Location and a great breakfast
Furnishings were awkward. Stubbed toes, knocked into furniture especially when watching TV and doors were open.
Very cozy and personal attention as well as home made breakfast
Nothing
Bed and room were exceptional and breakfast individually gourmet. Jeff was extremely knowledgeable about the area. Would stay there again if the opportunity arises.
Old charm Inn, meticulously maintained and offering nice breakfast. Great location and caring staff.
While it’s part of Perry Sound’s downtown charm, the train railway which is beside the Inn can be disruptive to sleep as trains run during night as well. Recommend bringing a pair of earplugs.
Cozy, warm welcoming place. Great when you are looking for something different from your average hotel.
Room was very nice, large, comfortable. Bed was a king and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, coffee excellent. Highly recommend. Perfect location.
A Kuerig in the room would have been nice for a coffee upon awakening. But the coffee in the dining room was excellent.
room & bed were very comfortable. breakfast was excellent. Staff was very accomodating. Location close to the harbour was very good. Overall good value for money. We will stay at this hotel again.
Beautiful property with great facilities. Large room with very comfortable bed. Lovely shower and bath
Only one thing slightly disappointing- there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, so had to wait until breakfast and we were up and dressed, to get a drink..
The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was great and proximity to the harbor couldn't be beat.
The room we were in was next to the laundry area so it was quite noise and the train came every 30-45mins which added to the noise. Also there was a dusty type smell in the room.
Just the historical look and feel
Location was fantastic Staff was wonderful
Clean and friendly
Good location
Room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyable breakfast. Quiet accommodation
Poor lighting in the room. TV didn’t work. Need a cart in the bathroom to put cosmetics and shower items.
The staff are friendly. The room was clean. The bed was soft. The bathroom was adequate. The breakfast was awesome.
Temperature in the room was very hot when we first arrived and took quite a while for the air-conditioning to cool it down. There was also a sloped roof and any tall people may have trouble in the shower because of this.
The location was great, just up the street from the harbour. Charming old 19th century house with beautiful -possibly antique- furniture. Bathroom/shower was fine, everything seemed clean. Scrambled eggs were good, like everyone writes...!
Strange that the owner didn't greet us when we checked in but maybe that's normal for such a B&B...? We phoned from the lobby to find out which room was ours. Room was OK but we unfortunately had 4 stairs to the bathroom which was challenging in the middle of the night. View was only of the neighbouring house unfortunately. Very close to the railway trestle which was loud in the night but trains were not too frequent. Breakfast was adequate but options were sparse.
La qualité et l'authenticité du lieu, l'accueil personnalisé du propriétaire, la qualité exceptionnelle du petit-déjeuner.

Location
Dated but normal for old house Would be nice if AC was updated
Le confort du lit et de la chambre, l'emplacement près des quais, le déjeuner était très bon
L'internet fonctionnait par intermittence.
Breakfast
The train outside the window
Excellent location in close proximity to downtown. Excellent breakfast. Friendly host. We weren't there long enough to enjoy it but there was a lovely outdoor veranda.
Our room on third floor was dark (could use more lights) and hot; the room air conditioner was very noisy all night. We think other rooms would be more comfortable.
Breakfast was lovely, but I could do with a couple of additions, specifically cheese and meat. Main need is coffee outside of breakfast, coffee maker in Room or coffee available 6-11am . Beautiful location.

Friendly owner. Great breakfast with fresh eggs cooked to order. Beautiful bedroom. Great location for doing the 30,000 Islands boat cruise.
Excellent location, comfy room and delicious breakfast. The host was so friendly and the room had everything we needed!
Excellent location, old time rooms with a lot of character. Jeff, the owner, is an excellent host and provides an excellent breakfast. Have stayed here 3 years in a row now.
Nothing
Tucked into a quiet area and yet not far from restaurants and other stores. Nice area for a walk as well.
There isn’t anything I didn’t like.
Too close to the train bridge. Each of the 4 trains during the night woke us up. Breakfast - all home made was excellent.
Proximity to train tracks.
Location
Jeff was informative about the area and very accommodating and flexible as to room choice. It was nice to have breakfast options and some freshly made eggs. It was during a hot spell and although the main reception was warm the rooms have their own air conditioning which was very welcome.
Everything - awesome host and cleaning staff- helpful and friendly
Nothing
Great location, good water pressure, nice bed and decent breakfast with eggs.
Uniquely vintage decorated with comfy bed and excellent location

If you’re looking for a charming, comfortable place to stay, don’t overlook The Bayside Inn. It has much more of a warm bed-and-breakfast feel than a typical hotel, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. The owner, Jeff, is visible, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure every guest has a wonderful stay. He shared that he and his family have owned and operated the inn for over 20 years, and it absolutely shows. There is so much pride and care in every detail. The location is excellent, with plenty of convenient on-site parking and easy access to everything we wanted to explore. Now let’s talk about comfort… The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens were wonderful, and the towels…wow! Jeff told us they prioritize high-quality towels and replace every single one each June. It may sound like a small detail, but after a day of exploring, those thick, soft towels felt like such a luxury. The pillows were excellent, the air conditioning kept the room perfectly cool, the refrigerator worked flawlessly, and the shower had fantastic water pressure—something travelers always appreciate! For me, the only tiny suggestion would be to bring your own hair conditioner if you normally use one. Everything else was just right. And then there’s breakfast… It’s included with your stay, and it’s far beyond what most hotels offer. Fresh eggs cooked to order, a beautiful fresh fruit salad, yogurt, assorted breads for toasting, homemade jams, coffee, a wonderful assortment of teas, and several juices to choose from. We left every morning completely satisfied and ready for the day ahead. Considering the comfort, location, hospitality, and breakfast, I honestly couldn’t believe the value. This is the kind of place you hope to find when traveling—comfortable, welcoming, and run by people who genuinely care. Thank you, Jeff, for making our stay such a pleasant one. Next time we are back in Parry Sound, we will stay at The Bayside Inn again.
Friendly and courteous, room was huge. Breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day.
Location , breakfast, large bed
Railway line near by at night
The host made fresh eggs every morning. Had fresh fruit salad, and homemade jams and jellies. The breads available was nutritious and high quality. Coffee was delicious. Prime location for tourists. Great neighborhood, awesome walking paths close by. Bottled water in the room fridge was nice.
What did you like? The complimentary breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade jams—a very nice personal touch. The king-size bed was comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. What didn't you like? The bed featured a memory foam mattress, which may not be to everyone's preference depending on personal comfort needs.
Could use a ceiling fan to help with air circulation. The a/c fan is bit noisy, but not broken. Could use a paint freshing up on baseboard & windows.
Hotel is very conveniently located near the docks and town center. The bed was very comfortable but very high off the floor so some seniors may have difficulty getting on it. Excellent breakfast with a variety of breads, jams, cereal, coffee, tea juices and fresh eggs cooked the way you want by the owner who is very friendly and helpful.
Room furnishings are old and warn out. Room chairs need to be replaced because they almost collapse when you sit on them. Overall the "house" hotel needs refurbishing. Beware that there is a main train line just a couple of hundred feet away on an overhead trestle that runs all day and night. The noise of freight trains is constant so you will not get a restful sleep.
Clean and comfortable and a convenient location. Good breakfast. Would stay again.
The train is something to be aware about but not as bad as other reviews suggest.
Great location, very clean, spacious room and great breakfast. Hosts were really friendly and knowledgable on local area.
Located near freight train line which was noisy but didn't affect our stay
Personal friendly service
Clean, well maintained property.
Bayside Inn was a perfect location to stop during our recent motorcycle trip. The bed was the comfiest I have ever slept in, full size tub to rest our weary bones in, breakfast was fantastic. Add that in with the close proximity to walking trails, restaurants and waterfront. We will be going back again soon! You definitely get the "welcome home" feeling here that you would miss at the big hotel chains.
Extremely comfortable bed. Good value. Great breakfast.
Lovely historic building, great location, huge bed and big room. Very comfortable, great host, accommodated early check in no problem. Good breakfast
Nothing
Vriendelijke gastheer ! En goed parkeren voor de deur. Lekker ontbijt ook dus prima verblijf.
De spoorlijn die erlangs loopt is iconisch maar de trein die ‘s nachts een paar keer voorbij komt maakt veel lawaai.
The house felt very welcoming and comfortable
No ice machine but ice was available upon request...
The room was very comfortable and clean.
We were kept up with the train all night.
Quaint small and friendly
TV volume too low!
Good location
Too close to railway tracks.
The room was very comfortable, with a renovated washroom. The location is very convenient. The Inn is just behind the train track - noisy during the day, but not a problem at night. Good breakfast, with fresh eggs prepared for us.
The trains passing by constantly during the day were a bit uncomfortable.
We love the old hospitality hotel vibe.
I enjoyed being right next to the rail line but some people might object to 3 minutes of clatter clatter.
Friendly staff and good location to the events
The room was an older style inn and a welcome change from the more commercial look foumd in chain hotels.
Super friendly and super accommodating. The BEST eggs ever !
Surprised to find spa bath in room - though it was not used!
Quiet, spacious room. Very friendly owner.
Great service, very nice breakfast.
The Inn seems to be a work in progress. It could use a coat of paint and the carpet in the Lobby area could use a clean
Clean Location
L’acceuil très bien. Chambre propre et confortable. Emplacement proche du petit port de bay side et de restaurants. Petit déjeuner équilibré.
The bed was super comfy, very clean and quiet
The wing chairs were kind of sinky
Breakfast was good. I enjoyed fruit, yogurt, juice and eggs. Cereal toast, coffee and tea was available just love the warm of this history house.
We were happy with everything. A television in the bedroom would have been nice, but not necessary
Nice spacious room. Great location in the centre of town within walking distance of several good restaurants. Good breakfast with gluten free options.
I was so exhausted after travelling for one week. I got there and my host turned down my bed and heated my room. My bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I woke up to breakfast with homemade jam, outmeal, cereal, fruit salad and eggs.
Zero complaints love this property and highly recommend.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with historical charm.
Bathroom amenities could have been expanded. Only one small bar of soap and a part small bottle of shampoo.
Exceptionally good value. Very clean inn with large comfortable rooms. The owner is hard-working while chill and pleasant to deal with.
Absolutely everything is to like about here. We're Absolutely coming back the first chance we get
Fantastic breakfast-hot eggs to order and selection of home made really delicious jams and fresh fruit salad-really more than the advertised “continental “ breakfast. Jeff, the owner went over the top to accommodate our requests! Great location within close walking distance to the waterfront and hiking trails.
A bit close to railway
Read big reviews about the breakfast but nothing special just a continental breakfast
Superbe auberge où on se sent chez nous tout simplement… Les lits sont très confortable! Le petit déjeuner est exquis!
Breakfast was amazing. The owner was attentive, knowledgeable and engaging. We felt welcome and appreciated.
The staff, facilities, cleanliness, comfort, value for money are all excellent! Compared to other offerings in the city limits, this is the only one that I could see offering a hot breakfast of eggs and toast. In a perfect world I would love to see a side of protein as well, but it is still better than the competition. See you next year!
Peaceful, but I love trains!
Nothing
The best features were: breakfast including eggs made to order in pleasant dining room, comfortable bed and bedding, spacious room. Bayside is close to the waterfront and a perfect launching spot for hiking, island cruising, finding dinner in a quaint town. The 20 year+ host/owner is a local who knows the area well. It's a perfect place for a getaway in a beautiful setting.
We had no complaints. Some previous reviewers were bothered by the nighttime freight train, but to us, even with an open window, it was just an occasional sound which could be mistaken for an air handler such as for heat.
Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was super kind and helpful. Room was lovely with a fireplace.
Clean rooms with fresh, crisp linen and brand-new mattresses, a delicious breakfast with made-to-order omelets, and the amazing vibe of a century-old inn.
The breakfast was excellent, and tasty. Jam was home made in house! Unheard of for most places that I stay. Very friendly and hospitable. I honestly wished I had more time to stay longer. Great place to stay, and excellent value.
It was like staying in a Hallmark movie. I was only there for one night and didn’t get to have the included breakfast but my bed was comfortable and I felt safe alone as a woman.
Could use a few aesthetic updates in the room but overall a great stay.
it was a good experience
tv problem could be updated
Breakfast was great. Eggs were made just the way I like them
It was quiet, had some historic charm, everyone we met was lovely. I enjoyed seeing the train go by on the overhead trestle/rail
This isn’t something I ‘didn’t like’, but I was mildly surprised to find that lotion is not included on the list of things provided (easily remedied as we drove to Shoppers Drug Mart ~3 minutes away and got some).
My bed was so comfy and they made sure it was warm and toasty for when I checked in during a snow storm.
I lived my stay and will definitely stay again when I’m passing through.
Quiet rooms
Owner Jeff. Breakfast was great. Slept like a baby.
Needs a little TLC here and there but nothing major.
Excellent shower. Simple but Good breakfast. Courteous staff. I would stay here again. A very good night sleep as we had a long drive before and after the stay.
Everything was perfect. No complaints. I really appreciated that we were able to check-in so late.
