Very friendly family. The view is amazing! Very much recommended
I was looking for a cozy and peaceful location while traveling solo on my bike. It was easy to reach, hassle free, clean and peaceful. Got a room with an incredible view with mountains and railway train line. There was a little balcony for the room to enjoy the views.
Great location with super wievs form dining romm and room balkony. Very nice owner family making great food, we even get a cooking lessons here, which was fun. Also very helpful with arrangment trips aroun the area. My family feels really good here!
The very warm welcoming family and the best Dahl curry that we had in Sri Lanka!
I booked this room for our driver, but I have stayed here previously. It's a great location, view and nice family My driver said it was fine
No breakfast in the price and it's a bit expensive compared to other similar properties
Friendly helpful family Warm shower and clean bed
Next to Buddhist temple which started prayers at 5am though only for 15 mins
Bardzo miły personel. Bardzo pomocny.
Brak ciepłej wody, brud. Tynk odchodził od ściany, zapach grzyba. Brak WiFi.
The view (when it wasn’t cloudy :) The super nice hosts and their kids The comfortable beds
It’s a bit dated and old school - but for the price it’s absolutely ok. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t great Breakfast was basic - would be nice to have some fruit or vegetables
Lovely welcoming family, easy communication, good English including the small kids. Nice setting and stunning views over the valley and train track. Good reliable well priced TukTuk friend of the family for trips.
Buddhist temple across the road with loudspeakers. Nothing the owners can do about but good to know. Only once a day around 6pm.
The hotel owns very kind family. Room has a beautiful view to tea plans. Very good beds and comfortable bed sheets. Breakfast was delicios. We recommend this place!
Amazing breakfast provided, lovely clean and comfortable rooms, we were welcomed with tea and cake and the host kindly helped us organise any Tuktuks/taxis needed. Beautiful views
Very nice place to stay in Haputale. The view from the balcony in our room was astonishing and the owners were super friendly and helpful. It is roughly a 10-15 minutes walk to the very centre of Haputale, but we preferred this slightly less busy place higher up the road. The price was also very good, so definitely recommended (we stayed for 3 nights).
Polo Region Rest Inn is an authentic homestay located approximately 1.5 km from Haputale. It’s an easy walk to town or a 200 rupee ride by tuk tuk. The family is adorable and for the few days you are there, you will feel included. The place is primarily managed by Sewwandi, a lovely young woman with a friendly smile and an easygoing demeanor. She speaks excellent English and can help you get organized so that you make the most of your stay in Haputale. They have a large poster in the main living area that outlines all the major attractions including hikes, shrines, historic monuments, tea factories, etc. I found it to be immensely helpful. My room was small and basic with a stunning view from the terrace. I had warm water for bathing and two thick bkankets on my bed. My booking included breakfasts which were substantial. They offered both western and Sri Lankan options. There was a little family noise in the evening but it was not excessive and did not go on late into the night. You will definitely hear the train go by but I found it to be more romantic than anoying. Polo Region Rest Inn offers meals and has an extensive menu; just let Sewwandi know in advance. There are also several restaurants nearby. The warm hospitality of Sewwandi and her family made my stay extra memorable. Excellent value and highly recommended!
We did a cookery lesson, which felt like the whole family needed to help us. It was wonderful!
View and the vibe of the hotel - colonial and nice.
Didn’t have hot water in the bathroom.
Everything. The family are exceptional.lovely adults and children make the stay unique.the view from the room is unbelievable and addictive. The ultra comfy beds make sleeping sooo good. Breakfast options are great and you can tailor them to your likes. We've done a couple of trips to sri lanka and taken time to drive our jeep to roads less travelled. I've definitely rate this as the best value place we've ever stayed in. It was so sad to leave which is the ultimate compliment

excellent views, very warm and kind family
a great place to stay and relax, with a stunning view
The view and family were great, value for money
Our room had the most amazing view (not all rooms), so we spent hours reading on the balcony. Also had a really nice cooking class at the home. Very friendly people!
The breathtaking views from the balcony made this stay unforgettable. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful (they surprised me with tea and cake on arrival and even helped me arrange a tuk-tuk for a sunrise trip to Lipton’s Seat the next morning), and prepared a delicious breakfast.
The room is part of a larger building that is shared by the host family, so nighttime noises of family life could be heard throughout. Just a word of caution to pack some earplugs if you’re planning an early night!
Small family owned business with local hospitality. Great view of the Fox Trot hill and valleys of Haputale ; great view of distant hillsides and ranges.
train track close to property line May break the silence at set times. But trains schedule very scarce and quiet.
Great view from the balcony, comfortable big bed, friendly lady with very good English. Excellent SPA just down the road - we had ajurvedic 1,5h couple massage - the best ever! :)
It was a little cold in February - please bring your warm clothes or sleeping bag :)
