Reviewed Sep 8, 2026Large room with a peep of the lake. Spotlessly clean and a great shower. Beds were very comfy with clean crisp linen. Loved the soap and shampoo provided. Very friendly reception staff at the GODLEY. When the tv remote didn’t work they came immediately to change the battery.
Only 3 teabags and only two cups. No chopping board. We didn’t want to cook but cups of tea and cutting up some fruit was limited! Also, for a dark sky location it was surprising that we could not turn off the stairway lighting which shined under our door all night. Simple fix to change to a security light that only comes on if someone is using the stairs.

No bathroom heater, Tekapo is very cold in winter. Very noisy bathroom extraction fan, neighbour's was on all night, hard to sleep. Non IT people find new streaming TVs almost impossible to get to work, simplify them. Very expensive for what is a basic motel.

We couldn't find anything wrong, good value ,clean room. Perfect for 1 night.

Terrible noise pollution. Every foot step from the neighbouring rooms was heard (and felt) through the walls and ceiling. Ear plugs might cancel the noise, but not the reverberation of foot-steps. Maybe it was the specific room or disruptive neighbour, but I've never suffered lack of sleep before.

The front door would jam a little bit. The bathroom door also liked to jam a bit. When I first arrived, the temperature was set to 31 degrees to make the place nice and warm. The only problem with this was, it overheated the place and made it get a strong plastic smell. When I cooled the room down and aired the place out, the smell went away.

Reviewed Jul 6, 2026The room on arrival didnt have the heating on and it was very cold as it was snowing outside had to wait for half hour before room started to warm up was dissappointed that it was so cold. plus had to work out how the heat pump worked on google as there was no clear instuctions on the heat pump.

Reviewed Jun 30, 2026The location is fabulous - right in the middle of Tekapo so close to everything. The room was very spacious, with a really nice bathroom, a view out to the lake and the church and a very comfortable bed.
The air conditioning unit was placed right next to the bed so it dried me out a wee bit,, but the room was very warm.

カップがちゃんと洗われておらず、湯船もちゃんと洗われてなかったのでちょっと気持ち悪かった。 2階の部屋が良かったのに1階で人の目を気にしなければいけないのが嫌だった。

Reviewed Apr 30, 2026Conveniently located and close to just about everything. The studio room was very spacious with a nice bathroom that had a tub to soak in as well as a shower.
The carpet was very dirty. The hotel where we checked in was a little way from the apartments, although totally walkable. For the price I would have expected it to be immaculate. We were short on time when we checked in as we had an attraction booked, and figured we would just wear our flip-flops in the room. The next morning, when we told the hotel receptionist about the dirty carpet, she offered us a complimentary coffee in the restaurant, saying she couldn't really give us anything more. We could have pressed to see a manager, as the cleanliness of our accommodation is, to me, the most important aspect... however, we didn't as she was very sweet and apologetic and we didn't have the energy!

Reviewed Apr 11, 2026The bed!!!! Exceptionally comfortable. Well appointed room... easy to heat. Loved the little balcony for extra space and a view with fresh air. Nice and central to everything. Car park allocated to us was good but the car park was a bit tight.... but not an issue really. Great that it had a wet space for shoes etc before entering the suite.
Bar fridge didn't have a freezer compartment so when I bought icecreams, I had to eat the lot in one go. 🤣🤣

Address kind of tricky to find - think we missed the memo about checking in at the Godley Hotel reception first and nothing at the actual accommodation told you where to go for access.

Reviewed Mar 9, 2026The location is right downtown, with the lake directly behind us and many stores, restaurants and a street food vendor spot in front of us. The room was huge and the bathroom was exceptional. We will definitely stay here again at this little gem in Lake Tekapo!!

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026좋은 위치이고 시설이 깨끗합니다. 생각보다 방이 넓어서 좋았습니다. 가격이 비싸다고 생각했지만, 테카포호수의 숙소들이 모두 비싸서 비교하면 오히려 가성비가 있는 것 같기도 합니다.
방이 넓어서 그런지 에어컨을 켜도 빨리 시원해지지 않았습니다. 테카포는 일교차가 커서 낮엔 더웠으나 밤에는 다시 추워져서 에어컨 동작이 큰 문제는 아니었습니다. 층간 방음이 잘 안되는 것 같습니다.
