There were blown light-bulbs in both the bathroom and kitchen, so lighting wasn't great. When we pulled down the kitchen blind at night we were confronted with a very dirty blind, with bits of goodness-knows-what stuck to it. There was no sofa, just two chairs that were restrictive and uncomfortable. As the bedroom was a separate room with no tv, was not great for lounging around. And walls were paper-thin. Highlight was the electric blankets on the bed.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026When we arrived in the evening the room was very cold . There was a lack of adequate heating on a winters night. The room and furniture were dated and did not appear very clean. The bathroom though appeared clean had quite a bit of mould and mildew on the ceiling.

Reviewed May 27, 2026Loved our cabin at the edge of town, it had everything we needed, including coffees and milk was also provided. Parking was handy, everything was spotless, beds were comfortable, which is always pleasant! Hosts were friendly and welcoming.
The toilet block was a short walk away - nothing you can do about that, but in the middle of the night a bit chilly, so good to be aware. Wouldn't stop me going back.

I was welcomed with a smile and told towels and hot drinks were both available in my room and shared facilities a few steps from my cabin.. Huge ups for the quality shower and room. The bed very comfortable indeed.

Reviewed Apr 4, 2026Quiet location away from main highway. Beautiful garden area with a variety of flowers and plants, plus friendly farm animals. Motel unit is nicely equipped just enough with kitchenwares and amenities. Outside couch and table with chairs are sheltered and it was cozy.
Just confused with handling power guard switch board in bathroom which affects lights on the ceiling when it was turned off by mistake. Having a notice how to handle this would be helpful.

everything in town is closed by 7pm so if you need food make sure you get to town early or bring some along.

Shared bathroom was clean and well organized with 2 shower rooms that also include sink +mirror +hangers and place to get dressed. The kitchen was well equipped and well organized too. Easy late check-in/early check-out process. All in all - one of the best places (of this sort) we stayed in in NZ! Really recommended!

We stayed in a Family Studio which was spacious, very comfortable, well appointed and exceptional clean. The unit had a verandah at the front and a small deck off the kitchen with a table and chairs, which my partner and I made good use of in the evening. The kids enjoyed a bounce on the trampoline even in the rain, and swim in the pool when the sun came out. We really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely be back at some point.

The TV worked on HDMI3 instead of AV as written.

Reviewed Jan 4, 2026This is a great little place! We actually enjoyed being here more than we thought we would. We booked in Cheviot as a halfway stop but once we arrived at the accommodation we wished we had booked just one more day at least.
They could improve buy purchasing smart TVs.
