The onsen is a special experience, and the room was comfy.

Ciekawe onseny, niezwykle uprzejmi i bardzo pomocni właściciele, którzy udzielają informacji o możliwościach posiłku oraz atrakcjach w okolicy, a nawet osobiście zaprowadzą lub dowiozą na miejsce. Urocze, ręcznie robione dekoracje wewnątrz. Można poczuć klimat prawdziwego domu japońskiego. Spokój, bezproblemowe i zapewniające intymność korzystanie z kąpieli. Można było przebywać w onsenie wspólnie z całą rodziną, co rzadko jest możliwe (podział płci), zdecydowanie na plus. Ciepła herbata dostępna cały czas.

Les Hotes charmants et prêt à tout pour nous aider. Ils nous ont conduis à l'autre bout de la ville pour que l'on puisse diner. De plus, beaucoup d'attentions à notre égard. Onsen privatisable, donc mixte si on le désire.

Loin du lac mais bus qui passe à 50m. Etablissement un peu dans son jus, mais rien de dramatique, au contraire.

L'accueil exceptionnel du couple de personnes âgées qui tient l'établissement, d'une gentillesse incroyable. Le onsen privatisé pour les familles, le onsen men only, qui vaut le coup d'œil.

Notre séjour au Ryokan Tsukinoya restera un moment inoubliable et nous engageons quiconque à y séjourner si l'occasion se présente !

Our stay at Tsukinoya was truly unforgettable. The hosts treated us like family and kindly offered us lifts to local attractions and restaurants. They felt like our grandparents. The private onsen was so deeply healing and I miss it everyday! Genuinely a little quaint and special paradise in the middle of green rolling hills. We are so so happy we stayed there, and definitely want to make a return.

Ne vous attendez pas à un établissement rénové, c’est assez vieillot mais le onsen privé et l’accueil font la différence !

Das Gastgeber-Ehepaar ist extrem zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit und haben uns enorm wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer in dem über 100 Jahre alten familienbetriebenen Ryokan sind traditionell und authentisch und wunderschön. Die Aussicht auf die Berge ist umwerfend und der private Onsen ist überraschend groß und unglaublich schön. Wir können nur nochmals betonen, wie herzlich die Gastgeber sind, die uns teilweise zu Nachbarorten gefahren haben oder mit uns auf den Bus gewartet haben, um dem Busfahrer mitzuteilen, wo er uns ablassen muss. Unsere beste Erfahrung auf dieser Japanreise. 10 von 10.

Die Gastfreundschaft der Besitzer war unglaublich herzlich und wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen! Sehr authentische Unterkunft mit Onsen - wenn man Japan ein wenig kennen lernen möchte, muss man hier übernachten! Wir waren 2 Nächte hier - es gibt auch in der Umgebung sehr viel zu erkunden. Es ist wie beschrieben. Danke euch!

Nous avons passé un excellent moment dans cet établissement. L’accueil a été absolument parfait : les hôtes sont d’une gentillesse rare, très chaleureux et extrêmement serviables. Ils ont même eu la délicatesse de nous proposer de nous emmener en voiture à la gare ainsi qu’au restaurant, un geste que nous avons énormément apprécié. Ils font vraiment tout pour que leurs clients passent le meilleur séjour possible. Concernant la chambre, tout était parfait : très propre, confortable, spacieuse. Nous recommandons cet établissement les yeux fermés à toute personne souhaitant découvrir Hakone dans un cadre authentique, avec un service exceptionnel.

Nous avons vécu un moment inoubliable en famille. Madame et Monsieur on été tres agreables et tres serviables. Nous habiller en Yukata nous a beaucoup plu et surtout de tester un Onsen ! La chambre était parfaite pour nous, spacieuse et chargée de traditions, c’est ce que l’on recherchait !

The couple that runs it is amazing! Truly far and above what I was expecting in terms of customer service but also genuinely nice and lovely people. The baths were amazing and the setting felt like an oasis from the busy cities we’ve been visiting on this trip. There are lots of hills but I was shocked how much was walkable; look for the walking paths that map apps doesn’t know use. After exploring the amazing outdoor sculpture museum my phone died and I truly enjoyed wandering the hills trying to find my way back to the hotel. I even stumbled upon a magical waterfall at the Hakone “Town Hall”. 10/10 do recommend. Also no need to worry about tattoos as the baths are private. They are technically shared but the doors lock and bath robes are provided so nobody needs to know.

I had a bit of a hard time sleeping on the tatami mats but I’m a westerner used to soft beds. A good soak in the private baths before & after was all I needed though.

Prywatny onsen !!!! Ciche spokojne miejsce. Właściciele to cudowni ludzie, którzy są bardzo pomocni! Zapewniają transport na dworzec, nas podwieźli nawet do Gory , do restauracji ,na dworzec ( co było wielkim zaskoczeniem). Pozdrawiamy ich bardzo serdecznie!!!

The family running the hotel is amazing. They are very supportive and make sure you feel comfortable. A lot of attention, memorial souvenirs and exceptional hot springs. Also, they helped a lot with shipping our forgotten retainer to our next destination.

People are very nice, Like a family members. We feel like we are staying with family. You are 100% safe there.

Me encantó que estaba situado en un pueblito precioso de las montañas y la pareja que lo regenta con encantadores con ganas de ayudarnos constantemente.

Olía mucho a tabaco cuando llegamos, es un ryokan auténtico pero las instalaciones están un poco anticuadas, no muy limpio y con mucha luz desde primera hora de la mañana. Un poco caro para la calidad del establecimiento

God onsen, som var let tilgængelig. Ægteparret, som ejer stedet, var søde og hjælpsomme. De hjalp os med at finde et godt aftensmadssted. De taler ikke engelsk, men kommunikationen gik vældig fint alligevel. Vi fik en lille gave ved indtjekningen som en sød lille gestus.

Todo, comenzando por que justo ese día fue el problema del Shinkansen, los dueños me fueron a buscar al terminal ya que tuve dificultades con la locomoción y todo esto sin pedir nada a cambio, llegamos y el señor estaba siempre preocupado que comiéramos que estuviéramos cómodos una amabilidad que nunca había visto en mi vida, la pareja es encantadora y de verdad recomiendo quedarse acá por que el lugar es hermoso es un lugar tradicional japonés y por qué la pareja te hace sentir como en casa, una experiencia que de verdad repetiría, el onsen espectacular y la ubicación buena, la verdad estoy muy feliz por haberme hospedado aquí

Nada, todo es perfecto

La habitación muy amplia, muy bonita y acogedora. Dormir en futones y poder tener un onsen privado fue un lujo. Pero lo más destacable es lo increíblemente amables que son la pareja que regenta el ryokan. En todo momento pendientes, nos llevaron en coche a la estación y nos dijeron que si queríamos nos llevaban y recogían de algún restaurante. Un 10! Si haces la ruta de teleférico y barco, para volver hay un autobús que te deja a 10 minutos, así que fue perfecto.

Misafirperverlik temizlik nezaket ve olanaklar harikaydı. Japonyadaki seyahatimiz boyunca en çok keyif aldığımız ve mutlu olduğumuz oteldi. Sahipleri çok nazik ve yardımseverdi. Bizi uzaktaki yerlere arabayla götürdüler. Çok güzel hediyeler verdiler. Zaten otelin etrafı görülecek bir sürü şeyle doluydu. Her yerini gezemedik bile. Tekrar Japonya'ya geldiğimizde kesinlikle burada 5 günden daha fazla kalacağız.

Simply the best! The private onsen was the highlight of our trip, it was very cozy and comfortable The staff: Uncle and Aunty were simply awesome! They were super nice, accommodating and very hospitable. They also gave us their umbrella as we had forgotten. I owe them one! They were very kind and generally warm humans. The room was very traditional, big and comfortable. They also gave Kimono to wear. The two onsens in the property was awesome.

Nothing much honestly, it was raining super bad that day so we couldn't explore much in the surroundings. But apart from that very nice.

As others have said, the couple that run the establishment are FANTASTIC! They offerred us rides and drove us to bus stops and train stations. They really go above and beyond! The private onsen was a delight as well.

As others have said, the place is 115 years old. So don't expect brand new and modern, but everything was clean and well-maintained. I consistently have back problems, so sleeping on the beds wasn't the most comfortable, but they were cozy and probably the softest of all the beds we had on our two week stay.

Traditional Ryokan with spacious, clean and quiet room. Two private onsen onsite available, which are very enjoyable after a long day out. The owners are super friendly and helpful, and the owner even drove us several times to reach a bus stop or starting point for a hike!

Definitely the best part of our trip. We had an amazing experience...the 2 onsens each have their own character, the beds were soft and Jin and his wife were exceptional hosts. We hope to co.e back again.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful with anything we needed. The onsen was great and open 24 hours a day. They actually have 2 onsens that were very available. The rooms were so comfortable and the traditional Japanese floors felt so good on your feet. We loved our experience there!

Nice ryokan for staying in Hakone. We stayed 2 nights, and loved it! Its a small place, so you also get a break from the tourist masses. There are two private baths at Tsukinoya, and tatami floors with futons for sleeping. The owner couple are very friendly and helpful, they also drove us around to restaurants etc a few times 😊

Lovely hosts . It's a cozy Inn with exceptional hospitality. Two private onsens. Very clean.

Wonderful Ryokan that looks and feels very authentic. The rooms are comfortable and the private onsen was great. The hosts are exemplary in their kindness and hospitality. The location needs a little bit of stairs climbing or walking up slope but nothing strenuous and easily doable. Highly recommend for an authentic ryokan experience with a private onsen thrown in.

1. The owners were a wonderful couple! They were super accommodating, friendly, and helpful. They helped us plan our days with the activities around Hakone and let us know when the onsen was available by knocking on our door. Seeing that we were travelling with 2 young kids and tons of luggage, the owner dropped us off at the bus stop instead of us having to walk to the stop. On the first day, I misread the bus pick up time and thought I missed the last bus back to the hotel. I called the owner to see if he can call me a taxi but he picked us up himself. It's like staying with a family member! Super grateful for him and his wife. 2. Private onsen, open 24 hours with a 50 min time limit each session. There are 2 of them, but one of them is not kid friendly due to the deepness of the pool and the decorations that are adult in nature. 3. Location. Close to the bus stop so if you buy the Hakone free pass, the drop off/pick up is right there. I will definitely stay here again if we were every back in Hakone! Thank you Tsukinoya

My family had a great stay at Tsukinoya. The room was spacious and we loved sleeping on the tatami mats. We really enjoyed unwinding with the tea and kettle they provide, and of course in the (private) onsen! The guesthouse is located right by the bus stop for easy transportation around Hakone. The husband and wife that run it are so kind -- they made us a last-minute dinner reservation and drove us there, and drove us to Gora for the start of the loop.

Un accueil incroyable, notre hote a tout fait pour nous aider et nous a accompagné jusqu'à un restaurant puis est revenu nous chercher. Le Onsen était top et nous a permis de récupérer

L'accès est un peu compliqué, nous avons dû demander notre chemin, on nous a immédiatement aider. Malheureusement des personnes étaient bruyantes.

Ce Ryokan avait un charme d'un autre temps. Avec toutes les règles de bienséance a expliquées à notre arrivée, nous avons vraiment eu l'impression d'enfin toucher le vrai Japon. Le patron nous a simplifié la vie en nous amenant en voiture dans des restaurants qu'il nous avait conseillé et qui étaient vraiment bons, ainsi qu'au téléphérique, ce qui compense largement un emplacement un peu excentré. La chambre familiale avait beaucoup de charme. Le onsen de l'établissement à disposition qui remplace la salle de bain était également charmant.

Il n'y avait pas de possibilité de petit-déjeuner ou manger sur place. Mais l'eau chaude et le thé vert de bonne qualité mis à disposition compense un peu

We loved the hospitality of the host. They were very accommodating and gave us rides to where we were going and advice on how to spend our time. They delivered hot water and tea and the onsen was beautiful.

The place was slightly outdated but everything functioned perfectly and was well taken care of.

Fueron realmente amables los anfitriones. Fue una estadía corta pero muy linda y tranquila. Es 100% tradicional el lugar y esta muy bien equipado. El onsen es una maravilla. Todo muy limpio y ordenado. Te dejan té y agua caliente para que puedas usar en la habitación cuando quieras. Y las habitaciones son amplias. También nos dieron un mapa y nos mostraron los lugares que ellos recomendaban para comer y visitar.

La ubicación es un poco difícil con maletas, pero nos ayudaron a transportarlas más de una vez con su auto, muy agradecida de su hospitalidad.

Ils nous proposent de nous emmener et amènent chaque jour de quoi se faire un thé. Do not expect the Ritz or Four Seasons. This onsen is over 115 years old. It is authentic and warm, not elegant or fancy. But it is charming and comfortable. But far and away the greatest things about this place are the coupled who own it. They are incredibly sweet and will go out of their way to may your stay wonderful. There are two different rooms with hot springs. The one on the first floor is fantastic. We went to eat a small restaurant we walked by that was 90 seconds away and the woman insisted in walking us there. There is a lovely shrine around the corner. You will be in a small hilltop neighborhood and the 7-11 store and village are a 7 minute walk downhill and 10 minute walk up.

Wat een fantastische mensen en bijzondere plek. De buiten onsen is echt heerlijk en ook makkelijk privé te reserveren. De gastvrouw en gastheer doen er alles aan om je verblijf goed te maken. Ze reserveren de restaurants en brengen je er heen en lopen zelfs mee naar binnen. De kamers zijn groot en zeer netjes, je hebt alles wat je nodig hebt.

L'accueil et la gentillesse des propriétaires, ils sont adorables et bienveillants. Jusqu'à nous réserver le restaurant qu'on avait choisi et nous y emmener avec leur propre véhicule. Par contre le retour c'est à pied, pour mieux digérer 😜. Pour le onsen, nous avons pu en profiter avec nos 2 ados et en maillot de bain, l'endroit est juste magnifique....

The staff was so very sweet and kind and helpful, offering to drive us around which was extremely helpful. They were also super responsive to our questions before we arrived. The onsens were just incredible. The futons in the room were really comfortable.

There is a slight smell at times, I think from having 2 onsens but also being an old building, but this was completely manageable.

Loved the accomodation as a whole, felt quite cozy and "homey" even though it's pretty big. Obviously the onsen is amazing and you get a kimono and green tea in your room. The owners are great, very accommodating and helpful.

There is no way to reserve a time at the hot spring so you need to get ahead of the other guests. The tatami with futons were not the most comfortable I've experienced.
