Clean, friendly owners, close to amenities & value for an overnight stay.

Heating was ok however we had an elderly lady with us and she found it a bit cool for her liking, however we did ask for an extra heater to keep her warm when showering and also to help heat the lounge kitchen area.

Noisy little fan heater - proper heating required for winter.

The owners are aware that the motel is old and requires updating. However our only real concern was that there is a 9-12 inch step into the shower and that there are no handles to help getting in or out. Once in the shower there was nothing to hang onto at all. The soap dish was rather primitive and past its use by date. There should be no reason at all why a couple of handles could not be installed at a very low cost. Both were in their eighties with one at 88. Shower safety is very important at these ages and cannot be compromised.

Everything, the host was amazing and very friendly. Perfect location aswell.

Bit dated but exceptionally clean and nice and comfy. Had a fantastic time, walked everywhere once had arrived. Friendly owner very nice. We are already organising our next girls weekend away and are definitely staying there again next time

The location was excellent, the unit was perfect, couldn't be faulted. And for a small charge a nice, cooked breakfast supplied.

Great location.Super friendly staff at check-in Walk to shops just outside. Spotlessly clean throughout. Even though it is an older style motel, it has been very well maintained and is most comfortable in every aspect.

Unit is a bit tired and could do with a refurbishment, especially the bathroom. Not much room in the shower and the water pressure was a bit low. Didn't like the extra charge for motel having to wash your used dishes.

The location was good and convenient.

The staff were very rude, judgemental, and made us feel uncomfortable from the start. We simply asked about adding an extra person to the room, and the staff member immediately became negative and started making assumptions. He went on about not wanting “workers” coming in and out at 4am, drinking, or having after-parties, which was not the situation at all. It felt very disrespectful and unwelcoming. He also made unnecessary comments about how we should use the room, like how to sleep and not sitting on couches, which felt over the top and uncomfortable.

Classic nz motel. Friendly owners, we were greeted warmly on arrival, and lovely to chat with during the stay. Family friendly with great fun at the pool area. Comfortable units that were perfect to relax in after a busy day outside.

Wifi. Not applicable in this case, but if had been working remotely for some of the trip I'm not sure if this would have been adequate

Classic Kiwi motel, a little dated in decor, kitchen and bathroom fittings but it seems owners are aware and making steps. Wi-Fi effective, tv with full Sky very good if a little tricky to use initially I

Such nice owners. Very helpful! Very clean. Perfect location. Walked to boat excursion, restaurants and park//boardwalk. Everything we needed!

Vert convenient for beach, wharf and town, easy to get to shops and bars. We did not need to use the car at all. We appreciated the table outside and that the staff gave put up a sun umbrella for us.

Although the description stated our unit had a street view we didn’t realise it would open directly onto the Main Street with resulting lack of privacy.

The motel had everything we needed and it was so close to the shops. The swimming pool was the highlighted for our girls. The owners were also so nice and helpful.

On a été surpris par l'établissement. En effet construit en 1973 il reste dans les standards de l'époque et du coup offre un petit dépaysement. Malgré la proximité de la route, très calme. Propre et les propriétaires très sympas. A proximité de tout.

La climatisation ne fonctionnait pas et la propriétaire nous l'avait mentionné avant notre arrivée. Mais pas grave c'est bien ventilé.

Location is right in town centre and easy to walk to most places in town. The bed was super comfy and the room was warm with a heater available The staff were very friendly and great at communication and their cleaning and restocking of the complimentary drinks and towels

The water pressure in the shower was a little low

Very central, comfortable motel in Whanganui. Great value for money, almost direct sea access, incredibly friendly and proactive hosts who take the time to engage with guests and advise on the area. Would definitely stay here again!

There are no individual washing machines or aircon, but this is a minor to non-issue.

Location was perfect being so central in Whiti! Super convenient.

Whilst it was clean and tidy, it is overpriced for a Motel considering what you get. The facilities are a bit old and run down and there is no air conditioning. We only needed it for a place to sleep & clean up but struggled to sleep because of the heat and no aircon.

Location is superb - close to the beach, all amenities etc. Lovely owners who were personable and welcoming. Room was 'old-school' NZ motel which suited our needs. Very clean and tidy. The BBQ was a great!

Some elements are a little tired. The kitchen and bathrooms could do with an uplift. Both were clean and serviceable, just a bit worn. Couches are a bit dated/worn.

Clean, convenient location

The staff are very helpful and the place is clean. We particularly like that the room is being serviced each day for the 3 nights that we stayed there. Lots of TV channels to chose from, which was helpful when we had to stay in due to bad weather. They even collected our laundry from the clothesline and placed them in our unit one day when we returned very late. Great experience.

The bed is a bit too soft for me, but was able to sleep well and had no back issues after each night. So all good.

Very centrally located and exceptionally friendly owners. The property is very well maintained, peaceful. Any requests we had were accommodated and met swiftly. We hope we could spend a few more days at the property.
