The little things: lack of some kitchen provisions, like oven mitts, kitchen towels; the TV is mounted without a swivel in an awkward place in the room (alongside the door, positioned for a bed 15'+ away); lightbulbs throughout are different temperatures.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026The room layout was nice. Very handy having our own kitchen plus all the necessary equipment to cook for ourselves. The location was perfect too, close to the pub, a couple cafes and local business selling crabs, and fresh or cured salmon. People were friendly and helpful.
There is a sharp dangerous corner on the road. It would benefit those who stay with you, to inform them that there is a safe route through the property to go to the wharf.

Kitchen towels would have been good to have. Very hard to get suitcases upstairs. Concern for steps being slippery with the rain. Fan for air circulation would have been good.

the hot tub was more of a hot bath… no jets. Could have been a bit cleaner like baseboards and stuff but it’s a cabin!!! Also TV set up could have been more easy to use but we eventually figured it out. Could use a new stove as the burners are wobbly and loose but was so thankful to have one :)

We stayed one night and there was no wifi and therefore no TV until the morning. Apparently it had to be re-set. Not enough towels and also spare garbage bags would have been nice.

The wifi only worked half the time, make sure you don't get cat fished by the pictures on booking.com cause I thought I was getting a bigger room but they sent me completely different pictures after I finished my booking.

She shared a lot of practical and valuable information about the West Coast Trail, which was incredibly helpful for first-time hikers. The room was clean, comfortable, and overlooked a beautiful lake, making it a peaceful place to relax before starting our trek. Staying here the night before the WCT was one of the best decisions we made.

The barbeque facility needs attention. The barbeque was dirty and it was very difficult to get the propane going, we had to phone the host who also did not know how to assist. We eventually found that the big propane storage feeding the barbeque was shut. There is a very bad sewage smell outside that needs attention, probably from the septic tank.

The bathroom wasn't very clean, there were still hairs in the shower. Otherwise pretty outdated and on the expensive side for what you get. However, there aren't a lot of options in the area.

Huge room with two double beds, kitchen and a little table inside and a bigger dining table and chairs outside. Also a shared hot tube and sauna opposite which I made use of. 5 minute walk from several eating venues. Lovely and quiet.

The stairs to the bedroom are very steep so that care has to be taken to go to the bathroom. There was no fresh air in the apartment.

2 flights of stairs that was not informed of prior to booking. Shower is small. I am hobbit sized so can imagine the tight squeeze for a full average human size.

Reviewed Jun 13, 2026We had a lovely Lodge and enjoyed the stay for one night. The WIFI worked great and was pretty important for us because no connection in the whole area. Botanical Beach was a 6min drive and a short walk away, so perfect location. We had no contact with the stuff because we had a door code, everything worked perfect via Mail.
The only downside was the showe curtain, which wad quite moldy. Apart from that, everything was clean and well maintained.

Reviewed May 17, 2026What is there to be said. A room on the edge of a forest! We enjoyed our stay here and if time had permitted stayed longer. Walking around Port Renfrew from our room was easy and we were even able to walk to the nearby beach in the bay. The accomodation and location made the effort to get there worthwhile.

The outdoor bathtub with forest view while having a fire is a magical experience. We brought a eucalyptus bath salts and it was PERFECT! The hosts welcome binder was very affordable and the chocolate surfboard was a great touch. The bed was amazing. We had the best sleep here during our trip. Everything you could possibly need was supplied in the kitchen. The local coffee beans and French press made our morning incredible!!!! Beautiful shower and bathroom. High quality toiletries had a lux feel! If you prefer a stay where you check in and out without seeing anyone, this is the place for you. Very private and very easy. Decor was spot on, perfect island feel blended with modern comfort. Beautiful sleeping loft.

Just one issue is the cottages don’t have very accessible parking. You need to park at the side of the road and carry your stuff inside. Unlike huts where you can park really close.

The mini kitchen was especially helpful and made the stay much more convenient. I also really appreciated that they allowed early check-in without any extra fee—it made a big difference after arriving.
The cleanliness could use a bit more attention, as the floor didn’t seem to be properly cleaned. With some improvement in housekeeping, this would be an even better place to stay.
