The Jini House

Kamer super mooi en schoon kregen een upgrade omdat we de enige waren en de eerste die in het laag seizoen geboekt hadden, goed contact en reageerde snel. Ontbijt was goed echt veel keuze en iedereen heel lief en aardig Houdt rekening mee met laagseizoen kan beschikbaarheid veranderen, met name eettenten zijn in de buurt dicht en ook bij accommodatie zelf was een beetje onduidelijk met evt. lunchen / avondeten. Maar al met al gaven ze ook nog leuke plekken waar je wel kunt eten die wel open waren dus das fijn 😊 ze denken graag met je mee

Personal war sehr lieb und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sehr stilvoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer. Es gibt rein gar nichts zu bemängeln - nur zum schwärmen wie zum Beispiel das sehr leckere und liebevoll zubereitete Frühstück. Jeden Cent wert! Würde ich jederzeit wieder buchen und auch jedem weiter empfehlen.

Incredible value for money and attentive staff

Het ligt op een heerlijke rustige plek en toch dichtbij het strand. De medewerker verzorgen je heel goed. Lekker ontbijt met voldoende keuzes.

Persoonlijk vond ik de steentjes bij de douche niet fijn.

The manager/owner and staff were lovely. They did everything they could to help us and make our stay comfortable. We had food poisoning and they went out to get us local medicine and it worked! Unique decor, lovely swimming pool for dip after day at beach and fantastic location - on a quiet street but 10 mins from Kabalana Beach (which is the best beach). Short tuk tuk to Ahagamana (we always used the manager's father-in-law!)

No fridge in room (although you could leave your drinks in the restaurant one)

Fantastic value for money! Thejini House is in a great location—quiet enough for a good night's sleep but close enough to get to all the local spots easily. The breakfast was delicious and the Wi-Fi was reliable. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip.

This was our last accommodation, out of all 6 - this was our favorite and the most beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner spoke good English and was very helpful. We had two rooms and both really beautiful. Extremely clean and with wonderful bathrooms. The most comfortable and pleasant bedding and pillows. The pool was very well maintained. The breakfast was very plentiful. I absolutely recommend it if you want a pleasant, safe, aesthetically beautiful and very clean accommodation. The location seemed very tidy and safe. Kabalana beach very close.

Beautiful room interiors, wildlife to observe behind the hotel, yoga mats provided, delicious food, took our eating habits into account.

Showers were poorly cleaned. There was trash between the pebbles and hair on the walls. The room with the bathtub had a bad smell from humidity.

Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Besitzer waren unglaublich herzlich und aufmerksam, sodass wir uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt haben. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das Frühstück – es war nicht nur sehr lecker, sondern auch abwechslungsreich und liebevoll zubereitet. Die Lage war für uns perfekt: ruhig, entspannt und gleichzeitig ganz nah am Kabalana Beach, an dem man hervorragend surfen kann. Wir können dieses Hotel wirklich zu 100 % weiterempfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Het hotel ligt niet aan de drukke straat hierdoor kan je genieten van een beetje rust. Je pakt een tuktuk en ben zo in het drukkere gedeelte. Het ligt dichtbij te strand. De eigenaren staan altijd voor je klaar. Op mijn laatste dag werd ik ziek. Ze kwamen eten brengen naar mijn kamer en hebben super goed voor mij gezorgd.

We really loved the location and street the hotel is on. Close to yoga, cafes and Kabalana beach. Definitely glad we stayed in Kabalana and not the main Ahangama town area. The rooms were generous and comfortable. Breakfasts were some of the best we had - loved the yogurt and fresh fruit and iced coffees every morning. Owners were friendly and easy to deal with

Hot water was at times hard to regulate Noise could be a problem if other guests aren’t mindful, we didn’t have a problem during our stay but I do think the pool needs to have a closing time as rooms are so close to the pool with glass frontages

Wunderschöne, liebevoll geführte Unterkunft. Unser Zimmer war vollkommen ausreichend und sehr sauber. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Team ist sehr lieb und aufmerksam. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, abwechslungsreich und ausreichend.

La struttura è molto accogliente, la camera è spaziosa, pulita e profumata. Colazione e cena molto buone. La gestione è a conduzione familiare e sono tutti gentilissimi e molto disponibili. C’è la possibilità di affittare i motorini da loro che è il modo più comodo per girare e spostarsi tra le spiagge. Ci hanno anche aiutato a organizzare il tour per vedere le balene ed è stato fantastico, ne abbiamo vista una vicinissima! Assolutamente consigliato!

Unico neo è la colazione un po’ tardi, dalle 8.30 alle 11.00. Ma c’è la possibilità di organizzarla un po’ prima su richiesta

The facilities were truly beautiful and very clean, the staff was amazing, and the breakfast was excellent. There was a pool right in front of our room and the location was just perfect. We couldn’t have asked for more!

Jini and her family are super friendly. They are always there for you to help with whatever you might need. You can rent a scooter directly with them or otherwise, they are happy to organize you a TukTuk. The room is pretty and spacious and cleaned every second day. Breakfast is quite big, although it can get a bit repetitive on longer stays.

It would be great to have more “common area” to chill or read a book; the couple of sunbeds that are there appear to be for 1 room only as it is directly on the entrance to the room. A toilet/shower on the common area would also be great to rinse after a surf session before going into the room.

Ruhige Lage, nur 9 Zimmer und sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Das Zimmer war groß und mit einem bequemen Bett ausgestattet. Der Pool lädt zur Abkühlung ein und im kleinen Restaurant kann man sich mit Speis und Trank stärken. Im Essbereich steht ein Kühlschrank, worin für die Gäste ein Fach zur Aufbewahrung persönlicher Sachen zur Verfügung steht. Vor dem Hotel sind immer Tuk Tuks. Man kann sich auch einen Roller ausleihen.

Very helpfull family, clean room and very nice breakfast. Also the food was great especially the grilled fish! Try it! ;)

Nothing to mention

This was like home away from home! We are so grateful for not only the beautiful room and common areas like pool, restaurant and rooftop, but especially also for the hospitality - the Sri Lankan family that runs this place took care of us beyond expectations. The mother cooked healthy soup when I fell sick, we were allowed to shower before our late flight and we received quick help with every question that came up during our week's stay (trip recommendations, scooter rent, laundry service, surf school,...). Book this now if you get the chance. You will not regret it :)

Nothing to complain at all!

The rooms were clean, and gave a tropical vibe. The host was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The host became our goto person for our stay, because they suggested sites, beaches, locations and even arranged a bike for us for transportation. I will choose to stay in Jini's house during my next visit.

Been there for the second time and will definitely come back again! I really appreciate warm welcome, huge breakfast, everything is clean, cozy and you really feel like home. Location is great, because it is close to the beach but in quiet area at the same time, and you can easily hop on a bike and go to the center. The owner is super helpful (and the whole family is just sweet), they rented me a bike and even arranged the drive back to my hotel. Thank you and see you next time!

El hotel lo gestiona una familia encantadora, no hemos podido estar más agusto aquí! Las habitaciones son súper bonitas y limpias y la comida deliciosa. Hemos pasado por varios alojamientos pero sin duda, volveríamos aquí!

Our stay in Jini House was perfect. The family owning the place is really carrying and genuinely here to assist. The hotel is perfectly located : far from the noise but walking distance to the first restaurants or only 10 minutes from the city center by Tuktuk. The breakfast is homemade and with love. The room is clean. WiFi works very well. They have Tuktuk on stand by and can offer transportation from/to airport for a very good rate. I recommend this hotel ! Probably the best price-quality ratio we had during our entire holiday. The room was amazing, so comfortable and exactly what we needed at the moment. It is close to the beach and walking distance from many nice restaurants. The people are so kind and willing to help!

Het was een heerlijk lichte, ruime, moderne kamer. Er waren prettig veel mogelijkheden om je spullen op te bergen. De badkamer is een belevenis op zich met kiezels op de vloer, erg leuk gedaan. Je loopt gemakkelijk naar restaurantjes en het strand. Een tuktuk is ook zo geregeld en ook vervoer per chauffeur naar een andere lokatie regelen de buitengewoon vriendelijke eigenaren voor je. Het gaat heel gemoedelijk. Het is een gebouw met 9 kamers, perfect. Dikke aanrader. Ook leuk: bij hostel Mellow worden yogalessen gegeven, hier loop je naartoe en je doet mee (mijn les kostte 2500). Ze hebben daar ook fijne vegan opties (oatmilkcappuccino en bananenbrood).

The family who run the place are pure magic. This was by far our best stay. The room is great, really big and specious. The bathroom is really nice as well. The pool is great. Everything was superb. And the personnel, they really make you part of their family. HIGHLY recommend. Everything is great into detail, atmosphere was amazing and wonderful.

EVERYTHING! The best breakfast-included of my entire life and i've travelled almost continuously for the past 6 years. It's a homely feeling with the luxuries of a cute AirBnB. The room, especially the bathrooms, are just so beautiful and photogenic. The breakfast is YUMMY and photogenic. I love the staff, their courtesy, and the service. We ordered some bar snacks so they sent trail mix which was fish-spiced - IT WAS SO GOOOOD

We had a wonderful stay at Jini House. The owners gave us a very warm welcome. The room was comfortable and conveniently located close to the beach. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast twice during our stay. On the day of our departure, the owner helped us with the return of the Tuk Tuk and arranged transportation to the airport. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone!

Great stay. Good breakfast. Lovely staff. The younger brother who is working there is very nice and friendly and makes your stay very pleasant. Good location for Kabalana beach, but long walking distance to the main area (which we did not mind).

Had a great stay at the Jini House for three nights! Her and her family are great hosts and truly care about their guests! If you have the chance to stay with them, don’t hesitate, you’ll be in good hands :)

My stay exceeded my expectations. The room was large, very comfortable and exactly as pictured. Bathroom was spacious and beautifully decorated. AC worked well as did the cieling fan. Bed was very comfortable. The family who owns the property is very kind and gracious. They provided top quality service and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Breakfast was very good and filling. The pool is clean and nice to enjoy after a long day out. The property is only an 8 minute walk or so to Kabalana beach and a 10 minute walk to some good restaurants. Ahangama beach with a larger strip of restaurants is a short tuk tuk ride away.

Great base for exploring Ahangama, set a little way back from the main road. My room was clean and modern, and the staff were friendly. Would happily recommend to a friend.

My partner and I spent one night at the Jini House and we were amazed by the service, the staff and the breakfast! The room was very naturalistic: with stones, ropes, a lot of light and plants. The breakfast was delicious and included a lot of food (eggs of your choice, sourdough bread, muesli, cake, pancakes etc.). It also has a swimming pool and it is positioned in a nice quiet area near the beach. Ideal place if you want to visit Ahanghama, Mirissa, and everything in between. We will definitely be back!

Amazing home stay with kind family, best breakfast on our trip, beautiful room & bathroom and a nice pool to cool down. They also rent bikes and scooters, organise rooftop yoga, do laundry... So you have everything you need in one spot in a nice and quiet location near Kabalana beach.

The decor was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, the location was quiet and peaceful without being remote, and everything was very clean. The included breakfast was also extremely generous (cakes, omelette, juice, coffee, hoppers, all served at once like a big spread).

The place is full of a magical atmosphere among green vegetation, a beautiful and well-maintained pool, very clean and beautiful rooms, delicious, fresh and healthy food and the best breakfast, and above all, Jini and her family are hospitable to guests and happy to help immediately with any matter. Beautiful and stylish interiors, very friendly owners and their crew, clean, peacefully (away from hustle and bustle of Main Street) and awesome pool! Also take the breakfast too! They are delicious.

Really aesthetically pleasing rooms and bathrooms. Beautiful design! The pool area is great. Breakfast was plentiful and really tasty - fruit salad with oats and yoghurt, eggs and toast, Nutella pancakes, fresh fruit juice and tea/coffee. All the staff were wonderful and very accommodating. I really recommend staying here

We loved it here - the location of Kabalana beach is great and much better and less crowded than Ahangama itself, it's a short walk to a great beach as well as excellent food options. The breakfasts and food at Jini House was also great, and we got use out of the pool and loved watching the monkeys play from our balcony. The location is lovely and quiet, perfect for sleeping but a walk or tutkuk will get you anywhere quickly too. The hosts and staff were fantastic, we will be coming back!
