Quiet country location, yet still handy for the town. Lovely accommodation very clean and nicely furnished. Any problems were quickly dealt with in a friendly manner.
More towels would have been handy.
The cottage was beautifully modern, yet with all the traditional features. It was very well equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. Tommy is an excellent host, we will definitely be back. The McAdam/Boltons
It was wonderful little cottage perfect for my friends and I. About a 5-10 minute walk from the town proper. The owner was kind but also hands off and left us to our own devices unless we reached out to him. He included a number of maps and flyers to give great places to visit.
Some of the bathroom sinks were a bit too powerful in my opinion. And the wifi did not extend throughout the whole building. However neither were particularly big of a deal.
We absolutely loved it! Tommy was a great host who welcomed us with a little tour of the house and some historical details about Castleblayney. We had the cutest neighbors (cows) and a nice view from every room. Since the Haggard is located pretty much in the middle between Belfast and Dublin (both within a 1.5 hr radius by car) there was a lot to discover. We got to enjoy woods, fields, historical sites and the coast all within a few days. We absolutely recommend this accommodation for families or any other group of up to 6 people, since there is plenty of space (3 bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom) and lots of adventures waiting!
Tommy was an exceptiontional Host. He met us at the property and ran me into the local town to shop for provisions (as we disdn't have ouw own transport). He even offered to return later so we could visit the local town for dinner and gave advise on where to go.
The cottage is fairly remote (if you don't have your own transport). However, the bonus is that it is very private and peaceful. Really; nothing to dislike!
Spacious and modern. Spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable. There is a utility room with everything you need, and big beautiful open plan lounge, kitchen/dining area that is bright and welcoming. The whole house has a lovely relaxed vibe and the decor is perfect. There is also a small courtyard with bistro set for sitting out with a coffee or book. And it’s so quiet! I could easily have stayed longer. We had a car that made getting to shops etc easy, and if you enjoy walking, it’s a pleasant walk into the town. I would def recommend a car if anyone has difficulties with walking.
Couldn’t fault this property.
The house is in a perfect location. Had all the amenities you could need. Communication with Tommy was perfect. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic communication throughout our visit. The host was brilliant we couldn’t ask for more. The property was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Great location. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back again
Modern, spacious, underfloor heating was great, lovely host and welcome treats
Starting to show a small lack of attention (tiles chipped, grouting missing and dirty in places) TV may be a great size, but there are very little working channels, for it to cater to six people - there isn’t a lot of seating in the living room - it would be rather cramped, bedroom blinds are thin and ill fitting (if staying in summer the rooms would be very bright very early) curtains added would make a great improvement (there were a very spots of mildew on bottom corners of blinds) having no blinds or curtains in the main living area made the room feel quiet exposed and there was no control over sunlight entering the room, the extractor looks out of place along with cooker - makes the kitchen look unfinished, drains need attention as there is a strong smell coming from them and they are slow to clear water, there should be the option for more than 1 pillow each, not sure why there is a log burner that you can’t use?, heating in main room doesn’t really work I think there should be an overhaul and detailed clean and fix up to make the property truly amazing
Fabulous house, bright, clean, lots room for 6 adults or kids. Beautifully decorated for Christmas too. Everything you need only 2mins from castleblayney.
All good.
This is a stylish and well designed property that engages the mix of old and new to produce a property full of character whilst being very functional.
This is a remote property which is ideal as long as you are prepared, you will need a car although the owners are more than kind and hospitable so no doubt there will be options for transport.
Beautiful accommodation. Great facilities. Great communication from owner.
Nothing
We loved the style of the property, the peacefulness and it's cleanliness.
Everything was great and I have no negatives regarding this property.
Comfortable, clean and had everything needed for our stay.
So beautifully designed for easy living. Everything had been thought of.
Absolutely nothing!
Beautiful setting with cows and flowers right outside the windows. The kitchen and living space were very comfortable with everything that you need.
We liked everything
Very relaxing and peaceful Beautiful property
Beautifully refurbished building showing the true character of the old Haggard. Hosts were fantastic and house was well equipped. Close to Castleblaney town yet located in a quiet and private location. Highly recommend!
We loved the beautiful cottage, it was spotless and well presented.
We were there as a family of four, and it was very spacious and quiet and comfortable. The owner, Tommy was very helpful and went out of his way to help us have a very good time and organise activities.
The Wi-Fi was very slow.
Perfect location , very cosy ,property built to a high standard, host (tommy) is a real gentleman and very helpful with our trip
Perfect, could not fault anything at the haggard
Beautiful property, walking distance to town, perfectly designed and appointed
The property was very well equipped, excellent facilities and very clean. Spacious house with comfy bedrooms with access to WiFi and smart tv.
Everything was perfect have nothing bad to say
Photos don’t do it justice- beautifully renovated property with lots of space.
Not much outside space - although close (5 mins drive) to Lough Muckno for lovely walks/watersports.
This house is beautifully finished. The rooms are all spacious and clean. We were staying for a nearby wedding so didn’t do much exploring of the area, but it was just a v short drive into the town centre. Tommy was very helpful and welcoming, and had decorated the house for Xmas which was a lovely touch.
Unfortunately the tap water during our stay was very unpleasant and smelt strongly of eggs. We had to buy bottled water, but Tommy also supplied us with some water when I made him aware of it.
The location and surroundings were stunning Tommy couldn’t be more helpful really impressed we’re going to return with other family members in the near future
There was nothing that we didn’t like Totally exceeded our expectations
Lovely warm modern house, really well equiped
Nothing
The house is absolutely gorgeous. A big open plan living area/kitchen with a large noise cancelling door separating the living area from the bedrooms which was great with a sleeping baby. The house is modern, clean and warm. Tommy, the owner, was so friendly and accommodating. A great spot for an Irish break! 10/10
Spacious and richly equipped apartment in a amazing rural area. The host is one of the kindest and most helpfull person I've ever seen, if you have any problem you can text/call him and you can be sure that it will be solved. You won't find anything better for a better price.
The apartment is quite far from the center of the town, it's a far distance to walk.
The house was lovely quit peace ful relaxing
