Gili Asahan Eco Lodge & Restaurant

Perfect spot to enjoy doing very little for a few days. Staff are great, really engaging. Easy to walk around the island. We never expected to be eating pizza here but that was great too!

We have spent three weeks in Bali and Lombok, Eco Lodge was by far our favourite. It’s a dream location away from the traffic and madness of the main islands and a leap away from the main Gilis. We stayed in one of their island lodges, an open thatched lodge surrounded by greenery and pretty much on the beach. Waking up to the sound of waves and birds is very much missed since leaving. The food and staff were also amazing, great breakfasts, great coffee and a large selection of Italian dishes. The island is also surrounded by coral right off the beach, it is full of life too. We saw huge blue starfish, clown fish, sea horse, Mantis Shrimp and so much more just a few yards from the restaurant at Eco Lodge. We added an extra night as soon as we arrived and could have stayed for the entire trip.

Le lodge est exceptionnel ! Le personnel est très sympathique, serviable et souriant. Le restaurant italien est excellent. Nous avons très bien dormi dans le bale sur la plage , le lit est équipée d’une bonne moustiquaire (0piqure lors de notre séjour). Les activités gratuites sont un vrai plus (kayak, matériel de snorkelling, paddle,...) Un vrai petit coin de paradis 🥰

Leider sind die Bettlaken immer wieder dreckig gewesen mit Flecken genauso wie der Moskito Schutz hatte sehr viele große Flecken

La pace che provi 24h su 24. Inoltre tutto lo staff è stato super accogliente e gentile, pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta. Ti fanno sentire in un vero e proprio paradiso!!

Ambiance extraordinaire, personnel adorable ! Un séjour idyllique sur une île presque déserte !

Das Personal war wirklich unfassbar freundlich. Vom herzlichen Empfang bis zum Abschied. Ida von Restaurant war ein wahrer Sonnenschein, selten hatten wir einen so guten Service. Auch die anderen Angestellten hatten immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht und taten alles um ihren Gästen einen tollen Aufenthalt zu bieten. Das Essen war sehr köstlich und lecker, wir waren fast nur im Nautilus Restaurant und können alles sehr empfehlen. Vom Frühstück, Lunch und Abendessen alles war ein Gedicht. Die Zimmer wurden täglich gereinigt und auch hier war das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Schnorchelausflug zu den umliegenden Inseln war auch sehr schön, es wurde sogar kostenlos mit gefilmt, das war Weltklasse. Auch die Massage war ein Highlight! Wir wurden noch nie so gut massiert wie dort. Der Strand war sauber, es gab Kajaks und Standup Paddle kostenfrei für Hotelgäste. Auch gab es Strandtücher und Liegen. Sehr tolle Unterkunft.

Man sollte erwähnen das es nur kaltes Salzwasser zum Duschen aus der Leitung gibt, auch stank das Wasser ganz fürchterlich die ersten fünf Minuten nach dem anschalten der Dusche. Die Zimmer sind schon etwas abgewohnt. Es ist auch an den Seiten alles offen. Die Moskitonetzte sollten zeitnah erneut werden.

Struttura fantastica immersa nella natura, spero che la sua anima e quella dell’isola non cambi negli anni. Personale estremamente gentile e disponibile.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet hôtel, il se situe sur une île isolé et calme, il n’y a personne sur les plages donc il est facile de trouver un petit endroit sympa pour se poser sans vis à vis sur la plage !! L’équipe est adorable, tres gentille, souriante et à l’écoute à la moindre question !! Pleins d’activités sont possibles comme du snorkeling, paddle, kayak, rester avec les chevaux lors de leur balade, yoga et autre. C’est un lieu très apaisant qui est très calme !! La chambre est vraiment jolie !! Nous le recommandons avec plaisir et nous y retournerons !! 🥰

Le cadre est paradisiaque. L hôtel a mis en place la gestion des déchets avec le village voisin, ce qui évite les problèmes d ordure qu on voit malheureusement souvent à Lombok.

Le confort est basique (l un des couchages était installé sur le canapé extérieur). Le restaurant sert une nourriture italienne. Dommage d importer de la San Pellegrino et de la mozzarella, pas très cohérent avec le lieu ni avec la démarche écologique de l hôtel)

We booked a room with three beds. When we arrived, we discovered that the third bed was actually located outside on the terrace. This is not clear from the information on the website, and I believe guests should be made aware of this before booking. The same applies to the lack of hot water in the rooms. How are guests supposed to know this in advance? I absolutely love the idea of an eco-lodge and I fully support the concept of living closer to nature. However, with a simple solar panel, you can remain eco-friendly while still providing basic services and comfort to your guests. I also really like the idea of keeping the experience wild and authentic, but at the same time, if certain services are not provided, the price should be fair and reflect what is actually offered. Finally, we chose this place mainly because of the wild horses, as they are strongly featured in the promotion of the property. However, once we arrived, we discovered that the horses are not actually free on the beach, and the only way to interact with them is through a paid activity. In reality, it feels more like a stable than the experience of seeing wild horses freely roaming around. Overall, I love the concept and the setting, but I believe the website should be much clearer about what guests can actually expect, so that the experience matches the expectations created by the advertising.

Before arriving, we knew that the lodge did not have air conditioning, which was fine with us. However, the lodge was built with a lot of openings, allowing geckos and birds to get inside at night. Unfortunately, they frequently made noise and woke us up, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Petite île paradisiaque ! L’eco lodge est magnifique, très propre , cuisine excellente . Le personnel est toujours aimable et souriant , ça a été un bonheur d’y séjourner 3 nuits dans un Bâlé avec un charme hors du commun. On recommande à 100%!

Wir haben als 4-köpfige Familie vier wunderschöne Nächte in der Eco Loge verbracht. Die Lage unserer Unterkunft "Lumbung" war direkt am Meer, von wo aus wir auf der eigenen Terrasse die Sonnenuntergänge genossen haben. Uns hat hat die offene und authentische Bauweise sehr gefallen. Anstelle einer Klimaanlage hatten wir pro Zimmer einen Ventilator. War sehr angenehm zum Schlafen. Das Personal im allgemeinen und speziell die Restaurantmitarbeiter/innen waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen im Nautilus war ebenfalls sehr gut. Gilli Asahan ist wirklich eine Reise wert. Traumhafte Strände, abwechslungsreiche Aktivitäten und kein Verkehr. Wer vorher auf Bali unterwegs war und dem hektischen und lärmigen Treiben entfliehen will, dem können wir den Insel wärmstens empfehlen.

Op basis van plaatjes en andere ervaringen keek ik erg uit naar dit stukje van onze vakantie. En het heeft mijn verwachtingen overtroffen. Het was zo'n fijne plek: eco en luxe. Ik had verwacht dat we het eiland zouden gaan verkennen, in plaats daarvan zijn we heerlijk tot rust gekomen aan het water en bij ons prachtige huisje waarvandaan je zo naar het strandje loopt. Heerlijk gezwommen, gesnorkeld en gegeten. Goede massage gehad.

Er viel eigenlijk niets tegen. Goede om te weten is dat het water van de douche koud is. De paarden lopen naast het resort en komen tijdens de lunch even langs. Helaas was er bij ons bezoek geen yoga of paardenactiviteit.

The food was excellent - really fresh, beautifully prepared, tasty. The staff were brilliant, always ready to help in whatever way they could. the lodge was very well built with consideration for the environment. The grounds were well planted with mature trees. The best was that they encouraged looking after the environment with reducing unnecessary washing of towels and had fans in the rooms rather than air conditioning. They were also clearly taking great pains to look after the coral reefs surrounding the area with a suggestion to not use fins when snorkelling which I thought was particularly good, and which was easy to abide by. Visibility was good and the reef was just off-shore. There was very little current if any so fins were not needed at all. Taking care not to damage the reef is important and even for experienced snorkelers, hitting the reef with fins is an easy mistake, so it is so much better to remove that potential damage altogether by not wearing them in the first place. Fantastic idea, please keep it up! I also liked the fact that the company supported the local school and did not worry about having to use de-salinated water. Slightly salty water for day to day basics is absolutely fine and again gives strength to the company's aim of protecting the environment - these are actions rather than just words. I will be recommending this lodge because of all the firm actions they take about having as little a negative impact on the environment as possible and for making our stay so wonderful.

Es un lugar PRECIOSO, con todo lujo de detalles. Las cabañas espectaculares y bien equipadas, la Comida del restaurante espectacular, la tienda es una monada con precios justos, los masajes que probamos muy buenos. El personal siempre atento con todo, nos ayudó en todo lo que necesitamos. Siempre disponible. Ojalá pudiéramos volver pronto. Nos encantó.

Debería no estar permitido jugar con pelotas duras en la playa o en puntos donde otras personas buscan tomar el sol o descansar. Las pelotas se escapaban y nos golpeaban, o había gritos en un entorno tan relajado. Entendemos que los familiares al cargo del menor son los responsables, pero ya que no hacían nada, tomar este tipo de medidas desde la organización del hotel garantizaría esta tranquilidad.

Rien, vraiment rien !

Wat een perfecte locatie om te ontspannen. Door de hele opzet van de lodge ervaar je echt het eiland gevoel. Wij hadden het huisje Gladak 1, wat wat ons betreft echt de perfecte ligging had. Vanaf je veranda keek je zo over de zee. ‘S ochtends wordt je wakker gezongen door de vogels, waarna je heerlijk kunt ontbijten bij restaurant Nautilus. Echt een ontzettende aanwinst, want heel erg lief personeel en heel goed eten. Zowel het Italiaanse eten als het lokale eten.

Niets - we waren wel verrast dat er zoveel gezinnen verbleven op het resort

Keine Kritik an sich… ABER: es gibt Zimmer mit und ohne Klimaanlage. Bitte drauf achten. Wir hatten ein super Bungalow aber ohne Klima. War toll, aber warm 😂 Außerdem kein Kühlschrank und kein Room Service. Damit ist die Terrasse nicht so arg viel wert, da man nichts kühles trinken kann… Da eco retreat, verstehe ich es absolut, dass es keinen Kühlschrank gibt… Aber dann sollte das Hotel bitte room Service anbieten für Getränke. Das wäre ein Verbesserungsvorschlag

We had a wonderful stay at Gili Asahan Eco Lodge. It was our first experience staying in a bale and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the whole team made us feel welcome. Everything was clearly explained and the shuttle service to the island was smooth and well organised. Sleeping in a bale was such a unique experience. We were a little apprehensive at first but it quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. The mosquito net was excellent and we weren’t bothered by mosquitoes at all, even when sitting outside the net in the evening. The temperature at night was perfect and there was a small fan if needed. We loved the warm atmosphere created by the soft lighting at night. The bathroom was beautiful and the bed was extremely comfortable, with thoughtful touches like power outlets and convenient storage. The breakfasts were delicious and we also tried the Italian restaurant, which was excellent. The little shop is lovely too. The kayaks included were a fantastic bonus. Paddling to the nearby island was such a memorable experience. We walked all around the island and in our opinion no other place has the same charm as the Eco Lodge. The overall atmosphere is simply magical with breathtaking sunsets, beautiful horses and peaceful surroundings. It is the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature. A big thank you to the entire team for their kindness and hospitality. We loved discovering the eco-lodge lifestyle and the philosophy behind it. This was a truly unforgettable experience and we would happily come back.

Moi qui voyage aux quatre coins du monde, j'ai un faible absolu pour ce genre d'établissement engagé. Mais ici, c'est le coup de cœur total. L'Eco Lodge d'Asahan est un havre de paix d’une propreté impeccable, magnifiquement entretenu, où l’on adopte immédiatement la démarche écoresponsable. Le calme y est absolu, le confort exceptionnel, et l'accueil d’un service irréprochable. Le personnel est non seulement d'une grande compétence, mais aussi d’une gentillesse et d’une serviabilité extrêmes. ​Le vrai plus ? L’océan qui vous tend les bras à seulement quelques mètres de votre lit, et des réveils sublimés par un petit-déjeuner tout simplement délicieux. ​Quant au restaurant... une pure merveille ! C’est toute l'Italie qui s'invite dans l’assiette avec une élégance rare. Habitant à Monaco, je peux vous dire que j'y ai retrouvé avec un immense bonheur cette touche italienne si authentique et raffinée. Une adresse inoubliable. Merci à toute l équipe....

Amazing location. This place is like a sanctuary, everything is beautiful and they are making a genuine effort to look after their local environment. The resturant with the table overlooking the beach was just beautiful. Fabulous snorkelling, relaxing atmosphere, fantastic food and we even organised for a boat to take us out to Desert Point to surf.

The bungalows are charming and thoughtfully designed — quality mattresses, and a unique open-air bathroom at the back with complete privacy but fully connected to nature. Every detail uses reclaimed local materials: driftwood, shells, repurposed timber. You feel the eco mission in every corner without it ever feeling too rustic or uncomfortable. The food at Nautilus genuinely surprised us. The Italian-Indonesian fusion is brilliantly executed. We never felt the need to eat elsewhere. Breakfast was delicious. Every single staff member — reception, restaurant, snorkeling tours — was exceptional. The range of activities is remarkable and everything feels perfectly integrated into the eco philosophy. The yoga shala and hilltop viewpoints are incredible for sunrise and sunset. A true hidden gem.

Hot water would be a welcome addition. Breakfast could benefit from more protein options and a wider spread selection — peanut butter, jam, flavoured butter. A small gym would be the cherry on top.

The most beautiful, unique place in one of the most beautiful islands. We absolutely loved our stay here. We stayed in the Yoga Room was which was large and private. The food is absolutely incredible and some of the best Italian food we’ve eaten outside of Italy. What truly makes this place special is the staff. Every person we met was so happy and generous. Always going out of their way to help with the biggest smile. We had a massage at the spa which was incredible and we did a sunset boat tour which I’d highly recommend! The island is small so the perfect place to switch off and relax. We will be back!

Loved the location. The natural shabby chic ambience of the resort really was ideal for the small island and the eco friendly aspect is appreciated. Swimming and snorkelling right off the shore and the resortation of the coral is really superb.

Room was very comfortable but the bracken water in the shower can be challenging.

Un endroit parfait pour se ressourcer. Pas grand chose à faire sur cette île hormis du canoé et du snorkeling et c'était parfait. Le restaurant est parfait et le petit déjeuner à prendre absolument au bord de l'eau.

Rien à voir avec l'hôtel, mais la plage n'est pas très propre (beaucoup de plastique qui flotte dans l'eau et sur le sable), vraiment dommâge pour ce magnifique emplacement.

Rakastimme kaikkea Eco Lodgella! Jokainen henkilökunnan jäsen oli äärimmäisen ystävällinen ja vastaanottavainen saarelle saapumisesta lähtöhetkeen asti, tunnelma oli rento ja iloinen. Vietimme siistissä ja suojaisassa Balessa neljä yötä, aamuisin saimme herätä lintujen yhteislauluun. Ruoka Eco Lodgella oli myös erittäin hyvää. Snorklausretki oli upea ja retken vetäjä sekä venekuski tekivät kaikkensa jotta kokemus oli paras mahdollinen. Aamukävely saaren ponien kanssa oli ihanan rauhallinen ja hieronta rentoutti vartalon sekä mielen matkustamisen jäljiltä. Ranta on erittäin kaunis ja saaren ympäri on helppo kävellä (laskuveden aikaan). Lainaamalla kajakin pääsee helposti tutkimaan lähialueita myös itse lisää. Eco Lodge ylitti odotuksemme reilusti, kiitos ihanasta ajasta siellä!

The whole resort was just incredible from the first step when we came off the boat. We also walked with the horses which a beautiful experience 😍

De rust en de vogeltjes als je smorgens wakker wordt. Heerlijk! Je loopt zo het strand op en spingt in de zee om te snorkelen. Personeel is heel behulpzaam.

Unfassbar schöne Schnorcheltour mit großartigem Guide! Elda und ihre rechte Hand sind Herz und Seele der Unterkunft! Sie sind immer ansprechbar, freundlich, unglaublich zuvorkommend und wünschen sich von Herzen, dass sich alle wohlfühlen und ihren Aufenthalt genießen können! Die Beiden haben uns sowohl bei der Ankunft, als auch bei der Abfahrt persönlich, mit lieben Worten, am Boot empfangen und verabschiedet! Ida, vom Restaurantteam, war unsere persönliche gute Fee und kümmerte sich von Herzen um unser Wohlbefinden! Das ganze Team des Restaurants, war unglaublich schnell, immer zum Spaßen aufgelegt und unfassbar herzlich. Besonders schätzten wir, dass die Lodge, durch ihr gesamtes Team, eine herzliche, persönliche und familiäre Atmosphäre verbreitet. Die zahlreichen Tiere, die beobachtet werden können, waren uns eine große Freude! Wir wünschen dem gesamten Team alles erdenklich Gute! Vielen Dank für alles! :)

It is a small paradise remotely located. If you need peace and quiet, this is the place. Tasty food and amazing staff! I stayed both in the Bale and in the Bungalow as I extended my stay. It is really lovely and away from the crowded and touristic places.

A little bit complicated to get there and you end up spending a little in transport. Although it is beautiful, I found it a little expensive overall.

Alors nous avons été bien déçus: premièrement on trouve que le rapport qualité/ prix est mauvais car il n’y a pas de wifi dans les chambres, pas d’eau chaude, pas de sèche cheveux, pas de Clim juste un ventilo mais qui n’est pas suffisant, ce n’est pas des « vrais » murs donc vu que c’est ouvert on a été envahi par des moustiques et à peine on sortait de notre lit ( qui a une moustiquaire) on se faisait piquer ( on s’est jamais autant fait piquer) donc impossible de chercher dans nos affaires. Le petit déjeuner est compris mais pas de jus juste café et thé et pour quelqu’un qui ne boit aucun des 2 c’est compliqué et il fallait payer un extra sachant que la chambre coûte déjà chère (125€/nuit). On parle d’écologie mais bon lorsqu’on voit la carte du restaurant il y a tellement de choix ( ce sont des plat congelé) qu’on se demande aussi niveau énergie …On a été vraiment étonné car il est très bien noté sur booking mais vraiment nous rejoindrons pas les autres avis, peut être c’est parce qu’on a fait tellement d’hôtel en Indonésie qu’on a vu les tranches de prix et qu’on trouve que pour ce que c’est c’est vraiment cher. D’ailleurs on a passé à côté d’un hôtel avec des chambres climatisé, piscine privé, wifi etc et on aurait bien aimé séjourner là-bas. On aurait dû mieux lire les équipements avant de réserver.

Vi bodde i Bungalow 1. Fräscht badrum och bekväm säng. Bra förvaringsmöjligheter och upphängning för kläder. Bra läge nära snorkling och lokala byn där den enda Warungen med lokal mat fanns. Smidig transport till och från ön samt att vi fick hjälp att boka taxi till nästa resmål. Gratis uthyrning av snorkelutrustning.

Frukosten var väldigt liten och smaklös, och kaffet serverades med halv kopp. Personalen satt ofta med sina mobiler och var inte så uppmärksam. Flera små saker som inte fungerade i rummet så som eluttag som var helt söndriga, AC och luftfuktare som pep konstant. Dock åtgärdades dessa brister när vi påtalade dem. Ganska dålig belysning i rummet samt på området. De erbjuder gratis uthyrning av kayaker, men dessa var paxade alla dagar varför vi inte fick chansen att använda dem under vår vistelse. Man kunde inte fylla på sin vattenflaska själv utan var tvungen att be om det varje gång. Vi hade förväntat oss en mycket högre standard generellt med tanke på det mycket höga priset.

Gili Asahan Eco Lodge is one of the best experience we ever had traveling around. Heartwarming people, welcoming us in the most loveliest and friendliest way, the ressort is so pretty, feels like living in the jungle. We stayed at one of the cottages, with AC, an Outdoor bathroom, comfortable bed with a mosquito net, we just loved everything about it. The beach and sea are right in front of you, snorkeling was beautiful, so many healthy and colorful corals, small and big fish, sea stars in every size - breathtaking. The associated restaurant Nautilus has the best food, yummy fruit juices, healthy and delicious breakfast, if it’s eggs in every style, chia bowl, pancakes, you get everything. And the staff - we feel very lucky to have met so lovely people, with the biggest hearts, hard working, making your stay even more special. Thanks to all of you guys and especially Mia - you made the whole stay from the check in process to the check out process so smooth 💛 and the massages, wow wow wow, we booked the 1-Hour Relaxing Lombok Style Massage - best 🙌🏻 my husband did it twice and the horse walk - we did the 30 minutes horse walk on the beach - it was magical, breathtaking and a very special experience 🫶🏻 we can’t recommend the Gili Asahan Eco Lodge enough - if you ever come to Lombok, take the extra mile to visit Gili Asahan, the loveliest people, the most welcoming place - it felt like home away from home 💛💛 and please support the Kids of Gili Asahan, this beautiful island deserves every little help 🙏🏼

Wat een prachtige rustige plek. Comfort in de natuur. Yoga op de hoogste heuvel van het eilandje. Eco beleid van hotel, top! Upgrade huisje vanwege verbouwing. Geweldig!

Niet iets opmerkelijk.

Willkommen im Paradies. Von der persönlichen Begrüßung bei der Ankunft bis hin zum Service am Strand (kostenlose Schnorchel/Flossen/SUP/Kajaks), sowie unserem schönen Bale (offenes Schlafzimmer im Freien- umgeben von Bambusrollos mit einer schönen Sitzecke) inklusive privatem Badezimmer hat man ein Gefühl wie im Paradies. Dazu ein Restaurant auch mit guter italienischer Küche. Auch wenn die offene wohnweise nicht jedermanns Geschmack ist , uns hat es super toll gefallen.🥰 Glamping auf einer kleinen Insel.

Das offene Zimmer ohne Wände im Freien hat uns sehr gefallen und wir haben gleich um zwei weitere Nächte verlängert. Schöne Strände, super Liegeplätze zwischen den schattenspendenen Mangrovenbäumen und super Küche. Alles sehr unkompliziert und einfach gehalten. Ein Traum.

C’etait juste EXCEPTIONNEL ! J’ai beaucoup voyagé et je n’avais encore jamais eu la chance de découvrir un endroit comme celui-ci !! Je vous laisse découvrir par vous même ! Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés Et merci à l’équipe super sympa !!

Es war einfach ein Traum. Der perfekte Ort zum Abschalten. Ich hatte die Bale1 und hab mich dort mitten in der Natur so wohl und dennoch sicher gefühlt (auch bei Regen und Gewitter) und es war trotzdem sehr komfortabel. Alles toll durchdacht und liebevoll! Es hätte nicht besser sein können: Die gemütlichen großen Liegen inkl. Bedienung direkt am Schnorchelstrand (keinen Wellen!) mit wunderschöner Unterwasserwelt, die schönen Yogastunden in der Shala oben auf dem Berg mit tollster Aussicht, entspanntes und gemütliches Restaurant mit leckerem Essen ... Ich habe dennoch einen Schnorcheltrip gebucht, um noch mehr zu sehen (u.a. Schildkröten) - sehr empfehlenswert! Die Pferde waren leider nur im Stall, aber mir haben sie letztendlich nicht gefehlt, dafür gab es Ziegen :)

De ligging in de omgeving en om mooi te snorkelen

Veel duizendpoot achtige beesten tot en met in het douche gedeelte, op de wasbak bij je spullen 😩
