Reviewed Aug 23, 2026The hotel is in a great spot, just a short distance from Lake Tekapo. Since the building is new, the room felt pristine and modern, and the heated flooring was a lovely addition. While the bed was a bit too soft and the springs were noticeable, the rest of the stay was excellent. A wonderful, fresh place to stay!

Reviewed Aug 13, 2026We had unit 2 which had superb views to the lake and mountains. Nice and spacious apartment with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. We were warm and comfortable. There is a bar and restaurant directly under the apartment but we didn’t get a lot of noise and they were closed by 10pm. Slept fine. Walking distance to everything was nice and central.
Street and open car parking only but there was plenty of it.

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026If you read the check-in instructions properly, the process is completely seamless. You simply collect your keys from the Godley Hotel a few hundred metres up the road, and you’re all set. There was plenty of free street parking, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the location couldn’t be better. Right in the heart of Lake Tekapo, you can walk everywhere. I’d read a few reviews mentioning noise, but we had no issues at all and slept well. We’d definitely stay here again. Lake Tekapo is such an awesome little town! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

You can see the church of the Good Shepherd through the large windows from the living room - the view is just stunning. And the gathering point to star gazing tour is just a 2-mins walk. Also the parking is very easy.

Reviewed Jul 23, 2026Great location for astrophotographers. Located right by the lake. Unit was clean and well furnished. Great view of sunrise during the day and Milky way at night.
Only reason for deducting a point was the restaurant directly below Lot 7 which made it a bit noisy and bright. However, the food in the restaurant was great. One night, we just popped down, and bought food to our unit because the restaurant was full.

The lift was broken through our entire stay and we ran out of hot water the morning we left when my daughter was halfway through washing her hair. I had to boil the very small kettle several times and mix cold water in a coffee mug to rinse her off. And then do the dishes.

The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed and has an amazing view We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, Jack Rabbit, where the service was exceptional and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend the hotel, the apartments, and the restaurant.
If we had to be picky there could be better wardrobe/hanging space in the bedroom.
