Unfortunately we had a draft coming through two of the bedroom windows when fully closed which lowered the temperature in the rooms significantly.

It's handy to the beach and superette. Easy walking distance to town. The beds were comfy and it had everything we needed including seats on the balcony to relax on.

A car blocked the entrance to the back of the section so we couldn't park our bikes out of sight of the road.

It was very clean and spacious, close to the beach, and within walking distance to the town centre.

-The shower was very small with low pressure. - the apartment above was very noisy on the floor. Which woke us up. - the two single beds in the second room were perfect for kids. One was like a marshmallow the other was very squeaky!

Wir waren im ersten Stock, das Appartment war sehr geräumig, die Betten war für uns etwas zu weich. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit..Der Weg zu Strand war kurz.

In der Küche bei den Utensilien besteht Optimierungsbedarf.

Brilliant location, 3 mins walk to the sea. Although check in was "remote" everything worked well with excellent communication.

Thanks for T.P, forgot to ask for another towel as you only gave 3 for two people for 2 nite stay and no washing machine or dryer. Vacuum does not suck while trying vacuum

Close to the beach but also very easy to walk into town … getting into property was easy and communication was quick..

I read reviews before I went saying shower wasn’t great but there nothing wrong with it … definitely no problems

A bit noisy - could do with better insulation between the apartments. The person next door snored and it was like they were in my room. A bit pricy for a one-bed, but it was clean and easy to get to.

The location and spaciousness

The place did not match the photos and many aspects of the place were dirty and gritty. The oven in the kitchen was not clean, the grill was covered rancid fat and unusable. The extractor hood had mold growing on it. The bathroom was moldy and the shower and basin were dirty with mold. The toilet roll holder looked disgusting. The table had four different styles of chair, very different from the photos. Three of the chairs were ripped or near broken. The place looked shabby and care worn and the lightshade in the lounge was filled with dead bugs. The curtains in the lounge were dirty and didn't fit properly. The windows sills and slider sills were dirty. The mirror in the bathroom had black electrical tape that was peeling off. The shower was unclean with soap scum and mold. The bathroom math had bleach mark stains on it. One of the deck chairs was broken and missing a slat. The stable runner was stained.

Host is so relaxed, trusting and easy-going. Didn't require ID verification and sent doorcode beforehand for smart, seamless arrival. Unit isn't super modern but many touches make this place advanced: the digital door-lock, warm minimalist interior, 5G WIFI. The beautiful interior with IKEA furniture like the Ragrund and Regolit lamp makes this unit like a home. The unit didn't feel like it was at a commercial property like hotel/motel- it gave you sense of belonging...people like host treated you as if you're neighbour for instance. Love also how many services/amenities are all self-intiated...the provisions left by previous guests for future use show the care and generosity of the community which is awesome

Awesome location....just one street away from the beach. And Achilles Store was a 2min walk around the corner. I would definitely stay here again as it was comfy and had everything we needed. We got upgraded to the entire top floor which consisted of four bedrooms.

Could hear footsteps on wooden floors in above apartment, which woke me. Lucky only 2 adults there, with kids would have been far too noisy.

The location was great because of the short walking distance to the beach! The h accommodation itself gives a nice beach feeling with the beautiful front of the house and its wooden balconies ! The apartment was nicely furnished and offers a lot of space!

Confusion over which unit we rented. Would be nice to have a few simple instructions for hot plates, tv set up etc.

Location was perfect and the facilities included everything we needed for a great stay. It was well decorated and felt cosy.

Kitchen was a lil out dated but it still included everything we needed.

It was simply, like a hotel, but in a home. I checked myself in. Everything i needed was there. I would bring my family and stay here for longer if we get the chance. It was a pleasant and an enjoyable stay.

Theres nothing that i didnt like. If anything, if you're gonna stay here for work or school and need the iron and ironing board, just let the owners and caretakers know in advance. Also if you stay longer and need to wash your clothes, they currently dont have a washing machine.

Difficult getting in as I was given the wrong code & did not know which unit I was in. U had no internet service so I couldn't ring the owners. Fortunately there was a staff member at another business able to help me.

A perfect self-contained space for a few days in Whangamata! The kitchen has everything you need, it’s spacious, the bathroom is clean, and it’s just a short walk down to the beach. If you’re looking for somewhere affordable but still comfortable this is the perfect place.

It’s a bit of a walk to the nearest supermarket if you don’t have a car but if you do it’s no bother

There are a few references online that call this place a hostel, but let me assure you—it’s not a hostel at all. This is a charming property with three separate, well-appointed units that create a welcoming and social atmosphere. Two of the units are on the ground floor, and the third occupies the entire top floor. Each unit is thoughtfully designed with its own kitchen, dining area, and private outdoor deck, perfect for relaxing or connecting with fellow travelers. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting the other guests. We spent time chatting on the deck and even had dinner with two wonderful travelers from London who were staying next door. The layout of the property naturally encourages friendly interactions, making it feel like a little community. The location is fantastic—just one block from the beach, with parking right out front, and a short walk to the downtown strip with its shops and restaurants. What really makes this place stand out, though, is Mauro, the owner. He’s a phenomenal host—kind, approachable, and passionate about what he does. On-site, he runs a surf kiosk where you can rent surfboards or kayaks, and he also offers a surf school and guided kayak tours. Don’t miss his tour to Donut Island; it was the highlight of our trip! Mauro’s energy and hospitality truly bring this property to life. We stayed for four nights and wished we could’ve stayed longer. It’s the perfect place for those who want a mix of adventure and connection. A solid 10/10

Size of apartment was good value for the price

I stayed in the flat on the first floor, very spacious and welcoming, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. The property is located a few steps from the beach and close to the Main Street Port Rd in town. WiFi is excellent. The hosts run a surf school and rent kayaks as well - I could do the surf lessons but unfortunately not try the kayak to donut island due to rain, next time!

The TV was sometimes not working but not a big issue, the stay was great.

The property is probably only 250mtrs from beautiful Whangamata Beach and a short walk into township

Bed were incredibly comfy, everywhere was spotless and the hobs you cook on were impressively quick. Owner was brilliant and gave suggestions on where to go to surrounding beaches with good surf.

Up stairs/ no lift. Stairs difficult to navigate - toting luggage added to difficulty. Mgr put us in the wrong unit. Found other couple there when we returned from grocery run. Sorted out conflict ok. Moved upstairs.

Great location, everything you need. Attentive staff, excellent value for money.
