The room was clean and big. Also the location is really good. Tony was a super helpful and friendly host. Whenever I texted or call him for a question He helped me immediately. Because in jaffna a lot of people don't speak English, it was super good to have a host like Tony who helped whenever it was needed. And of course it was super nice to have the lovely dog Sophie surrounded.

Wir hatten einen richtig tollen Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und gepflegt und für den Preis wirklich super ausgestattet: Klimaanlage, Ventilator, Moskitonetze und ausreichend Ablagefläche waren vorhanden. Die Kaltwasserdusche war für uns überhaupt kein Problem, da dies vorher auch so angegeben war. Auf Wunsch konnte man Frühstück bestellen und sogar Wäsche waschen lassen. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den Besitzer. Er war unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit und stand uns bei allen Fragen jederzeit zur Seite. Er hat uns viele hilfreiche Tipps gegeben und uns sogar bei der Organisation unseres Busses zum nächsten Reiseziel unterstützt. Man merkt wirklich, dass ihm seine Gäste am Herzen liegen. Auch die Lage war für uns sehr praktisch. Der Bahnhof und die Stadt waren gut zu Fuß erreichbar, und kurze TukTuk-Fahrten kosteten nur sehr wenig. Insgesamt ein wirklich tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Eigentlich hatten wir nichts auszusetzen. Die Fenster sind etwas dünn, sodass man Geräusche von draußen teilweise recht deutlich hört. Für uns war das aber kein Problem.

Tony's est un hôte très accueillant et serviable. Il nous a aidé pour les horaires pour le Nallur Festival, ma copine avait besoin d'aller à l'hôpital il a appelé l'hôpital pour nous renseigner sur le docteur et les horaires. La maison est très propre, la chambre est grande, avec une clim et très bien fermée pour les moustiques. La salle de bain partagée était toujours propre avec de l'eau chaude au besoin.

Què puc dir d'en Tony si els comentaris ja ho diuen tot? És una persona amable, respectuosa, atenta i servicial sense arribar a agobiar gens; qualsevol cosa que necessitis, farà tot el possible per ajudar-te. L'hotel ho té tot impecable, sempre està MOLT net i els llits són comodíssims. La ubicació és molt bona: ets a uns 30 minuts caminant dels punts d'interès i a només 6 minuts en PickMe, tot i que també pots llogar-li a ell mateix una bici, moto o cotxe per moure't per la ciutat. L'establiment és ampli i té de tot: una gran terrassa a la part superior just davant d'un parc enorme (ideal per a nens) i, a la part de baix, recepció, menjador i una zona exterior amb porxo, taules, cadires i fins i tot un grumpoll.

​Si hagués de dir alguna cosa que no m'ha agradat, sincerament no en trobaria cap 🤣. Només com a detall anecdòtic, la clau de l'habitació anava una miqueta dura, però estic ben segur que era jo, que no la posava bé!

Tony is an amazing host and was so helpful during our stay! He gave us great recommendations and also let us keep our bags in the hostel before getting the bus. Tony’s dog, Sophie, was especially lovely!

It's clean, well-equipped and the owner's hospitality is excellent. There is a very friendly and smart golden retriever. The air conditioner was quiet, very effective, and I was able to rest very well.

Tony is such a nice person. If you stay in Jaffna, Tony’s garden House is the place to go. He is a great host, the rooms have everything you need and Sophie (the dog) is the cherry on top.

Tony was a very welcoming host. Him and his friend (Golden retriever Sofi) are an adorable duo! I felt at home Tony helped with planning my days in Jaffna and suggested how to get to places. The breakfast was amazing) I felt a lot of care 🤍 I'm hoping to be back!

The rooms are basic, but very clean and excellent value for money.. Tony, the host is incredibly helpful. He went out of his way to organise a scooter for us, which was difficult as it was a Bank Holiday weekend. He sorted our laundry, helped us book bus tickets and recommended restaurants and places to visit. There's a lovley view over a little park from the balcony. Thank you Tony!

Everything! Tony is an amazing host. Sophie is cute. Room is clean and have all we need (which is AC 🤣). Breakfast was yummy. I like the view of the children’s park, very cute and peaceful. We completely felt like home 💓

Tony was so friendly and helpful, and it was in the perfect location with the attractions walking distance or a shirt tuktuk away. Definitely worth the price! The room was clean &good. Thankyou

Nous avons adoré notre séjour avec Tony! Il parle très bien l'anglais et est toujours disponible! Bien qu'il fût mentionné qu'il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude dans la douche, l'eau était parfaite, et il y avait beaucoup de pression! La terrasse au deuxième étage donne sur le parc avec l'arbre à chauves-souris géantes. Tony nous a beaucoup aidé dans la planification de nos journées et nous a bien conseillé sur les restaurants et choses à voir et à faire. Je recommande sans hésiter!

Très sympathique auberge de jeunesse.. Tout est conforme à la description. Tony est très sympathique, très calme, et donne des conseils dès qu'on en a besoin. Il nous a aidé à organiser notre excursion sur l'île de Delft et nous a conseillés pour les lieux où manger. Ses conseils ont été précieux. Les petits-déjeuners étaient très bons !! Merci Tony pour avoir rendu notre étape facile à vivre. Nous avons aussi profité du service laundry et c'était fait en 24h.

Tony is the soul and heart of everthing here, i only had 2 days in Jaffna and i wanted a cultural expierence and he set me up with a guided tour and i got everything i asked for and more. Place is quiet and has a relax vibe. Its close by some really good restaurants. Breakfast was the best i had in Sri Lanka especially those small sweet buns. Worth every penny, It really feels like a Backpacker Inn.

What an amazing place this is! Tony is a great source of information, and a welcoming host, always willing to help. It's one of those places you want to go back to. Cozy, and a good place to mingle with fellow travelers, while still maintaining the feeling that you're in Sri Lanka. Good eye for details like being able to refill your water bottle, and use of the kitchen. Great breakfast too! Good location, close to the Kachcheri ruins, easy to walk to some of the better restaurants, possible to walk to the bus stand, although taking a tuktuk is recommended.

No hot shower, but I knew that beforehand. Not really a problem when it's 35 degrees.

Tony is such a great host ! Very welcoming, very friendly, very helpful and really eager to help his guests. All train and buses timetables are written in the hall, and he knows by heart all practical details about the area ! He also accomodates to his guests’ needs as much as he can. A great host indeed.

Jaffna is wider / more spread than I had imagined when looking on a map, so I had not evaluated that Tony’s place was about 2km from city center.

Tony est le meilleur hôte qu’on ai eu au Sri Lanka ! Le logement était très propre et ne manquait de rien, avec tout un tas de services et d’équipements avec des prix très abordables (locations de scooters, lessives etc…). Il a été très attentionné tout du long de notre séjour. Ps : Pensée à Sophie son golden retriever qui était adorable.

Tony is a very friendly and helpful host. The hotel is basic but value for money. If you need a ride or tour he can hook you up with his brother (who knows his way around better than Google Maps)

Tony was such a nice host and we really felt welcomed! Everything we wanted to see was reachable by foot. The atmosphere is really nice and Tony was really helpful with the transport 😊

La chambre familiale était parfaite pour nos besoins. Nous avons apprécié le confort des lits et que les enfants puissent chacun avoir leur lit. Nous avons aussi apprécié l'espace de la chambre et que la salle de bain soit attenante. Nous avons aussi apprécié le calme alors que nous logions en ville. La situation de la guest house était très bonne : juste en face d'un parc public avec jeux pour les enfants et bancs pour se détendre dans la verdure pour les adultes. Les enfants ont aussi apprécié les glaces roulées en face. Tony a été aidant et de bons conseils, toujours disponible. Le rapport qualité-prix est absolument excellent 👌🏻 Nous recommandons et reviendrons.

If you are a traveler/backpacker visiting Jaffna, you must stay here! It's one of the best guesthouses I have stayed at. Tony, the owner, is wonderful and was extremely kind and helpful during my stay with questions on tours and transit (he even texted me to check-in when my bus was delayed and I did not arrive at my scheduled time). The room was great for the price, and I felt comfortable and safe. Breakfast was delicious. Lots of other travelers, so it's a good place to meet people. The wi-fi was quite good. Thanks!

Loved everything about this stay. Tony is warm and welcoming, he arranged a tuk tuk day tour for myself and another guest, one of the best I’ve been on in a long time! Tony had other great recommendations as well. He is a wealth in knowledge for the area. Breakfast was delicious and lots of it!!

Un super séjour à Jaffna ! Maison d'hôte très bien située, proche du centre et dans un endroit calme. Chambre propre et confortable avec la clim. Très bon petit déjeuner sri lankais ! Tony est vraiment très accueillant et nous a beaucoup aidé pour organiser notre séjour (ile de Delft, super tour en tuk tuk pour découvrir la ville et les environs, réservation des bus...) ! Nous sommes restés 4 nuits, tout était parfait. Nous recommandons cet endroit . Merci Tony !

Great host and a very cute doggo!! It was nice to have a kitchen and it was very easy to reach by bus or a 20-minute walk from the center.

The bathroom was incredibly hot and humid but that’s nobody‘s fault, just the Sri Lankan heat.

Great location in a lively neighbourhood with a lovely atmosphere. Super clean and attention to detail is really good. The staff are friendly and non intrusive and have a wealth of knowledge. Super vibes and the room was spotless and comfortable. WiFi is strong. Close to restaurants and juice places and historical places. Would visit again and highly recommend, long or short stays.

The hostel is at a great location, easy to reach everything even by walking and ut offers everything you need. Great plus point for the water refill! Not seen that anywhere else. But the best thing is the owner Tony (and if course Sophie): he is so kind and helpful. Thank you for all your recommendations; tour and food wiss. You made my stay in Jaffna unforgettable. I had such a great stay at Tony's Garden House. I stayed there for 3 nights. It was perfect for me. Quick and easy to the centre. Lots of cafes/restaurants in walking distance. Great value, approx £10 a night for private room with private, A/C & fan. But he has many other cheaper opinions. Tony was a really relaxed and helpful guy, always smiling and welcoming. Definitely check his place out if you're staying in Jaffna. It's a really nice place!

La struttura è sistuata ad una ventina di minuti dal centro e dalla stazione dei bus, anche se proprio in prossimità c'é una fermata del bus tratta Colombo - Point Pedro (il proprietario, una volta fatta la prenotazione, vi informerà sul nome della fermata). Tony, il proprietario, è un ragazzo eccezionale che si è messo a disposizione ad ogni mia richiesta. Mi ha anche fornito il contatto di una guida turistica per la visita di Jaffna e isole ad un presto molto onesto). La vernada, che dá sul giardino comunale, aizta a rilassarsi la sera dopo una bella giornata di visita. E si respira tantittissimo l'aria internazione, con le sue pareti con le dediche ricordi dei viaggiatori che hanno soggiornato in questa struttua. Assolutamente lo consiglio!!

La permanenza e il servizio è stato eccezionale e non ho niente da obiettare.

L'esprit d'une guest house est incarnée par la personnalité de son propriétaire et Tony est à la fois discret, très efficace et d'une grande gentillesse. La localisation est parfaite, Nallur est un quartier de Jaffnar très intéressant. Les autres voyageurs étaient très conviviaux, on a partagé des bons moments. possible que j'y revienne un jour vivre quelques temps!

Bett wirkte instabil, Kaltwasserdusche und sehr kleines Bad (was für den Preis völlig okay ist)

La veranda che da sul giardino comunale aiuta a rilassarsi la sera dopo una bella giornata di visita. E si respira tantissimo l’aria internazionale, con le sue pareti ricordo dei visitatori!! Assolutamente la consiglio!!

Non ho trovato nella mia camera il telecomando dell’aria condizionata, ma il ventilatore a soffitto ha aiutato a rinfrescare l’aria

Tony’s place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, decorated in a simple Sri Lankan style whilst also feeling very much like home. We loved it! We enjoyed sitting on the shared balcony watching the street and park scenes and chatting with others. Good location for getting around and Tony is very helpful with great local knowledge.

Tony is a wonderful host, breakfast was good and the vibe of the place is very relaxed, I enjoyed my couple of days there and the recommendations he gave.

Wir wurden super herzlich von Tony und Sophie (dem Golden Retriever) aufgenommen! Das Zimmer war nichts besonderes, aber hatte alles was wir brauchten. Man kann sich günstig (50LKR pro Liter) Trinkwasser abzapfen. Das Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig und super lecker!

Wow!! Wir waren wirklich sehr begeistert und können diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen. Es war alles sehr sauber. Es gab sehr gutes und wirklich sehr preiswertes Frühstück, das frisch zubereitet wurde. Tony ist außerdem ein unfassbar bemühter, hilfsbereiter und freundlicher Gastgeber. Er hat uns sehr gutes Tipps gegebene und sich immer darum gekümmert, dass nicht nur unser Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft, sondern auch unsere Erlebnisse in Jaffna reibungslos abliefen und wir eine schöne Zeit hatten. Wir haben über Tony eine tolle Tuk-Tuk-Tour buchen können, bei der wir sehr viel kulturelles und historisches lernen durften. Die süße Golden Retriever Dame Sophie war natürlich ein weiteres Highlight. Vielen Dank für alles ☺️

This was the perfect place for our 2 nights in Jaffna, wonderful host and very easy scooter renting and laundry service.

Loved the place and Tony is a fantastic host that cares about guests having the best of their time while in Jaffna. Location was perfect, 50mts from the bus stop, in a quite area in front of a gorgeous park and a very short walk or bike ride from restaurants and the city centre and fort. Tony and his partner were super helpful with any matter or question I had. They helped me arrange a bicycle to go around town, a tuktuk tour of the northern side of the peninsula, and find good dining spots. Breakfast was good, based on local foods - they even made it take away on my last day as I had an early bus. I had a private bathroom, which was perfectly clean and the shower was great. Although my room was in the ground floor, I never had any issues with noise coming from common areas.

Linen could have been a bit better, but nothing tragical. Room got a bit stuffy sometimes - normal in the Sri Lankan weather and with mosquito nets on the windows - but the fan was very strong and helped.

La terrasse est très agréable, l'endroit plutôt calme où tout est facilement accessible en tuktuk, même à pied du centre quand on a le temps. Je recommande chaudement.

Tony est un hôte incroyable, très à l'écoute et arrangeant quant aux besoins et aux demandes des guests. D'un très grand professionnalisme il nous a accueilli comme à la maison. L'ambiance dans la guesthouse est très conviviale; les chambres sont propres et confortables; le petit déjeuner est délicieux. Notre meilleur séjour au Sri Lanka, nous y retournerons sans hésiter. Petit bonus pour les amoureux des animaux, Sophie la labrador de Tony vous tiendra compagnie durant votre séjour et n'hésitera pas à vous demander des caresses.

El trato de Tony. En todo momento dispuesto a ayudar. Nuestro tren salía a la tarde noche y nos permitió dejar el equipaje todo el día allí . Tiene una terraza, comunitaria muy agradable.

Las sabanas rotas y muy justas de higiene tenian un olor un tanto especial.El baño y la habitación son muuuuuy pequeñas. El agua caliente nunca llego.

Vor allen Dingen Tony und seine Hündinnen Sophie. Ein intrinsisch motivierter und sehr zugewandter, freundlicher Gastgeber. Auch war es immer schön sauber und das Frühstück war lecker.

Das Türschloss meiner Zimmertür war repariert und nicht leichtgängig. Auch hätte man es wohl einfach aufbrechen können. Irgendwann könnte man das Schloss mal erneuern.

Lovely place. Clean, comfortable and the highlight was Tony himself. He was really welcoming, helpful, well informed and interesting to talk to about the region. We did laundry, rented bikes, tried breakfast food (puttu) we had not found anywhere else, and we enjoyed it so much we decided to stay longer.

The location is good, right next to a park, but our room faced onto the road and it was a bit loud 🔊 so if you are bothered by street noise (I am not) maybe ask for a room away from the street.
