I don't know where to start! We only stayed here for one night, but everything was amazing, starting from the breathtaking view from the restaurant/reception and our room. We walked among the tiefields and it was one of the most memorable walks of our lives. The room was amazing, and I loved journaling from the terrace. We also benefited from the laundry service, which was quick and efficient. We had dinner the same night (the eggplant was amazing). The overall atmosphere was incredible. The hotel also organized a tuktuk for us to reach Lipton Seat's at sunrise.

The highlight was definitely the view — waking up to the beautiful tea plantation scenery was absolutely superb. It made our stay even more memorable. Gorgeous location with stunning views + the grounds of the hotel are lovely; beautiful rooftop space where you can sit and enjoy the view. Rooms were clean and well appointed.

Some of the rooms don't block out sound well at all and you can hear a lot of noise from the nearby dining room, though the staff were very kind in accommodating me when I requested to be moved (as I'm a light sleeper), though this may not always be possible if they're fully booked.

La vu est très jolie mais on s’attendait à plus de confort dans notre logement. La porte de l’appartement se faire uniquement avec un cadena (à prévoir).

La douche n’avait pas du tout de pression et nous n’avions pas de moustiquaire.

The garden is absolutely beautiful, as is the rooftop. Incredible views from the restaurant, garden, balconies and rooftop overlooking the mountains. Delicious sir lankan buffet dinner with plenty of choices and vegetarian options. Building itself is architecturally very nice, and the rooms were very spacious.

We felt the manager quite pushy about booking excursions, activities and onward travel through him whilst we were eating our dinner, which felt quite overwhelming after a long day of travelling. I appreciate that he was trying to be helpful and many guests would benefit from this but we felt slightly pressurised and cornered to do so.

Our stay at Leisure Mount View was amazing from start to finish. The mountain view was beautiful, especially in the morning. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of local flavours. One of the highlights was the cooking class. It was a fun and hands-on experience where we learned to prepare traditional Sri Lankan dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It was not only enjoyable but also gave us a better understanding of sustainable cooking and local culture. The staff were warm, friendly, and always ready to help, making us feel at home. I had a wonderful stay at Leisure Mount View in Haputale. The greatest highlight is the extraordinary view directly from the hotel rooms. In the foreground, you can see the beautiful green tea plantations, while far in the distance the landscape opens up across southern Sri Lanka. The view is truly breathtaking, especially in the morning, and creates a peaceful and unforgettable atmosphere. This is an excellent place to stay if you want to experience the natural beauty of Sri Lanka’s hill country. Highly recommended!

Food and beverage not available during our stay, which is bit annoying as there were no restaurants nor shops nearby, had to walk a bit to find one.

A Truly Memorable Stay in Haputale Leisure Mount View exceeded all our expectations. The rooms are modern, spacious, and beautifully designed, with breathtaking mountain views from the balcony. Everything was spotless, and the peaceful atmosphere made it hard to leave. The highlight of our stay was the hospitality. Hashan, the manager, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us great recommendations for exploring Haputale. The cooking class was a fantastic experience and one of the most authentic activities we did in Sri Lanka. Learning to prepare traditional Sri Lankan dishes with fresh ingredients from the garden was both fun and unforgettable. The evening dinner buffet was amazing, with a wide variety of delicious local dishes full of authentic flavours. And the coffee... without a doubt, it was the best coffee we tasted in Sri Lanka. The breakfast is an absolute must-try. Fresh, generous, beautifully presented, and served with spectacular mountain views.it was the perfect way to start each day. Only a few minutes from Haputale town, this sustainable property combines comfort, nature, outstanding food, and genuine Sri Lankan hospitality. We highly recommend Leisure Mount View and can't wait to return.

When the hotel is full the dining room did not have enough tables, so we were seated in a corridor.

Wir hatten ein unglaubliches Panoramazimmer mit Fenster zu 2 verschiedenen Seiten. Auch wenn es bei unserer Ankunft geregnet und gewittert hat : ein life Panorama-thunderstorm vom Feinsten! Wir brauchten kein anderes Abendprogramm. Am Morgen dann der vielbesungene Panoramablick ! Dad Zimmer war wundervoll warm und bisher die einzige Unterkunft auf dem Pekoetrail, die nicht klamm war !

Stunning location on top of the hill overlooking the tea fields below and the valleys below those. We were kindly upgraded to a roof top suite with room-wide windows leading out onto a roof terrace. The views literally make this place. Service was good and the room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was the prayer calls from a nearby mosque being noisy late evening and VERY early morning, but the accommodation owners can’t help this. Also the town is a bit run down and chaotic, but again not the property’s fault. We were given a gift as we checked out and heard how the owner was busy cooking for local elderly people and monks as a gesture to mark the anniversary of his father’s death. Extremely kind, helpful and selfless people. Thanks for the stay!

Noise from prayer calls a few cockroaches found their way into the room.

Das Schauspiel des Wetters auf der Bühne der Landschaft… Die Aussicht ist unbeschreiblich. Das Zimmer sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet (das oberste Zimmer ist eines der schönsten, die wir je hatten). Ein fantastisch bunter und gepflegter Garten gehört auch dazu!

The view and the staffs hospitality

Such an incredible location. Haputale is an incredible chilled area, lots of nature, fresh air and wildlife. We wish we had booked to stay here longer. The family owners of this hotel are so lovely, as are their staff, nothing was too much trouble. The family I’m go out of their way to support those less well of in the community and provide employment for some. The onsite cooking class is a must, 50% of the cost goes towards helping local school children. The food we prepared was some of the best we had during our three week stay in Sri Lanka. The hotel was very clean and had everything you could need for your stay. The communal garden area was lovely and well cared for. Would definitely recommend.

Unser Zimmer hat eine fantastische Aussicht. Der Besitzer des Hotels war sehr hilfsbereit. Er achtet auf Nachhaltigkeit. Für das leckere Abendessen und Frühstück gab es Gemüse aus seinem eigenen Garten. Wir fanden es auch sehr gut, dass die Familie darauf achtet, Personal einzustellen, das sozial benachteiligt ist.

Tout était parfait

Honnêtement nous avons tout aimé ici. Rapport qualité / prix c’est le meilleur hôtel que nous avons fait ! La chambre est propre , confortable , la literie au top (assez rare pour être noté au SL), il y a un balcon, salle de bains nickel avec eau chaude . On peut parler de la vue qui est une VRAIE vue sur la montagne (voir photos) , sublimée au coucher de soleil. Pas de bâtiment ou autre pour gâcher le tout Nourriture excellente , petit déjeuner exceptionnel et gargantuesque avec des crêpes , du pains etc pour ceux qui sont fatigués des petits dej locaux (en bons français que nous sommes 😅). L’équipe est aux petits soins , souriante, extrêmement aidante (ils ont été d’une aide précieuse pour nous). Je ne peux que recommander cet hôtel car vous êtes au calme et pourrez descendre dans le centre ville à pieds sans problèmes .

What an amazing view! Absolutely stunning, set above tea plantation looking south down towards foothills & Udawalawe. Delicious food for dinner and breakfast - a lovely touch to end the meal with curd and honey! Staff were lovely and friendly once over the initial shyness. The garden and outdoor planted area was beautiful. And the owner and his sister gave us a wonderful cookery demonstration which we then ate for dinner - delicious. We walked from St Catherine’s to Haputale on the Pekoe trail which was stunning. Thank you

We had a very comfortable stay. Our room was spacious, and the balcony offered a lovely view of the valley. The owner and his team were truly kind and attentive, helping us organize our hikes and transport. The meals were flavorful and varied, and the overall service was excellent. A very pleasant place that we highly recommend.

First thing to mention is the view (it's in the name for a reason)! The view from the room is absolutely stunning. Waking up to a vista of misty mountains was really special and unlike anything I've experienced before. The room itself was very spacious, comfortable and clean with a tasteful aesthetic. The location of the property is great. You can get a 2-minute tuktuk into the centre of Haputale for very cheap and multiple stages of the Pekoe Trail are accessible from here if you're into hiking. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and you get so much food for a very reasonable price! But the thing that made my stay here extra special is the people. The staff were extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The owner, Hashan, is one of the kindest and most compassionate individuals I've ever met. He helped me get some medication that i needed, he offered me advice and information about the area and we sat and had tea and biscuits together and he told me about Sri Lanka. I felt more welcomed by him and his staff than I have ever felt at a hotel. I am so grateful that I stayed here and I could not recommend it more highly.

Во-первых, очень доброе внимательное заботливое отношение к каждому гостю! 2. Вкуснейшая домашняя еда. Великолепные завтраки и ужины. Еда не очень острая. Есть кофе-машина с хорошим кофе - капучино, латтэ, американо. 3. Вид на облака на уровне глаз и даже ниже уровня глаз. Вы можете наблюдать прямо из окна удивительное представление в небе, буквально как рождаются и растворяются облака всех форм, цветов и размеров 4. Рядом с отелем в разные стороны есть тропинки для прогулок, где можно встретить множество красивых птиц, мангустов, стадо козочек, иногда можно встретить серых лангуров или макак, а также дышать очень чистым воздухом. 5. Рядом приятный лес из эвкалиптов, что очень полезно для здоровья. Очень тихо, спокойно, и не слышно шум дороги. 6. В отеле проточный водонагреватель, благодаря чему всегда есть горячая вода. 7. Есть сервис стирки вещей и аренда скутера, что тоже очень удобно. 8. Близко хайкинговые маршруты и достопримечательности! 9. В постоянном доступе зона для отдыха и фотозона на крыше, где можно читать книгу на закате и любоваться закатом. А закаты тут потрясающие! 10. Вся территория в цветах, много птиц и они очень красиво поют и утром и вечером. Ощущение райского места! Благодарю чудесный отель и его команду за уют, гостеприимство, заботу и вкусную еду!

Я уже 3-й раз приезжаю в этот чудесный отель. Мне тут ВСЕ нравится: красивый и чистый номер, удобный матрас, отличный санузел, горячая вода без всяких проблем. Шикарный вид на чайные плантации и равнину с высоты 1400 метров. Просыпаться под пение птиц на одном уровне с облаками было восхитительно. Ночью невероятное звездное небо и светлячки, живущие в чайных кустах. Территория отеля очень уютная, везде красивые цветы, 2 небольших водоема с рыбками. Отличные завтраки и ужины, очень вкусная еда и национальная, и европейская. Персонал очень отзывчивый и вежливый, все мои просьбы сразу же были исполнены. Особая благодарность владельцу отеля Хашану, который очень заботлив про отношению к гостям. Организовал нам трансфер из Мириссы, помог найти байк для поездок, организовал массаж, стирку вещей, помог с билетами на автобус и еще много всего. Очень редко можно встретить такую включенность в заботу о гостях отеля и неравнодушие. Я каждый раз приятно впечатлена и с каждым приездом отель становится все лучше. Удобное расположение отеля вдали от шума города, даже ездить никуда не нужно, можно гулять по живописным чайным плантациям прям рядом с отелем. Рядом Адишам Бунгало (можно пешком дойти), недалеко Липтон Сит. Это наше любимое место в горной Шри-Ланке, будем сюда еще приезжать с большим удовольствием

L’hôtel est confortable, un peu à l’écart avec une très belle vue. Le dîner est très bon mais mériterait de changer d un jour sur l’autre (idem pour le petit déjeuner qui propose trop de pain).

Our stay at Leisure Mount View was truly unforgettable. The surrounding environment is absolutely superb, with breathtaking views and beautiful cool weather that makes Haputale so special. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The staff are incredibly attentive, kind, and helpful. We especially want to mention Chamoth, Nadeera, and Iwantha — they are doing their jobs wonderfully and always made sure we were comfortable. What makes this place truly special is that it is not just an accommodation provider. It is a place filled with love, care, and purpose. The concept behind the team is very inspiring. Some of the staff are single mothers who are being supported through employment, and others come from very difficult backgrounds. The effort to give opportunities and dignity through work is something we deeply appreciate. We also attended the cooking class with Dewmali, who is a teacher at a nearby school. She does this part-time to help support the education of poor children in Haputale. It was one of the most meaningful experiences we have ever had. It is not just a cooking class — by attending it you are also contributing to the education of children in need. We highly recommend everyone to join this experience. You can clearly feel that the owner, Hashan, runs this place with genuine love and care. We will definitely come back again.

The views from the property were outstanding and they provide a on-site cooking class which was very enjoyable.

Whilst the bedding appeared clean, they then put on top decorative pillows and a throw that were absolutely filthy and looked like they had never been washed. The shower had hot water, however the water from the basin tap was freezing. You are asked to pre-order your food, and I choose Rice and Curry. Rather than cooking from fresh this was leftovers from an earlier cooking class and unfortunately it was served to me cold.

On a eu un peu peur au début de l'insonorisation puisque la salle de bain a des ouvertures qui donnent sur le couloir mais tout était très calme. Pas de wifi dans notre chambre. Dommage que le rooftop ne soit pas plus aménagé. Mais tout ça, ce sont des détails, l’hôtel est très bien avec un excellent rapport qualité prix!

Slightly regimented approach to meals and activities.

Our room was large, very clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was good with plenty of hot water. Food in the restaurant including breakfast was very good. We had a cooking class in the old farmhouse which was excellent. The views and walks right in the doorstep were stunning. Best of all was the whole ethos. . The family who own the hotel employ single mothers and widowed ladies. The money earned from the cooking class supports children who need school supplies. The staff here all seemed very happy and were super helpful.

It’s not a dislike as such. More a suggestion. The room is large enough for a wardrobe of cupboard so that clothes can be stored away out of sight. It would also be helpful to have an information sheet in the room setting out how breakfast and dinner works. Both minor points but worth considering.

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits fin février au leisure Mount View. L'emplacement et la vue sur les plantations sont absolument magnifiques. L'équipe est adorable, à l'écoute et a tout fait pour répondre à nos besoins. Notre chambre était très confortable, de quoi se préparer un café ou un thé, de l'eau chaude sous la douche, un grand et très bon matelas, un grand balcon à la vue imprenable. Je craignais un peu la formule buffet mais nous avons très bien mangé, matin et soir. Ashan, notre hôte nous a expliqué le pourquoi de cette formule ce qui contribue encore plus à soutenir ce lieu. En effet, cette famille a fait de son établissement un lieu de soutien social aux villageois les plus en difficulté. L'équipe n'est composée que de jeunes orphelins, soutien de famille et mères celibataires. Les repas, confectionnés par ces femmes, sont proposés sous forme de buffet pour eviter le gaspillage car tout ce qui n'est pas consommé par les clients et récupéré par l'équipe pour eux et leur famille. Dans la salle des repas, vous serez captivés par les visages des cuilleuses, villageois et institutrices d'Haputale, peints sur les bols de curd en terre cuite. Ce projet artistique date de la triste période du covid, certaines de ces personnes sont aujourd'hui décédées. Ashan, tu te souviens de notre discussion? Tu devrais proposer à la vente des cartes postales reprenant ces beaux dessins, ce serait un souvenir hors du commun à emporter et les fonds contribueraient à ton projet humanitaire. Nous espérons revenir un jour.

Excellent location just outside of town with stunning views. We had a spacious room on the roof terrace, modern and clean. We loved breakfast and dinner time in the restaurant with great food, friendly staff and more of an opportunity to meet other guests than anywhere else we stayed.

We missed air conditioning, a wardrobe to hang clothes, safety deposit box and a hairdryer in the room although appreciate that some amenities could be requested from reception. Beer is available although no other wines/spirits.

Le seul petit point faible est l'isolation phonique, qui est un peu légère. On entendait pas mal les bruits extérieurs, ce qui est dommage quand on cherche le repos complet.

Es gibt warme Decken , also keine Angst vor der hohen Lage. Super Frühstück, es gibt eigentlich nichts, was es nicht gibt. Abends gutes Essen - meine persönlichen Diätwünsche konnten berücksichtigt werden (Auswahl dann jedoch gering) In Haputale geht mittwochs nur der Sonderzug für Touristen gegen 9.30 Uhr und dieser kostet 3000 oder 3500 RS pro Person, auch wenn man nur eine Station fährt. Also bedenken, wenn man für den Pekoe Trail die Bahn benutzen möchte. Uns hat dann ein Tuktuk zum gleichen Preis bis zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung gefahren, und war dann, obwohl doppelt so weit und bergig schneller am Ziel :-) Wir sind hier 2 Abschnitte des Trails gewandert. GPXGerät von Vorteil.

Harte Matratze, etwas wenig Wasserdruck (Hat nichts mit dem Hotel zu tun: In Haputale gibt es eine "Tuktuk-Maffia" - also vom Zentrum kommt man nur mit teueren Tuktuks weg. Pickme vom Hotel jedoch nicht vom Bahnhof!!! (etwas muss man in dieser bergigen Gegend immer drauflegen, der Sprit ist ja teuer))

The hotel, the view, the food, the town itself, the walks - everything was totally excellent. But most of all the staff were unbelievable. My partner had a serious accident whilst hiking and the manager of the hotel went to immense lengths to help us. We are so grateful and cannot praise them highly enough.

The location was excellent, amazing views from the balcony if you get a clear day. The breakfast was complimentary. You can go hiking around, or rent a scooter and drive to the main toursit objectives

At the time we were there it was quite cold, even in the room. The blanket was thick, so that was ok, they even offered extra blankets. The water heater in the bathroom is quite small, and the pressure is average. In hot weather this wouldn't be a problem.

Amazing breataking view. Very friendly and funny manager and staff who does their best for you. They arranged some bouquet amd flowers for our anniversary.

Very Kind hosts. The views are beautiful. Very good food, we especially can recommend the cooking class which was a great experience.

That was absolutely our best stay in Sri Lanka 🩵 The location and the view - amazing. Room absolutely fantastic - spacious, clean with great terrace. The food was so good!!!! The best we had in Sri Lanka for sure 🩵 the staff super nice, helpful and welcoming. I was really sorry to leave and wished to stay longer

Mimo trudnych warunków pogodowych, mój pobyt w Haputale był niezwykle udany. W hotelu panuje rodzinna atmosfera, a personel oraz właściciele są niezwykle pomocni i dokładają wszelkich starań, aby pobyt gości był satysfakcjonujący. Miałem przyjemność uczestniczyć w lekcji gotowania, co okazało się wspaniałym doświadczeniem i pozwoliło mi spojrzeć na lokalną kulturę z innej perspektywy. Dodatkowo, widoki z kuchni są wyjątkowe. Zdecydowanie polecam to miejsce każdej osobie poszukującej chwili spokoju.

L’emplacement est incroyable, avec une vue sublime sur les montagnes et culture de thé (pas de chance car nous avons eu beaucoup de brouillard lors de notre passage).

La chambre sur le rooftop est assez sommaire, il n’y a aucun équipement dedans et la salle de bain est assez vieille, pas de pression dans la douche, la propreté pas incroyable. L’accueil était standard, pas le plus chaleureux qu’on ai reçu du séjour mais c’était correct.

Tout était bien. La chambre propre et spacieuse avec une vue formidable. Au calme, petit déjeuner et dîner sous forme de buffet délicieux. Le personnel attentionné. On peut partir de l’hôtel se promener dans les plantations de thé. Le concept de l’hôtel est louable car il aide de jeunes orphelins à travailler, Ashan dirige l’ensemble avec beaucoup d’empathie. On vous recommande.

Akustyka w pokojach - słychać wszystko z korytarza. Standard łazienek odstaje od standardu pokoi, do tego problemy z ciepłą wodą. Dość wysoka cena, porównując z innymi obiektami na Sri Lance o podobnym standardzie. Niemiła niespodzianka na koniec w postaci 10% "service charge"
