Kitchen often gets smelly when everyone starts to cook dinner. Probably need some rangehoods to get rid of the smell.

Pour faire la cuisine il y avais une seule chose qui marche. Le première soirée il y avais plein de gens et nous devons attendre une heure avant nous pouvons faire la cuisine parce que les deux hot plates ne marche pas. Le prix C'était un peu cher pour le type d'accomodation

Reviewed Mar 22, 2026We stayed in one of the new cabins, which was spacious, comfortable with everything we needed to self cater breakfast. Loved the beautiful trees surrounding the park. The location was great for walking to lunch and dinner. The park manager was very friendly and helpful with dinner suggestions and places to see in the area. We enjoyed the drive to the lakes and Mt Cook.

It was quite outdated and basic, and the seating benches outside were mainly all quite unkempt and in disrepair. There was only one toilet for 5/6 rooms too. Could do with some TLC, but not the worst place!

Reviewed Mar 10, 2026Convenient location between the busy tourist destinations. Wall heater gave good warmth and there is a kettle and a toaster plus 2 cups and some cutlery in the cabin. Bed was okay and had sheets and duvet and extra blanket.
The cabins are tiny and vey basic and the bathroom facilities are minimal sizes too. There was one hand towel provided by the washbasin. The paper towel supply was empty.

Bisschen kalt war es. Sofort Heizung anschalten wenn man ankommt.

It's a convenient base for visiting the lake the following morning. Bonus: the night sky in Fairlie is incredible.
