Wild Renfrew Seaside Cottages

Excellent view of the water and tide pools, kitchen and dining table, propane fire pit, decorative fire place, overall cozy 2br cabin. A good remote location for relaxation, board games, and nature hikes. Online check in, no need to collect keys.

It requires a full 2 hour driving from Victoria BC, although there are good hiking opportunities along the way.

Sehr in die Jahre gekommen, Innenausstattung, zum Teil zerrissene und völlig verdreckte Sofas und Sessel, sehr basale Küchenausstattung, nicht gereinigte Schubladen. Nicht gefallen hat mir auch der Versuch zusätzliche Gebühren neben der Booking Buchung bei uns zu erheben für die Küchenreinigung, denen ich jedoch nicht zugestimmt habe, zumal die Küche, die wir übernommen haben überhaupt nicht als wirklich sauber zu bezeichnen war.

Location is superb. Quiet, scenic but very close to hiking, restaurants etc. loved having the hot tub and the firepit on a great balcony/terrace.

Although the property was great, the kitchen equipment could have been better and I would suggest a convection microwave to provide an oven. I was surprised that they charge extra to use sauna, and think they need to cut back some of the foliage around the balcony/terrace as it’s starting to impact the view.

Location on the ocean.

It needs a deep clean & bottom sheets and new linens that actually fit the bed.

Die Lage ist außergewöhnlich. Die Feuerstelle am Balkon war besonders. Tolle Lage für Ausflüge rund um Port Renfrew. Die Sauna (kostenpflichtig) mit Blick aufs Meer war ebenfalls toll.

L'emplacement sur la digue, le lodge très cosy avec le brasero à l'extérieur, le pub à proximité pour se restaurer sur place.

La localisation au bout du monde est exceptionnel avec un pub seul lié pour se restaurer mais très sympa et ce petit port niché dans ce bras de mer .

Que les 4 chambres côté 10 dans notre cas est un vis à vis aussi désastreux - studio on a garden - c’est son nom - au final on se retrouve avec son lit qui soir donne sur les autres logements soit en clore pire (pas notre cas ) sur le ponton avé beaucoup de passage et donc ferme les stores et on vit dans le noir lorsqu’on est à l’intérieur - là petite Terasse qui donne sur le port est géniale pour le petit déjeuner avec du beaut temps mais ça reste dépendant du temps et ça n’enlève rien au fait que le soir on est forcément dans le noir voir toute l’après midi - très surprenant que cela soit aussi mal fait

Die Lage des Cottages ist wirklich toll, man hat einen grandiosen Blick, sowohl von Innen, als besonders vom Deck und sogar aus dem Whirlpool. Es ist super ruhig und gleichzeitig ist 50m entfernt ein super nettes Pub und ein bisschen weiter ein toller kleiner Kaffee-Truck

Ein bisschen mehr Stauraum für Lebensmittel wäre wünschenswert

Wunderschöne Lage direkt am Wasser. Auf der Terasse stand eine Feuerschale zur Verfügung. Idealer Ausgangspunkt zu vielen Wanderungen.

Perfect location to relax, add-on sauna was amazing

The cabin was very comfortable, clean and accessible from our parking space nearly right outside the door. The view was fabulous . We liked the fire pit, once we had help come and help start it.

Our toilet broke down the morning we had to leave, and there are no other toilets on site. After trying to alert administration regarding this on the after hours message site, we found a gardener. He helped to call for a maintenance man, and they called in an office worker early to allow us to access the bathroom in the guest services building. Other than the Botanical Beach Park pit toilets down the road, there were no other toilets available. Luckily the toilet didn't break down in the middle of the night.

Broken glassware, only enough cutlery for one meal, beds were too soft, no instructions on how to use firepit, so we didn't use it, noone greeted us.

The view is astounding and it is wonderful to enjoy the jacuzzi while surrounded by such beauty. The bed is very comfortable and slept rather well. The room was lovely and tasteful. It has a tv but I didn’t watch it because to observe outside was much more enjoyable.

My only qualms are that guests are asked to remove their rubbish from the bins to put in garbage receptacles outside. Having paid $500 + per night I found that rather annoying. I didn’t mind not having a maid service (which is odd but I can make my own bed), but to remove our own rubbish is definitely stretching the limit. However, this did not distract from my stay at all - but it did niggle.

Location was exceptional, the cottages are very pleasant to stay in and the staff were very attentive.

The location is incredible. The views over the water, seals popping their heads up and the pub a short walk at the end of the pier. The parking is great as well

The location was perfect, had a nice to walk and see sea life. A pub was on location for lunch and dinner.

Beautiful place. Loved that we had 2 doors- great for getting luggage and dog in and out. The front had its own private front yard to sit and watch the world go by. Located on the pier and the view was incredible. Pub was great for dinner- good food. Room was clean and had all we needed, bed was comfortable. Pacheedaht Beach nearby was wonderful- not crowded, long and sandy, full of beautiful logs and sculptural roots. Perfect for running the dog.

The check in process was a little confusing as to where to go but staff helpful when messaged. Door lock took a bit to figure out but the keypad was actually very convenient once figured out

Everything was fabulous!

The location is gorgeous and the cottages just right. Great pub restaurant on the property and endless natural beauty to explore in the area. Seals bob their heads in the surf just outside the cottage and eagles are regular visitors. Magical.

The toilet flash broke, i have to keep lifting the lid to stop the water flashing. The blanket in the closet smells, probably never been washed. No air conditioning.

Magical place, wharf view is stunning, saw many birds and a family of otters. Comfortable and cosy, would highly recommend. Pub is one minute walk with good food and service.

Excellent location and service!

Beautiful waterfront location with great views. The cottages were comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with quality linens, updated furnishings, and everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the sauna, and the location was ideal for visiting Botanical Beach and walking to the local pub for dinner. The property felt thoughtfully cared for and was a great place to relax and unwind.

Very little to dislike. The patio area is shared with the neighbouring cottage, separated by a half wall and rope, so privacy can depend on who is staying next door. But it wasn't an issue during our visit.

The location is great and facilities good too. Outside gas fire a bonus. Very clean.

The girl in the Guest reception didn’t seem interested although we were 3 hours early for check in. The heating didn’t seem to be able to be changed. I think it’s preset on a timer.

This was our 2nd stay at Wild Renfrew. My husband and I enjoyed our visit so much we had to come back with our family. It is a lovely place and feels otherworldly at times when the fog comes in. We enjoy watching the seals and eagles from our balcony as well as taking advantage of the nearby hikes to multiple beaches. The cottage was cozy and comfortable and great for our family group.

The road from Sooke to Port Renfrew is not in great shape so the drive to and from is our least favorite part.

A wonderful location and view. The photos of the room do not do it justice. It was beautiful. We loved the hot tub on the deck.

We couldn’t find how to check in! We found the properties but there is no reception. We needed to drive back down the road and somehow found it. Needs better instructions.

The location was perfect for my short stay. I wish I'd had an extra day or two.to explore more. My only complaint was the lack of personal service..it's nice to have someone greet you and explain where your cabin is, etc. I had to ask a young guy working maintenance where to go to check in. Small issue but after a long drive it was one more thing to deal with. But overall I give you a 9 out of 10.

Het uitzicht! Het huisje met het heerlijke terras met vuur'pit'. De prachtige omgeving! En de keuken heeft alles wat je nodig hebt om te kunnen koken. Geen oven, wel een magnetron. De bedden waren fijn met goede matrassen; genoeg handdoeken, fijne badkamer. 1 ingebouwde kast voor kleding op de gang. Fijne eettafel en 4 persoons zithoek met een grote tv en een mini-geluidsinstallatie. Wij hebben alleen maar buiten gezeten en naar buiten of in het vuur gestaard:)

1 tip: leg een geplastificeerde gebruiksaanwijzing op de eettafel (een pdf van 5 kantjes met alle instructies lezen op een mobieltje is onhandig). 1 tip voor Nederlanders: Heel veel wandelroutes, voor verschillende niveaus. Let op, het is géén wandeling over de Veluwe en het is géén Artis. Vancouver Island is net zo groot als Nederland met evenveel inwoners als Amsterdam. Er leven heel veel beren, wolven en pumas. De natuur is echt, ruig en er is heel veel van. Eten, snacks, fruit, drankjes: lees je van te voren in. Waar je rekening mee moet houden en hoe je moet handelen als je een wild dier tegenkomt. Je kunt niks in de natuur achterlaten - je neemt alles weer mee terug, óók de verpakkingen. En vuilnis gaat in containers die beer-proof zijn want anders wonen de beren binnen de kortste keren in de achtertuin van de inwoners.

It was everything we wanted and needed! Perfect for families with kids. Clean, comfortable, spacious, cozy! And the view! Gorgeous! Will definitely come again.

Amazing location

Clean cabin, nice view, good location, short walk to pub that had take out.

We reserved for 2 nights. Unfortunately my wife had an accident and we had to rush back to Victoria for medical treatment, so we could only stay one night. But we had paid for 2, no refunds we were told. So that didn't seem right to us.

Location was incredible

The cottages were very dirty. As I had grandchildren that were just crawling we noticed the amount of dirt and dust bunnies throughout the cottages. I’m sure the kitchen table hadn’t been swept under for weeks.

The view and relaxing

Cabins were nice and view awesome.

Doesn't look like they've cleaned under the beds in a bit and thought for $400 a night it was a bit much to ask us to take out the garbage..especially as the outdoor bins were pretty dirty.

Such a great stay! The place is beautiful and the staff were amazing! They were quick to respond to my texts and helped with answering all my questions. I went in off-season, so much to the area is closed, I bought groceries in Sooke (~90 min south) before driving up and utilized their kitchen which was equipped with all the basics you could need. It's a quick 6 minute drive to botanical beach and I ran into others on the trail that were also staying in the cabin. I did not goto the pub that's on-site, but I heard from others there, that the food was great and had a good variety. It was the perfect birthday escape and I will definitely be back during summer.

Location was great and the room was very comfortable and well-appointed.

Absolutely wonderful 2 night stay with friends. Cabins were very clean, beds very comfortable, kitchen well stocked with all the essentials. The cabins are right on the waters edge where you can see the tide come in and out, watch for sea life and enjoy the stars at night. We enjoyed the sauna, nearby Botanical Beach and the three minute walk to the pub for dinner one night.

We couldn’t get the sauna working the first day and had to email and text to get instructions for the second time we reserved it.

The sea view was breathtaking. We bundled up in our comfy blankets, sat on our deck ( with propane fire pit) and enjoyed every minute. In January!!!

Being on the ocean was great.

The bathroom was dirty & the shower was full of mold. They came to clean it with bleach & removed the shower curtain.

Amazing view, private gas firepit and sauna/cold plunge made this an incredible stay! Pet friendly! 🐾

Mild off putting smell of furniture. Beds where not comfortable, could use new mattress. Beds are way too soft like sleeping on sponge.

Advertising on the booking site was misleading. I ended up walking out on the 3 night booking after the first night and getting accommodations elsewhere. We went there thinking that our “wharf side cottage” had a kitchen based on the collection of photos but what we got was a tiny room with a sink, fridge and microwave… which had a sign above the sink saying “Excessive mess in the KITCHEN would result in a $75 cleaning fee”. Also, bed was not comfortable, shower/tub slow to drain and mouldy, and the view of the ocean looked onto the jetty. People walking their dogs look straight into your bedroom from 10ft away unless you block out the windows with the old, semi-working shades.

Port Renfrew is stunning, and the seaside cottages are in an amazing location. We stayed last year in the cottages right on the beach, but chose the wharfside cottages this time as they were a bit more affordable. We felt that the check in process has improved, with reception open until 6pm and Willa was very welcoming. Last year the check in had closed early and, after a long drive, there was just an envelope left for us - we didn't necessarily feel very welcome. The cottages are central to so many amazing hiking trails but they are also the perfect place to do nothing. Truly amazing art of Canada

There was a microwave and crockery in the room, but we would have liked a dish for cooking a basic meal. The outside lights outside our room were shining into our room all night. However, as soon as we mentioned it to the lovely staff member the next day, he fixed it immediately. Due to its remote location, there are often blackouts, so expect that this may interfere with some of the timers and sendor lights. A minor issue for a stunning location.

We were in the 2 bedroom cottage on the ocean. So comfortable and the view with the outside fir pit and patio was exceptional! We loved the kitchen and living room, with super comfortable beds. We sat outside so much and enjoyed the ocean views, what a great way to unwind. We can’t wait to go again. ❤️

Great waterfront location. Basic but well supplied kitchen.

I never could connect to the internet! Password wasn't working. But I didn't ask staff to help. I also found the door lock system to be fussy -- but that could have been my incompetency!
